I celebrated my 30th birthday on yesterday, and I just say, this was such a great experience! We was welcomed by Will and mastered by Lauren. Both had exceptional service and gave us laughs throughout the entire experience. It was my first time going and we did one of the hardest missions, being two of us. I will definitely be back! Logan and Emily were our first host and game master for Mansion Murder and it was great. Love the set up and clues! Logan and Emily were great also and so friendly! So much so that we came back same day for a 2nd room and did Mayday and Patrick was our host and Game Master with Logan's help at the end. Again, a great room and game masters! We escaped from the Mansion Murder!! I highly recommend that game. This was my second time at Escapology in Columbia, I definitely plan to return! The staff is always great! We had Will and Reese this visit and they weren’t afraid to joke back and forth with our group before and after our escape (during we were all serious because we wanted to win! Did the Budapest Express room for my birthday with some friends. The puzzles were challenging without feeling completely random, and it took us almost the whole hour to escape. There were some unfortunate technical glitches with the room, but the manager called us after the fact and went above and beyond to make it right. Emma was our game host and did an amazing job! We booked the Antidote room for my daughters 12th birthday party. All we had to do was show up! The girls had a blast figuring out the game, and enjoyed the pizza and cupcakes afterwards! No clean up for mom made it a wonderful birthday experience! Yesterday was my seventh (and eighth) escape room. Was down visiting family, from charlotte. We did Under Pressure and Murder House (thing, not sure of actual title. ) Both were superb. The sets were fantastic, very detailed (a big plus) and the puzzles were spot on. Some escape rooms have very contrived paths, and nonsensical connections - each room at escapology, in contrast, was well thought out; the plots and backgrounds were detailed and engrossing - it made the escape experience that much better. When a puzzle makes sense, due to plot and atmosphere, it is so much more satisfying than a random collection of disjointed roadblocks; status quo for a lot of escape rooms. Each room we did at escapology was different, they each allowed someone with different strengths to excel, they respectively required a different mindset to attack. Somebody quick with numbers and patterns would do fantastic in one room, but be frustrated in the next, someone with a strong analytical mind and memory would be tangentially capable in one room, yet operate flawlessly with a different scenario. To even expand on an already great experience, the staff were far and above. Will, our host, was approachable, personable, and was probably the only reason we stayed to do a second room - he seemed like an enthusiast, could discuss other experiences, and appeared to show genuine interest in a tailored experience. Having bad puzzles, but a good host can make an experience; having a nice set can hide bad storytelling; having good puzzles can camouflage a lot of shortcomings... But to have every box checked; great host, great environment, and great puzzles sets this location FAR apart from others... Do not hesitate to book a room, and do not think twice about doing more than one room back to back - it was difficult and fun to change gears and approach the game from multiple angles. More...

Outstanding escape room! It was fabulous. Reece, Will and Natalie made the experience so enjoyable that we booked to do another one tomorrow! The ending to Mono Lisa was quite unique and very exciting. (As it turns out we returned the following day and escaped from two rooms, escaped from two rooms the following day, and one the day after that. The only reason we stopped short of escaping from all seven rooms is because most of our party had to return to Atlanta!) If I could rate Escapology higher than 5 stars I would. The staff is so enthusiastic, fun and professional; the facility is spacious, comfortable and well decorated; and the escape rooms are all unique and challenging. Escapology was a great first escape room experience! My friends and I tried the Budapest Express, a murder mystery room with medium difficulty, and found it to be a very fun challenge- not too frustrating but not too easy. The hints were beneficial without giving too much away and our Game Master, Reese, did a great job of making sure we were on track and everything was going according to plan.
