The Doubletree by Hilton in Bloomington, IL is awesome. Can't go wrong with warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in. The staff were friendly, the room was modern, clean, and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. I really liked having the fitness center available 24/7 -- after being on the road so long and checking in late, I appreciated being able to get a quick workout in. Though I didn't use it, the pool looked nice as well. Would happily stay here again! More...

I loved the Doubletree by Hilton (Bloomington, IL). The front desk person was super friendly and personable. The big warm cookies at check-in are delicious and a fun little perk. The lobby is large and modern. The room was also spacious, modern, and sleek with comfortable beds. I appreciated the in-room coffee maker with tea as well. Also worth mentioning are the 24/7 fitness room with steam room, the pool, and nice courtyard. Absolutely would recommend a stay here, wish we had been staying longer ourselves! More...

Our stay at the Double Tree by Hilton - Bloomington was fantastic! At check in we were given warm cookies, a nice touch. This hotel is quite large with a TGI Friday's attached and a conference area. The beds were SUPER comfortable and the rooms spacious. The TV was nicer than most hotel televisions as well! Breakfast was one of the best comp breakfasts I've had. The usual stuff, but the quality was much better. The coffee was actually pretty great! I really enjoyed spending the morning sitting and drinking my coffee in the spacious and quaint courtyard. Pool, hot tub and work our are we're all available. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! All that being said, no brainer, I'd stay here again. More...

The Doubletree by Hilton in Bloomington is a spacious and comfortable hotel with plenty of on-site convenience. Check in was a breeze and the staff throughout our stay were friendly, professional and pleasant. The rooms were large and comfortable, with two beds, a writing desk and a spacious bathroom with a large hot shower. There is a bar on-site and during check in we were offered a couple free drinks (along with complimentary cookies!). There is also a gym, pool, and hot tub, and the offerings don't stop there. This is a very large hotel, with several large banquet halls and conference  rooms. It is an ideal location for any kind of get together be it a wedding, birthday party, or business conference. In addition to the bar, courtyards and many rooms, there is also a restaurant attached to the hotel. The height of convenience. Our stay here way one of our favorites. We will be back! More...

The Doubletree Bloomington was a very good hotel. We stayed here three nights for a wedding, and the wedding reception was held in the hotel's ballroom.  For the reception, the staff was very attentive, the bartenders efficient and knowledgeable, and the sound & lighting was on point.  As for the hotel itself, the rooms were spacious and quiet, the bed very comfortable (although the pillows were a bit thin/flat), and the TV channel selection was extensive.  There are however a few things that can be improved upon:  The Fitness Center was seriously lacking: only one elliptical rider, one weight pulley machine, and two treadmills.  That's it.  No free weights. No stationary bike. No ab bench. No other weight machines.  And on the topic of fitness, we were disappointed to learn that the hotel didn't have a recommended jogging path: nearly every hotel I have stayed at has a jogging path they recommend for runners.  Even if it is just a set of sidewalks on surface streets nearby/around the hotel, nearly every hotel has one.  Finally, a small complaint the breakfast buffet was only okay: the scrambled eggs were always dried out, bacon was always overcooked, and the lack of any type of sneeze guard around/over the food was concerning. First: I made a mistake when confirming our rooms, at a nearly full hotel expected to sell out, and Chase the desk Mgr.  solved it all in 4 minutes. And what a genuinely genial, pleasant person to deal with. Second: This place is crazy nice. Big rooms, super comfortable beds. Couldn't be nicer. Third: Immaculately clean. I just want to start by saying Ashley Walter is AMAZING! We are so happy we picked DoubleTree for our wedding reception. My husband and I were planning our wedding from Arizona. We flew back to Illinois to look at a few venues in the Bloomington/Normal area and were immediately impressed with the DoubleTree after meeting with Ashley for the first time. Ashley is AMAZING, super organized, prepared and responsive to all correspondence.
When we met with her she provided us with a folder that included a packet of information including the packages they provide, food and drink options. Right off the bat she crunched numbers for us, so we knew exactly what we would be getting into. After meeting with Ashley we knew it was a no brainer that this was going to be our reception venue. Ashley advised me to give all of my vendors her contact information and she would schedule deliveries the day of the wedding for us, final numbers were requested only 4 days prior to the wedding and I met with her 3 days prior to the wedding to drop off our decorations for the staff to set up for us and everything looked perfect. The food at the reception was AMAZING! We had a plated meal served and I didn’t hear any complaints about cold food or it taking too long for our guests to receive their food. The next day we walked down and all of our decorations were boxed and ready for us to take home with us. Thank you so much Ashley and team for making our wedding reception and stay so memorable!

Great service at the front desk, room service, house keeping and breakfast! Clean facility, great location and wonderful staff! Highly recommend. Love that TGI Fridays is connected to hotel and provides room service! We had a family gathering with our parents needing a handicap room and all needs we're taken care of! Thanks to Taylor at the front desk, Stephanie with room service (from TGI Fridays) and Nancy at breakfast (who is simply amazing!) Felt welcomed by all and we'll definitely be back again! More...

Stayed at the DoubleTree for their New Years Eve party. Very nice to just be able to come upstairs after a night out. Their party was very fun. Food was excellent, entertainment was great, and an overall good time. The room was clean though starting to look outdated. I would think they will need renovated soon. The morning breakfast was better than I expected-very good biscuits and gravy. The best part, however, were the cookies at check in. Best cookie ever. The Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in Bloomington Illinois blends an upscale professionalism with the friendliness of any family-run business. That kind of thing is important to me since my job includes driving all day long. I was greeted buy Andrew who was great and checked me in quickly with no problems. They hand you your room key and a warm cookie, which I had to give back because of a diet, but man did it smell good! They also have a TGI Fridays in the same parking lot and a really nice bar in the hotel. My hotel room was spacious and clean. I had a comfortable king-size bed, fridge and microwave, and a big ole TV! I highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back! More...

Staff, bed and WiFi are the plus points of this hotel. Breakfast is also somewhat good (not free) with continental and made to order omelet. Parking is the major negative as it's adjacent to T.G.I. We stayed here for a family wedding. Most accommodating hotel EVER, with down-to-earth yet friendly and courteous staff. The room was immaculate, spacious, well decorated. The "little extras" included a very nice shampoo, rinse, and body cream. The bar was extremely good. My husband was offered a wide variety of beers. The bartender had no problem creating my "special" drink of 1/4 red wine with 3/4 water (I have an ulcer). The wedding reception itself- WOW. Double Tree outdoes itself. My teenagers actually plan on attending ISU now, so they too can be "redbirds to lovebirds" and their reception at Double Tree. The food- excellent. The service- again, friendly and courteous, not stiff at all. I even got my gluten-free meal without a quibble. The most stellar part of waking up at Double Tree Hilton in Bloomington is breakfast. Nancy and her staff make it special. There was plenty for me to eat, including a stellar oatmeal with blueberry accompaniment. There is an omelet bar that will also make eggs to order. Even if your breakfast is free, be sure to tip. These folks give their work the all.All in all, one of the best weekends of my life! And Double Tree helped make it that way. More...

Stayed here 1 night while traveling cross country because we got a great rate by using points and it is pet friendly. The room was nice along with the complimentary water bottles and warm cookies and the breakfast was wonderful even though our voucher was only good for one person. Only con was we had put a note on our reservation that we are traveling with a pet and also called to confirm and the woman who answered told me they were aware. After driving for 12 hours, I really wanted to get up to the room. I was stopped by the woman at the desk who seemed shocked I had my dog with me. She said no one told her and there was no note on the reservation. In the room we noticed a few hairs in the shower along with a sink that was clogged. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I was in the area. More...

Stayed here for a conference.Pros:-Clean, modern, spacious rooms-Nice facilities-great service at the hotel bar-Attached to a TGIFRIDAYS next door to Panera-Front desk staff were friendly, upbeat, and helpful-Conference spaces were recently renovated. Very easy to get to different rooms at the conference-Beautiful ballroom for events-Comfy beds and pillows-large and abundant free breakfast buffet!Cons:-bottled water in the rooms were not free, but the labeling implied that it was free for Hilton Honors members. I was staying on the HH floor, but still got hit with a $3.50 fee for bottled water-would have liked a place to fill a water bottle. It was impossible to do this in the room sinks and I didn't see a water fountain. I asked the front desk where one was in the building and they gave me a complementary bottle from the fridge at the front desk. -would have liked a place to recycle. Had some cans and bottles in the room that I felt bad about throwing them away.-was never offered a trademark cookie :(Overall, a pleasant conference stay. Would definitely recommend this place for events. More...

I am a nursing mother and sometimes it can be VERY challenging to find accommodating places to do the simplest things to help provide food for your child while away from them. I was attending a seminar for business but I wasn't staying the night at The DoubleTree in Bloomington, IL. Which means I did not have a room to do my "motherly duties" on our given breaks. I asked if there was a designated spot for such thing and without hesitation they offered me one of the rooms that was the closest to the convention center and said I could use it during the duration of my 5 hour seminar. I was very grateful for the help. So many places do not offer these types of accommodations - you usually have to resort to pumping in your vehicle crouched down from the traffic or in a bathroom stall- and if you only have one that is electronic... Good luck finding a discrete and private area to plug into. So thank you to the fine kind folks at The DoubleTree!  The hard working mothers across the world salute you!  Ps the new remodel looks amazing! More...

Double tree hotel I love you. I attended the Heart/ Joan Jett concert March 20th 2015. I loved the fact that this hotel had shuttles taking people to the show. We could relax enjoy the show, and drink with no worries. And best believe I took full advantage of that!        The staff was all super cool, and the cookie upon check in is always nice. I take back the word nice cuz those Motherf*cking cookies are EVERYTHING.  The prices were pretty awesome as well. We stayed on a pretty nice  room with two beds (3 people), and it was only about 120 bucks. That wasn't bad.              I love that there is a TGI Fridays attached to the building. We hit that bar up after the show and had some food to soak up that liquor. I was quite shocked with how much food the Double tree serves for breakfast which was also included for all three of us. They had so much to choose from.           This hotel had so many positives that I'm looking for another reason to come back. I can't wait for the next concert. You really can't beat what they provided for that price! - Shuttle to the concert-Breakfast included - Nice rooms - AND LETS NOT FORGET THAT DAMN COOKIE. They even gave me another one! Illinois good safety symposium conference is here today and I have to say I am quite pleased at the conference location and space. It's a really nice hotel and the ample parking provided. THis is something I can really appreciate as some Hotels have parking but only enough for 100 cars, this particular hotel has parking in front on the side and in the back, also another entrance. I can appreciate a Hotel that has history and I love it when staff know about the history. The rooms are nice and have everything you need, I was lucky enough to ask for the highest floor possible and they accommodated. My room had microwave, fridge, desk and all the things I needed for a pleasant stay. I am very thankful for that. It was nice to always have toiletries when I needed them, and of course the maid who took care of the room was going to be happy, as I love to tip them accordingly since my mom once was a maid at another hotel of course. Another thing that I really love is that there are so many stores all around here. I mean, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Target, the Mall less then a mile away. This is really a convenient spot to be in. I was shopping at various stores all week since I came a few days earlier to relax and have a good time with thinking. Not your typical hotel since it is vintage filled with many antiques so if you want super fancy front desk, go elsewhere, But I like vintage. The only thing that I will say that was not the best is that the chlorine bleach could be smelled from all over the hotel, especially the first floor. But it wasn't super bad for me at all, just a little bothersome. I used a coupon to get a free hotel day stay so make sure you look for coupons buy googling this hotel, plus it had tons of other coupons also that were able to be used around the area. More...

Of the many hotels that I have stayed in here in the Bloomington/Normal area, the Doubletree is my favorite. There are a number of really I prefer this hotel: 1. The staff here are friendly and very efficient at their jobs. I've dealt with Ana, Paul, and Kelsey and each make it great to come here each week. A shorter blond girl was also sweet, but I forget her name.2. They have a bar right on the property in the lobby. Great bartenders and fantastic drink specials. I haven't had the food yet, but it's nice to be able to get a drink and some snacks right downstairs.3. If you're staying at a hotel in this area, there is a good chance you are working at Big Red. This is the closet hotel to their corporate headquarters, which makes the drive to work a breeze.4. Rooms are nicely appointed and clean. Some rooms have fridges and microwaves and all rooms have HBO.5. The warm cookies are amazing. Best cookies in the business!  They don't need to add the calories on the package though!6. Effective, quiet and easy to use AC/Heating units.7. Fun random events for guests. They know must of us here are business travelers and make our lives easier when we're away from home. One thing they need to upgrade is the internet. Right now I'm getting 1MB/sec download speeds which isn't that great.See you at the Brass Elephant! More...

We were driving from California and this was the second stop we had. We arrived at midnite. Most of the hotels were fully booked. I was the one who asked the front desk as soon as we got here because we really needed to rest. The guy said they have one room for $124.99. It was too much and we were planning to go to another hotel that had a $79.99 rate. But my dad who was in California called them and offered a rate of $89.99 but this was excluding the complimentary breakfast which was fine. We got the room and the other guy offered us 3 warm cookies. That was really nice of him since we were super hungry. The hallways were okay. Carpet appeared to be slightly dirty but who cares really. We were gonna stay there for only 7 hours since we had to get back on the road.Room was super clean, tidy. We had two full beds, a flatscreen TV, Wolfgang puck coffeemaker, Oster microwave and a fridge. Bathroom was also clean. The next morning we passed by the lobby and saw the breakfast buffet. Since we didn't avail that, they said it's $6.99/person. We decided to eat there since it's really convenient and we had to be on the road asap. The buffet had a really nice and organized setup. They had coffee machines, a cereal station, french toasts, bacon, fruits and a live station for omelettes. The ladies who were there were really nice and very accommodating! I would recommend this to everyone especially if you could get the rate that we had. More...

I love Doubletree beds. I like to stay here simply for that reason alone. Couple that with the "disaster" rate and free breakfast and I'm sold. I suppose I should explain what the "disaster rate" is... it is when the highway looks like an un plowed neighborhood side street. It's when you are only able to go 30 mph for 3 hours of I-55. It's when there are over 50 cars and truck off roaded and it looks like some kind of end of the world snow storm outside. The "disaster rate" is for when people need to get off the streets and the hotels drop their prices for people like me and my mom who are terrified of driving any further.Thank you Doubletree/Hilton for providing some shelter from the scariest snow storm we've ever had to drive through. Living space was huge, had a wet bar and a refrigerator. Breakfast: The ambiance is a little lacking... Florescent lights, a little crowded, and table arrangements are a bit awkward. Breakfast itself was pretty decent. eggs weren't too "fake"like, soymilk was available. I've stayed at this Doubletree twice in the past 18 months and it is a decent hotel.  Rooms are clean and comfortable.  Work out room is small but open 24 hours.  The breakfast is bar none the best 'complimentary' breakfast I've experienced at any hotel.  Not just the usual carbs...but an omlette station as well.  Check in took a while because a group of seedsmen came in right before me...but this is Bloomington and is surrounded by farm land...so I wasn't surprised.Free Wi-Fi in the room, great coffee...and patient maintenance guy when I called the lobby to report the plug was missing from the hair dryer.  As he patiently hit the re-set button and explained that the hair dryer is wired directly into the power source.  Oops! :-)))Recommended. We had our Wedding and Reception at the Doubletree. Everyting was great. It was nice to have it all in one place so that our guest did not have to leave.

The food at the Doubletree was great!! We had a lot of complements on how good the food was.

Thank you AJ and staff

Just had dinner at a wedding reception here.  EXCELLENT food!  Roast beef loin and Monterrey chicken.  Very tender and very tasty.

Overall I would say this was a great hotel. It was a little pricey for the accommodations, but a pleasant stay nonetheless. We only stayed here one night. I only gave it four stars because of the air conditioner that would loudly turn on every so often in the middle of the night to keep the room cool. It became a distraction that kept waking up my wife. Also, these days I expect hotels of this price to have LCD TVs. My room did not. The breakfast was good, but a little crowded. Perhaps if the price was a little lower, I would have given this five stars. More...

We are our reception at the Doubletree. The place was everything I could ask for. AJ was very helpful through the whole thing. His staff was very nice and made the night go smoothly. My fiance was not very excited about the price of having our reception there, but after the big day, he said he couldn't have imagined it anywhere else. All of our family and friends loved the place. It's def. a little costly, but it came out to be well worth it! More...

This is one of the nicer hotels I have stayed at. Very friendly and helpful staff.  The beds and bedding where extremely comfortable.  Everything was very clean. Hotel has a bar and TGI Fridays restaurant.  Great room service and they serve a free breakfast in the hotel.  Cannot beat the price!  I have stayed at several other hotels in the area and Double Tree tops all of them. (The Doubletree only did my catering, I did not have my wedding there)

Stephanie, the event coordinator, is amazing. She is genuinely nice and, most importantly, completely on top of everything. I never felt like I was bothering her and we had no miscommunications (quite a feat in wedding planning!). To top it off, even though I had off-site catering, I had a dining manager (Ben - also very nice and responsible) with us the whole night just in case we had any issues - we didn't, of course, but it was a nice touch. The food was great and competitively priced based on the other nice caterers in town (CJ's, Michaels, Central Station etc). They do a free tasting and have many many meal options and choices to suit everyone. More...

Stephanie did a wonderful job. The food was amazing and it was so beautiful in the banquet room. We couldn't have asked for a better day and night.

It was actually the venue for my reception, not the ceremony. It was so beautiful and the wedding coordinator for the hotel, Stephanie, was really great to work with. Because my wedding was on a Sunday, they threw in a few things for free that weren't in use that day, and provided WONDERFUL food for all of our guests. Their honeymoon suite was included in our package, and that room was very impressive. We were very happy with the staff, the decor that they provided for us, the food, and the whole reception alltogether! More...
