I encountered a huge problem with my son's initial senior photo shoot which fell through quite literally at the last minute, and only had a few days until I had to return his rental outfit to Georgia, which included a kilt, dress shirt, and accessories. I contacted Doug Burke, who set up an appointment for us less than 24 hours after my phone call to him. He then traveled from all the way from his studio to Pilot Mountain to take photos of my boy, which are absolutely fantastic. I could not have asked for a better photo session; Doug interacted very well with my son, who is a bit introverted, and together they picked out various poses and backgrounds for the shoot. The pictures are crisp, clean, natural, and encompass everything that my son and I were hoping for in a senior shoot. I highly, and I cannot stress this enough, HIGHLY recommend Mr. Burke to anyone who needs to schedule a photo session. It was a pleasure working with Doug for both my bridal portraits and for my wedding. Doug was so friendly and went out of his way to get great shots (including climbing in a tree for better lighting during my bridals). He made me, my husband, and my bridal party laugh so much while taking pictures. What I was most impressed with was his turn-around time for getting our photo gallery back to us; he gave us a time-frame to expect the photos in and I was happy to have gotten them back sooner than expected. Our wedding experience with Doug was amazing to say the least, as soon as I met him and talked with my husband we knew he was the photographer for us. He kept in contact with us before the wedding to make sure the details were set and showed up early on the day of our wedding. My husband and I were worried about having a photographer in our face all day, but I hardly noticed him there. It felt very natural. He did a good job at helping us take photos that were true to us and who we are. The best part was that the morning after our wedding we had already received twenty photos from out wedding to hold us over until we get the rest! Doug was awesome! I have some background in photography, and I was immediately relieved and impressed when I walked into the studio. He has top notch lighting equipment for portraiture, and you can tell he knows how to use it efficiently for the photo effect you want. My wife and I are expecting our 1st child in April and wanted to have some maternity photos done so we contacted Doug and he responded immediately through email. I am in the military and my family hasn’t been together in quite a while and won’t be together again for quite a while. I arrived in Winston Salem two days before Christmas Eve and he was able to do a photo shoot with my family on Sunday afternoon. I would recommend Doug to anyone. When I first came across his work online I was immediately impressed. When I contacted him he immediately responded and even took the time to sit down with my husband and I to answer all of our questions before booking. While at the wedding he was so nice and respectful, I even had multiple friends and family complement how kind he was. We had only booked him for four hrs and due to the wedding running a little behind he still made sure to stay and get all of the important pictures of the cake cutting and garter/ bouquet toss. I was also very impressed with his turn around time. I had asked if we could have a couple sneak peaks since it would take a little while to get all the pictures back. He had me three in less than 24 hrs. Also it typically takes about a month to get pictures back and he had my gallery up in less than two weeks. The best thing about this is he actually sent me the link on my birthday which was amazing.
