High recommend, very professional but also down to earth when you need it because all the planning can be stressful. I think every wedding doesn't go step by step like you want and that's were Barry and his wife Jill step up. If something takes a little bit longer and the timeline shifts a little, they make the transition very smooth. Their website is easy to use when planning your wedding,especially the song section. I am so glad that we went with Barry and his amazing wife Jill for our wedding! They truly are such an amazing team, not to mention a beautiful example of love.

My husband and I met with Barry and Jill when we were in the midst of looking for a DJ for our wedding, but after that first meeting our search was over! They are SO extremely professional, poised, organized, and overall excited to have the opportunity to be a part of your big day. They were always responsive to emails, and his online system makes it so easy to request songs, set up the schedule of events, and even put songs you don't want to hear.

We were so lucky that Barry knew our venue (The Lesner Inn) so well, but it was apparent he would thrive anywhere. On the wedding day, he and Jill set up and tore down absolutely everything on their own! Our guests even thought that Jill was my wedding planner, as she was running around making sure everything went perfectly to plan, and for that I am so thankful.

Barry and Jill McKay are SUCH an awesome team! If you are looking for the perfect DJ - these are the folks to hire immediately! I am kind of picky on my music - I am the type of person who creates my own "wedding playlist". Barry and Jill were so accommodating to play certain songs that I had picked out. What makes Barry special is how he reads the audience. He kept everyone on the dance floor ALL night. Everyone had an absolute BLAST! What makes Jill special is how she kept the flow going throughout the night (which is something a wedding coordinator would do, and we didn't hire one). I would give Barry and Jill more than 5 stars if I could. They were absolutely amazing at reading the crowd, and we had guests of all ages. Everyone I have seen after the wedding says to me, "your dance floor was PACKED the entire night!" We had a blast and would choose them over and over again! It's been a couple of weeks since our wedding but the thing our friends keep commenting on was how awesome our DJ was. AMAZING! WOW! Best decision we made for our wedding!!! These are just a few of the ways we can describe our experience with DJ Barry McKay. He and his wife Jill were an absolute God send to us for our wedding. They were everything we could have wanted from a vendor and so much more.
First, the music was perfection. We had an eclectic group of people at our wedding ranging from kids to elderly, which means we needed a variety of music genres. There was never a dull moment. The dance floor was always full because it was genuinely the type of music we all wanted to dance to. Even someone who just had hip surgery couldn't stop themselves from grooving to beats.
Second, they were incredibly prepared. Dj Barry and Jill worked with us on multiple phone calls to get the details down. They actually were the ones who created our day of wedding timeline! They gave us advice on some wedding planning ideas, and they never made us feel uncomfortable for some of our nontraditional music requests. They seemed genuinely interested in how our wedding would turned out.
Third, the above and beyonds. We never requested that music be played before the wedding, but as we were take some first look photos, to our pleasant surprise we heard music playing, which really set the tone for guests to mingle. It was wonderful to know that Dj Barry was able to take the initiative to make our day better. The best thing they did for us was something we didn't find out about until months later. We had asked a friend of ours to be the officiant for our wedding. She surprised us with confetti poppers during the ceremony. A venue manager came out and scolded her for not getting this approved. Our friend was very embarrassed and upset over this, but told us that Jill came over and comforted her, and that both Jill and DJ Barry helped the venue pick by hand the confetti pieces. BOOK THEM NOW!! We were so happy with our decision to use Barry for our wedding. When our planner first suggested him, I know his name was familiar from the radio, and my first thought was “oh no, I don’t want some corny radio DJ. ” Well, I have to say, he is nothing of the sort!! We have wanted to write a review for several months now, but with my father waiting for a heart transplant and having to stay in the hospital for long periods of time, it has been hard. DJ Barry McKay and his wife Jill are an amazing team. They time every detail of your ceremony and reception to a T. Barry did the music for both our ceremony and reception, and everything went very smoothly. I really appreciated his flexibility to have speakers set up in multiple rooms. So many other DJs charge an extra fee for that sort of thing, but if you have multiple rooms for your guests, it is a necessity!

Barry's energy during our reception was outstanding and he kept our guests out on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG. My guests were all raving about how great our DJ was and how much fun they had. I loved how well he engaged everyone on the dance floor and how on-point he and Jill timed everything throughout the night.

DJ Barry was the BEST! We had very specific requests on the song choices and feel of the music at our wedding and he was SO accommodating! We loved working with him and his wife- Jill. Jill is very organized and calming- she will definitely help your night flow smoothly! Barry was so good and got everyone on the dance floor even though we had an older crowd. He was not corny or cheesy and made our wedding feel expensive even though we choose to do a DJ and not a band.
