I have come back, multiple times, to this one because it is a pretty chill and a fun place. usually, when I suggest doing an escape room to first-timers, I recommend this spot first. although small, it provides challenges. even though there are challenges they're challenges that aren't too complicated especially for first-timers afraid of looking dumb. they also provide pen and paper for you to write necessary things and provide a walkie-talkie for when you need a hint. the number of hints varies from the room selected and the size of the group, they will inform you.be sure to ring the doorbells on either the second floor or the ground level door in the back of the building for any of the moderators to come out and greet and instruct you since all of their doors are locked from the outside.my favorite room in this location is the Japanese horror thrill room More...

Have done two rooms here now (Wizards & Spells with 13 + 10 year old niece and nephew and Japanese Thriller with friends) and both experiences were great. It's challenging (we had to radio in for hints) and just a really fun experience all round. Kory, our host for the Japanese Thriller room tonight, was super cool. We were a group of four and it felt like the perfect amount of people. Definitely give this place a visit ~ we're already planning to come back and try the Superheros one next. A lot of fun.  We had only two, so got put in with a group of four, and it was a blast.  Everyone helped.  Six seemed to be just the right size.  The Japanese experience was a bit creepy, but not too much.  Every once in a while a "haunting" will begin (flickering lights and a gong) and everyone has to get into the "safe room" and shut all the doors or you will lose points to the ghost.  This puts you on edge more than the usual time limit does.  Every little noise, even the "fifteen minutes" chime and you think you have to go running off to the safe room.  We definitely plan to go back sometime for one of the other rooms. Recently went to try out the Japanese Thriller Room with my family & it was our first escape room we've ever done. Which turned out to be such an amazing, memorable experience. It was super spooky! & definitely got us amped for this halloween season. okay wow, if you're looking for something scary to do go to the japanese thriller room. i went with a group of 8 people and with a groupon we found it was about $18 a person but regardless i was scared shitless. first off i didn't know that this was a thriller escape room and was then scared to begin with but it turned out to be slightly fun. all of my friends did enjoy it so i would recommend booking it if you like scary movies. it is creepy at times, but overall if you get past the two jump scares you're chilling and just have to find the clues. also shoutout to cory for always messing with the doorknob, you're a real one. but i would highly recommend, there's a fun slightly anticipating atmosphere when you go in and the employees are very friendly! I came in town and was excited to do an escape room. My friends surprised me with this and then I found out it was a Japanese Thriller Room. They said reviews said it isn't scary. THEY LIE! It is a bit creepy and has its scary moments. I nearly chickened out but I am so glad I didn't. Honestly it was so fun! you don't know exactly what you're looking for. Had the most Wonderful Time!  Professor Jenna rocks.  The room was challenging.  There was only my 14 year old family friend and me. ...no one else and we were able to figure out a good portion of the room.  Professor Jenna helped us out a wee bit (okay a lot) because there were only the two of us.  It was the best time I have had in a long time...seriously imagine a 63 year old and a 14 year figuring out clues and working as a team....it was delightful.  I can see how it would be great team building experience.I am definitely going again.... going to do Super Hero room!  Thank you for the great fun Escape Game SD! This was my first time going to an escape room, and it was a really great experience! I went with 3 others who had each done 1 escape room in the past, and we decided to go for the Japanese thriller room. We made a reservation somewhat last minute on yelp, and even though there was a slight problem with our reservation coming through, Jenna was really helpful and accommodating. There were four of us in a room that can be reserved for up to 9, so the monitors allowed us a couple of extra hints which was really nice! For those who are wondering how scary the thriller room is: I am the type of person who has a love/hate relationship with being scared. I love scary movies and have been to knotts scary farm more than once in my day, but I do genuinely get scared at these kinds of activities. I would say the thriller room is just right. It will spook you a bit, but nobody is going to grab you and you won't feel unsafe at all. If you allow yourself to just be in the creepy environment, you will be the right amount of scared! If you are the type who hates being scared and doesn't enjoy scary movies even, this may not be the best room to do. Corey (I believe that was his name) was our monitor for the most part, and he was really fun. He told us that they either will (or are) do this room in the dark at nighttime, providing only flashlights for the escapees. Be aware of that when booking! More...

I went here on a team outing with my coworkers and had so much fun! This was my first time doing an escape room so I didn't know what to expect. Our helper Jena was awesome in guiding and preparing us on how everything worked. Loved her enthusiasm and how real she made the experience in the Japanese Thriller Room. They do not clearly state that if you have children you have to pay to book the entire room. Booked my appointment came down there only to get very rudely turned away for something that was not my fault. .. the door was literally slammed in my face. My son has done multiple escape rooms with me and enjoys them very much so I had to drive all the way home with a very upset child. No type of solution was offered other than come back another time. Update: so we came back and did the wizard room and Paolo was amazing this room was so fun and creative I really enjoyed it... if it wasn't for him it wouldn't have been a good experience so much better than the first experience with the rude girl. Purely as a room, the Japanese Thriller is a very respectable 4.  Some of the puzzles are a little familiar - there's even one paper-and-pencil to unlock a door that you've probably done at home.  Still, the experience is fun, with a fresh setting and a number of playful rules that I haven't encountered elsewhere.  As far as difficulty, our mostly-newbie team of 7 made it out in about 50 minutes with two hints.  The underlying, true crime scenario is pretty morbid - personally, I kind of wish they had fictionalized what we're assured is real - but the gameplay is lighthearted rather than terrifying.  Everyone had a good time.So why am I rating EGSD a full 5?  Because the evening's staff was *exceptional*.  We had the last booking of the night, which was a little delayed by a previous rambunctious team.  The hustling workers were nevertheless upbeat and took the time to keep us informed as if we were VIPs.  So many escape room employees seem jaded by what they do; this crew turned a mild wait into a pleasure.  Once the room was ready, John started the show, and he's the best - his enthusiasm is contagious, his hints aren't giveaways, and it was great to chat a bit about the room afterward instead of being shuffled off.  John and his coworkers' good energy made a solid room into a terrific night out.  Much appreciated!
