A group of us were staying in the area and one of my friends found Garozzo's in his search of nearby restaurants. I am glad he did, as this is a must visit if you are nearby and looking for a hearty Italian meal. The entire staff was so kind and our waitress Cheri was fantastic with her attentiveness. She was on point in routinely checking in on whether we wanted more drinks, refills, and bread as well as ensuring we were satisfied with our selected menu choices since it was our first time at the restaurant. The food was delicious, as we started with a meatball appetizer and dinner salads. I had lasagna for my entree and the dishes others had in my party were impressed with their selections. All of us were more than satisfied with the portions as well. We were unable to plan a reservation ahead of time, but we didn't have to wait extremely long for a table. if you have an opportunity you would want to place a reservation during busiest days/hours since it is not a large place. My girlfriend and I had a fabulous meal at Garozzo's. The artichoke appetizer, steak modega, and chicken spedini were incredible. Wine selection is expansive, and we got a great bottle of Chianti that was delicious and reasonably priced ($50). Our server was very attentive, friendly, and engaging. This place is one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever dined in. We went for a team dinner and was a party of 22 taking up 2 tables, we were supposed to be 16 but 6 others joined id at the lady minute. They w very accommodating, we had one waiter who was amazing! He took great care of us, our water glasses were never empty and it eased hot pt so we were very thirsty. The food was soooo good. The bread was warm and crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The appetizers were very good. I yelled the truffle ravioli, calamari, stuffed artichoke, and my favorite was a dish called heaven and hell.I had their signature dish for dinner called spiedini which comes 4 ways. When you go to Garozzo's you walk into a time and place that you dont normally see in Kansas City. It is crowded, busy, noisy, fun and full of energy. The menu is full of their time-tested recipes and if you like chicken spiedini, then you have come to the right place. Enlist the help of your waiter for dinner suggestions and enjoy the ride.I love to take out-of-town friends and local first timers to Garozzo's and let them form their own opinions as it is invariably over-the-top positive.I have to stop now, I'm making myself hungry. We didnt have to wait long with our reservation which was nice. parking wasnt great, but it wasnt terrible. I went with a few co workers and friends. I originally tried to order a vodka sprite, but they were out of sprite. Then the drink I did get was just not quiet my taste. no big deal. I did not get an app however others at the table were raving about the stuffed artichoke. The bread was very good. I was recommended by our waitress to try the 3 chicken spiedini.
