Seriously had the best team building event ever with Stephanie and her crew. Our sales team got to experience coffee roasting, beer sampling and lunch on a farm. It was an eye opening experience for everyone to see how things are made and grown. We plan on coordinating an event with her every year! More...

Made my first visit to San Diego over the weekend and am grateful to have found the Epicurean tour for the day. It was great to meet other food lovers from around the country, learn about the art of coffee brewing, check out a local farm and taste some amazing new foods (Sansho buttons! !!), sip wine at Seaport Village, check out a local dry-cured sausage maker, and finish by relaxing with a local beer. I can't think of a better way to have spent a whole day of my trip! Stephanie is extremely knowledgeable about food, beverages, and the San Diego area. It was a great way to see the city and sample the local fare! I highly recommend it to those experiencing San Diego for the first time or for locals who want to be tourists in their own city (as my guest for the day was.) Thanks! More...

Epicurean San Diego is a fantastic way explore San Diego and its culture through food. In August, three friends and I signed up for a food tour that began at a coffee shop in the Logan Barrio, had lunch at an organic farm near Tijuana and ended at a winery in Seaport village. While my friends and I knew what we had signed up for when we allocated one of the days of our vacation to the tour, we couldn't have imagined how well it would turn out. Immediately upon meeting Stephanie, Epicurean's owner and our tour guide, we knew we had met someone who had carefully curated a collection of stops. Along the tour we sampled incredible food, met the proprietors and learned about the organic options they offer and explored the rich tapestry of neighborhoods that make up San Diego. Wow, I can't say enough positive things about Epicurean San Diego...where to begin?Within the first moments of meeting Stephanie - the founder, owner, and your tour guide for the day, you can tell that she is passionate about her community and the local farms, purveyors, and craftspeople that make San Diego such an up-and-coming and diverse place. Stephanie has been in the food industry and hospitality management scene for years and brings that knowledge and experience to her tours and relationships with the farmers and purveyors around San Diego County. She was professional, friendly, and accommodating to everyone's needs throughout the experience and truly went above and beyond to ensure that it was top-notch experience. Our day began with Stephanie picking us up promptly at the specified time where she introduced herself and let us know what to expect from the day's activities. We began with a stop at an award-winning coffee roaster and proceeded to enjoy a farm-to-table lunch, tour of an organic nursery, meeting the owners of an artisan salami company and concluding the day's events with a tour of a local brewery. At each stop we were met by an enthusiastic representative or owner(s) and given a unique behind-the-scenes' tour of each place. Of course, we were given samples and small gifts along the way which made the experience that much more memorable. The other guests on the tour were also really great and most were visiting from other areas of the country. It was cool to hear everyone talk about their homes and what made their areas of the country unique compared to San Diego!Epicurean San Diego is unique, original, and truly a must-do experience for locals and visitors alike - great experience and highly recommended! I highly recommend Epicurean San Diego! Stephanie took us on a company outing, on the North County tour. She showed up smiling and ready to show us a great time! We had 13 people so we took the Epicurean SD passenger van which was nice and clean and comfy, stocked with waters and good music. The tour with Matt at Lofty Coffee Encinitas Roasting Works was such a nice start to the day with great coffee and home baked pastries. Then the Cyclops Farms tour with Luke was beautiful with 2.5 acres of certified organic greens, veggies and fruits. We snacked on his passion fruits and Kiwano melons. Next was an incredible and colorful farm to table lunch with Chef Stephen and his team at Privateer Marketplace, featuring creative and yummy family style plates with several ingredients from Cyclops Farms. The last stop was with Alex at Golden Coast Mead, where we tasted and learned about several different meads, all very different and delicious. What a fun and unique tasting experience!Stephanie is very passionate about all of her local artisan relationships and she is genuinely excited to introduce people to them. She was professional, fun, and engaged the entire time, always offering to do extra little things or give us additional information to make the experience even better. She is wonderful! I went on the SDBW Beek Geek Tour this weekend and it was a BLAST from start to finish! Start: We meet our tour guide Steph at the Old Town Station. Right off the bat Steph was packed with excitement, knowledge and passion for the day ahead.Stop 1: White Labs: This location instantly captured all of us. We got a private tour of the Yeast Production Planet. With a step by step description of the up hill battle of making the perfect yeast strains for the world's taste buds to enjoy! At the end of our tour we got to relax in the tasting room, with a vertical flight of beer. It was really cool to be able to actually taste the different flavors of the beers, based on the yeast that was used!Stop 2: Brothery Provisions: Hands down the best Brisket Dip I have ever had in my life. Thank you Steph for the recommendation on the sandwich! This place was a little hidden gem, I lived in SD for 5 years and never knew a place like this even existed. A small local homie markets that serves high quality meats and hand crafted beers. Great stop to rest the feet after our first private tour.Stop 3: Societe Brewing Company. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted with a beer and lead to a private area to begin our tour of the brewery. To me this was the best spot of the day because it brought everything together and really showed the local feel of SD. Societe actually uses White Labs yeast in its brewery, and really focus on quality beer for its local market area.  At the end of the tour we were seated at a table, with another flight of beer awaiting us.  This time Steph had each beer paired with a different sausage, hand selected based on flavor. To add to the local feel even more, the sausage was from MeatMen, a local maker just around the corner.End: I can actually say I understand how beer is made!!! I can confidentially say going into the day I was the least Beer-knowledgeable person on the tour but I still had as much fun as the beer geeks!  Thank you Steph for the unforgettable experience. I can not wait to setup a Private Tour for my company! More...
