I had an unusually bad experience caused by something out of the staffs control, but what happened next really upset me.

I was unable to check in on the app. When I got to the hotel I was early by 30 minuets but I asked and they very nicely let me check in early.

But... I was asked what type of room I wanted. I thought that was an odd question so I made sure she knew I had a reservation. I was informed the “system was down.” She asked for my ID and credit card and hand wrote those details on a sheet of paper with many other lines of information like mine. That made me uneasy for sure.

Then I was asked if I was a Hilton member. That is upsetting because getting to gold with Hilton is tougher than most hotels. I also found out there was a large group of diamond members there too. So we did not get any contracted upgrades, or perks.

But the worst was how you get to your room. They call housekeeping who meets you at your room. Without ID I was let into my room. I had left something in the car so my only choice was to leave my door unlocked while I went to go get it. When I got back someone was in my room thinking it was theirs. I understand why they thought that because they had the room next door. We worked it out.but that got me thinking. This is a mess, to get in and out of my room I have to coordinate with the front desk, or risk the security of my room. What if they let someone else in my room by mistake? I could not handle the uncomfortable nature and checked out.

Stuff happens, but the hotel should have not taken more reservations until the problem was resolved. I found out it had been down from before I made my reservation.

But now I get mad. I let customer care know what happened. The next day I get an email that says the hotel says they spoke to me and resolved all my concerns. LIES. No person from that hotel has spoken to me about this. So this property is shady to me. I would not stay there. Also check out the welcome letter they gave me.

I stayed at the hotel for a business trip. Rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are soft. Front desk staff was nice and helpful when I needed something. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're in the Atlanta area.

Attended second conference here and the staff was excellent. The bar opened a little early to accommodate a group of 15+ and they were extremely hospitable. Food was fresh and the Doubletree cookies are addictive. Concierge staff are extremely helpful. Parking is not covered and no light in or out of facility can make coming and going during rush hour a challenge. A great location for anyone looking for an easy on and off from the top end perimeter.

Great hotel, very accommodating. Easy highway access with Starbucks, McDonald's, and waffle house right across the street. Ample parking and fitness center available. The cardio machines are high tech. Good for conferences.

Rooms are clean, modern and with contemporary furnishings. The hotel is located in a quiet area. The beds have pillowtop mattresses but for me are still a little too firm. I did eat at the onsite restaurant- food was good. There is a charge for breakfast. If in the area again I would probably stay again.

The common areas were modern and clean. Our room was fantastic, very clean and comfortable, as well as stocked with complimentary items. All staff that we encountered during our stay was friendly and welcoming. We experienced several issues during our stay, that we opted to address after our trip. We had some odd charges on our card, but their finance manager contacted me IMMEDIATELY and the situation was resolved. They did not make an error, but the way that my card was charged was unusual- It showed 2 pending charges for amounts I did not spend- that added up to the amount that I did spend- which was totally weird since it was just 1 charge. But that part was handled. The rest of my concerns were absolutely never addressed. So I'm going to just go ahead and post them here.

Our entire floor reeked of marijuana pretty much for the duration of our 2 night stay. It was over powering when walking through the hallways. Which we actually did quite a bit of... since the elevator in the center of the building was out of service for a significant portion of our stay, and we were on the far end without an elevator. No, we aren't just lazy- my husband is a disabled veteran. So we had to walk the full length of the floor to access an elevator, or use a stair well that smelled of urine. Our room as advertised as having a microwave, which it did not. The food we brought from home went to waste, and forced us to incur additional charges. The prices for soda and beer were outrageous! I believe we had 14 beers on our tab one night and it was $89!!!! BEFORE TIP!!!!! They had a cash bar set up inside the banquet hall, but once their ATM went out of service (conveniently) we had no choice but to patronize the main bar.. which sadly closes at 11pm even on the weekends!?

I emailed them upon returning home, to address my concerns. As previously stated, the finance manager contacted me immediately, but at no point did a member of regular management bother with so much as an apology. We don't typically frequent DoubleTree or Hilton properties- but absolutely will not book another one again. I'm sitting here checking prices for our trip to Alabama next month, and have had to scratch several locations off my list, because I simply will not give another dime to Hilton again.

It was clean, and our price was very reasonable, just don't expect anyone to address your concerns if you happen to have any.

The hotel itself is nice, and clean. The problems have to do with management that set ridiculous prices for food and beverages. I attended an event at this hotel and they wanted $11 for a mixed drink, and $4 for a can of pop! That's right if you wanted anything to drink including a bottle of juice from the front desk it was $4 a piece. That is insane. The staff themselves are great, and attentive when it comes to customer service. The issue here has to lie 100% with ownership, and management only stay here if you want to be gouged for everything.
