Fish Taco outstanding
Delicious breakfast burrito and horchata!!!
Wasnt on the menu but when I requested shrimp fries they were made to perfection!!
I love their tacos! the best in San Diego honestly!very sad that they are not opened on the weekends, but that's okay because I can always come for lunch during workthank you to everyone there
Mexican food and the atmosphere at this location is excellent. The service here is outstanding. The bill was average for the menu.
Mexican food and the atmosphere here is better than most. Quick and friendly service. Prices are appropriate for the quality.
Amazing place! Friendly gentleman working the counter, solid burrito, Really enjoyed..Have a good summer!
My top location for delicious Mexican food. A preferred evening place. The service here is attentive. The bill won't break you.
Had a 3 hour delay in San Diego and THANK GOD I came hear! Oh man I loooove the tacos!! Especially the grilled cheese taco shell it was the best one!! I wish we had this is Miami but I'm coming back to San Diego soon and you're my first stop there! To the front cashier/cook, thank you so much for being so kind and going through the menu with me!Disclaimer, the location seems like a sketchy part of town. More...
Easily the best street tacos this side of the border.
The Cali Diablo burrito is single handedly, one of the greatest burritos I have ever had. The staff, Ales was so kind and welcoming and I will forever suggest that anyone coming to San Diego, visits this fine Mexican restaurant.

Very good. You will not be disappointed. Expensive though.
There Famoso taco brought back childhood memories! Wow, I will be coming back! I would recommend not just eating the common taco here consider eating there house specialties. Enjoy!!
The street fries have been a long time favorite. I was really sad when they closed down for awhile. They are now back with bigger portions just as delicious as ever. :)
Great tasting tacos at a reasonable price!
Mexican food and service here is great. The service here is outstanding.
Nice spot for tasty mexican food. It has a cool feel to it. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I liked.
Mexican food and the atmosphere at this spot is great. Super appetizing. Next time I'll be back with my relatives. Prices are appropriate. Atmosphere is like a restaurant in Fort Worth I loved. More...
A favorite place for tasty mexican food. The service was very welcoming and observant. The bill was fair I would say.
mexican food here - yummy. I often meet people here to talk. Prices are decent. Wish it was closer to my house, I would come every week.

Queso and California are BOMB!
Food and service was amazing. We may go back before we leave!
Are you kidding me? That cheese taco and the famous taco are so over the top delicious, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't try it! Business Bros recommended taco place for lunch and catering hands down! Don't forget the churro! More...

Good tacos, the famous taco was great!
These tacos are cheap, these tacos are delicious, and I will order from here time and time again!
The food here is great, the pastor meat is the best. The staff was extremely helpful and very personable. Their Famoso taco was delicious but just make sure to get enough napkins.
This place has phenomenal food. The experience and the hospitality was even better. Thank you for taking the time to give us ideas of places we must visit.-JT

The Cali Diablo Burrito was just a taste of heaven , I usually eat alot and for some reason i was full after eating it. Must be the tortilla Idk , idc, it was delicious
Love this place. Probably the best tacos in downtown San Diego.
Always a good experience, great food and staff. Try a "taco pizza".
Hands down some of my favourite Mexican food in San Diego county. My wife is obsessed with the steer fries, and I can't get past the diablo burrito.
It's a shame you have to go out of your way to find this place they have great food.
Best place in downtown San Diego to eat their fish tacos are the best.
Spicy and tasty.
When I walked in here I noticed several awards for best Tacos in town so I tried 'em out. I had the Queso, signature Famoso(shrimp, carne asada, cotija cheese, avocado, cilantro) and shrimp taco.
All 3 were phenomenally tasty, fresh and satisfying. There is alot of meat in the tacos and I could tell the quality is excellent.
The location is great next to the tram line and just south of the happening Cortez Hill neighborhood.
Service by Manager Angel is professional, fast and friendly.
Famoso is well on its way to world famous tacos. More...
Good Tijuana style Mexican food. Limited menu, but no one was disappointed. Order chicken nachos and they were very good with large chunks of chicken. Worth a try if you are in the area. More...
The Tuesday Special $5 (3 signature Famoso tacos) they were so AMAZING! I had to order more! This a new weekly spot for sure. Affordable all days, and happy hour (3-6 Mon-Fri) and super friendly people. You will wait a bit for very, very hot and fresh food. Worth every penny and the wait! Beer and soft drinks served. Great fish tacos
I will be back
Perhaps some of the best pastor tacos you can ask for. Right price, perfect taste, fairly easy parking. What's not to love? The pastor cuts are so good and fresh as you can see them cook and cut it before your eyes. They also slice a cut of pineapple on each pastor taco - a nice, different element. They also have the typical good sauces and condiments you can expect. We got 6 pastors for I think $8 or so. Parking? The place is attached to a gas station. You can park on the street or people just park orderly on the side of the gas station. As long as you're not a dick, it's all good. The very best! Famoso Mexican Street Food is best. More...
Great place, great people, great happy hour deal. 3 tacos for 5 bucks? That's insane. These are good tacos too. Churros are crazy good too.
We had Famoso at our wedding on 3/18/2017 and it was freaking AWESOME. I cannot convey well into words how good the food was but I will make an attempt here. They make the tortillas on site which is extremely next level in my opinion. The sauces were delicious and actually one of them was really hot which we were stoked about, instead of trying to wash it down for the masses. The meats were on point, all cooked on site as well, and the service was top notch, super friendly people and really just trying to spread the love. It was a superior experience and totally reasonably priced. I will always have a place in my heart for these people and of course the food. If you are having and event, of any kind, at any time, and any place, you would be sincerely missing out by not including Famoso :) Love you guys thank you SO much for making our wedding extra special and delicious!!! This place is simply amazing!
Really tasty authentic Mexican. Had the fish taco and shrimp taco. Both very good. Also the Cali Diablo Burrito is delicious!
I got the queso taco and the California taco. The queso was like fried cheese as the tortilla, and the California had fries in it. Very different, very flavorful and delicious!!!! More...

Good food. Good prices. On the trolley line in Downtown San Diego.
Me gustan los nachos! Rikisimos!!
Great fish tacos
Perfect tacos and the churros were also amazing. Highly recommend the pollo asada taco, that one was my fave.
Food is tasty. Girl behind the counter was very friendly.
The queso taco and the carne asada fries are amazing. The Famoso taco was a little salty and greasy but everything else was so damn awesome I won't even drop a star. This place is amazing
Best Gourmet Avocado taco ever!!
Real carne asada tacos al carbon, smoke and all, in downtown San Diego. Salsas are ok, spicy as they should be for a decent taco, be careful with the habanero one, it is real good and hot.
So glad I found this place! Absolutely incredible food. Went to Mexico early the same day and this food was better than anything I had over the border. Prices are worth it!
Carne asada fries are very good, and Cali Diablo burrito of course. Treat yourself on a cheat day:)
Staff was friendly and efficient. Tacos were amazing!!
Famoso steak and shrimp tacos are delicious, happy hour for 3 tacos is $5 which is incredible
This is a great little place just outside the Gaslamp. Super nice people. They should have their beer and wine license soon and will be staying open late. Try their Queso Taco, so good!
Quesotaco and adobada are the best. Great place to go on Taco Tuesday!
Love the happy hour tacos. 3 for $5.
Cortez Cremations and Funeral Services
Extremely professional catering services. One of my family's hired thier catering services for a celebration of life and everyone was extremely happy with the delicious gourmet food. There not your ordinary taco service, these are more gourmet tacos which are amazingly delicious! Highly recommend them, for ALL occasions. More...
Fast great tasting food. I would recommend al pastor tacos with all the salsas. My favorite salsa is the habañero pineapple.
Carl Joel M.
Dropped in for lunch. They happened to have Happy hour by that time so iy was 3 taco for $5. Served really nice and put some effort in the food.
The tacos here are really tasty! They have some unique and delicious salsas as well. The restaurant is also kept very clean. My only complaint is that the tacos did have some fat pieces in them but they were still delicious! I've been here several times and it's always been good. More...
The best thing about this place is the service. The people are nice, the outside tables are clean and shaded, the salsa bar is always full, and your tacos are made with care. The pollo and carne asada has a barbeque finish that compliments your item with a household taste and really makes this place stand out. Happy Hour (2-6 everyday) is the jackpot--three tacos, any way you like them, for $5, and on taco tuesdays, the beer is only $3. You can drink outside and enjoy the sun. Bring your friends, sitting outside is a lively, fun experience. All in all the food is unique, authentic, and filling, and the service will make you smile. This is a special place, and i recommend it to all. More...
Wow. I am so happy they deliver! I was exhausted in my hotel and the driver was so nice. The queso taco was a little much for me, the cheese was overwhelming but I'm glad I tried it. I loved the pastor and the fish taco was amazeballs! About to chow on some churros and pass out. Would absolutely recommend if you are in the area More...
Awesome tacos at a great price. I came here during their taco happy hour (any 3 regular or specialty tacos for $5) and was amazed at how tasty the tacos were. I'll definitely be coming back.
Happened to come in for a late lunch today and hit up the taco happy hour, which was awesome! 3 tacos for $5! The queso taco was outstanding so cheesy and crunchy! Also tried the California taco with Asada and the fish taco which were both quite yummy. Homemade corn tortillas and yummy salsa and sauces, all the way around delicious. Parking is a bit tricky and requires walking and patience so give yourself extra time. More...
Don't order on Eat 24, call it in or order there . They don't check the order until you get there. I have placed 3 orders and they seem perplexed Everytime I walk in as If they don't know what I'm talking about. If you're going to offer a service make sure you support it. The best part was the guy at the desk was like you should have called it in. More...
Excellent queso tacos with asada. Shrimp tacos are also yummy. Chicken tacos are a little dry and so so. Taco tuesday is a great deal. Best churros I ever had.
Ordered the regular street tacos, rice n beans for $10. Very good! The carne asada was good, but the Adobada.. was FIRE ( not spicy, just amazing )!!!! So so good!! I also ordered the Queso taco de adobada ... sweet baby infant Jeezus!! Mind blown!!! Next time im getting a 12 pack of adobada queso tacos! I saw someone order the california diablo burrito.. i though it was a small infant being handed to a customer!! That thang is HUGE ( aaaay.. cochino!)!!! Saw someone order the fries ... those looked Photo shopped!! they looked sooo good!! Hands down the best adobada iv'e had in the last few months. Very friendly service, AND the truck looked SUPER clean ( i like that ) !!!! cant wait for them to come back! More...
By far one of the best taco places around downtown! They really know what they're doing over here. From the tortillas to the salsas, every dish has been well thought out and executed perfectly. Coming back later tonight! P.s. $5.00 for 3 gourmet tacos is a steal. If you guys are fans of Lucha Libre, this place will make you feel right at home. More...
The food was delicious, portions were generous, service was good. My Michelada could have used a little more lime but was good nonetheless. I can't wait to return to San Diego so i can eat here again. More...
Fantastic tacos and churros! I'm visiting the area, and was lazy so I had them delivered. I'm sure they would have been even better had I gone to the location -- but even so- everything was great! I got a grilled fish taco, and a cheese taco with al pastor. I'm very picky about al pastor and Famoso's is perfect. And FYI- the cheese on the taco is melted until it runs over the tortilla and becomes crispy! I was not prepared for that- and I loved it!!The Churros filled with Bavarian cream are a beautiful ending. There are 3 long churros in an order.I will definitely return! More...
Best Best Best Tacos in San Diego - friendly staff, fast service - they gave out free bean soup tonight it was so good , churros was perfect - thanks to Alex for the recommendation, def coming back again ! Oh yes - I love the music video selection tonight - Queen Madonna ! More...
Closed sundaysFinally got it worked out. Excellent food! Great place, excellent customer service. We ordered the cali diablo burrito( delicious), famoso taco (my favorite), cheese taco, famoso fries, famoso nachos and street tacos (carne asada was very good). My favorite meat was the al pastor, I usually don't like this meat because it is usualLy too salty for me, but I really loved the flavor here. Also, carne asada was excellent, I love carne asada. My family of 8 loved every bit of it. Huge portions of food and great prices. I will be visiting famoso whenever we visit SD. I would highly recommend. More...
Very good first time experience. We have food trucks come every day to my office so I get to try a lot of different food and this joint was pretty darn good and also a good value as far as food trucks go. I went with their famoso combo which indulged one gourmet taco(shrimp taco), one street taco(al pastor), and a TJ dog for $13. Not bad in my opinion when everything I'm seeing lately from food trucks is typically $10 and up. I hope this truck stays in the lineup at work but if they are ever in your hood, you should give them a try. More...
This place is awesome! Great Tacos. Lots to choose from and it's not your ordinary taco shop. This is gourmet street Tacos at their finest. There Queso taco is so good, crunchy cheese and meat of your choice garnished with cilantro tomatoes and they have some great choices for salsas, how can you go wrong. Definitely a must try. I also had the fish taco, so fresh and crispy on the outside, so moist on the inside! I definitely give this place 2 thumbs up! More...
The food is delicious. I had the fish taco and the specialty taco, which is covered in cheese.. if you are looking for some good greasy "street"food definitely check this place out.
Excellent service..even doe we came late..and was taking so long with order trying to pull up app..food was so delicious thank you
Three tacos for $5 on Tuesday is a great deal. I had the fish, famosa and California all were freshly made, high quality and good flavours.
Taco Tuesday. $5 for any three tacos. Got a Famoso, Queso, and shrimp taco. Home made tortillas (at least tasted like it) and fresh hot tasty ingredientsSalsas are all good, especially liked the Rojo and the cilantro creme sauce. Famoso is delicioso!
I've been on a search for the best cali burritos around Orange County. This cali diablo burrito is easily top 3. Meat is seasonal well, not over or under cooked, and you're paying for what you get . Huge portions! The carne asada street fries are pretty dank as well. You got to catch this food truck early cuz their carne sells out fast! Very satisfied. More...
Best tacos I've had in my life. And I live in San Diego. Had the veggie taco, the famoso taco and shrimp taco. All amazing.
This is a great little place for cheap tacos in the gaslamp districtEven better value around happy hour!
I've eaten at the Famoso food truck several times, which is always delicious, now I finally made it to the still newish restaurant, which now serves beer. Their tacos aren't exactly traditional, but are amazing and clean, no greasy taste, plus the salsa that disguises its heat until you finish eating, maybe my favorite tacos I've had north of the border. More...
The Al Pastor tacos were very tasty but the shrimp tacos were the best! Love the outside seating and attentive service.
Went during happy hour got $5 for 3 tacos. Well worth the price since we got 4 sets. Got the carne asada, shrimp tacos, fish tacos and famoso tacos. All very good! Meat was well seasoned and juicy. Famoso had both shrimp and carne topped with avocado & chipotle. The shrimp and carne asade were very flavorful as well. They have sauces by the exit if you want to grab some. I tried the hibiscus tea it was sweet and very good. Everything was well worth the price and the employees are sweet! We got bean soup as we waited and it was delicious! Theres benches outside and a few seats insideParking is metered close by $1.25 per hour (coin and credit accepted) More...
Famoso is delicioso!!!! The Cali Diablo burrito is reminiscent of Lucha Libre' s surfing Cali burrito with a few noticeable modifications... Famoso' s meat is more flavorful and cooked to perfection, however they did use a tad bit more fries and less sauce than Lucha Libre besides these small drawbacks the burrito was first class and I can't wait to go back and try the other items on there menu. Ps the staff was very friendly and the food is served in a timely manner... More...
Shrimp tacos today were on hit with the grilled cheese style red cabbage and sauce very delicious will be trying it again very soon!
Famoso tacos, the highlight of my first day of jury duty! It was worth the half mile walk away from the court house. I got the famoso taco, queso taco with al pastor, and fish taco. Each taco was $4. Price point is actually very reasonable when you see the tacos size and quality. Lucky me, it was cyber Monday, and I got a buy two tacos get one free deal. I was offered free bean soup while I was waiting. The bean soup was so good! It was ham and pinto beans in a flavorful broth topped with cilantro and shredded cheese. All the hot sauces were really good. The bright orange one was the spiciest. Really spicy actually. The dark red one was perfect, nice and smokey with the right amount of heat. The creamy orange and green ones were similar to what you would find at Lucha Libre or Oscar's Mexican Seafood. And did I mention free spicy carrots?! My favorite. Now on to the tacos. First of all, don't get the fish taco. The batter was too thick, soggy, and not fully cooked. It was the most disappointing thing about Famoso, but everything else, bean soup, salsa, spicy carrots, service, the deal I got, my other tacos were top notch so I'm just going to pretend I didn't have the fish taco. Two tacos is enough for a meal, especially the queso taco and famoso taco. Both the queso and famoso tacos had this tasty grilled cheese in it. This reminded me of the grilled cheese in the tacos at Puesto, but at a much better price. The al pastor was nice and charred topped with some pineapple. The famoso taco had carne asada and shrimp wrapped in the grilled cheese. I might be wrong, but the tortilla also looked really fresh, possibly homemade. I love homemade tortillas! I highly recommend Famoso!! More...
Had a chicken burrito with avocado and it was bomba. Good price and great service. Food portion was great too.
They honored their offer. What else can we ask for? Good food and responsive service... I would suggest a visit.
They have a HUGE burrito called Cali Diablo Burrito, it's like a california burrito with a twist, you must be very hungry to finish the whole thing, they have a really good habanero sauce, with the right amount of hot. Definitely coming back to try their tacos More...
Such a quick and easy menu! In no time, I had ordered an al pastor street taco, the famoso taco, and the street fries. The street tacos were only $3 which is nice, and they aren't shabby with their meat, cilantro, and onions. The famoso taco was something different altogether, with its own fried wrapped tortilla within a taco tortilla. It was nice and crunchy and there was plenty of meat inside, including shrimp. The street fries speak for themselves, although I wish they had used slightly thicker fries to avoid them getting soggy so quickly. The food took about 10 minutes but it was all very well worth the wait. The salsas are nice and spicy, but watch out for even the pico de gallo, which had a kick! The only bad thing is that they don't have a bathroom, so you can't wash your hands after all the taco damage. They offer hand sanitizer, but had I not had hand wipes in the car, I would've felt icky the whole time. Beware! More...
Yes, this place is amazing! I ordered through Yelp and delivery was on time and the food was so good.
This truck was at an event I was attending. I was not able to try many things from the menu since it was a catered event. The trio street tacos were delicious.
A minimalist menu approach for a Mexican taco shop for sure. Sometimes less is best for.a small place Taco Tuesday works well here and they had a decent frijole soup. They are missing no sugar beverages and the salsa bar needs to be moved and updated, however the food was tasy and the portions on point. More...
Wow. I was very impressed with this place. However, I have to disclose that I ordered the food via Postmates. So, it's very possible that it actually deserves 5 stars. I can only review the food that I ate though. I ordered the "combo" that includes a TJ dog, gourmet taco, and street taco for $9.99. What a great deal! My boyfriend loved the hot dog. For the "gourmet taco," I ordered the famoso, which was supposed to have beef and shrimp with cheese, avocado, and other toppings. It was okay for the most part, but it only had one piece of shrimp in it. My boyfriend said that bite was amazing. So, the taco has potential if they give you more than one shrimp. The carne asada taco was fine, but nothing special. I also ordered the al pastor fries. I loved the toppings and the meat had a good flavor. And the portion is huge! If you can finish an order, you deserve a prize! It's a great value. Finally, the churros are very good. They were filled with cream. A good dessert after a hearty meal. More...
This was a quick stop during a break to get away from some drama for a little bit and was a perfect chill spot with good customer service and nice people and good food! Nothing extraordinary but definitely a 4-4.2 out of 5! Worth eating at for sure. More...
Very professional staff and great service. They catered a celebration of life for one of my family's and they were extremely happy with the level of respect and professionalism for the occasion. I will definitely recommend them again to my customers and families. More...
WOW. The cali diablo burrito we ordered was SO good...I was really impressed. It was HUGE, especially for the price, but that didn't compromise on flavors. I was just visiting San Diego, but this was a solid place!! We went to a different place for a burrito the day before, and this place was far better. We wish we went here twice!! I'm so glad we checked it out. The taco I got was less exciting for me, but the burrito alone gives this place 5 stars. More...
Good mexican food place, they have a food truck too. Friendly service, limited menu but what they make thet make well.
Best tacos and carne asada fries.
Great street tacos and a great operators. Try the Pollo asado, awesome. Very helpful and friendly counter person
The Cali Diablo burrito is the size of an 8-year-old's leg. When the girl brought it out to the table I laughed because there was a better chance of Jared from Subway getting a job teaching gym at a middle school than me finishing this thing. It was cut in half and each half wouldve been a big burrito on its own. My kind of place. The staff was super friendly, place wasn't too crowded and everything was awesome. I'll be back. More...
Great food, great service, incredibly friendly staff. Will be back for sure. Cali diablo burrito is money!
TL;DR solid food, friendly staff, order to go.Breakfast burrito is the bomb. It's a serious 5 lb burrito full of deliciousness, especially when you liberally apply the house salsas. It takes a while to cook up, but it's worth it. 2 people with healthy appetites could split one and they'd both be full. Staff was nice. No rush to order if you're checking out the menu, answered any questions. When they orders were taking a while to come out, they handed cups of bean soup to everyone waiting on their food.Take your food to go though. It's right near the trolley tracks, so you have to deal with that noise and unpleasant scenery. Additionally, there's a number of homeless who will walk by and beg. In the 15 minutes I was there waiting for my food I was approached twice, but saw a lot more walking by. One of the homeless men actually came in to the patio area and went around to each one of the patrons, giving you crap if you didn't give him a buck. He stole the grill scraper from the grill, then went inside to beg for money from the tip jar. Apparently he took a handful of business cards from inside because when he left he threw some on the grill (which was still hot). More...
Super fresh and tasty tacos. Great salsa with many options. Thank you for the great service.

We had a retirement ceremony and Famoso was by far the best street taco vender! They showed up on time, set up quickly and had the best customer service! I was very impressed as well as all the guests. Everyone was so impressed by the fresh handmade tortilla. They have never seen that before, was impressed by it and absolutely loved everything that was offered to them. Our guests were so impressed by Famoso that they are going to use this vendor for their future retirement ceremony! Thanks famoso for making our ceremony great! You guys are the bomb! More...
Been meaning to try this place. And has great food at good prices. We are outside on the porch good atmosphere and views. Staff is friendly and helpful on recommendations. Definitely coming back for the next combo mix meal. More...
I was Drawn to this place because of an article that I red on Reader magazine. The tacos were delicious, definitely authentic and different. In my opinion, they needed more flavor but the originality is definitely there. The staff was really friendly, I placed the order through Yelp and I couldn't find the place. When I called, one of the staff members offered to bring us the order across the street! I would try their tacos again, they're definitely worth the try and hopefully this time around i can enjoy them more More...
A great place on the streets of San Diego to grab SoCals unofficial food. We tried a variety of things here and everything was top notch.
Lots of homeless people, in fact nothing but homeless people walking around. However, this is great food. I had the Cali burrito with el pastor. Good stuff. Big enough for two meals. More...
Authentic mexican food that delivers! Nothing but the best overtime. The Carne Asada nachos are hands down the best I've had. Delicious.
The 4 stars are for the famoso taco. Seriously, it is so delicious. I also ordered the street taco trio. That comes with 3 street tacos of your choice ( I got two carne asada & 1 al pastor) with rice and beans. The street tacos were not my favorite. They didn't have much flavor. The carne asada tasted like nothing. I ended up giving both to my boyfriend. They could've used seasoning and a little more time on the grill or something. I finished most of the al pastor, but could've done without it. The beans were good. The rice was dry, but i will be getting that again. I have a feeling the rice is usually very good. I ordered on UberEats, so I don't know anything about the restaurant itself. I had an issue with my order & Famoso called me to give me options. So, A+ for Customer Service, Famoso taco, and the beans. I will never order the street tacos again. But, I will be ordering from here again. More...
We were looking for a quick lunch and saw one of the Famoso Street Food trucks. We ordered a couple of Taco plates. They came with rice and beans. It was good and they provided some salsa. It was very hot and it was an enjoyable meal. More...
Where do I begin its like Lolita's but way way better!!!! You get what you pay for I got a Cali Diablo burrito for $10.50 which is quite a lot but the proportion I mean it's big I got full with half will definitely go back
Great food, and Wonderful service!!! Thanks, for explaining the menu and helping an out of town guest!!!
I'm a big critic When it comes to Mexican food and this place is the place to grub if your in the downtown area . Good portion sizes and good tasting food nothing bad to say !
Just when you think you know San Diego tacos, you discover what are unquestionably the best tacos in the city. Begging for more. Take this to the bank.!
Yeah, this place is dope. Heard they won some taco award and then saw a Groupon for this place, so I had to try it. $4 specialty tacos became $2 each with the Groupon, which is a steal. Even at $4 they're good because they're big and filled with awesome ingredients. Not your typical street taco (though they have those too for $3), these are fancy little things. Great lunch today at Famoso! I spoke with the owner, Angel, and his staff and they were all so friendly! I sampled the bean soup, and it was also very good. I have heard great things about this place, and it definitely stands true ! I ordered the queso taco with al pastor, and the California taco! I also tried the churros with Bavarian cream, delicious! I ordered through UberEATS, so I can't comment about the physical location or customer service, but the FOOD. OH MY GOSH. THE FOOD.A few coworkers and I ordered a Famoso Taco, three Carne Asada Tacos, and Street Fries. I've never had anything like the Famoso Taco before. It has shrimp, carne asana, onions, avocado, cilantro, and cotija ALL ROLLED IN GRILLED CHEESE. SAY. WHAT?! The taco itself was super good. The grilled cheese was really soft and not too heavy. The ratio of shrimp/carne asada to the rest of the ingredients was on par. The taco was a LITTLE greasy, but what good Mexican food isn't? I would 100% get this taco again. This taco may be one of the reasons I return to Famoso. Famoso Taco was $3.99 and I thought it was an expensive downtown price, but after I received the taco and saw everything it came with, the price was justified. After I finished the taco, I was pretty much full. $3.99 to be full? I'll take it.My coworker ordered carne asada tacos, but asked for there to be no guac, no onions, no cilantro, and to add cheese and the order came to us 100% accurate. Sometimes restaurants don't get orders right when you're ordering in house, so it was amazing and refreshing that the order came to us correct. She said the tacos were delicious. The three carne asada tacos were $2.99 total. #WINNING I haven't found street tacos that cheap sine I left the Central Valley where taco trucks on the side of a country road are a thing.Lastly, the Street Fries. I've had many carne asada fries. I've tried many in Fresno, Los Angeles, and here in San Diego, but I think Famoso's Street Fries have quickly become one of my favorites. Easily in my top 5. One of my favorite carne asada fries here in San Diego are at La Puerta downtown, but these give them a run for their money. The Street Fries come with carne asada, fresh cut potatoes, shredded cheese, cotija cheese, guac, pico de gallo, and a chipotle and cilantro sauce. You can also order them with Pollo Asada or Al Pastor. The chipotle and cilantro sauce is a creamy sauce, so it's not too spicy. The Street Fries are $8.99, which might seem like a hefty price tag, but I think that's around the same price I usually pay here in San Diego. These fries are worth the almost $10 price. My coworkers and I were already full from the other things we had tried, but we couldn't put the fork down when it came to the Street Fires. We eventually gave them away to another coworker, but I'm sure we could have devoured them if they had stayed at our table. Also, I THINK their corn tortillas are homemade?! I could be wrong, but I've never had store bought corn tortillas that were as thick and soft as these. If you're in the area, the Street Fries and Famoso Taco are definitely worth a stop. More...
This place is a Gem! Hands down my husband and I had the best tacos ever. We didn't have to wait long for the food, and it was very fresh and delicious. My 3 year old is super picky and loved the tacos. Shrimp tacos are AWESOME. The staff is very friendly as well. We were helped by both Beto and Ana. We were not sure what to order, and Beto's recommendation on the food selection was awesome! He made sure we were taken care of. This will be my first stop when coming out to San Diego. More...
Great spot. Owner and server is extra nice. I got the question taco, the famoso taco, and a fish taco. I sat inside and while I waited the server brought me some type of soup out that was delicious. The fish taco came out first and was bigger than I expected. All the toppings are really fresh and I could definitely tell it was made to order. One bite and I was in heaven...definitely getting that again. Next up wad the other two tacos. The queso taco had a nice twist in that somehow he made cheese into a taco shell and it was done perfectly. I mean it's gotta be hard to do without overcooking the cheese. That was good but not the best of the three. The famoso was delicious too! Carne asada and shrimp with wonderful toppings. All in all, the fish tacos trumped them all! This place is definitely A1 in my book. More...
Super awesome street tacos! And great service- Thank you Natalie for your kindness and genuinely warm smile!Be sure to sample the bean soup while you wait, it's DELICIOUS!!!
#1 in town according to Tacotopia! I agree and voted for them myself. Just go and make sure to try the TJ Dog as well! Nom, nom, nom.
In the mood for some tacos Yelp lead me to Famoso. As we approached Famoso I have to admit I was not to sure. It is located in an area with not all that much going on and plenty of homeless people hanging around across the street. Don't let that stop you though. The guy at the counter was very friendly as explained the menu and took our order. He gave us a cup for some water and we sat down outside to wait for our food. Shortly after sitting down he brought out some bean soup and tortilla chips to hold us over while they prepared our meal. The bean soup was quite yummy. Our food arrived shortly afterwards. I had ordered the taco trio, which came with a pollo, carne asada, and al pastor taco along with some rice and beans on the side. There is also a number of hot sauces you can help yourself to. Everything was very flavorful and I became very full. I'd definitely recommenced this place. More...
Got one each of the speciality tacos, even after delivery they were all amazing, unique combos, fresh flavors, and filling but not heavy. I think the best was the grilled queso but really it's almost impossible to choose. Highly recommend this place for great fresh food for little $ More...
This is a great place. The food is fantastic and the service here is great and the people here are just as great there was a nice lady named Ana and she was very nice and polite. I will 100% recommended to eat at this restaurant. More...
I've had the street fries on another occasion and they were great. But wow... That Cali Diablo Burrito.Hefty price tag Delicious burrito.I hope to run into this elusive truck once again... More...
I had the Carne Asada and Pollo tacos with fries and guacamole they were so big I could hardly eat them with my hands.
I was expecting a truck but this is an actual brick and mortar place. There are some stools at a counter inside and about 5 tables outside. It's not much to look at (it's across the street from an empty lot with homeless people camped out and next to a building being renovated) but the food is great!I got two fish tacos - one grilled and one fried but I couldn't really tell the difference. They were both huge portions with lettuce, pico de gallo and sour cream (but more like a thin crema). It was very refreshing and filling. They also gave out free chips (nothing special) and bean soup which was very flavorful. You can get a combo deal that comes with rice and beans but the rice was kind of dry so I would just stick to the tacos. The guy at the counter was very friendly. Overall, a great lunch spot. More...
Whoever said that they thought the tacos were small must be kidding. I ordered the shrimp and Famoso taco and they were huge. I didn't even touch the rice and beans. Great flavor for both and will definitely recommend More...
Literally best tacos I've ever had. Pretty much speechless at this point so yeah... Eat here. Haha. New favorite!
Amazing tacos! You must try this place! The queso taco made me question life as we know it. Wow.
Best fish tacos in San Diego. I could eat them every day. Yelp is wrong though they aren't open on weekends.
Awesome food. The TJ Dog & Famoso Taco are amazing. Service was extraordinary. Will definitely comeback and bring friends.
Enjoyed the carne asada street tacos and fish tacos. Tortilla's were fresh and didn't break like some. First time here and definitely won't be our last. Customer service was great and even received a sample of their bean soup which was really good. More...
Really like this place! Really, *really* like this place. All the feel of your typical mom/pop Mexican food shack but with several twists to the menu you won't see anywhere else. It's a little off the beaten downtown path, right on the border of Scary Downtown but so worth it. I got the Cali Diablo Burrito because...spicy! The menu mentions carne asada which was fine with me but the lady taking my order suggested al pastor which is ultra-cool with me, too. They wound up serving asada and I was still fine with it! Next time I'll make sure I get the pork...Normally I'm skeptical when it comes to burritos having fries inside, but the extra starch mixed perfectly with the shrimp and asada and I'm a believer now. The other thing that caught my attention was all the homemade salsas. Being a spicy food aficionado, I dove straight for the spiciest ones: the red and the habanero. The red was unexpectedly hot, meaning way hotter than I suspected. Not a problem for me, I just needed an extra handful of napkins! The habanero also had a pineapple back to it. Well thought-out mix of spicy and sweet. If you're into habanero, go for it. You won't be disappointed.Left full and with my spicy mojo working at level 9. Can't ask for much more, except additional trips to Famoso and trying more menu options. Great work, everyone! I'll be back soon! More...
Great place! Great service! Great ambient! Most of all BOMB FOOD! My sister and I came for the weekend for a convention and being pregnant you can imagine how many munchies and cravings I can get. Last day here and with the craving of having a good shrimp taco we found this place on Yelp. The pictures were great but the food was even better! I just love this place! We both did. Best damn tacos I've tasted ever. Had the Fish Taco, Shrimp Taco, Famoso Taco and an Al Pastor taco. To die for!!! Try their frijoles charros... The flavor is so original and fresh. Their meat is so tender and flavorful. The staff's customer service is incredible too. I just can't find enough words to explain how impressive this place is. Thanks Juan, Beto, and Angel!!!! More...
It was all awesome. The AL Pastor street taco was spot on, could just keeping eating them. And I've never had anything like the Famoso Taco but it was really good. Wish I could find Mexican like this back home, it would be a regular fix. More...
These guys catered a park picnic we attended. Their tacos were simply delicious!!!We had pork, beef and chicken - all three were perfectly seasoned and amazingly tasty. They offered a bunch of sauces ranging from mild to very hot that accompanied tacos and the rice & beans very nicely. No matter what I will say do these tacos justice - if you have a chance, just try them. More...
This place is amazing! I got the hot dog the cheese taco and a regular taco .... It was so good!!!! Definitely my go to spot from now on when visiting SDI went to the new shop location and the man working there was so nice and made me feel welcomed.
Just discovered this place by accident as I was crossing the trolley tracks after work. It's a hole in the wall and those are usually the best places. Ordered the grilled fish taco and queso taco with pork and guacamole with a large hibiscus drink. Both were mouth watering. Staff very friendly and down-to-earth. I have lived in San Diego for 10 years now and work for the government downtown. These are the best tacos I have tried so far in San Diego ----no joke. I wish the location was closer to my office otherwise I would be eating here at least twice a week. My co-workers love Mexican food and I am sure they will love this place. More...
These guys are amazing. We had them at an event where they came to the beach cottages in mission beach and they made everyones night. Not just because of how amazing the food was, but the personal touch to everything they did and their amazing attitude made the night! More...
A little place with great street tacos and friendly customer service! We tried the carne asada, al pastor, chicken and fish. All excellent! $3 for one street taco. More...
The tacos here are amazing! You must try the Famoso taco! I love that they put crispy cheese inside the tacos. Try it with the habanero salsa so good.. This is a great place to stop by for lunch and they are even open late until 9pm. The owner himself works alongside his employees and they are all so nice, great customer service. A must try! More...
Great service. Food, well better than you expect. Had the California taco and a cane Assad taco. Both amazing. Fish tacos, according to the wife were better than many she has paid twice as much for. Fresh and tasty. Will do again.
We almost walked out because we were expecting something else but we're glad we stayed, we just found our new favorite mexican downtown.
Found this gem while looking for a taco shop downtown. Absolutely amazing food! Got the number 2 combo with a fish taco and a queso taco. The cashier convinced me to get the al pastor instead of carne asada, greatest decision I've ever made. Will definitely be back again and again! More...
Probably the best Mexican food I've ever had. The famoso taco was incredibly delicious. I didn't know if a two taco combo would be enough considering I hadn't eaten all day, but i was full after just one taco but continued to eat the rest of the plate because it was just so great. The staff was super helpful and friendly! Make sure to try their cilantro cream sauce-it's amazing! More...
The tacos were all amazing as were the churros. The nachos were pretty salty when I went, but I got a message from the owner that they're making some changes so hopefully that's all sorted out. Giving them the star back for good outreach. More...
Great little spot, you would never guess from the outside but the people are great and the food is amazingly tasty. The tortillas are super fresh and the crunchy cheese tortilla is the best thing i have eaten in awhile.
I returned to Famoso. My prior visit was just ok, but I think they were just having an off day.My most recent experience there was 5 stars in every way. The owner was working and he was professional, courteous and efficient. The food (the 2 Famoso taco special) was terrific. Again, huge portions -- only the most ravenous will even be able to finish both tacos! And this time the flavors were on point, everything cooked to perfection and loved the flavors. The owner is also talking about adding a habanero salsa to the salsa bar which I think would be great. It's not hot enough until your eyes and nose start running! More...
Probably the best food I've had out of a truck ever! I heard the Famoso truck was stopping in my area and I was so excited to give it a try. I ordered the Famoso combo -$12 and Famoso churros. My toddler had the kids meal (chicken on a tortilla and cheese quesadilla). The combo includes a TJ Hot Dog, 1 street taco and 1 specialty taco. I was unsure how to order so the guy instantly recommended the chicken tacos. They were the bomb dot com. But honestly, they don't compare to the TJ hot dog. It was bacon wrapped, topped with cilantro, onion, tomato, and mayo. Mayo!! That was a first in my life and I will never eat a hot dog without mayo ever again. And I may never eat a hot dog unless it's from this truck again. Seriously people, try the hot dog. Let's also not forget about the cream filled churros. You get three in a order, but the cute guy in the truck snuck another one in. Yum, yum, yum and thank you!! But warning, you get food coma after just one. Their menu also had carne asada fries and items featuring shrimp that I can't wait to try next time I find them. The guys were super helpful and friendly, the truck was clean, and I'd definitely recommend this business to anyone. More...
So after laying in the grass and staring into the sky at balboa park, I decided I was craving churros. Random... I know. But the heart (or stomach) wants what it wants. I hop on my handy dandy Yelp app, in search of this elusive, hot, and crispy treat. Yelp led me here. Yelp doesn't lie. Yelp never fails me. Yelp loves me and wants the best for me. Saw some pics and saw the reviews... Bavarian cream filled churros.. There's no way it can be a bad idea. Pulled up parked, and walked inside. Remember I'm on a mission. Friendly service, got my churros super fast. And they were just amazing. Caressed every taste bud in my mouth. And healed me of my craving. Thank you Famoso. More...
I happened upon this terrific food truck Famoso at the San Diego Credit Union in La Jolla on tuesdays. It was the most amazing fish taco that I have ever tasted and will continue to go back there for more. Quality of food terrific, presentation just as good as any dine in restaurant and served with friendly, caring service. What more could anyone ask! More...
Great tacos!!! The California taco and Queso taco were so flavorful! I love that there were pineapples in the Queso taco also. The service is great. They were so friendly and even spoke to me by name several times. They also gave me a small cup of bean soup with melted cheese to try while I waited, and it was delicious. Whenever I visit San Diego and crave tacos, I'll make sure to come here. More...
Great gourmet tacos! Got a two-taco plate, with friends. Tried their fish (you can choose between grilled and beer-battered, i chose the latter) -- tasty tasty! And their queso taco, (your choice of meat, though they recommend al pastor, which i did) Wow! That's great stuff. Plus the queso part was easy doubly the size of the tortilla (which means a little harder to hold, especially when it is hot!)Drink options are currently what's in the cooler, which includes Mexican coke, bottled water, and several flavors of Fanta! So if you are used to free water with your meal, bring your own! Not a lot of dining space (one indoor counter, and three tables outdoors), so this is mostly a to-go restaurant, akin to a food truck.Great food, not a lot of amenities. More...
Just got back from my second visit to their storefront in two weeks. I waited to come back the second time to make sure it was legit and not a fluke. This place rocks! And that is important in a time when other taco shop type places are popping up downtown. The guy working the counter is super friendly and helpful. That is important!Today I had the #2 combo (two specialty tacos with B&R), with a Famoso Taco and a California Taco with al Pastor. The Famoso Taco is amazing, and the California taco was really good too. They use quality meats and their corn tortillas are sturdy and tasty. This coming from a guy that usually prefers flour tortillas over corn.Last week I got the #1 combo. It has a TJ dog, a specialty taco, and a street taco. The TJ dog was amazing, and both tacos were too. I had the Famoso that time too, and loved it, which is why I had to have it a second time today. The other great thing is they give you a cup of bean soup while you wait for your order. That alone is 5 stars, and I told him they should put it on their menu. More...
Fantastic addition to downtown dining! Loved my carne asada street tacos (high quality, tasty, fresh) but a tad too much salt on the meat. Fresh guac, excellent hot carrots, fresh salsa bar a plus, fast & friendly service. CRAVING the free sample of soup, so tasty. I would stop by just for that once a week at least, maybe take some home for dinner, too. Please add it to your restaurant menu! More...
Great spot, great tacos! Super nice guy at the counter, gave me some soup while waiting too. Disclaimer: I'm from Seattle, so I don't have the best idea of what a good taco tastes like. But I went to a couple other taco places in San Diego, and the ones here were hands down the best tasting and were fucking huge too. More...
Solid storefront for a reliable food truck operation. Fish taco was just right. Lots of moist chunks of fish. Creamy guacamole with tender steak. Friendly staff.
Best tacos EVER!! I got the California and Famoso tacos, and they were amazing. The guy working there (maybe the owner) was so nice and gave me some soup while I was waiting, and that was incredible as well. Ingredients were fresh and tortillas were homemade. Will definitely return. More...
Visited the brick-and-mortar location that opened up last week on C. They've got their full menu, which includes their specialty tacos (2 for $8) and street tacos (3 for $10 with rice and beans).I went for the 2 specialty and got a fish taco and the California taco with carne asada. I thought the price was steep, but the tacos were enormous. The California taco is top-notch. Really good fries and meat, loaded with cheese and guac. Fish tacos are my favorite though and I thought this one was a little bland. Could've used more seasoning and less cabbage. I couldn't finish both tacos anyway so I was satisfied. They've got a salsa bar with a mild green and red, habanero, grilled onions, radishes, jalapenos and spicy carrots. I wish they had a spicy red fish taco salsa, but the habanero was excellent, fruity and flavorful.Service was friendly and fast. They offered me a bean and pork soup while I waited, which was also pretty good. More...
Famoso was outside Thorn Street Brewery and I was happy it was. Awesome to have a good food option convenient. Mostly you'll find typical street taco options (asasa, pollo, al pastor), some interesting gourmet tacos (cali taco), fish tacos, and nachos. Nothing super unique but everything we had was tasty, especially the red salsa (super spicy goodness!). The kids eat free Tuesday was a great gesture - for every adult meal ordered they hooked up a simple chicken taco and quesadilla. Which is perfect for my "plain jane" kids - typically a place will make you order that separate and charge $5 or so each. Not here! The food isn't cheap ($10 for three street tacos, $5 for a gourmet taco, $10 nachos/fries) but after the free kids meal I think it was definitely reasonably priced for a food truck. More...
Really good tacos!!! I liked their al pastor with cheese! Also they have really good salsas!
Tacos are awesome. I usually don't do comparative judging on food since most food live on their own merits but in this case I will compare this with the famous Tacos El Gordo. Hands down the TJ Carne Asada tacos beats TEG anyday. Famoso's meat has more flavor and their guacamole is the real deal. TEG Carne Asada are way to smokey and sometimes bland and dry. As for the Al Pastor Famoso is very good. Every bite was bursting with flavor. I can't tell if it is any better than TEG but I have to go back to TEG just so see. That is how good Famoso Al Pastor is. You can tell the tacos are made with the freshest ingredients. They also serve the tacos to you and have a salsa bar. There red salsa has a big kick.Downfall is that they are food truck prices which we know that can get pricey. But it is well worth it when you go home knowing you chowed down on some good food. Can't wait for Taco Tuesday. More...
The first time eating food from Famoso"s..... loved the Carne Asada taco. Their truck is clean and for someone who doesn't like eating from food trucks, I was quite impressed.
This truck came to my job once and it was delicious!!! Cesar and Beto were the ones who attend me. Very nice, friendly and funny! Great vibes. I got the cheese tacos and OMG! They are the best! This is real authentic Mexican food!! Salsas and chiles!!! More...
We had Angel and the Famoso Gourmet Taco Truck at our event at Camp Run A Mutt Kearny Mesa and it was perfect! The team arrived on time, set up, got cooking, and cleaned up when they were finished. The food was delicious! We chose 3 different selections for our guests. The Shrimp Taco, the Veggie Taco, and the Cali Taco. I had the Shrimp and Cali and both tasted fresh and well made. There was a selection of salsas and hot carrots as well. The food was made to order, which means you might have to wait a few minutes, but it is well worth it.I highly recommend Famoso for your next event, or if you see the truck at an event, swing by and try one of their tacos....it's no wonder they're "Famoso"! Jorge sorta won me over with his politeness before I even tasted the food but I refuse to be a pushover by a pretty face. I ordered the avocado and the shrimp tacos. Who can go wrong with fried avo? Have you ever tried it? No? Holy crap on a cracker. Warm crazy heaven on a tortilla with crunchy slaw and a tangy sauce. As for the shrimp, it is one of my go-to standards. The shrimpies are pretty big, very crunchy and satisfying. All in all a super satisfying meal to go with my Thorn St Brewery beverage. Thanks guys! More...
Food was delicious. They delivered the food to our table at Bolt Brewery in La Mesa which was nice.A little on the pricey side for a food truck and they didn't have several things available that were on the menu.
Beto and Caesar were awesome! Food was amazing. I had at least 10 tacos. Highly recommend to everyone!
Al pastor nachos! Best shit ever, thank you cesar and beto for the great customer service! Will be visiting you soon famosos #fancyfoodtruck #greatfood #customerservice #greatpeople

We used Famoso for catering a Poway Chamber of Commerce event last year here at KIC Restoration. The food was phenomenal and everyone raved. Last night we had our second Chamber event and of course had Famoso cook for us again. Everyone was thrilled. The entire evening there was a line full of people going back for seconds and thirds. Fresh hand-made tortillas make each taco a special treat. Our two cooks this time were Beto/Berto and Caesar, both of whom have great personalities, and were making the entire group laugh throughout the evening. Price is extremely reasonable, we paid about $11/head for three types of tacos, fresh guacamole, beans, chips, three salsas, chips, and serving utensils. One of the best parts is that their preparation becomes kind of like a little show. The open grill is a spectator attraction that had fans all evening. We will continue to use these guys as often as possible. More...
We have rotating food trucks come to our office on a weekly basis and I'm always happy to see the Famoso truck when they pull up. I absolutely LOVE their fish tacos and both Cesar and Beto are super friendly. I need to follow this truck around town (in a non-creepy way). More...

I haven't had carne asada fries since returning to San Diego and was so grateful that Famoso had their food truck at Fall Brewery. First of all, the serving size will feed me for the next three days. But the fries topped off with carne asada, guacamole, sour cream and salsa were off the hook. Cesar has the best customer service and was very welcoming as we ordered. Wow! Famoso's Food truck came to our San Diego 48 Hour Film Project Kickoff event last night and we were blown away by the flavors and authenticity of the food, and the friendliness of their service! The tacos here are in my top 5 favorite of San Diego.I got the Combo for $12 and it was well worth it. The carne Asada street taco was packed with juicy meat. The TJ dog was super delicious, especially with the grilled onions. The Queso taco was the best for me; the edges were crunchy cheese and perfectly melted on the taco. The al pastor was delicious and a great recommendation by the cashier! More...
Their tacos are really good. You should try them at thornst brewery today. Three tacos for only $9. Try their carne asada tacos!
We love Famoso. The food truck comes to Thorn St. Brewery on Tuesdays and we've become regulars. The tacos, the tortas, the nachos, the giant Cali Diablo burrito and the 'kids eat free' on Tuesday nights have us coming back for more. The hot sauces are delish and so are the carrots. Haven't found anything not to like about this place. The Famoso combo is a great option if you want to try out a couple different tacos. And, even my picky eater ate the corn tortilla quesadilla even though flour is his usual.**Update: They no longer serve their delicious torta - this makes me sad - please bring it back:) However, Cesar was very accommodating and came out of the truck to help us choose something else. Mind you, I've had a lot already from this truck and I've never been disappointed. My husband always gets the GIANT Cali Diablo Burrito and loves it. The TJ Dog is amazing. I usually get the Famoso combo so I can have the TJ dog, a regular taco and a gourmet taco. Last night, I chose nachos - generous amount of nachos with the right amount of ingredients. And, those churros, oh those churros - the best!!! More...
Smells delicious! In line now for churros and tacos! My churro was so amazing, perfectly crunchy and not greasy. The service was great and even though it was busy and rainy everyone was all smiles!

Excellent choice: flavorful variety and delivery of fresh ingredients. Fish tacos had a light crispy fresh tasting deep fried batter. The Queso Taco al Pastor was perfect...marinated pork, crisp cheese double tortillas...guacamole and Chile Verde perfect complements to a generous servings. I had an after office pint at Hess Brewery in North Park last week and 'Famoso' had their food truck conveniently set up in the back. I was starving and what better a perfect compliment to a delicious beer than Mexican food!Pretty awesome that they had even the condiments station built into the truck. Pretty friendly service, chatted it up with the cashier for a bit. Ended up ordering the 'Street Fries,' which if I remember correctly, was basically like a carne asada fries kind of plate, but instead of carne asada, it was some seasoned, shredded pork that was even crispy. Plenty of delicious flavors and if you add some red onion, cilantro, lime and picante to it, you will not be disappointed! I ended up eating a spicy interior part of a red chili pepper, somewhere in the plate and burned my mouth for a couple of minutes...was sweatin it out no joke. Beer wasn't helping even haha, but eventually it subsided. Watch out for those!! Otherwise, delicious options, a bit on the pricier side of Mexican food, but perhaps that's the convenience of it coming from a food truck. Good to know they do catering too! More...
Taco Taco TacoI tried all of the types of street taco from this food truck and I was blown away. Its not truck/street food - it was literally gourmet. I was floored at the size, flavor, and presentation. The carne asada tacos were only surpassed by the chorizo taco which was easily the best taco I can ever remember eating. More...

Famoso was the food truck that was at Bolt Brewery in La Mesa last night. The food was AWESOME!! We had a large group since we were celebrating my husband's Birthday. Everyone ate off of the truck, and everyone was extremely satisfied. I wanted something a little lighter than the Carne Asada Fries, so they substituted the fries with lettuce and cabbage. I cannot even begin to tell you how good it was. I am hoping they will add it to their regular menu. Looking forward to another excellent meal off their truck = ) More...
The food hit the spot in a great way and the Street fries were on point with flavor and crunch. The Bavarian creme churros were uniquely outstanding. Great experience!!!

He went above and beyond, took care of us. From a mulita, pastor taco, to insane fries.........a ton of different things....wow! Reasonable prices too! Thank you very much! More...

My hubby was hungry so We decided to try 2 for $8 gourmet tacos, we got the cali taco which has French fries, meat, guacamole, sour creme and pico. It was delicious! Although I'm not a corn tortilla type of person, if rather have flour. The tacos are pretty small but the quantity of meat and everything else is huge! They pack it in there. The staff is very friendly as well. More...

Since my last time in Tijuana I had never tried good Mexican food over here but this guys had also specialties like avocado taco, fish taco, shrimp taco and so long. The best I would say it's the " Cali Diablo Burrito " a huge $10 burrito which is carne asada, spicy shrimp, fresh cut potatoes and pico de gallo salsa. Great food and amazing customer experience. Keep it up guys!!!!! More...

I've been living in Los Angeles most of my life and I have become extremely picky about my Mexican food. This was the best taco I have had in my life. Seriously. Do it.
So my wife and I have lived in Golden Hill for almost a year and we are very health conscious. This truck always smells amazing but we never tried it until recently. And yeah, it was awesome. I had some carne asada tacos and chicken tacos and my wife had a fish taco and what was like a grilled cheese taco and everything was awesome. Very fresh, too and not so greasy. I'm not a big fan of the Mexican food out here because it is so bland and greasy, but this place is really, really good. I definitely understand why every time I walk by at night, they are busy. We were working in San Diego, out for dinner on Friday night, and found these guys. What a treat! The tacos were authentic and wonderful, especially the grilled chicken and chorizo ones, and the crew was great. They made us feel welcome, told us all about the menu and food and the grill and all of it, which I love, being a foodie myself. I'll try to find them next time I'm back there for sure.. More...
Best taco truck I've been to in a while. They park right down the street from my house and more than once I've gone down to them because I'm too lazy to cook. The $1 Taco Tuesdays are great, but it's also worth it on other days. The carne asada and pollo tacos are fantastic, come loaded with guacamole and meat. The potato tacos are a treat as well. They also have a nice salsa selection and a variety of drinks. If you're not local, parking is going to be an issue (as anywhere in Golden HIll). The guys are really nice and fun to talk to on a slower night. More...
