We hired Emerald in mid-May to make numerous repairs to our aging but beloved flagstone walkway. One of the repairs was very complicated, as one of the large stones had broken into four pieces because the foundation underneath had eroded over time. We need a real expert, but we were concerned that contractors would deem the job too small to mess with. Emerald was the most responsive of the companies we reached out to for quotes, and they were reasonable in their quote, in our estimation. Despite the havoc caused by the many rains the past few weeks, Emerald completed the job within three weeks. It turned out better than we could have hoped, and will allow us to avoid a much more costly and likely less appealing replacement. The communications were outstanding throughout, particularly with Peter and Kim at the office. The two guys would did the work were both pleasant and highly skilled. I contracted with Emerald Landscaping to re-landscape the small front yard of my townhouse. They removed weeds and dead/dying shrubs, planted new shrubs, mulched, and replaced my lawn with new top soil and sod. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and polite, the workers left the site tidy and did a nice job installing the new shrubs and sod, and the work was completed quickly once it was started. The only negative is that I did not receive any notification of when the job would start - I had to call and ask. However, when I found out the work was scheduled to start just before I was due to leave on a vacation, Emerald was very flexible about delaying the work until I returned so that I would be able to provide daily watering for the new shrubs and sod. I contracted with Emerald Landscaping to remove and replace a large retaining wall (170+ feet) on my property. They removed the old railroad
tie wall, plus a number of good size trees, which required a great deal of skill and care since the wall was very close to my neighbor's house. The old wall was replaced with a Nicolock block wall, beautifully installed. All grading and landscaping was accomplished very professionally. I am extremely pleased with the excellent work they did under very difficult circumstances. Would highly recommend this company.

Our front steps had to be demo'd and rebuilt. Sam (the owner) is incredibly easy to work with and very flexible. We were working with a tight timeline with our daughter's birthday (and ensuing party/out of town guests etc) and Sam was able to get the job done as promised. As a landscape designer, I'm pretty critical about the installation of my designs. During the process of selling my townhome, I hired Emerald to install a front foundation planting. They beat/met any of the contractor's estimates I sought out as well as worked with me on possible plant substitutions (deer). The health and vigor of the plants were good and Sam made sure to correct any discrepancies in plant sizes. The fresh mulch and sharp bed lines made for a clean, attractive curb appeal. I received a prompt response for a quote, the price was good, the work scheduled timely and performed well. It rained the night after the work was done, so I am hoping that the mortar will hold up, but I am sure that Emerald will address any problems that might occur.

Completed a sod/mulch install project (approx 650 SF) in backyard of townhouse; the installation looks great. The only problem was that they came and did the work without telling us that they were going to be there that day. The crew did an excelling job. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and the work got delayed (beyond their control). However, as soon as it dried out they were at work. All the work was completed in 2 days. The ground was prepared on day one and the sod laid on day two. They worked long hours to be sure everything was done just right. Emerald was very responsive to a last minute request that they come to help with a drainage problem that was causing problems because we were flooding our neighbor's yard. I really appreciated that. Their customer service people were a delight to work with, and their workmen created a beautiful walkway to our home. The crew really worked hard to make an attractive walk. Emerald Landscaping did a very good job of cleaning up the many weeds and covering the areas with my light blotting material and adding a thin layer of black mulch. The leveled walkway looks beautiful. Tony was very knowledgeable and worked long 9 hour days to finish the job in 2 days with the help of two other workers. The beds and trees were edged nicely. The people at Emerald were very professional and easy to work with. They provided a detailed estimate, were able to accommodate my requests and were prompt. They used good materials and overall the project looks good. The plantings were also very nice. I am happy with the design. There was a little confusion about what materials were to be used for the walkway, and they skipped out once without notice when I took time off from work.
