The instructor is awesome. He knows what he is doing and how to treat kid. The kids love this after school and have a lot of fun educational activities. My son says: "I love to go to school because I can go to my after school!" The Kids are admired to do their homework and a teacher checks their homework everyday for completeness and accuracy. Kids receive points for following directions, doing homework,...Beside karate class everyday, they also have some computer lessons. It is truly a perfect after school for kids of busy parents and I recommend it to everybody. More...

My family has had an amazing experience with Enshin Karate. My two children are in Kindergarten and in First Grade, and both attend the after school program offered. A bus is offered to pick up our children and take them to Enshin, which in itself is relief enough, but the care they get once they're there makes us extremely happy to have Enshin in our lives. Even my kindergartener picked up the routine extremely quickly. The kids get a snack after school, can do homework or play games to decompress. Before it is time for parents to pick up, classes are held. I was happy to find out that children who attend the after-school program have the ability to progress through their belts just as someone who attended an evening class would. The first few weeks were difficult for my daughter, who was just getting used to not taking naps and now additional physical activity was thrown into the mix, but she survived and now acclimated to the change in schedule. My children have also attended one of their camps for days where the school is closed and they couldn't have been happier. They were excited to go, happy to be there when I was dropping them up, and wanted to stay more once I got there. Is there more a parent could ask for? I don't think so. The price is only slightly higher than Fairfax County SACC for two children but when you factor in that this is both childcare and a sports activity, it far surpasses SACC in value. You can sign-up for a yearly or month-to-month contract. The yearly contract gives you the best rates for days where schools are closed. It is also great to know that they pick up the children at the required time for early releases, scheduled or unscheduled caused by weather.I know my children are happy and safe with Enshin, and I'm happy with Enshin. If you are considering an aftercare and/or break camp program for your child then please consider Enshin Karate Vienna. From the time our son started at Enshin, every single person associated with the dojo has shown personal care and commitment to him and his success. On countless occasions they have gone above and beyond. Our son considers these folks role models for his future. I couldn't agree more! More...

I can't say enough good things about the Vienna location. The Sempais care so much about the children. At the same time, they command their respect, challenge them, and instill discipline. There are so many families at the dojo for camp, after school care, or evening/weekend classes, but somehow everyone immediately knew my and my son's names and faces. I've never once been asked which child I've come to pick up. They know. We've hosted my son's birthday party here the past three years. Granted the first year we only rented out the facility and didn't take advantage of the 'karate party' offering. The second year, we hosted a Ninjago party, and this year a Pokemon party. Both times, the staff members who handled our events were the picture of professionalism, friendly, responsive, helpful, and always going the extra 10 miles to make it special for my son. The dojo was very flexible in working with me to extend the amount of time for our party and allowing me to arrive early to set up. They helped me set up and were so cheerful and joyful about it. It's really a pleasure to be around people like that. They adapted the games and activities that they normally use for the straightforward karate party to fit our party themes. I imagine it was a little easier to do so for a ninja party, but for a Pokemon party, I really wasn't sure if it would turn out well. My worries were completely unnecessary. Drew and Ashley were so creative, and they did all the leg work and prep, researching the ins and outs of the various facets of Pokemon to put together an amazing Pokemon Trainer Academy for the kids. I couldn't believe how much effort they put in, from the activities they planned to the props for the games that they decorated by hand. Ashley and Drew have been working with my son in the Enshin programs for a little over a year, and they both made special personal gifts for him that made him feel important and cared for. As a mother, there's really nothing better than seeing your child feel that way. I'm so grateful to Enshin and these two special staff members for giving him that. More...

I have been attending the adult class for the last five months. I’ve trained in other styles of martial arts and Enshin is very diverse and challenging. It incorporates traditional kicks and punches as well as sweeps, throws, leg kicks, and ground fighting/defense. We are encouraged to focus on creating openings and seeing our opponents weak areas, which is very practical and useful for self defense. Sensei Vlado is an excellent instructor who really pushes his students. He recognizes individual strengths and weaknesses and guides us as we grow both physically and mentally. The other adults in the class are friendly and helpful as well. I also really enjoy the after class HIIT sessions. In addition to learning new skills, I’m also losing weight and gaining muscle. Whether you are new to martial arts or have some experience, I highly recommend the Ashburn Enshin Dojo. More...

Best MMA gym in DMV area. The difference between this gym and any other gyms, is that you have great instructors with real fighting experince to guide you and teach you real techniques. And whats also great is that they dont always concentrate in one aspect of the sport they’re teaching. The experiences of the instructors are very broad in terms mixing up many different exercises amd drills to make the body experience different kinds of workouts. Comparing them to just some unexpereinced guy from a regular gym who has learned some exercises that make you only lose some calories. Without any technique and knowledge of the real life situations. The gym has a great schedule put together that concentrates in all aspects of combat sports. There are grappling classes like (jui jitsu and wrestling), boxing classes, and kickboxing(karate and Thai boxing). You dont have to want to be a competitve fighter to train in this MMA gym. You can train here even if you just want to strengthen your body or mind only. You can build up your confidence to a higher level. Discipline yourself. The gym provides all the tools for you to improve in all aspects. This is the right place for anyone. I’ve been training there for 2 years and everything I said comes from my expreince I got from there. More...

I found a home and a father there. Sensei Nima took me under his wing and trained me, took me numerous competitions and guide me tough life. Our twins are finishing (what turned out to be) the summer-long youth camp with Enshin Karate Falla Church. Their program looked good, the twins were interested in a flyer I’d brought home, and the stafff was really open and friendly when we all went to visit in June. ...but there was still a little hesitancy (at some bad reviews). As a result, we only signed up for the first week, no more....so we wouldn’t be out much money if we left early or something. As it happens, all we wound up being “out” was the $$ we could have saved by signing up for their multi-week package. To our surprise, our daughter almost immediately got excited about karate - as much as her brother. It was great physical activity (I am shocked at how good their balance has become, as a result), but camp was about so much MORE than class. They play games at the dojo before class and lunch, and then go on a field trip every afternoon - and not cheap-o or easy locations, but places like Lake Anna (toward the end)/Glen Echo Park/Air and Space Museum/water parks/trampoline and bounce house locations/movies/and so on. At every step (most important), they were surrounded by friendly, engaged adults who took great care of them. So thank you, Enshin Karate, for a great summer - we’ll be back! More...

We used their afterschool program for 2 years and liked it! They pick up from several neighborhood schools with their own small buses. Kids have a snack and homework time, then attend a karate class each day. It's better for older school kids, as the younger ones might find it to be too much karate and might get very tired by the time you come to pick them up. Staff seems to be responsive to criticism and if you bring up issues, they will be addressed. They also offer snow day camps when schools are closed, but that gets pretty expensive ($60/day extra on top of your monthly tuition). School break camps and summer camp are convenient and mostly fun for kids - daily filed trips to the park, laser tag, chuck e cheese's, bowling etc help kids not get bored from staying in the dojo everyday. On rainy days they watch movies projected onto ceiling while laying down on the mats - offering a bit of relaxation to the busy kids' lives. Just remember to speak up if your child is having issues while there and they will make every effort to fix the problem. Karate itself is not what we expected, kind of more of a game than real sport. They don't really push the kids to work hard on their karate skills to be competitive and lots of playing around is going on during class. My kid was very young when he attended so I didn't mind it too much. But if your child is seriously into karate, you might not be very happy with this. Anyways you can always give it a try and see for yourself. More...

Quality has been rising again :) kids are excited about going to their after school program and the program has improved to the point where I feel comfortable saying that if it isn't as good as last year, it is better. Thanks for listening to me and for trying hard to improve the establishment, and thank you for allowing the staff to do a better job with the gifts they naturally own.                          *****Update on my review: I received a personal rude email from the owner and instead of giving me any sort of apology, she implied my review was a slander that had the intention to harm her business in the future, which is the worst way to handle a customer service problem. I believe my review below is more than accurate, specially after she personally offended me on my personal email. The staff is very friendly and I would recommend this place for after school as for any camps if it wasn't for the fact that the costumer service is one of the worst I've ever had. The most recent one being the fact that they are charging parents (who already paid for the entire week of after school program) an extra $60 per child per day for the "winter/snow" camp. As a parent of two and already paying a monthly tuition this is beyond ridiculous. They stuff the place with more children than the staff can support, won't give the necessary homework attention to your children unless you are a crying parent like me, and the karate level has dropped so much I regret signing a yearly contract (which you can't get off EVER). Was good in 2015 first semester, has gone downhill for the year of 2015-2016. I would research better places if you are actually paying the child care out of pocket like me. More...
