I found this company after they catered a good friend's wedding and I loved the food and then found that the price was a steal as well! Edna and her husband came to our house to do a tasting and we were so happy with results. We nailed down our menu, added a bartender and put down our deposit. I checked in with Edna from time to time to change my order slightly, ask questions and add on services. I did also experience the time where their email wasn't working and it did scare me for a second. However, it did not take long for Edna to get back to me and on the day of my wedding they came and served without any issue. My daughter just graduated from high school and I wanted to throw a party that she and all of her friends would remember. I decided that the old "barbeque burgers and dogs" would be too much work and wanted to just enjoy the day with my kid . I have never used a taco caterer before and didn't have much to go on so I looked on the ever reliable Yelp for some guidance.  I Love Tacos was high on the list of recommendations so I  scanned their website and decided to give them a call. I spoke with Edna and gave her the date I needed and she was quick to let me know that they were available. I wanted a basic package of Carne asada and pollo asado.  Edna sent me an estimate and I was pleased to see that so many things were included in the incredibly reasonable pricing.  I did not need to do anything at all. On the day of the party the chef and two other workers showed up and got right to work cooking and setting out side dishes, salsas, guacamole, plates, napkins and utensils. Their friendly demeanor was appreciated especially since we had roughly 30 teenagers in addition to the adults at the party. The food was delicious -  most of my guests preferred the tender, juicy chicken to the Carne asada. The rice and beans were very tasty and the chili dusted cucumbers were a yummy/fun treat. Edna and her team were fantastic! We hired her for our wedding and they did a wonderful job.At the consultation we got to try all the food we hoped to order for our menu and keep all the left overs (bonus)! Throughout the whole process Edna was there to answer any and all of our questions. Her hook ups with Abby Rentals also helped in the organizing of our big day. I began my search about six months ago for a good caterer for my niece's first birthday party. I went on yelp and found, I Love Tacos catering. My mother in law wanted to host a party for about 30 people.  "I Love Tacos" website allowed her to choose a menu and get a quote within 24 hours. It was a great way to plan a party.  We live in Vista. I Love Tacos catered our wedding of about 70 guests on 7/20/13.

Prior to the wedding: Making contact with Edna was easy, and she always got back to me in a timely manner.

Wedding day: The crew arrived early, quickly set up tables, and prepared the food (appetizers for the cocktail hour followed by dinner). Throughout the evening my guests raved about the food! Everything was fresh and well presented. I would most certainly recommend Edna and her crew to anyone looking for good Mexican food caterer for any event.

I love Tacos catered my kids birthday party we had about 65 people. I first spoke to Edna who quoted me $10 per person. She was very flexible and responsive. They arrived at my event 2 hours before hand to set up, there were three people that were there to help and they cooked all the food on site. We served carne asada, chicken tacos and quesadillas. We had a great experience with Edna and the I love Tacos Catering Team! They arrived early, got everything set-up and all our guests (100 kids and 100 adults) loved it! My fiance and I have booked I Love Tacos for our October wedding and so far, A++++++++, I wish I could give them more stars. Once you plan a wedding you will understand all the ridiculous costs that occur with planning one, people think because it's a "wedding" and not a "retirement party" they can charge you double. That is not the case with Edna and her staff. She has been attentive since day 1, answering all my e-mails promptly and when we met her for a "tasting" she brought two types of meat, tortillas, salsa, rice and beans, and let us take the leftovers home with us. Not only are they inexpensive , but also very yummy. I just hope the service day of the wedding is just as great as the process has been! I am looking forward to a yummy taco bar for our wedding! Catered a party with I Love Tacos and it was great! All the guests liked the food and they even accomodated my request for all white-meat chicken. The staff were super nice, arrived on time, and cooked the meats perfectly. The food buffet they set up looked super; colorful and lively.I am even booking them again for my bridal shower. For $10 a head, with a staff cooking on site, you really can't beat it! Only minus one star for the "guacamole." I really don't think it's guacamole, but a runny avocado salsa. (Not that great.) My wedding was catered by I Love Tacos Catering.  There were tons of mexican food caterers to choose from, but Edna was the most responsive and the most flexible.  Most taco places give you 3 types of meat and set packaging, but we were able to work with Edna to get vegetarian options that aren't even on the website (Nopales tacos)!  Our menu consisted of mini chicken tamales, chile rellenos, carne asada, carnitas,  cactus tacos, and salad, as well as the included spread of rice, beans, salsas, chips, carrots, and green onions.  Come wedding day, Edna arrived 1.5 hours before her scheduled arrival time to set up.  They cooked on site and their set up was professional and festive.   And the food! Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing it was, even those that "hate mexican food."  Vegetarian and vegan guests had full plates (beans are not cooked in lard).  As bride and groom, we didn't get to try all of it, but we had plenty of leftovers to take home.   I could not have asked for a better experience. I Love Tacos Catering catered our June 4, 2011 wedding in Temecula. We are Mexican food lovers so it seemed like the obvious choice for us. Edna was very responsive and, within a couple of days of first contacting I Love Tacos, we had signed the contract.

We chose empanadas, chile rellenos, and mini tamales for the appetizers and our guests loved them all. The empanadas were gone within a few minutes and the rest shortly after. Our tacos were cooked on-site, which I thought was very cool. The tacos (carne, pork, and chicken) were delicious, as was the salad, beans, rice, and tres leches cake. The roasted jalapenos, salsas, and chips... YUM! Everything was presented beautifully and on time. Even better, our guests loved the food.

I never thought that one of the most difficult things about a wedding reception would be locking in a caterer.  In a sea of wedding caterers, nobody seemed to want our business as we had nothing but un-returned phone calls and emails. Luckily, that was not the story with I Love Tacos Catering.They got back to us very quickly, and before we knew it, we finally had a caterer locked in!I can't say enough good things about I Love Tacos Catering!Once I saw their menu, I was all in.  It was a hard decision to narrow down which items to offer, as everything sounded so good.An extra super bonus is the fact that their prices are very reasonable, as well.  As far as the day of the wedding went, everything was super smooth.  They had a great display and were very professional.  Their food? My daughter's January 15 wedding reception was catered by I Love Tacos Catering, and it was a fantastic experience all the way around. I'd probably never even have thought of tacos for a reception dinner if my daughter hadn't brought it up; now that we've had the experience I realize what a great idea it was -- familiar enough to Southern Californians to be enjoyable, but unusual enough as wedding reception fare to be really *memorable*.Edna was a breeze to deal with through e-mail. I went to their website and filled out a small form to obtain a cost estimate, chose options from their menu, and got a price quote. We ended up with a rush of RSVPs so that I changed the number of guests, as well as a couple menu changes as we nailed down the final details, and Edna got me the updated info post-haste every time.The church hall the reception was held at did not permit any on-site food preparation, so we had to sadly forego the on-site grilling, but the food arrived hot and fresh, and was kept fresh and warm throughout by two friendly and professional servers. It was absolutely *delicious*, and most of the guests went back for seconds. We had chili rellenos and mini-empanadas as appetizers, with a taco buffet consisting of carne and pollo, warm tortillas, rice, beans, pico de gallo, salsa and lime, and there wasn't a single thing that wasn't excellent.Several folks have asked about the caterers since then, and I've been glad to enthusiastically recommend I Love Tacos to each of them. The wedding and reception were a huge success, and ILTC played a very large role in that. The prices were extremely reasonable, and they made me feel like a valued customer even though it was a fairly small event (45 guests). Everything was smooth and seamless -- we walked out of the chapel and into the Hall, and all the places were set and the buffet laid out. It was so smooth and easy that I was able to kick back and have a plate myself, then mingle with the guests.I've come to decide that a Mexican buffet is an awesome choice for a wedding reception dinner...and that I Love Tacos Catering is who I'll give my biz to for any similar type of event in the future.We had a blast! The caterer was great. Edna was easy to work with from the proposal stage through the event and she even followed up with me after. I heard lots of people say the food was good. I did actually eat and am glad I did since what I had was yummy. Edna and her crew were totally on it and a lot of guests were impressed that they were cooking right there on sight and hand rolling the taquitos right there too. There was plenty of food and they also are full service so we utilized them for our table and chair rentals. They beat me and my helpers on arrival for set up and we got there 15 minutes early. They had all of the outdoor set up complete in the reception area and were starting on chair set up shortly after we arrived. They were really fast and they helped us move the chairs after the ceremony to the reception. I honestly am not sure how smooth this part went. All I know was that from the time we went back into the boathouse after the ceremony and walked back out to the ceremony area for pictures the chairs were gone, seriously a span of a few minutes. I know that I asked a few guys to help and grab a few chairs but did not expect it to happen so fast! Tear down was also a breeze with them.

We had a Mexican buffet and also appetizers. They provided water and sodas which explains how I over purchased the soda for the bar. We arranged for the catering portion to exit through the rolling front doors and not run through the reception area. We set them up far enough to the side that I never actually saw them leave either. The on site person for our venue helped them take care of this. Edna just let me know when she was leaving and then the guys who set up the rentals were back at 10 pm and once linens and centerpieces were pulled they took care of the entire tear down for rentals. They also took all the trash at the end of the night.

We also had the caterer provide the bartender. He was really nice and I only was near the bar a couple of times but I didn’t have to order and he refreshed my drink each time without me saying a thing. He had a heavy hand too and people drank a lot but didn’t get wasted. I would totally use them again if we ever had a large scale event and fully reccommend them More...

I had this company cater for my son's 1st birthday party and they did a FANTASTIC job.  My guests thoroughly enjoyed the food, I had people asking for take-home plates!  They presented the food table so nicely, and while one of them was cooking the other was serving my guests.  I didn't have to worry about them getting all the fixings and their food. We had so much fun with our non-traditional choice of providing on-site grilled tacos grilled for our wedding guests, who were primarily from the Midwest and generally unfamiliar with this type of food and style of service. Having worked in catering, I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff from the time I received the proposal through the wedding day. Service was so seamless that I never even noticed when they cleaned up and left. The food was excellent, the buffets was colorful and well-presented, and I highly recommend adding extra appetizers (empanadas/chile rellenos)...our guests loved them and we ran out (which was not a problem because the meal followed immediately). We just wanted to send a quick note to say THANK YOU for such an amazing job well done at our wedding rehearsal dinner. From the very beginning we were very confident with our decision hiring you on such an important day. Your quick responses to emails were always pleasant and professional and you put one stressed out bride to ease! That in itself was reason enough to hire you.

On the day of the rehearsal dinner your staff arrived on time and everything just went like clockwork. The bartender was not only friendly without being intrusive, but she also made some mean margaritas. And the food! It's been over a month now and I still get comments about how fabulous the food was. Our entire wedding party was from out of town who insisted on eating Mexican for every meal, and your food knocked the socks off some of the expensive restaurants in town. I hired these guys to cater both my rehearsal dinner and wedding reception, and they did an amazing job. Hamburgers and hot dogs for the rehearsal and tacos for the wedding. I freaken love tacos so this place was a no brainer.  Their food is AMAZING.  They catered our rehearsal dinner for about 40 people and did an absolutely stellar job.  Nearly all of our guests were from out of town so we ate Mexican food for nearly all their meals (Fidel's in Solana, Las Olas, etc.) and I Love Tacos blew their food out of the pinata.  That good.  I was afraid we were going to run out of food b/c people kept going back for more, but they must have anticipated that b/c we never did.  I do recall them saying they provide enough for each person to have 3-4 tacos, which at the time I thought was way too much, but we had barely any leftovers!  Those that we did made for killer post-wedding "I don't have to fit in my dress anymore" food.Response time is so quick I feel they must never leave their computer.  We also had a bartender who did an awesome job for four hours for $80.  Considering she didn't have a tip jar out (tacky!) that was a really good price.  We provided the alcohol and she made some pretty amazing margaritas.They set up and decorate their tables before all your guests arrive and cook all the meat on site so it's very fresh (we had chicken and carne asada but they have more plus fish tacos).  Their salsa is out of this world good and my midwestern guests especially loved the churros, b/c even though they'd never heard of the name before, they were fried and had sugar on them.  Book them and tip them well!
