Everyone i met on my first and only visit so far has been loving, welcoming and so very kind. The musician who sang a song he wrote so impressed me that i shall be getting the words and mailing them to a friend i know it will help a great deal. Every day i am excited about my next opportunity to be among these lovely people! More...

This church made a great effort to host a very diverse time of mourning for the local Jewish community after the tragedy in Pittsburgh. It was Muslim friendly, LGBTQ friendly. I thank the church family for offering this space in a time of grief. More...

This space in the First Baptist Church in JP is a life changing experience for so many people - people of any race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc. First Fridays Youth Open Mic is incredibly welcoming, the poets and musicians are jaw droppingly talented, and there is always delicious food. Please continue supporting this light of hope and making a huge difference in the people's lives. More...

This is honestly my favorite regular event in Boston. I've been going for about four years. It's always amazing: honest, funny, sad, artistic, powerful. Thank you!

Such a wonderful space and energy; I had to commute all the way from the Davis stop on the red line to get to JP and it was incredibly worth it! Accessible and dynamic with a great community feel. Can’t wait to attend as many First Friday’s as possible! More...

This open mic series is really, really, really, really, REALLY good! The host is phenomenal, funny, AND has revolutionary politics, the pastor of the church is tremendously generous, and the audience is full of joy.
If you're reading this, it's not too late. You should come through with your crew and enjoy the food, fellowship, and feelings next time, boo! teehee ✨

My father, a pastor for many years, always asks the question, "Would our community notice if our church suddenly stopped existing? ". After only two years of living in JP, I believe our community would notice if First Baptist JP disappeared. Even though I attend a different church in the area, I have continually heard of and been invited to the myriad of community-hosted events, activities and spaces hosted by First Baptist. They have become a part of the very fabric of JP which is what I believe Jesus so desired and modeled with His own life. Thanks First Baptist Community for being so invested in JP, in Boston and in the beautifully different children of God in our neighborhood. More...
