My six year old daughter has been taking piano lessons and we are really happy with the school.  There are several recitals where the kids can show off what they've learned and it's great to see how involved all the teachers are.  It's obvious the teachers all have a lot of passion and talent too.  There is a lot of encouragement for the students and they really do make learning fun.  I've noticed too if a certain way of teaching isn't quite sinking in, the teachers try different paths, which is great, they really cater to the students individual needs. My two daughters have attended Fun Music School for the last year and a half. They love the teachers and their instruction, the frequency of recitals, the option of having a lesson at home if it gets too crazy and the individuality. We as parents enjoy the good management, the good price, quick notifications, text reminders, etc.A 100% positive experience! More...

Our kids love both of their teachers at Fun Music. Our 8 yr old is learning the flute, which is new for her, but additionally has been working with Ms. Shiela for over a year on the piano and we are so amazed by the progress. Our son works with Ryan and he is also such a great teacher specifically because he adapts to meet the child’s style and needs in pursuit of teaching children music. For our son, Ryan has been teaching him piano but he sometimes struggles with focus so Ryan has had him compose and write music and this has been such a great way to engage him and get him to work with music differently. Our son was able to play his original composition at the Valentines recital this month! Overall, we are very happy with Fun Music’s program. More...

My son has been taking lessons with Fun Music School for about 2 months now and I'm extremely pleased. He's not only learning, he's really enjoying it! I thought it was going to be a battle with him to sit down one- on-one with a music teacher, but he looks forward to it. The teacher, Michelle, gives him lessons to work on 3 times a week, and he's been motivated to do it consistently. I've noticed a steady improvement in his playing and am very proud. Lastly, Fun Music School's teachers are willing to travel to your home for the lessons for only a minimal additional charge, which makes it super convenient, and in my case, the only way it would've been possible. I really enjoyed my experience here. What I'm really found of was the home that this music studio is located in. It's decorated with vintage paintings, it's warm and inviting, and has a lovable dog roaming around to cheer everyone up.

I love this place! It's very close to the greater Los Angeles area, has a lot parking, and the space itself, along with all the services it offers are great! The inside is decorated beautifully with with vintage paintings giving the home a serene quality. but my favorite of all is the dog that lives there; Max. Having him around is icing on the cake! Learning to play a new instrument is hard enough for someone who is just starting to learn, fortunately, this music school has instructors they could be proud of as they really do make learning fun at the same time teaching good playing habits which is an essential lesson to learn while developing one's skill. My violin instructor Michelle I have to say is awesome! I like her attention to detail, from the way you hold your bow, finger positions, proper way to rosin and anything in between - she just keeps her lesson light, not over bearing and gives compliments and corrections when it is needed or due.I highly recommend Fun Music School, learning to play from a group in school is also fun, but having a one on one time with an instructor just reinforces good playing habit and music fundamentals. Highly recommended. More...

My 7 year daughter has been taking piano lessons from Ms Niko for almost a year now, and we are very happy to have found her. She is genuinely interested in teaching and is very passionate about music. She is very humble and is able to connect well with my daughter. My daughter looks forward to her Thursday lessons and even the younger one is excited to start soon. Ms Niko has lessons at her studio as well as in home classes. Every quarter, she has a recital for the kids and a potluck party. We get to meet other students and their parents and other teachers who teach different kinds of instruments.  My younger daughter will be starting lessons in June and we hope that Ms Niko will continue teaching them for many more years. I have never played a musical instrument and had no idea how to read music.  After just a few lessons with Nico I can now read and play the piano.  I never thought this was something that I could actually do, as I had trouble with learning new things. Nico technic with ensuring that every symbol is understood really made it possible for me be able to learn so quickly. I am a Mom in my mid thirties so there is always something that needs to be done.  I now have this as my time, and it makes me feel so good. More...

My name is James Barros. I am an adult beginner violin student. After years of jumping around from teacher to teacher, trying to find a teacher I could work with, I couldn't be happier with Michael Fox of Fun Music School. The vast majority of violin teachers are stuck to a strict method, with no flexibility, and either wish to treat all their students as children, or are unable to deviate at all. I was a little hesitant when I first met Michael. He carries himself a little differently from most people, but he's an amazing teacher. From the first moment I began working with Michael: 1.) He's been adaptable to my needs, and our very first lesson he helped me understand a song I was trying to work on independently. 2.) He's been very goal oriented. We do run scales, arpegios and the like, but we also take time to work on songs that are worth playing, things which leave me feeling like I have a chance with the instrument. 3.) He's incredibly patient and always uplifting, Not nit picking me where I make mistakes, but gently pointing them out only when I don't see them, and always pointing out what has been improving, which is sometimes hard to keep sight of. 4.) He focuses on really learning the instrument. For example, I do not have tape on the neck to show me where the notes are, but rather, he teaches me how to play double stops and listen for the difference, so I can learn to hear the right notes, rather than simply find them by rote muscle memory and visual cues. If you are an adult, and looking for a wonderful, flexible violin teacher, I can whole heartedly recommend Michael Fox or the other teachers at Fun Music School. More...

Q&As

Providing music education is one of the most important developmental activities for both young and "seasoned" learners. I owe a lot of my success to having violin and singing lessons during my younger years, and it really prepared me for all kinds of scenarios - leadership roles, teamwork situations, problem solving, creative thinking, fine motor skills development - the list goes on and on.

So I when I got the chance to provide the same benefits for the upcoming generations, I was all in!

I'm constantly striving to create and improve today's society on the community level, for the benefit of the future leaders who will take our place and lead their communities. It's hard to do that as an employee, so I have my own business, and our teachers also have their own businesses. We work together to serve local communities with music instruction for all ages and all instruments.

In our view, music education will empower every music student to do better in all areas of school and in life. See the video on our website's About Us page for the scientific research behind that statement. Accordingly, our teachers are among the highest-paid music studio instructors in the USA. Happy music instructors are less stressed (no starving artists here!) so they tend to have happy students which makes music more fun!

We provide in-person lessons (at your own or an available studio) as well as virtual lessons. In-person tends to work better for young students, while virtual can be a good choice for intermediate/advanced or more mature beginner to advanced students.

We recommend discussing your Covid-19 requirements with us during the free introductory lesson process. Each family and teacher have individual requirements/needs and we understand concerns on both sides.

Please do keep in mind that our teachers are not employees and as such we cannot mandate vaccines, etc. However, all our teachers are happy to wear masks and take extra sanitization procedures, and some of our teachers are also vaccinated.
