I took a "beginner" class with Kim on 4/27 for chalk painting. I had wanted to try chalk painting before but I felt I needed a hands on class. Her class was exactly what I was looking for and then some. We learned 3 methods for chalk painting and got to keep our sample boards. Kim has a passion for Annie Sloan products and methods and it was very easy to see that she enjoyed what she does. Kim gave great instructions, tips and hints. The class even went longer than it was scheduled to accomodate our questions etc (even though she had somewhere else to be). I left all excited up about what project I will tackle 1st. Having a hard time deciding on colors etc, stopped in the store today and Kim was gracious enough to give me a fresh larger color swatch to take home and decide. Bought my brushes and was today and will be back once I make my mind up on color. Probably will take another class in the future. Love shopping local and supporting Kim and her store. More...

ANNIE SLOAN 101 CLASS @ FUNK & JUNK "How hard can it be to paint something with chalk paint? I don't really need to take a class, do I " Yes, you do! Take it from me -- I had been experimenting with chalk paint prior to taking this class using the trial and error method, (emphasis on the error). If you want to learn the *right* way to use chalk paint and how to execute some of the more of the complex techniques (like creating texture, using washes, distressed finishes, etc.), this is a terrific introductory course. You'll also learn how and when to wax your pieces. I recommend this class for anyone who is interested in learning the basics of working with Annie Sloan chalk paint. More...

Working with Kim Lapierre from Funk and Junk was a dream! I asked her to custom make a cutting board with a sunflower in the middle as a gift and she and her team went above and beyond. Kim was extremely friendly, dedicated, and supportive throughout the entire process. I could not have asked for a better experience! Funk and Junk is hands-down the best place to go if you want to redecorate or give a heartfelt, meaningful gift to someone you love. Kim is a 10/10 person running a 5 star store, and I can’t wait to go back! More...

So happy with what I learned. Kim was so creative with my piece and helped me see the potential to transform something that looked tired and beatup into something I love. She was so patient with my lack of skills and gave me confidence to complete the piece and tackle another. I highly recommend taking the time to take a class even if you're clueless about refurbishing something you hate now but will love later. Let Kim work her magic and sprinkle her creative fairy dust on you. More...

Love this place! Such unique finds, and they also carry Annie Sloan paint. On my last visit, my two kids were asleep in the car, and the owner was kind enough to bring my paint to my car and complete the transaction curbside. Will be back soon!

We recommend you make Funk and Junk your one and only stop for custom live edge and reclaimed furniture! Save yourself the time and hassle of researching and visiting dozens of stores and workshops. Upon meeting Gene and Kim we immediately felt their passion and knew they were masters of their craft. They took the time to explain the process they take in constructing their one of kind pieces and took us for a tour around their workshop so that we understood the available options. Once we made the decision to move forward in purchasing our live edge dining room table and matching bench they were an absolutely dream to work with. They were extremely responsive in answering our emails and provided us the opportunity to come in for a few visits to see the progress and pick paint colors for the legs, stain and slabs of wood! The table  is an absolute showstopper in our living room and couldn't be happier with the purchase! To top it off Kim worked with my husband to painted an antique mirror for my birthday present that they gave me when the table was delivered! I can't wait to work with them on future projects in our home! More...

If you can imagine it, Gene and Kim can create it. If you struggle with creating from scratch, they'll painlessly guide you through. We're blown away by the truly unique things we've created -- and continue to create -- together. We can't wait to show off every single piece. What started as 2 light fixtures has blossomed into 4+ lights, an entry table, barn doors, the most awesome corbel lights for our covered porch and an off-the-hook table top. The best part of this experience is not just these one of a kind beauties we've made but the friendship and connection with Kim and Gene who are genuine-good people. More...

This unique little gem in Lambertville is well worth the visit! We drove about 45 minutes to get some Annie Sloan paint. It was one of my first projects using Annie Sloan paint, so Kim, the owner, took the time to thoroughly explain how to apply the paint and the wax for my bathroom vanity I will be painting. She was super sweet and so incredibly helpful in explaining some useful tips I could use for my painting projects. It was well worth the drive to venture out to visit this place!! Besides the Annie Sloan paint, the store is filled with incredibly unique furniture and accent pieces. I highly recommend taking a trip to visit Funk and Junk! If you don't leave with a piece of furniture or some paint you'll certainly leave inspired!! I look forward to coming back and possibly checking out some studio workshops being held in the future. Both she and her husband were so friendly, asking about my project and truly seeming interested in making sure I was set up for success.
