I recently used Flavor Chef Catering for my Wife's 50th birthday. The experience was amazing. Guests at our party kept raving about how amazing the food was and that the servers kept coming around all night. The most important thing I would say about my experience was that Madison our event coordinator made me look like a genius with hosting the party. She came by prior to the party to get a view of our home for the layout, she coordinated belly bar tables and table cloths and even recommended a great bartender Kenneth. They were on time for set up and cleanup was amazing too. It was like they were never there using our kitchen for all the prep. If you are looking for an experience with great food and service and a little help with hosting as well, I would highly recommend using them. My wife had an amazing 50th birthday experience and our guests have been raving about the evening on social media for over a week now. Thanks Madison, Stephanie and Breanna!! We had Flavor Chef Catering for our small, intimate ranch house style wedding. The venue was outdoors, with limited kitchen facilities, but you'd never know it! The food was phenomenal, seasoned to perfection, and tasted really fresh. My 70th birthday party for 50 people was perfect and everyone loved the variety of food provided by Flavor Chef Catering. Madison came to our home in advance of the event to discuss the menu and how we wanted the food displayed . The food arrived exactly on time and was ready when the guests arrived...and then she slipped away. Like magic the food was ready! If I could give them 6 stars I would. While my organization is located in Los Angeles, we have been conducting our annual weeklong staff retreats at various locations in Oceanside and Temecula for the last three years. This being the third year, we've worked with Flavor Chef, it's high time I posted a review on the excellent service we've received from this company.Madison is a dream to work with at planning out the menus and all of the logistical arrangements. For us, this meant planning menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 27 people for a full week. They arrived on time each and everyday, had the meals set up and provided excellent service for the duration of meal service.The food is excellent from the different kinds of salads (bistro with mixed greens, fruits and berries to roasted gold and red beet salad with arugula to local organic green) to the pan seared wild isle salmon with orange and basil to charred coffee rubbed flank steak with sweet potato mash and lightly grilled asparagus. I was heavenly to wake up to their breakfasts, whether French toast bread pudding or omelet station or steak and eggs and potato hash. They also provided vegetarian and vegan options which were just as tasty as the rest of their entrees.And before I forget, their sprouted bean hummus of different varieties (original, beet or spicy) with assorted seasonal veggies was the highlight of our afternoon breaks.Chef Stacey was a joy to work with again, and Chef Pedro provided us breakfast with all smiles and good food each morning. Flavor Chef did an excellent job with our wedding reception at our house. We had about 16 people and they all raved about the food - in particular, the bacon-wrapped dates! Everything tasted wonderful, the hors d'oeuvres were served constantly, Champagne was poured, and Madison and her helper were cheerful and helpful. I highly recommend this company. I hosted a dinner at our Airbnb rental house for six girls after wine tasting all day. The food was delicious and Chef Stacey was very attentive and knowledgeable. I had flavor chef cater my wedding which was a small, beachfront ceremony with a dinner on the patio following.The coordinator, Madison, was AMAZING. Responded to all my emails months in advance, answered all my questions, and revised my order every time I changed my mind (which was a few times) and made it a BREEZE to plan the dinner! Not only did she help me with the actual food, but Flavor Chef did all the china dinnerware and set up table rentals/chairs for me! They showed up early the day of and had everything set up! The food was AMAZING. Everything was perfectly cooked, warm, and all the guest loved it. Especially loved their soft pretzel display! So fun. They provided water service and filled up all the champagne glasses, and even gave all the kids sparkling apple cider! A special note was that I saw my brother in law struggling to get food (we did buffet) while holding their 3 month old baby, and saw Madison happily offer to make him a plate and even carried it to his place at the table. Absolute BEST in the game! I Used flavor chef catering for a work event. My experience with catering has been bland.It seems caters often to try an appeal to the masses and play it boring focusing on quantity not quality. Flavor chef delivered Both quality and quantity and shattered my expectations of catering forever!! They managed to have the best tasting food I've ever had at a group event. I had the Flavor Chef for my baby shower and everything was perfect. So many guests commented on how delicious the food was. We had a chef and server who kept the kitchen spotless after such a big production. I realy appreciated not having to clean anything after the party. They served an assortment of hearty appetizers with salad and grilled veggies. I'm still craving their crab cakes and almond cookies. I have a long list of food sensitivities and dietary restrictions but they handled the menu modifications with ease and everything was delicious. People didn't miss the dairy or gluten at all. I highly recommend this company if you want clean organic food and have to make modifications. They really know what they're doing and are mindful of cross contamination. I don't even know where to start. THANKS A MILLION!!! I had an event catered last night by The Flavor Chef and just like the other reviews they did an absolute amazing job. After reading the reviews on yelp, I messaged them late Thursday evening and asked if it would be possible for them to cater a last minute welcome home event due to my husband returning from a Deployment on Saturday. In just a few minutes after sending the message they had already responded and were even able to send me a menu ASAP. Friday morning Deena called and was able to assist me by creating a menu that would work best for my 40 guests and budget. I had concerns about being able to provide enough for my guests and she (Deena) reassured me that there would an abundance of food for everyone which was 100% accurate. Madison even called the day of the event to confirm everything and even let me know that I would have ample food and they would even compliment me with a fruit and cheese platter. Madison was very prompt, she set up everything for the event in my tiny kitchen and made everything so easy for me to entertain my guests. Thanks so very much for every. Use this company to cater our holiday event. They were GREAT! Deena was informative and helpful every step of the way. The food was great and her staff were awesome. We ordered beef tri tip, lemon herb chicken, a Mac and cheese bar, eggplant, mixed veggies and salad. The appetizers were ceviche shots and bruschetta. They set up and cleaned up too. We had Derek and his amazing crew cater and helpplan a big birthday celebration. Deena was on point with help on the menu selection and planning the food service and layout. We used them for our linen rental and they provided a lot of extra assistance on some details that we needed help with. Maddie and her prep and server team did an excellent job preparing the kitchen and ballroom, passing some delicious hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and then setting up an attractive buffet of scrumptious food. They paced everything perfectly and our guests were so impressed with the food quality and presentation. We never had to wait for dirty dishes to be removed from the table during dinner and they were swift and efficient in their cleanup after the party. Third time I have used Flavor Chef for a cocktail party (this time 25 guests). I was still very pleased with the food and service. Coordinator Deena was helpful and responsive to my questions during the planning phase and quick with suggestions for the menu. Chef Derek and server Myra arrived promptly the evening of the event, went to work immediately on more than half a dozen appetizers and were "in control" allowing me to focus on other matters. They coordinated the sequence of the food items and were agreeable to passing a few items I'd prepared myself (cheese tray, bite-sized sweets, etc.). They kept me informed, all the while cleaning up and eventually leaving me with an almost spotless kitchen and satisfied guests. Derek and The folks at Flavor Chef have been catering our Rotary events for a long time and always leave smiles on our faces and great food in our bellies. There seems to be no cuisine out there that these guys haven't mastered, whether it's Indian curry, Thai chicken, southern BBQ, or authentic Italian, they always bring great food and even better service. They really are the total package, handling everything from setup to tear down and pay the utmost attention to detail all along the way. We hired Flavor Chef to prepare and serve the food at an outdoor gathering at our home for a birthday party. From the beginning of the communications on, we were so pleased! Deena retuned phone calls, advised, helped with the planning, and served at our party. Chef Pedro prepared delicious food and the presentation and flavors were excellent. They were punctual, professional, efficient, and delightful to have in our kitchen and around our guests. They took care of set up, serving, clean up... everything. We hired The Flavor Chef to do a four generation family dinner thinking it would be nice to have someone prepare the meal for our celebration instead of cooking, what a great decision! WHAT A FABULOUS DINNER! The food was delicious, beautifully presented and according our schedule. Derrick and Maddy arrived right on time and before we knew it they were serving appetizers. They were both pleasant and positive while working in our kitchen and cooking on our grill, no easy task. Everyone raved over the food and it's difficult to please people from ages 2-85! I ordered very healthy organic bone broth from the Flavor Chef to be shipped to Northern California (they were recommended in "The Prime" book for repairing digestion). I coordinated an event this weekend with Deena, owner of Flavored Chef and it was a huge success. From a coordinators perspective, it's really important to team with professionals who respond quickly, communicate well, have professional curtsey and really get the importance of teamwork. Deena was all of that and more. She offered to provide assistance without overcharging and during the event was more than willing to lead a hand, going above and beyond what typical caterers provide. I most certainly will be using only Deena and her super friendly team for all my events moving forward. AND...the attendees of the event raved about how fabulous her food tasted. I hired The Flavor Chef after doing some research and reading lots of reviews. Deena responded quickly to my email. After our initial conversation I was excited about hiring TFC to cater my daughters birthday party. There were plenty of menu options that could suit anyone. Madison was the chef that came to my home and prepared everything. She was AWESOME! She was on time, she was clean, she was helpful, she was personable and last but certainly not least she made amazing food! The food continued to come out when the trays were getting low. There was never a time that the food wasn't refreshed although we were eating it as fast as it came out because it was so good! I cannot recommend The Flavor Chef enough! They catered our small wedding and everyone was impressed with the great food. My husband has a severe dairy allergy and they went out of their way to make sure almost everything they served was safe for him, plus they were able to tell him exactly what he could not eat . Not only was the food amazing, but the chef and servers were so polite and accommodating to all our guests. They left our kitchen clean and packaged up the leftovers and stored them in our fridge for us. In addition, Deena came to our house beforehand to help us plan and organize our backyard wedding. I received multiple quotes for catering our ' Celebration of Life' for my Father-n-law, but after multiple options and prompt responses, we selected The Flavor Chef. From the start to the very end of the event, this was the best catered event I've been to or ordered from. I truly appreciated their flexibility with the menu selection and even calling her the day before the event and asking to cook for 25 more additional guests, they were extremely helpful and accommodating. The food was amazing - both the displayed platters and the hot items passed by the great server team. So many compliments from my guests on the food! We had Chef Lance cater at our wedding at the SD botanic Garden in October last year, and to this day we still get rave reviews about the food! Chef Lance made some great suggestions to our menu seeing that we had some guests with meat, dairy and gluten allergies and was very accommodating, with the right frequency and level of communication you need when planning something as big your wedding. Hired them again for our second volunteer appreciation dinner (RCHS Thrift Shop) and again, everything was amazing! Here's what I'd like you to know: I screwed up on the date and Deena, their main contact person, thought we needed them for 6/4. ..NOT 6/3. Yet, when I discovered my error, without the slightest hesitation, she replied, "we'll do it!" and proceeded to deliver, on time, food that everyone loved (delicious appetizers, white lasagna, squash tortellini, grilled veggies, fresh salad, and desserts that tasted as good as they looked). Chef Lance is absolutely amazing! The food is delicious, presentation is beautiful, and his infectious personality is the icing on the cake or shall I say marshmallows on our smores bites! Yum! As a corporate party planner I would definitely work with the Flavor Chef again. He made food that looked great, tasted great, and he accommodated all the dietary restrictions including vegans. I recently planned a reception for ~25 people and being from out of the area I had to rely on Yelp for recommendations. After contacting four catering companies, The Flavor Chef being one of them, it was obvious after the first encounter they would be great for the task at hand. I worked with Kimberly Morris who was very helpful in coming up with a menu for a heavy reception (not quite dinner, but heavier than a few appetizers). We had specific dietary needs and all requests regarding that matter were met. Each time I called or emailed my questions were answered in a very timely manner. The follow up was top notch! On the event day, our guests raved about the food. The quality of food was also noticeable. Fresh vegetables, everything made from scratch, and displayed very processionally. The onsite chefs/servers were very friendly and professional. They cleaned up and packed up all the leftover food, which we enjoyed later that evening. The cookies and brownies are amazing! Chef Lance, The Flavor Chef, made a fabulous Holiday dinner for me to serve to my extended family of 10 (which included 3 children under the age of 7). I've eaten at the best restaurants in LA, SF, NY, Paris and London. The food was some of the best I've eaten anywhere and that was agreed upon by everyone present.
