It was time to bring a great week on the Alabama Gulf Coast to an end so we decided to end it with a great meal. We had heard great things about Fisher’s and were anxious to give it a try. We arrived at our reserved time and were promptly shown to our table. As usual we started with our favorite cocktails as we studied the great menu. We began with sharing appetizers of raw oysters, fried oysters and pork cheek. All three were very good but the raw oysters were outstanding. Two of us have eaten our share of raw oysters over the years and have had some very good ones. We both agree these were the best we have had as far as we can remember. Two days ago, I hosted my daughter’s thirtieth birthday at Fisher’s Upstairs—parenthetically, I have coordinated weddings and events for 40 years—and working with Victoria and her staff made this event one of the most delightful, fluid, stress-free events I have ever experienced! They went ABOVE AND BEYOND in every aspect!!! My daughter, Chelsea Crawford, also an event and wedding planner, was completely in awe! The celebration was beautiful, the food was delicious, and every request was enthusiastically met and accommodated! Victoria and I worked together, seamlessly, to bring about an event more wonderful than my daughter and I could have hoped for! It's good but it's like stepping inside The Truman Show or a Stepford Wives neighborhood, bring your white people and wear Brooks Bros. or Tommy Hilfiger. Aside from the disturbing amount of whiteness the food was fantastic. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for something nice. It's definitely not 5 star or overly fine dining but it's good. Great experience!
Dockside has nice open air seating and is quite spacious. Service was excellent, probably the best we had in the area.
The salads were really great-crisp fresh greens, homemade dressings, really tasty. Alabama chicken dish and the fried chicken were both great dishes, collard greens were the best ever. Shrimp tacos were really good with a nice spicy dressing and nice shrimp.
Definitely will go back.

We arrived about 5:30 and were immediately greeted...We sat down to a near empty restaurant, and hoped it wasn't because of the food. We were served corn bread which was the best i have ever eaten. We both ordered the grouper special, and it was phenomenal. By the time we were finished eating the restaurant was 3/4's full, mind you this was a Tuesday night. I guess we were just officially called the "early birds" If you want a GREAT meal, stop here, its well worth it.!!!! we cant wait to come back next summer! Service was 10 Star.........!!! More...
