When I moved to KC 5 years ago, I didn't know where I was going to go to get my hair done. Through a random Google search, I stumbled upon Deidre; she had good reviews and accepted appointments online so I decided to give her a try. I'm so glad I did. She's professional and good at communication. She's usually the one to remind me when it's time for a relaxer. She's flexible with her appointments and always let me know if she is running late. I moved from out of state so I was stressed on finding someone new to do my hair and get my relaxer done. Luckily I found Deidre online. Deidre is very personable and you can tell she cares about your hair as her client. She likes to experiment and try new things to figure out what is the best product for your hair. She has her own room at Sola Salon, so you don't have to worry about waiting with a bunch of other clients sitting around. My friend and I were looking around for someone trustworthy to dye our hair the vibrant/bold colors we wanted. Once we found Deidre, we knew we were in safe hands! She made sure to to understand exactly what we were wanting and made a point to instruct us on how to take care of our relaxed hair after the color was put in. Deirdre was great! She's friendly and knows her stuff. I went into my appointment with fried, badly bleached hair and she took her time to make my hair healthy and beautiful. I am not very good at taking care of my hair, so she recommended a few products that I should use, but did not pressure me into buying them. After a very bad experience with a haircut 1 1/2 yrs ago I decided to try again and trust someone to do my hair. I found Deidre's salon read reviews on her service and decided to give her a try I really liked how she took the time to talk to me about my hair she asked questions as to what products I used on my hair and how often (I never had any stylist take time out like this before my visit or during) she's really concerned about problem areas and gives you suggestions as to what will need to be done to get your hair back healthy. She's very personable and the setting is very private for those who aren't crazy about others seeing their flaws. No overlapping of other clients sitting around talking etc. it's just you and her one on one. My hair feels and looks sooooo good it has body and shine she did a awesome job and I look forward to going back. My hair dresser of several years recently retired and Diedre is the first stylist I tried, to great results!  Not only is her work well done, she's extremely personable and puts you at ease immediately.  She asked in advance what kind of products my former stylist used so she had them on hand and communicated everything she was doing along the way, which made me feel very comfortable.  She also followed up the next day to see how my hair was doing.  It was a great experience and I will definitely be going back! I've moved around a lot in the last few years.  As an African American woman with "natural" hair, it's hard to find hair sytlists who I can go to and say, make me look beautiful -- with my own hair.  Well, I found one!  Diedre is awesome.  She has her own little studio where she makes the magic happen.  She is also sensitive to my needs as a busy student.  I don't want to spend time doing anything from my hair on a daily basis, but I still want to look cute.  And boy, am I happy with the style.  One of the classic styles for black women with short natural hair is the single or two stranded twists.  I asked her to do single stranded twists.  She hadn't done them in a while, but we talked about it, then got straight to work.  It looked great afterwards.  Deidre, is always thinking about new hair ideas.  By the time we finished my hair, we had already discussed and looked at several other options for my future appointments.  She cares about quality and establishing a strong relationship with her clients.  She really is a partner in beauty. I have natural hair. I don't like relaxers or texturizers because they break off my hair no matter what. After I grew tired of wearing braids, my friend suggested I go to Deidre's Hair Studio for a wash and press. Where other stylists would run or convince me that I need a relaxer because they didn't want to work with natural hair, Deidre took care of me.
