Went out for a bite to eat & stumbled upon this place. The atmosphere is nice; music & a good ambience. The food was really good & it was a Monday night, the service was up beat & very attentive; I would definitely bring My Lady here again. It's a great first date/date spot or just going out with friends. The grass fed burger is a must; we had the Margherita pizza & it was delicious. More...

I eat pizza and pasta at this  restaurants and eat desserts and get a drink.  you should go to Emmy's restaurant because they have good food.

This location seems to think it's not directly attached to a movie theatre, so in other words it's a bit pompous. I haven't yet been to the Gulch restaurant, so I'm only speaking for GH's. I arrived with a party of three around 6-6:30pm on a Tuesday in Dec. We waited for a table for upwards of 15 min despite there only being two tables taken. Granted, 15 min isn't a long wait, but it definitely seems to be when you're staring at an empty room. However, four stars given bc Le Big Matt is the best burger I've ever had. Better than ever talked about burgers at Husk and Dino's. Bear Creek Farm beef is amazing. Note that you're only able to order it medium or medium well and you can't order it for delivery or pickup (at least according to our waiter). Forget about their pizza, the burger is the choice here. 3.8 stars is my actual review & here's why. There was so much hype over this place, and I had very high hopes for this square pizza--but maybe it was just a little too high of hopes. I'd heard about the honey on the pizza and was pretty excited about that, but when it came to the bite, it kinda fell short and didn't stand out too much. We got the Colony Pizza, a Vodka Pizza + Chorizo, a spicy chicken sandwich, and a side of fries. The fries were really good and the chicken sandwich hit the spot too. The sauce on the chicken sandwich enhanced the already tender, juicy and flavorful chicken. The pizza is where things kinda got eh for me. I liked the Colony but it felt a bit dry & underwhelming. Again, I think the expectations were too high, bc it wasn't a bad pizza, it just did not live up to the hype. The Vodka pizza wasn't bad either but I thought the chorizo was pretty dry.Overall, I think this place was good but I wouldn't go here for a square pizza. I heard the burgers are suuuuper good tho, and the spicy chicken sandwich showed that there is 100% potential there. More...

Oh my goodness what A PIZZA Emmy Squared makes.I came with a couple friends on a Sunday around 6pm and got a seat at a high top without reservations, but it filled up pretty quickly within the next hour. We ordered the Colony (pepperoni & hot honey) and Margherita (with BURRATA) pizzas. Incredible. Rave reviews all around. The tomato sauce on the Margherita pizza was potentially the best I've had. Not too sweet, a good saltiness to it, and the burrata and basil additions.... wow. So good. The colony pizza was really good as well, loved the hot honey to add a nice sweet spicy bite. The pepperonis are the good kind, pretty thick so they hold the greasiness just slightly. But, the best part of it all? The crust!!! I'm not always overly excited about a grandma crust but this place has turned me around. The flavors and crunch around the edges are perfect, while the dough is still fluffy and slightly dense inside. Can't recommend Emmy Squared enough! More...

This place was so so so good. We ordered the burger, it came very fast. It was the best burger I've ever had! The fries were perfectly crispy! The drinks were good and very strong! We had awesome service! It was a little pricey, $20 for the burger. I will definitely be returning! We didn't order a pizza but it was deep dish style! More...

I first had Emmy Squared at a Mets game and it was delicious so I was excited to try the restaurant. We ordered the colony and margherita (which comes with burrata) pizza. The food was a bit slow to come out, it took about 30min. The pepperoni on the colony was overcooked which was unfortunate and it didn't have any honey on it. I informed our waiter who apologized and brought it back with honey. The dough was perfect, crunchy outside soft inside and there was enough sauce and cheese. The margherita was really tasty, the burrata was excellent and there was lots of it. My only suggestion would be that they cut the basil leaves and sprinkle it over the pizza rather than putting one big basil leaf per slice.Overall it was a nice meal, but could have been better executed. Not sure if they were having an off night, but I would go back. More...

I've come to Emmy Squared (both this location and their locale in Williamsburg) ~12 times this year and each time is just as good as the last. I grew up in Detroit so I'm a pretty hard critic when it comes to Detroit style pizza but Emmy Squared nails it. This comes from my whole family including my notoriously picky Detroit-bred parents as well! Start with the eggplant parm - it's so overly cheesy in the best way plus they top it with calabrian chilies that make everything 10x better. You can't go wrong with ordering any of the pizzas although my personal favorite is the colony or the emmy (the vodka one gets a special mention to). I've heard great things about their burger as well.Run, don't walk! More...

Wings are seriously awesome. Loved the pizza, definitely one of the better in Nashville. I don't know what the people are smoking who compare it to any of the monster chains. Service is good and the decor is nice. Is it cheap? No it's not cheap, if you want cheap go somewhere else, please. I highly endorse it. More...

The Le Big Matt burger has got to be one of the BEST burgers I've had.  We got the Okonomi fries to go with the burger.  The burger was split between two of us and it was a decent portion.  I felt pretty full on half a burger and fries.  The burger was a saucy, delicious mess.  The Sammy sauce has a bit of a kick to it (for me, I have no spice tolerance at all).  I have yet to try the pizza but I'd definitely come back just for the burger. I'm not really a fan of anything else on their menu besides the Le Big Matt burger - so this review is solely for the burger. I would say the pizza and apps can be skipped, but definitely try the burger! It's juicy, flavorful and a brioche bun is such a nice touch! Definitely one of my favorite burgers in the city. They do get crowded during the weekend and nights so highly recommend making reservation before coming! More...

I came here for a Sunday lunch with friends and the pizza was absolutely. I had the Margherita, and had never had a pizza so crispy. It was kind of like the bottom of a perfectly cooked grilled cheese. The sauce and burrata were great. However, the service was not the best. The host seemed unhappy to do anything and didn't make us feel particularly welcome. It'd expect a lot different given that it's a family friendly joint. I would recommend, but come early or make a reservation. More...

My friend and I were in East Village looking for a place for dinner after we finished a workout class, and she recommended we walk to Emmy Squared! It was a Friday night, and the restaurant was packed -- the wait for just 2 people was over an hour! However, we stuck around and we were fortunate enough to be able to grab a couple seats at the bar, which offers their full menu. We order a couple cocktails (With Love From Emily was strong yet refreshing!) and food to share: roasted cauliflower, okonomi fries, and a Vodka pizza. Service was quick, and the food was delicious. The vodka pizza was amazing with the crispy crust - I highly recommend this one! The Okonomi fries where are unique and flavorful, but there was just a little too much sauce that drowned the fries a little bit in my opinion. The cauliflower was flavorful as well. Overall my friend and I had a lovely experience dining at Emmy Squared. It's a cozy spot with unique food that still has elements of comfort food. It's a perfect spot for getting together with friends or a date night. I look forward to checking out the other locations as well! More...

I absolutely love this location of Emmy Squared! There is so much more room inside than the Gulch location and the service is always quick and friendly. Now for the best of the best - THE FOOD! It's absolutely some of the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life (honestly). I personally think it's so well done and it's delicious. Every person I've ever taken here thinks that same thing as well. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. I love it and I think it's priced well for the quality of food and portion you receive! Easy to split a pizza between two people for ~20 bucks! More...

Whether you're a New Yorker who enjoys your pizza thin enough to fold in half, or if you're a fan of the deep dish, sauce laden crusts native to Chicago, you can find a happy medium between the bread textures at Emmy Squared. Pizza made Detroit style means it's baked in a square pan with enough oil that it fries the underskirt of the pie. The sauce sits atop the cheese which is baked into the crust to create a crispy layer on the outer edges of the pizza and doesn't pool to the edges like New York style pizza does. This forms an amazing pie with enough density to deliver a nice chewiness but is simultaneously airy and light in the center. The namesake pie, "The Emmy," starts with a base of mozzarella cheese, supporting a smattering of banana peppers, onions and a zig zag drizzle of a bright green cilantro ranch dressing. The banana peppers are tarte and pickled, adding a nice contrast to the creaminess of the ranch dressing. Marinara sauce is provided for your dipping pleasure, a side I found unnecessary since the pizza was flavorful enough on its own. This was definitely the star pie of the evening.Off the White cheese pizza menu, I ordered the Marn Blanc, which jumped out at me for the combination of ricotta, pecorino, and caramelized onions. There was a pleasant sweetness to the caramelized onions, which spiked the flavor of the more muted taste of the ricotta cheese layer. The crust had the same satisfying crispy outer layer and air pocked, chewy center that is signature to all the pies at Emmy Squared.Though there were several empty tables around us and no one waiting to be seated, I felt very rushed through my meal. Two servers came by to take unfinished dishes away before we were ready, and a bill was dropped on our table with a look that said "pay and get out." I'm sure there are operational reasons for this (or not?) but it didn't make for the most hospitable experience. More...

Right around the corner from our hotel and recommended by concierge. Reportedly have a great burger: they were right. I was doubtful about the claim but it was genuinely the best burger I ever ate. The waffle fries were just average. The decor and ambience were ok but not great. The owner (manager?) was very nice. The server was efficient and polite but devoid of personality. Meh, isn't that enough for a server? But overall, I'd go there again for that burger. More...

First time trying Emmy Squared as I'm going through my pizza bucket list and must say it was really good and unique. We didn't know they accept reservations so that meant a seat at the bar. We were kind of bummed out, but the restaurant was packed to the gills all night. We were informed we'd get the next available table, but that never happened.Service at the bar was spotty at first but I'm sure it was due to the high volume of patrons. I ordered a delicious Pinot Noir to start things off with the cauliflower appetizer ordered. We were blown away by the flavors and the deliciousness of this dish.We then ordered two pies to share. I'm not familiar with Detroit style pizza, but all pies were square in shape, 6 pieces. We ordered the Hot Chicken which was topped with spicy fried chicken pieces, onions, special sauce and overall,  really good. The other pie was a classic margherita topped with basil and burrata. A bit salty, but delicious. The crust of both pies was light and airy in the middle with a crunchy and crispy edges/crust.Both were equally good but I had to take the rest of mine home.In summary, although I really liked Emmy Squared, I have an affinity for thin crust, round pizza. Those that are more traditional. In other words, the Hot Chicken which was spicy and a bit sweet, was good but not the simple, classic style of what pizza should define. With so many pizzerias in business, artisanal style is the end result or maybe who can be more creative.Aside from that sentiment, I'm glad I finally tried Emmy Squared. Great and filling meal. The food was pretty good. We got 2 burgers and a burrata pizza with sausage and mushrooms. The burger was good nothing out of this world. I wish there was less cheese but now I know for next time. The pizza was really good but I would go with plain burrata or the classic next time. We got too excited and added too many toppings. The pizza tasted even better the next day. The dough was soft and crunchy and the burrata was creamy. They are kind of pricey. Our three items came to 100 dollars including tip.Mera's Tip: try the pizza More...

Came to eat here for dinner on a Friday night. We had a very late reservation (10 PM). Great service & the food was very filling. It is a pretty small restaurant and some of the seating is directly next to the kitchen so you can kind of see everything that is going on in there. We ordered their breadsticks, eggplant Parmesan, a margarita pie, and a vodka pie. The pizzas were very thick and well cooked and the eggplant was UNlike any other eggplant dish I've ever had! I would definitely come back to this place - but at a more normal "dinner hour" so I can stuff myself with a lot more yummy food. S/N: they have an elderberry infused cocktail that is yummy! More...

Such a beautiful second location!! We absolutely love the first location in the gulch, but this one is just better for families and definitely for larger groups. Also it's just gorgeous inside! A much larger waiting area while your table is getting ready! I'd still recommend a reservation if possible. Do yourself a favor though - make sure to order both the le big Matt and a roni supreme if it's just two of you. The Detroit style pizza is SO GOOD but the burger is MY absolute favorite in town, so you absolutely need to have a bit of both. The location though surprised us with the best news for non-alcohol drinkers like us, FREE SODA REFILLS PEOPLE! I really give it 3.5 stars. I wanted to try Emmy's for a bit but didn't get a chance until tonight. A friend and I were at an event nearby and stepped in. I was expecting it to have a crazy wait time. However,  we walked in and were able to immediately get two seats at the bar. We were immediately given a menu and water. However,  after that the service got really shotty.  The bartender gave my friend her wine in a dirty lipstick stained glass. Didn't immediately give her a new one for some reason. Then we waited what was close to an hour for our pizzas.  At that point we weren't even that hungry anymore. Apparently there was a mix up with our orders. The people next to us who came 30 minutes after us were eating before us. The bartender was nice to give us cheese bites in the meantime because he realized it was 45 minutes since we placed our order. They were apologetic and it was a nice gesture however it definitely wasn't a great first  impression. Food wise- the pizza was hot and tasty when we finally got it. It was a bit too charred underneath though. After waiting so long and eating those cheese bite,  I didn't fully enjoy the pizza as i wanted. I had the Roni pie and my friend had the deluxe. They were both good. However, unfortunately I'm not sure i will  be in a rush to be back. More...

Emmy Squared serves up delicious Detroit style pizzas, and is a restaurant that you can consistently go to for reliably great food, whether at their West Village location, or newer East Village spot. We'd been to the West Village location previously, and were big fans, so one Saturday night, we decided to drop in spontaneously into the new Emmy Squared. It was about 6ish, and we didn't have a reservation, but we managed to be seated immediately at a table. The staff brought us copies of the menu and waters immediately, and gave us a few moments to order. We decided to share two pizzas between us: the Colony, and the margarita. We'd previously had the colony at their west village restaurant location, and I would have to recommend this as a must-get. With slices of pepperoni, and a drizzle of honey, it's not hard to see why this is one of their most popular pizzas. The margarita pizza was something we could have done without. As Emmy squared serves thicker, Detroit-style pizzas, I feel like the thicker base of these pizzas are more suited to heavier toppings, rather than the lighter Neapolitan style pizzas which are suited to having just a few. It was not bad, but we both thought we would have enjoyed another pizza with more toppings even more. Service was friendly and efficient. The ambience here would suit diners looking for a casual meal, and prices are likewise reflected. This is a solid spot downtown for anyone looking for Detroit style pizzas and hearty food. More...

Le Big Matt burger is the move. Two of us had it and one had the hot chicken. The patties are loosely formed and cooked medium. The pretzel bun added the right flavor coupled with the right amount of salt. This is a $19 burger!  A bit much but I assume they are riding the hype train. The wait around 8 was about 45 minutes for two people but we decided to just grab a couple of seats at the bar. After each having run 20 mile training runs earlier that day, we were primed for a good meal.We ordered a pepperoni pie and the burger. Really great food at Emmy Squared. Tried 3 different pizzas, along with 2 burgers for the table (party of 8) and it was the right amount of food. Expensive burger ($25 I think) for Le Big Matt, but worth it, or worth sharing.  Flavor and bun were awesome. Pizzas - had the sausage and banana peppers, white sauce and mushrooms, and pepperoni/meat option. 8.5/10 Detroit style, flavor and crust really good. The vodka pizza was great. I will say that the whole pizza is overpriced at $19, because the dimensions are comically small compared to what you'd normally see with square pies. I wish I had a tape measure, but suffice to say if we weren't such small eaters, this would probably be more appropriate as a "personal pizza".The cheese crusts up and creates delicious jagged edges. The base could be thicker, but it had a sufficiently fluffy interior and nice crisp outside. Once the pizza cooled down a bit, we could enjoy how all the flavors melded together, although more basil could have been used to balance everything out better. We were tempted to get the waffle fries and burger, but we really just visited to check out how the Detroit-style pizza held up. Overall, it's a good pizza - but overpriced. More...

You cannot stroll through the gulch in Nashville and not stop in for lunch or dinner at Emmy Squared. Come hungry because the portions are large. Their pizzas serve about 2 people or perhaps 1 if you are really hungry and would like to bring a couple of pieces home for later. There is full table service and they have a nice bar too which is where we typically opt to sit. The pizza is unlike anything I've ever had. We are from NY so we are most accustomed to that style of pizza. This is a total treat. It is like a Detroit style meets chicago/deep dish but the dough is so light and airy. The crust is buttery and crispy on the outside. It is not overly heavy. The sauce has perfect balance of sweet and tang. We had the margarita pie with burrata and made it a big al which adds calabrian chilies and sausage. It was absolutely incredible. Their sandwiches including the burger, hot chicken sandwich and chicken parm are HUGE! They are known for their burger the Le Big Matt and it looks incredible. I typically come here to get my pizza fix but next time I am looking forward to trying the famous burger. You simply cannot go wrong here. Service is great. Decent wine selection and bottled beer. While I don't think the pizza lived up to the hype of being one of the best in New York (don't get me wrong, the pizza here is good just not one of the best in this pizza crazy city), the burger most certainly did. We split the burger and ordered the Big Ang pizza and the Roni Supreme.  I'm normally a minimalist when it comes to burgers, but all of the toppings on it complemented each other very well, the burger was cooked perfectly, and the toasted pretzel bun put it over the top.  I actually did not mind spending $25 for this burger.  It also came with a generous portion of waffle fries that were seasoned well and what must have been house made ketchup.  The ketchup itself was very delicious and had a little kick to it which made me come back for more.As for the pizzas, I guess Detroit style is like smaller Sicilian.  The Roni Supreme was solid and the pepperoni was high quality (not like the processed junk at most pizza places).  There was spicy chili sauce in the middle of each slice that gave it a little kick (but not too spicy so that it overpowered it).  This was my favorite pizza.  My only suggestion would be that they spread the chili pepper sauce a little more evenly. The Big Ang pizza looked great on the menu, however, I found it to be lacking a lot with the meatballs and it had too many banana peppers.  Additionally, I thought it had a vodka sauce but I couldn't really taste it on mine.  Despite all of this, still a decent pizza.Overall, I will definitely come back for the burger.  It's sublime.  The pizza is good, and I will try different pies here in the future, but I wouldn't make a special far trip here just for pizza (unless you're getting the burger too). But here goes: Pros: Super cute venue, looks like you are in a shipping containerGREAT locationGood vibesChicken wings appetizer (with peanuts on them) are AMAZINGBurger is rightfully so claimed to be the best burger in Nashville. Order it 100%Cons:Service was really slow, we had to check on our food after waiting around for a bit, then the waitress gave us the check while I was still eating which felt pretty rudeMy wedge salad with hot chicken had so much potential, but the chicken left grease all over my salad, making it pretty unappetizing. This is a great little addition to the Green Hills mall area! Sure, there's several other pizza places living in Green Hills along with Emmy Squared, but this place has burgers AND pizza on the same menu: 2 magnificent foods together! To be honest, I'm a bigger fan of thin crust pizza, buttttt Emmy Squared made thick crust deep-dish style pizza enjoyable for me. I got the Hulu Hog pizza with bacon, jalapeños, and pineapple. You can call me crazy all you want for loving pineapple on pizza but it was great! It was almost a bit too heavy for me, but I was able to get 4 pieces down before surrendering. But that's okay because I can just relive the experience tomorrow with the last 2 pieces ‍ More...

This place is known for their Detroit style square pizza so I just had to check it out. I loved every bite of the Big Ang & The Angel pie! Botb were very different but hella delicious. I came here for my roommate's birthday dinner the other day and loved it! I'm not sure how busy it get/possible wait times, but we came here on a weekend night and made a reservation for 8:30PM. Luckily we were actually running a bit early, and I called ahead of time to move up our reservation (and they nicely did!).I ordered the Burger (on a pretzel bun of course) and it came with delicious waffle fries. One of my friends ordered the Margherita Pizza and the other ordered the Deluxe (without the sausage - and added onions). I tried both pizzas and they were really good - the crust and fluffiness of the bread really made it special. The burger was also really good! It is a double stack, and it comes with cheese, a "spicy" (but not really) sauce, pickles, lettuce, and all the works. The burger was really flavorful but also REALLY filling. I managed to only eat half the burger and fries (but I also sampled other pizzas). This place was good - if you're in the mood for a nice burger, then definitely try it out! Also: they forgot to remove the sausage from one of my friend's pizzas (since shes a vegetarian) and they ended up taking it off the bill without us even asking or complaining (since the new pizza ended up coming out really late). They were so nice about it and understanding - so awesome! More...

Service was prompt, and the decor was rustic. We got the colony pizza, which had pepperoni, pickles jalapeños, and honey drizzle on top. I thought it was oil on top of the pepperonis at first, but it turned out to be the honey which was really good. The crust of the pizza was delicious; I usually prefer thin crust pizza, but the cheese and the texture of the crust was amazing and played beautifully with the bolder flavors. We also got the angel pie, which was the one I preferred. The ricotta, mushrooms, and cream combination was really good, and I asked for red pepper flakes to sprinkle on top as well. It was creamy and savory and really delicious. Would come back! More...

Been meaning to try this place for a while now- especially since so many of my friends have recommended it and I am big time burger lover. Walked in on a Tuesday night and were given a table immediately. Ordered a beer and a cider, the Emmy pizza and Le big Matt. The pizza was excellent. I would've eaten the crust plain and been totally satisfied. The burger, which has graced many best burger lists was disappointing. Nowhere in the description does it say that it would be spicy at all. It was very spicy. I am somewhat sensitive to spicy food and if I had known, I probably would've passed on ordering it.  The spice is in the sauce, which could've easily been put on the side. I know people that are much more sensitive than I when it comes to spice, and there really needs to be a warning. After mentioning it to the server (I only had a couple bites), he was able to get it taken off the check. I appreciate that, but I just hope they change the description on the menu or something (I don't know what the answer is). More...

Come for the burger, stay for the pizza.Came here on a recommendation for the burger being great, but frankly I don't even remember the burger (alcohol may be to blame for that part though), but the pizzas - oh man. The Colony Pizza and the Emmy Pizza were both awesome. It's Detroit-style, so different than what you're probably used to in NY, but the flavors are amazing. The Spicy chicken sandwich is also great. It's huge, and really juicy and legit spicy (though not too much). Have already come back a 2nd time, and expect #3 won't be too far down the line. More...

Just want to give a shout out to the best host Sarah who saved my night this past Saturday! Showed up at 9pm for my group of 5's Saturday night reservation, and discovered I had accidentally booked for Sunday night. Sarah saw the dread on my face, and instead of turning us away, or giving me the "no can do" that I probably deserved, Sarah made some magic happen and was able to squeeze the five of us comfortably at a table for 4 with very little wait. We order from Emmy Squared all the time. Our favorites are the colony 2 pizza and the burger - both amazing. As for the chicken sandwiches, I don't think we'd order them again. It gets pretty busy and don't be surprised if theirs people waiting outside. They get people seated relatively quickly. The Menu had so many great options. You can come just one time! On this particular day I ordered a side order of waffle fries sort of like an appetizer while I wait for my entree, the Big Ang! It was worth the wait. Not to say that I had to wait a very long time. The restaurant was pretty big and the host and waiters were all very sweet! The food was delicious! I shared a salad and pizza, with no regrets! Everything was gone by the end. Emmy Squared is a spacious restaurant located near the Green Hills Mall. This is a perfect spot for a date night or girls night dinner. We enjoyed the garlic cheesy sticks as an appetizer and both ordered a pizza with different ingredients. I created my own with jalapeño, mushroom, and honey which may sound strange but it was delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was dim lit and relaxed. I definitely appreciate the kindness we received from the management and the waitress who helped us.The only disappointing thing about this gorgeous establishment was that there were several crusts of pizza and old food on the ground at nearby tables. This was a delectable pizza, and one of the few places in NYC we dined that was much like food in Seattle, scratch made and local. The pizza itself is like a half deep dish pizza, with toasted cheese edges that set it apart from any other pizza place.  My only issue was the homemade sauce was quite salty.  Even after having straight anchovies from the Caesar salad, the salt was too forward in the pizza sauce. The Caesar salad was quite delicious as well. The atmosphere was comfortable and quaint, and the waiters were down to earth and business, as we didn't want for anything or stay hungry for long. If I visit NYC again, I'll definitely go back, hoping someone eased up on the salt this time. More...

If you go, definitely get the burger. The burger was so flavorful I can totally see why it's constantly sold out. Most burgers depend on their toppings and sauces in order to preserve the flavor of the meat, but Emmy Squared really went beyond with flavoring the patty while also making sure you taste the aged meat. I finally tried Emmy Squared after years of being told to try them. I get the hype - it makes sense... At least for the burger. However, the pizza wasn't mind-blowing.I'm also not sure I can justify ever spending $25+ for a burger. If this burger was $17 or less (which is what most craft burger spots in the city charge)? Hell yeah, you got me hooked fam. But it's not. Also, the pizza is pricy for the size of the pie. Was it delicious? Yeah. Did every bite remind me I just spent too much for a burger and a pie? Yeah. The service was also really off. Great addition to green hills. This establishment checks all the right boxes.  To begin, the food is fantastic. Although it's a pizza restaurant, their burger is, in my opinion, the best in town. By far. The pizzas are also fantastic and come in relatively smaller, yet shareable sizes. The staff is also very friendly and courteous, standing ready to serve and accommodate all reasonable requests. After seeing the best burgers in NY video, I'm glad I got to experience this place. This burger was all the amount of juiciness, flavor, and paired with a soft tasty pretzel bun. The double stacked patty came well done, but it was juicy with every bite. I also enjoyed how the cheese melted with consistency all across the burger. However, I would say the downside to this is how the patty doesn't fill the bun. I wish I could've gotten a little bit more meat for what I paid for. The fries were also mediocre, not much going on there. Would I try again? Maybe if someone wants to split with me, but I wouldn't get it for the price of $25. More...

I'm a native Brooklynite and am fiercely fanatical about Brooklyn-style pizza. After hearing about the burger here, we decided to add this restaurant to a list of "to-visit restaurants" despite the Detroit-style pizza. But the pizza was delicious! For those in a pinch for time, a haiku:Sure, the pizza's great;Don't forget the other food,And drinks. ALL is yum!I had dinner here with my boyfriend before we were heading to a cocktail event about 15 minutes away. We ordered the eggplant parmigiana, The Caesar salad, and the hot 'bama chicken and pickles Detroit style pizza. The two appetizers were so good, I could easily have raved about my experience here if I had SOLELY ordered either one. The Caesar salad was bursting with flavor and loaded with dressing and cheese, in the best way. The eggplant parm was made like I'd never seen before. The eggplant was sliced thinly and seemed to be crisped in an oven and made into something resembling eggplant "chips" (although still thick enough that they weren't fully crisped, just on the outside), and they were layered with delicious marinara, mozzarella, and topped with a buratta which is not as creamy as I am used to but was delicious nevertheless. This was probably the best thing we ate. Then came the Detroit style pizza. It was rectangular like a Sicilian, but the crust was very crispy and almost flatbread-like, but also much more dense and chewy. I don't know how to describe it better, although I can say it was not like a deep dish pizza because it wasn't topping-heavy like those tend to be, and it certainly did not have a thing crust like NY style. The specific one we ordered was the Alabama hot chicken which came with white sauce (mild flavored), spicy fried chicken, a spicy chili oil, and pickles. It was a little spicy for me, but I would probably classify it as "medium" rather than hot hot spice-level. Drinks included a lot of nice craft beer options, and ciders, and some great-sounding craft cocktails. Also, negronis on tap! Service was nice. The desserts were outsourced mostly-- some small pies from a local place. Not worth the $11 we paid for the salted honey pie, but can't say the pie wasn't DELICIOUS nor did we regret ordering it :) I would come back here and try more things! I also NEED that eggplant parm recipe. It's this month's greatest mystery! More...

Emmy Squared was high on my list with all of the incredible Instagram photos I had been drooling over and while I am more of a thin crust girl myself, I think they do a really nice dough with ample sauce and toppings to make sure none of the ingredients are too over powering. The pizza was delicious but the star of the show was the caesar salad that has an anchovy dressing with just the right zing! Delicious food, a fun atmosphere and who doesn't love that its right next to the movies? I mean, come on. More...

I've been to Emmy Squared as well as Emily, and this location and menu is similar to both. I came to this one because it's easier to get a reservation here than at Emily in the West Village. The burger is just as good as here, but this isn't my favorite location. It's super loud, so it's almost impossible to hear your friends talk. The service also isn't quite as great as the other locations - it took a while for us to get our drinks. But the food is still delicious, and portion sizes are fair for New York standards. More...

Ordered the Spicy chicken sandwich with a side of fries and the Emmy pizza. Both were very good. The Emmy was different than your typical pie but worth trying if you like banana peppers. The spicy chicken sandwich has 2 crunchy chicken cutlets doused in some sort of spicy salsa picante sauce on a nice pretzel bun. A little pricy but the food it's really good. More...

We came here on a Saturday night and we had reservations. Not sure how easy it is to get in without a reservation. We were super indecisive and our waitress was super patient with us and helped explain all of the menu. We ended up ordering the Emmy pizza and the spicy chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. The spicy chicken sandwich had a sauce on it that we couldn't stop eating. It definitely had a kick to it but it was so worth it. The Emmy was a different type of pizza that we are normally not used to but the banana peppers and the ranch sauce helped balance each other out. The sauce that was on the side was also great to dip the pizza in. I am not normally a fan of Detroit pizza but this place makes it amazing. The crust is super crispy and delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone ! More...

Loved the delicious pizza and fries and chicken tenders. Staff was kind and welcoming. Good to arrive early around 5 if you want to come as walk in. The only thing is that the bathroom could be slightly better.Would definitely return. More...

Excellent squares!  The crust was crispy all around! If you get the one with pepperoni on top, it reminds me of Prince Street. Unlike prince street, this was crispy consistently. The crust was light and airy with many little air pockets so it was like a wafer instead of like a hard cracker. The sauce also had so much flavor. It wasnt just bland tomatoes. Theres a spiced kick to it.  I also ordered their signature burger.  The burger was monstrous too! Just massive of amounts of juicy cheesy meat topped with a pretzel roll. More...

What can I say about this place - NY is known for their pizza and Emmy Squared does not disappoint! We got the Chicago style pizzas but it was not a true Chicago style pizza. Emmy squared is a refreshing take on pizza in a city that is ripe with competition. We tried two pies- the colony is an exquisite mix of sweet and spicy, topped with jalapeños, honey and cup pepperoni. The sauce was delicious and the overall texture of the crunchy, crispy crust complemented each bite. Also tried the hot chicken, a white pizza topped with a delicious glazed chicken doused in a creamy white sauce. Although tasty, it was not true hot chicken (a rare commodity in the north) and made you yearn for that kick. The main issue is that the pies are pretty small-six slices, albeit thick crusted and heavy with toppings. The price per slice, so to speak, is pretty heavily inflated, but you wouldn't expect much less at a trendy pizza joint. I would definitely come back to splurge on other pies, but probably wouldn't be the first choice that came to mind for take-out. More...

I've been meaning to try this place for the longest time and finally got the chance. Came here on a Saturday late afternoon and had a reservation but really didn't need too because it wasn't too packed. We were seated right away and greeted by a friendly waiter. The two of us got a glass of Pinot Grigio and another one of the craft beers they have available. For the three of us, we shared all of the food we ordered. For apps, we ordered the okonomi fries - served with mayo, bbq sauce and bonito flakes. For entrees, we ordered the Emmy and angel pie. I definitely preferred the angel pie over the Emmy but it was a lot more filling since it was served with a cream sauce. More...

Saw this place was recommended by FoodbabyNY and was intrigued because I've yet to try Detroit style pizza. It did not disappoint. Laid back but sophisticated dining space. A bit on the pricier side, but the food was definitely worth it. Split the Big Ang pizza for the table and ordered a Spicy Chicken Sandwich for myself. The pizza had great crunch, lots of cheese and toppings and was super hot. (Each one is made to order). The chicken sandwich was the sleeper. Sweet, spicy, crunchy doubles-patty fried chicken, on a pretzel bun. Best chicken sandwich I've had. If you come, it's a must try! More...

I recently returned from a visit to Detroit, where I had a chance to try the original Buddy's pizza at Conant & 6 Mile. Emmy's rendition of Detroit pizza offers elevated ingredients that enhance rather than override the classic flavor and texture. A friend and I shared a white pie with havarti and ricotta as well as a vodka pie, which we customised with Calabrian chilies as a topping. Both were delicious, and I think the chilies were a winning addition, adding a significant kick to two otherwise mild pizzas.Great airy vibes and a decently eclectic cocktail menu will make this my go-to for Detroit style pizza in NYC. Stopped in for a quick (second) lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the pizza! Emmy Squared offers Detroit style pizza. Going in I had no idea what that meant ...and if you're in the same boat, I'd describe it as a light deep dish. Any deep dish I've had is dense and heavy. This was pleasantly light and airy for the thickness. We got the colony2 which is topped with pepperoni, pickled jalapeño and honey. The pepperoni is crispy and cupped. The jalapeños were visible on the pizza but added minimal flavor at best. The honey added a sweetness that I didn't know was needed, but it certainly made the pizza better. We also got some of the signature cocktails. I'm not sure the names but mine was gin based and my boyfriends was tequila based. They were pricy ($12/$10) but refreshing on a hot summer day. The restaurant is small. The inside probably fits 50 but that would be tight. There's a spiral staircase up to their rooftop. I didn't go up there but from the street it looks nice but HOT. I will definitely be back to try the burger and another pizza! More...

I asked if there was any way we could sit at another table and the hostess just brushed me off--"oh, well you know we have reservations coming in so...".  Not a great first impression. Good experience here! I've tried Lions & Tigers & Squares Detroit Pizza in Manhattan but have been wanting to check this place out. I made a reservation for 6 PM on a Wednesday night, but the restaurant was empty anyway at that time, so we got seated right away. Service here was great, and food was also delicious! We ordered the Le Big Matt burger and the Colony pizza. All the food was delicious! The burger was so juicy and flavorful and the patty was so tender. The pretzel bun was a little salty, but aside from that, I really enjoyed it! The waffle fries that came with the burger were a fun change of pace from normal fries. The Colony pizza had a red sauce base with pepperoni and pepper toppings and honey drizzle. The pizza was good, but I do wish there were a little more sauce and a little less honey. The pizzas are pretty thin, about 1 inch, and the crust was perfectly crunchy. Had a wonderful meal for sure, although I think New York-style pizzas are still my favorite! More...

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday around 6 to make sure we had time to catch their happy hour (half off beers and wines). They had a small selection of familiar local beers, but enough to satisfy most tastes. The wine and cocktail selection was much more extensive. No issue getting a seat when we arrived, but by the time we left around 730 there was a considerable wait for a table. I had the hatchback, I loved the balance it had between the kick provided by the chiles and chorizo and the mellow flavor from the crema and white base. The chiles reminded me more of banana peppers than I expected, but it still tasted great. The only small complaint I could think of would be that the chile to chorizo ratio was higher than I would've liked, but it wasn't egregious. My friend ordered the vodka pie. I hadn't particularly enjoyed vodka slices from Detroit style places in the past, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tried one of his! The sauce had a fairlymild flavor, allowing the caramelized cheese on the crust and light garlic to shine through. It tasted like you took some of the best cheesy garlic bread and dipped it in some vodka sauce. Your experience with the portion size will definitely depend on how hungry of a person you are. I thought the pie was the perfect size to be quite full but not hate myself. However I'm a very hungry person, so I could see a group of 3 people splitting 2 pies and being very satisfied or 2 not very hungry people even sharing one. Overall, I think this is a great spot to try out a wide range of an incredible style of pizza (if you haven't tried Detroit style yet you need to fix that ASAP). They have enough toppings options to satisfy any taste and I certainly could see myself coming back here soon. Your experience will vary in terms More...

My sister and I treated my family to dinner here on Friday night in the Gulch location for my dad's birthday. We started with the Eggplant Parm app, which was stellar. The eggplant was sliced super thinly (almost like a potato gratin) and was mixed with mozzarella and tomato sauce. The only thing I didn't like about it was the cold, wet burrata on top. The app already had plenty of cheese in it, and this didn't really add anything to it. I enjoy  burrata, but this was a really strange texture to add to the dish. However, we still really enjoyed it and I'd probably order it again, but without the burrata. My sister ordered the burger (which they will only cook either medium or well-done, no med well fyi), and said it was really tasty. It was recently voted as the number 1 burger in the area by the Tennessean. She said the sauce on it was delicious and she'd definitely order again. My parents ordered the hot chicken wedge, and they both really enjoyed it. They said it was definitely very spicy (and my mom normally orders her's hot at any hot chicken join around here) and they loved the ranch sauce that it came with. I ordered The Colony pizza, but subbed the jalepenos with sausage because I'm not the biggest fan of jalepenos. This pizza was delicious and everyone at the table loved it and agreed it was worth ordering again. The honey on top paired really well with the salty, crispy pepperonis and the sausage that I added. All in all, our meal was enjoyable, we had great service, and there were plenty of drink options for everyone. My only complaints were the small space the restaurant had (felt a tad claustrophobic in that teeny dining room next to all the other diners)  and honestly the price. It was 170 after a 20% tip (one app, four dinners, three cocktails), and that just seems a tad outrageous when it's a pizza joint, but it was fun to do for the special occasion. More...

Yum yum yum. This place has now risen to the top of my list of pizzas in NYC! Came at about 730 on a Friday with no reservations. Luckily, their bar and a few high-top tables in the front are first-come, first-served (very convenient). Also the view from the front was great - they have these big windows that open out onto the street and was perfect for a pretty summer evening. The pizza was excellent - we got the vodka pizza which was crispy with the perfect sweet / salty sauce. Emmy squared is a very small and cramped restaurant. It's cute, just small. That is something to keep in mind if you are thinking about bringing a large party. I ordered the colony pizza and zia waffle fries. The fries were delicious and a generous serving for an appetizer. The colony pizza was also delicious. The pizza was baked to perfection and my favorite part about it was the honey. It gave a sweet contrast to the pepperonis and jalapeños. The food was great but way too high in price for what it is. Emmy Squared is my lifeblood :) I live dangerously close and visit whenever I have a friend in town and want to show off Williamsburg's best. Normally I need to sit at the bar, since I never make a reservation. The good news for me is that the bar tenders are very friendly and the drinks are amazing (and strong). At first I was skeptical about square pizza. But omg let me tell you - Emmy Squared has concocted some of best and most thoughtful pizza creations in NYC. This is a great space for this new restaurant. The noise level was low, the seats were comfy and it was an overall nice ambience! It's clear some people are still being trained but the management clearly has a good thing going for them. Our waitress(es) were not only attentive, but friendly and laid black as well. The food itself was tasty too! We split the broccoli salad and the Margherita pizza with mushrooms. The broccoli was a bit raw for my taste and the pear and cashews weren't as abundant as I would have liked but it was still great overall. The pizza was cooked perfectly but we didn't expect for the burrata to be added afterwards. It was a bit cool for our liking. In sum though both were good portions for splitting between two people. They've done it again! Bravo, Emmy Squared! You have brought high quality pizza, burgers and farm fresh fare to another Nashville location. Love your Gulch restaurant, but I like this one even more. Waaaaay more space. I was a longtime fan of the previous tenant here, but you have done the space proud. You will do very well here. Reasonable prices, great food. Plus, you can walk to the movies or the mall... in just a few steps. There is a reason the Tennesseean named this burger one of the best in town. The zippy specialSauce and the pretzel bun are where its at! My favorite pizza is the green pepper mushroom. Family feel-good food done really well. The kind of local place that becomes a staple treat for the whole family. Simple food is the focus, a bit greasy, but made with every technique to make it taste as good as possible. Overall: 4.3 / Food: 4.6 / Service: 4.5 / Space: 4.7 / Value: 3.5In terms of taste, the LE BIG MATT (the famous Emmy burger) is in the top 5 burgers to eat in all of nyc. Not the classiest burger ever, its greasy, saucy, and only cooked medium...so from a purist perspective, I can't say it's the best. But, man, the flavors on this thing are impeccccccable. Decently spicy and just a super juicy burger that coats your mouth- with a pretzel bun to boot. If you're in the mood for a good burger, this is must go-to. And it comes with waffle fries...mmmmm. The MARGARITA PIZZA was similarly greasy but delicious and in deep-dish square form which is my personal favorite. The CHICKEN PARM SANDWICH does not skimp on the chicken and is tasty, but if you're getting a sandwich you'll be jealous of whoever at your table got the burger. The space is enormous, with lots of tables and booths. Between the food and the space, it's the perfect space to bring tons of friends before a night out or bring the whole family. I'm a big fan of that burger but I will say it's expensive. It's $25- so it's priced as a super gourmet burger, but I'll say the taste is there. Other menu items are more fairly priced. My biases: I'm a mid-twenties male from NYC with a mean sweet tooth, a desire for lots of food, and an appreciation for high-quality -- but only at a value. Emmy/emily truly know pizza. In my opinion, one of the best pizza places in New York (and probably my favorite)! I have had the Big Ang, the Hot Chicken Pizza, the Colony Sqaured, and the Hula Hog. All incredible in their own right, however, so far the Hula Hog is the best I have tried. What makes Emmy squared's pizza so good is the crust - it is so good that you could try any pizza with any topping and it would still be incredible. On this summer pizza tour I had to hit Emmy Squared. Square pizza is honestly my favorite. Detroit style, grandma slice, Sicilian, SoHo Square. ..ect. Emmy Squared is a perfect example of a Detroit Style done right. Crust is about an inch thick and it's airy, light, and buttery. The cheese is baked right up to the edge of the pan so the crust of the pizza has a nice crispy cheese on the perimeter. Emmy Squared has a ton of classic plus creative toppings/options. I opted for a Roni' supreme which was a red pizza with pepperoni and hot peppers. Only thing I would change is back off on the peppers a little bit. The pizza wasn't too spicy by any means but the strong vinegary flavor of the peppers dulled all the other flavors a little too much. I also got a white pizza which I added burrata to. That pizza was the highlight of the meal. No critique, it was perfectly amazing. Regarding service, seating, and ambiance: We had literally no wait for a table of two. There is a bar and seating upstairs and sometimes they open the downstairs area for additional seating. The atmosphere is casual and dimly lit, in a good way. Service was great, we were taken care of. The pizza took about 20 mins which is typical for a freshly made and baked pan pizza. Only difficult thing for us was parking. We had to park about three blocks away after circling the place 3 or 4 times, not the restaurants fault, that's NYC for ya. More...

Went here a few weeks back when some family were in town. It is super small, so you have to make sure to get a reservation. I'll have to start by saying that I had seen several pictures of their burger as well as several comments about how it is the best burger in town, so my expectations were high. The food was very good, but maybe didn't quite live up to those expectations. My wife got a burger and I got the pizza with jalapeño, pepperoni and honey. Both were great. A little quirk with the service was that my wife asked for club soda, which is usually free unless the waiter specifies it's bottled. She then asked for a refill and the waiter made no mention of it not being free. We got the bill back and found out it had been 2-3$ for each glass. It's good quite good in some aspects but also rather expensive. Like very expensive $25 burger big but not that big. Go to the brindle room if you want a burger. The le big Matt burger good! But soooo salty like very salty overpowered the burger. The texture taste and edibility were all very good so I'd say try it but I won't come back for it. The pizza. Very good but also not sure worth the price but it is unique and delicious for the area. Deep dish pies with buttery crust and incredible sauces on top. It's good really good. We come back from time to time to cheat a little you won't feel good after but try it so you Make your own call. Summing it up. Worth trying not worth becoming a regular More...

Came here to try the burger, I have heard and seen so many vids about this burger!!!It was delicious, no doubt. But it was so so salty, unnecessarily so. I think my fave burger in the east village is still the brindle room. The ambiance is wonderful here and the food is excellent but I personally found everything over salty/seasoned.We sat at the bar and had excellent and attentive service I would recommend this place to my friends!! But I wouldn't personally order the burger again...I'm so happy to have Emmy sq in the neighborhood they are doing a great job :) More...

This place is AH-MAZING! I know this is going to sound unbelievable, but I swear, they have THE best cheeseburger and THE best pizza I have ever had. I am literally in awe that this one restaurant has managed to perfect both a pizza and a cheeseburger. I never know what to get when I go, because they are both sooo good! If you want good food and good service, this place is a MUST!!!! One of my favorite restaurants in Nashville!!!! More...

The food is so, so good here and the staff is very sweet. I'm more than ok waiting 30 minutes without a reservation for Emily quality. However, the layout of the space is quite literally so shitty. The bathroom door usually isn't closed all the way, and the light in there is always on. I don't want to look at a literal toilet while I am eating the most expensive and delicious fried chicken sandwich of my life. Please get a curtain, a different door, any sort of interior design solution, I beg you. I know space is tight, but if you search for an answer, Emmy Brooklyn, I know you will find it. I'll come back when you do. More...

We ended up here after trying several spots to grab a quick bite before a show at The Ryman in a Friday night. This place only has 40 seats. Half of them are on the roof. We scored a spot in the rooftop which for a minute was a bit toasty even at 6:30pm in May. Cocktails Freda nd crafty. Good beers. We ordered the Caesar to start and it was the best I've ever had maybe. Had a yummy green sauce and real anchovies. Don't miss it. Then got the vodka sauce pizza which was - nice compromise between the red sauce and white sauce. Should've added extras and meat to it but legit good. It's Detroit style pan pizza. The waitress said that the burger Le Mat was the names Best in Nash so we got that and she wasn't lying. Pretzel bun. Cheesy goodness, great tasting meat. Service was fast and good. Manager came to the table to check on our experience. Who does that anymore? Another reason to love this place. More...

Update May 2019:On a subsequent visit, the beer selection has improved with a fairly decent locally brewed IPA available by can and the addition of a draft beer, the sessionable Forever Ever IPA from Other Half.  In addition, their burger, which I tried for the first time (and shared with my spouse), is delicious! I'm adding a star to my previous review.  If this trend continues, I might give a fifth star!Original review from Sept 2019:I've been to this location several times so far and am hoping to revise this review in the near future.  I've also been to the Williamsburg location and the W Village location.  I'd like to give 4 or 5 stars in my review to this location as the pizza is consistently delicious and the staff is friendly and welcoming.  I'm holding off on giving more stars for now since the E Village restaurant is still working out opening complications after taking over the former "Three of Cupsspace.  One of the biggest problems is getting taps for beer to work properly.  It's been a few months since the opening and the lines are dry.  This is frustrating given the great selection of brews flowing at the other locations.  I'm not particularly keen on paying 8 or 9 dollars for a 12 oz can of Kelso pilsner, one of the few options on the E Village menu.  I am hoping that this situation will change soon.  Great pizza and fantastic local craft beers are a delightful combination! Took bae and the kids here for a pre mother's day dinner as we've been craving good pizza. So we decided to keep it casual and head to the gulch to try out Emmy Squared. Parking isn't fun in the gulch so just be ready. Typically it's paid parking, you'll find it. Ok walking in immediately love the layout and vibe. It's small and cozy inside. Our waitress greeted us right away and grabbed drink orders. She asked how we heard about Emmy as she was interested in what's working. Which was cool. Drinks came out promptly and and she took our order menu. I love when the service repeats the orders to make sure they have it right. We started with their wings and got the their le big Matt burger, Coloni - pepperoni with jalapeños, and their big ang for dinner. Wings had a interesting sweet spicy peanut sauce flavor that was really good. The burger was amazing - not sure I'd say best in Nashville as the competition is stout. I can name a few but it's about Emmy right now. The pizza was a square thick crust (no thin in the house) but it was fluffy and not necessarily a full thick. If that makes any sense . We got the burger with the Sammy sauce on the side.. as I'm not a big saucy burger. Just meat some toppings and let me taste. I'd highly recommend and glad they're opening a location in Greenhills as we can just walk over for a repeat. More...

I'm not usually a square pizza fan but this place surpassed my expectations. I was a bit wary to try their pepperoni jalapeño pizza drizzled with honey, but it totally works and was delicious. I went with my boyfriend and we got the pizza, half with honey & half without because I was nervous I wouldn't like the honey, but the honey side was SO much better than the non-honey side! we also got the spicy chicken sandwich and it was huge, two layers of chicken, very messy to eat but extremely delicious!! I came here for the pizza but I fell in love with the Le Big Matt burger! I called in my order for delivery but the person that does the delivery's wasn't there and they didn't know if they would show up today. So I had to go on a short 8 min walk to pick up my order. What I was afraid of happening, happened! As soon as I get there it starts raining. But the pictures of the pizza flash in my mind and made the trip worth it. We started off eating the pizza right away, it looked amazing. I ordered a double pepperoni Colony, it's expensive for the size that you get. The pizza was good, but tomato sauce was really sweet, the honey was good and help off set the strong taste of the over powering sauce. The Le Big Matt burger made up for the pizza and then some. It was one of the Best burgers and I see why that it was a favorite here. It was cooked perfectly, full of flavor and Juicy on a pretzel bun. The Burger comes with waffle fries which were good. It's about $20 for the meal. On the expensive side for a burger but it is really good. It's a must try. More...

Wonderful service and food. A bit on the salty side, but tasty nonetheless. The waffle fries were fried to perfection, and zia-ing them added a nice touch. The wings were delicious, although I wish they had been a tad bit crispier. Very messy to eat, but they provided wipes which was nice. Then the main event. I love a good pretzel bun, and suffice to say, I was satisfied. The burger was cooked beautifully and was dripping juices upon consumption. Well done! More...

5 star experience at a pizza restaurant, whose pizza I'd give a B+? Sounds a bit odd, but that burger is divine. Top 5 NYC burger and that's saying something. Plus, the scene and service were great, and if you get there before 7:30 (M-F) drafts and wine are half off, which is what I call a steal. So back to the pizza...it was good, well executed with quality ingredients, but I guess this New Yorker just has a thing for thin, round pies burgeoning with crust. Sorry Motown! I am writing this review as I go through my experience there; We got to Emmy square around 8:00PM and we got our table very fast. The waitress was very friendly and we placed our order right away. I got the Okonomi fries and the spicy chicken. My husband got the big Matt. He really enjoyed his burger. The Okonomi fries was true to taste: with bonito flakes and mayo (I have done my research on how it should taste before coming here). It  was excellent and I would recommend it. Now warning; the spicy chicken is actually REALLY SPICY. Mind you; I love spicy food (my culture cook everything with crushed peppers) however this one caught me off guard. My husband let the manager know that we wanted to fix that. He was nice and took it out. the waitress that brought the burger back looks like she was not happy abt the situation (or I could be wrong). Either way I dont care; a customer need to share her feedback. The manager (I believe he was) stopped by to ask me if the remplacement burger was better.. sometimes its the little thing in customer service. More...

Pretty good Detroit style pizza! Got the vodka pie and the Caesar salad. Super delish! You don't get a ton of pizza for $20 so def recommend getting a few pies depending on how many people you have. It's more of an individual pie, I guess. Service and vibe is fine! Nothing to write home about, but I definitely appreciate pizza that is a lil different than traditional NY pizza. I heard this was the best burger in NY. And now I believe it. Le Big Matt uses Pat LeFreida meat, and they cook it to a medium (server didn't ask how we wanted it), but with a crispness to the outside that I've never tasted before. The bun was also beautiful (and I normally never pay attention to the bun.) Sammy sauce was good, could have done with a little less, but the excess didn't take away from the burger. Be warned it gets real messy eating this burger.Waffle fries that came with the burger, also EXCELLENT. Big and crispy. Also ordered the Colony pizza. And that was also really good. Different with the jalapeños and honey, but they complemented each other very well. Very good, although not on the same level as Emily for me. First visit, we got the mixed olives, okonomi fries, shredded sprouts, Le Big Matt burger, chicken parm sandwich, colony, vodka, and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The burger and colony are both excellent, although in both cases, I prefer the original Emily versions. I really liked the fries too. Move over Domino's. Emmy Squared is a bad bitch in the game. Like my girl Cardi B says... "I think us bad bitches is a gift from God. " Shout out from the Man up top for the gift of delicious pizza that is known as Emmy Squared. We were running late for our rezzie last Friday and they were super accommodating about our late arrival time. Bonus points. We ordered a few pizzas and the red leaf salad for our group of 5 to share. Red leaf salad: MEH. Literally just red leaf with dried cherries paired with a vinaigrette. Absolute best burger in Nashville I dare you to take my word for it! I didn't believe it at first, I'm a strong Pharmacy guy and have been for years, but I was willing to give this place a shot because a trusted buddy vouched for it. My skepticism rose  tremendously once I got there and saw the price of the Big LeMatt $19! NEVER HAVE I EVER...paid $19 for a "bigger." There is a reason for that...never before was a burger worth it...BUT this burger was worth every bite AND THEN SOME! Not to mention (even though I will) the crispy, salty (but not to much) really well cooked WAFFLE fries. They tasted like Chick-fil-As waffle fries on crack! I felt guilty afterwards because I would have paid $50 for the combo so I felt like I came up! Staff was Nashville friendly and very attentive and helped each other out with each table (I love teamwork in a restaurant). I want to give this place ten stars!!!! So I will.... Off the charts! Best burger in Nashville? Hands down, no doubt, best burger in America! The meat and the sauce...just ridiculous. So fresh! The pizza was unique. The crust looks like a thick pie but is actually super light and crispy. Excellent flavor. My husband and I agreed reminiscent of an Italian casserole, but not. The Kale Salad was so very simple but bursting with flavor. The loaded fries were scrumptious! The smoky bacon and crispness of the fries (even under the layers which is hard to achieve) made these the best smothered fries we've ever tasted. I'm telling you this place is crazy good. Hip atmosphere, great music, excellent wait staff. The manager came over at the end of our meal and asked was everything ok. Emmy Squared is very small, maybe 15ish tables, so make a reservation. OMG my friend introduced me to this place last weekend, and I was practically crying because the food was so good. We got to the restaurant around 9 on a Friday night and the wait was about a half an hour. Definitely worth it for that pizza. We tried the burger and a few different pizzas. The only odd thing was that they brought out all the dishes at different times in no particular order.  The burger is PERFECTION. It's so rich, the cheese complements it perfectly, and the pretzel bun is the cherry on top. The colony pizza came after that - also delicious, but pretty spicy. So if you are a wimp like me, be prepared. The margarita was amazing too, the clumps of mozzarella on the top are super fresh. And for white pizza, we ordered the marn blanc. The ricotta made it on the sweeter side, which I loved. If I lived remotely near this place I would probably be here every other day. More...
