A great place to eat off of the resort. Delicious food, friendly staff, clean, trendy environment. wholeheartedly recommend
The Loco Moco was amazing! The Green and Gold smoothie was also good and refreshing. No A/C though but it wasn't too bad.
Food was great. Service was good. Nice and mellow place with good coffee as well. The scramble was great even without cheese!
Yes for breakfast!! The Hawaiian French Toast was just perfect, and some of the best I've ever had! In addition, our party of 5 enjoyed 2 orders of avocado toast, a yogurt parfait and an eggs Benedict Portions are just right for individual servings; neither too large or small. However, nobody including myself wanted to share their order. More...
This is our favorite Sunday night date night location. It’s quiet yet perfect being right on the water. The coffee is good and they give a local discount along with the punch card. The outdoor seating is the place to be - to enjoy the sound of the waves and we love the rocking chairs on the porch. We have never eaten their food but it looks good. More...
Loco moco was excellent the meat was perfectly cooked and the gravy was amazing. Also ordered parfait and pancake special and cinnamon honey latte, everything was great but the loco moco was by far my favorite.
Wow. Still taste the delicious sauce on the loco moco hours after I've licked my plate clean. My wife and I went to this place for brunch while staying at the Waikoloa Marriott Resort near by and we were very satisfied. She got the stuffed French toast because she loves French toast and bananas (topped with a banana sauce/custard). I got the loco moco (rice, braised beef, and sunny side up egg). Wesharedboth because we like the mix of sweet and savory. Our waitress (Megan I believe) was great. Very attentive and quick service. We are only here for a week but thinking about going back because we didn't want either dish to end. More...

Very good but to many pancakes.
I was really craving a tasty, "aesthetic" brunch, and Daylight did the job! I chose the Puna Kine Benedict ($16): spinach, heirloom tomato, avo smash, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce with a side of fruit (instead of rice). Eggs were cooked perfectly (nice and yolky), bread was hearty, and the avo smash was heaven. There was so much avocado! Chunky and seasoned well. The fruit happily surprised me as the variety was great (no melons + 1 grape like in the mainland) and it was plated so nicely! They didn't go too heavy on the hollandaise too; 5/5 starsEveryone in my group enjoyed all of their dishes - would also recommend the home fries! Serving size is a little on the small side, but it was perfect for me.Interior of the restaurant is cute- wood/white detailing and a pretty open floor plan. The only thing is that it's so hot inside. I would come back if I was in the area! . More...

Fantastic Food and great service
We had brunch here and it was delicious! The gold and green smoothie was so refreshing and the stuffed French toast was light, doughy and fresh. The lilikoi pancakes were unique and yummy too. Definitely recommend! More...
Hubs had the loco moco and loved it. The meat was cooked really well, with a yummy brown gravy and two eggs. Good portion size and price. I had the basic breakfast with fresh fruit and was happy with my order. Large portion sizes and 5 pieces of !!! Service was good and people were friendly. Ordered takeout and got the French toast--was very good but small for price. More...
Granola-ry. There was a young couple there with two small children. The infant the dad carried around everywhere, 100% totally naked. I was waiting for the infant to have an accident. The other small child (2 or 3) was in a diaper only, running around all while Mom was coloring or on the phone. (Owners? Guests,?) Why was this allowed? The food was spectacular, the price along with it $70) for the two breakfasts in the picture and two smoothies. I would return for the food, BUT would seek out to see if young junior was Stark naked.. if so, I would go elsewhere. More...
Yummy with the glorious view and old friend.
Fantastic food and service!
I love getting the sides of avocado smash with sweet bread toast and coffee. Small and filling breakfast.

Delicious breakfast enjoyed the French toast thou a little too sweet. The eggs Benedict with avocado smash was wonderful.
Another great hole-in-the wall. Food was good. I'm not a fan of chives on my chicken fried steak or fried rice, so heads up if you're in the same boat, they'll come with it. The French toast was wonderful. They're known for their pancakes, and now we know why. They are as large as the plate, and there are 2 per order. It's far more than any one person should consume, but they looked wonderful. I'd go there again just to get the pancakes now. Oh yeah, the bacon is wonderfully crispy. All portions are generous. We liked it, and the staff are very friendly. More...

Very interesting and enjoyable tour of the coffee plantation. Would highly recommend. I cannot wait to taste the coffee that I had bought.
Great service, great food and great ocean view. I want to make it for yoga at some point.
We just had a wedding reception here! It was awesome!! The staff was friendly and helpful! The view was gorgeous! The set up was convenient! The food was tasty! Overall, the whole experience was fantastic!! We are glad we had it here!! Thank you!! More...
Fantastic view, can't beat it! Their coffee is great, and it's a wonderful way to spend a morning enjoying your coffee and the view.
Great for breakfast!
Well worth it! We went here our first morning in town. It was recommended by the property manager. And it lived it up to all the hype. The food was delicious and the portions were worth it. The staff were extremely friendly. It was a beautiful place and I highly recommend it! More...

Incredible seaside restaurant with delicious food, flavorful drinks, and a stunning view. Not only was our meal exceptional, the space was tranquil and stunning. The staff was attentive. I would strongly suggest anyone visiting Kona to go to this place- it is a necessary experience! More...
During busier seasons you'll want a reservation. This place is great for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The special is typically an island style of pancakes like pineapple and coconut. For lunch we always share an order of avocado fries. Can't go wrong with the entire menu. Great fresh food. More...
Good vibes, a little pricey though.
Great coffee! We went here everyday while staying at the Waikoloa resort and I even drove back there after we moved further north to the Fairmont. Very fun local vibe. Never had breakfast here but it always looked delicious. If you need a delicious coffee place while on your trip that isn't Starbucks or resort coffee, I highly recommend this place. More...

Great food and friendly staff
The poached eggs with the pork... So much goodness
Pleasant atmosphere and good food.
Enjoyed their coffee every morning. Macadamia nutMilk was an unusual but great change in my morning latte. Fun to talk to locals at the coffee bar (which turns into a real bar later in the day.).
Excellent food and brunch cocktails. Service was steller and our server Gina was extremely nice and gave us some tips for exploring the big island.
Very friendly staff that genuinely made me feel welcome. Very attentive. The food was light and filling using fresh local ingredients. The menu had a nice mix of island dishes and American favorites. We ordered from the brunch menu and loved what we got. Fantastic view right on the water with a nice cool breeze. Reasonably priced for the high quality of the ingredients. They also had the nicest bathrooms I have seen on this entire trip. A great spot for events as well. More...
Had the Puna Kine Benedict with egg substitute and hollandaise on the side. Sourdough bread is not the SF kind but brown and thin. Avocado smash is like guacamole. Great for vegans especially with spinach and tomato. Walked in at 9 am on Monday morning. More...

Tasty food with a beautiful view
Great place! Yummy food and friendly service!!
Great shopping and jewelry!!
We visited every morning!! Food was EXCELLENT
Absolutely fantastic food
I came in for a quick bite from the cafe while on a work trip and was so very pleased. I arrived the minute they opened and the staff was friendly and ready to serve a delicious cup of coffee and banana bread. I am not a coffee expert, but the quality of barista and bean give me confidence that Daylight Mind would please any connoisseur. Oh, and unlike some other places in the area, nothing about the location feels overly-touristy. Instead, the entire feel is intentional and picturesque. Both the upstairs and downstairs have oceanfront lanais and a breeze flows through the inside portions. More...

We had a in store catered brunch and it was amazing. The quality of the food is excellent and I would highly recommend.
This place served us the BEST breakfast/brunch we've had during our trip to Hawaii. I ordered coffee and the "Bruddah Breakfast" dish. They ran out of the taro root hash the omelet is normally made with, but they substituted potatoes instead, which was fine with me. I had some sour cream on the side with the omelet too to help provide some creaminess. The black beans were BY FAR the BEST I have ever had in my life! The preparation and seasoning for these beans were to die for. I'm stuffed from breakfast this morning and am STILL craving more of those beans. Husband ordered the "Basic Breakfast" and wound up getting extra toast because it was so good. The jam that comes with it was AMAZING. It was all so dang delicious that we may have to come back at least once more before going back to the continental U.S. Our server told us they do a stuffed French toast that's incredible, and their fruit pancakes change daily. YUM! More...
Wonderful atmosphere: casual, cozy, airy. Friendly service that gives plenty of time to peruse menu and chatting with companions. Resort pricing on the meals, not terrible but not low cost. My only problem was it wasn't my kind of food, so do ask to see a menu before being seated. More...
Great food, always great bread locally made. Many choices of coffee as well.
Great breakfast and lunch
Lovely setting with nice decor. Good food and friendly staff. Excellent coffee.
Went for dinner on 7/5 to try the Kiawe Smokehouse dishes. Service was quite good and we received a complimentary appetizer because they were trying a new recipe, however the food was disappointing. We ordered the brisket and half chicken, which weren't bad but our overall experience fell short of our expectations. Decent prices and nice setting but unable to sit outside due to possible rain. And for my bday, they gave us two very large chocolate chip cookies, which were very good. We may try again for lunch, which is a different menu. More...
Best New England clam chowder I've ever had
Friendly staff, good brunch and decent price. Superbe view
Great coffee and service
excellent food good company good service
Lunch was very nice. Fruity drinks were a bonus, these were non-alcoholic.
Breakfast, rainbows, coffee, proper pastries
Awesome spot, great selection of dining options. Hawaiian hospitality.
The atmosphere is very bright and open, with lots of natural light from open doors and windows (no glass). An abundance of ceiling fans are helping to circulate the air throughout so it doesn’t feel hot. There is a bar area and a large dining room. In the dining room there is bar-counter height tables and standard height tables. The bar-counter height tables had barstools with small wooden seats and backs, they were not very comfortable. The standard height tables had what appeared to be high end lawn type chairs with arms , I don’t mean that as a negative, they looked more comfortable than the wooden barstool I was in. The waiter brought us all water to start, drinks were served in mason jars (this place is a bit hipster, but that’s not bad). The food was very good, and priced relative to other restaurants (with a server). They have kids menus that double as coloring sheets, and there was a little shelf close by our table that had activities that kept the kids busy. I got the Moa Bettah Sandwich and I dug it. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the sourdough bread was toasted perfectly for a sandwich, to a golden color. The bacon jam was very tasty, I wish it was spread on a bit thicker. I also got a side of Portuguese sausage, very tasty but this actually seemed a little pricey as it was $5 for five coins of sausage. My wife ordered the Portuguese toast, this was awesome. It was thick bread that was sweet and a little gooey in the middle. They had both coconut and maple syrup and were willing to bring us more of either if we needed it. All of the entrees was garnished with fresh fruit, I’m a carnivore but this was a big hit with the wife. This was a pleasant experience and the food was very good. We would come back, just maybe not sit at the bar-counter height tables. More...
The best Breakfast in Hawaii!!!!!! Plus, excellent service!!!
Good food. Great views
What a view..
Delicious! Had the Kanak Attack Burger and the Puna Kine Benedict. Both were excellent, and the location can't be beat!
Food was really good but the service was a little slow.
Skeptical at first due to this looking like a tourist trap restaurant, I walked away completely satisfied. A great selection of coffee(their flat white was a perfect ratio of espresso and milk), fantastic food, big portions, decent prices. The server was friendly and the atmosphere chill. The best part, however, is the scenic view of the ocean from pretty much anywhere in the restaurant. Will definitely be back! More...

One of the most beautiful, Breathtaking places to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee with a view! Downstairs Coffee co. Restaurant, with ocean view & plenty of shopping.
Amazing ! Relaxing best customer service ! Delicious food and healthy too! Loved it! Very clean too and our the server was great!
Love the Kona Eggs Benedict! Food was very fresh and the coffee was great. Can't wait to go back next time we're in Hawaii.
This is a review for the Kiawe Smokehouse "popup" at this location.Had the to-go a couple nights to eat a nice Hawaiian style BBQ while enjoying a hotel room Hawaiian sunset over ocean view. Portions were of a good size (one meal actually fed my whole small family) and since we had the 4-way combo one night I was able to taste most of the meats. Chicken was juicy and the brisket was pretty decent. The ribs I had unfortunately were very dry and the pork was just O.K. tasting. The coffee BBQ sauce was pretty nice tasting - sweet and lumpy. The sides were fine as well, I did wish the mac & cheese had some burned crust here and there, but hey it was fine for what it was and my 6 year old daughter loved and ate quite a bit of it.Didn't have the mai-tai but I was impressed to see on the menu that they actually use two different rums to make the base, which I noticed other resorts/restaurants on the big island don't (probably to enhance the $$$ profit). Maybe someday i'll try a cocktail or two and stumble around the strip mall :-) More...
Great pancakes and loco moco. The loco moco patty was a little too well done and tough for my liking. Gravy was great and eggs cooked to perfection.
The view would have been enough. It is gorgeous! But the food was also amazing! And, fairly priced! We had the Kahlua Pig sandwich. It was enough to share! Great waitress, clean bathrooms, overall a great place. More...
Very nice relaxing atmosphere.
Finally a great place to have breakfast in the Waikolao resort area! Great food and staff. Winner!
Puna eggs bene was great! Huge portions! Coffee is strong :) kids meals are huge, big enough for an adult. The kona eggs bene was alright, the Kalua pig in it was tasteless and dry, and also my main complaint in that the poached eggs weren't runny at all. It was like a boiled egg--over cooked. but otherwise everything else that my family ordered was good. We would go again More...
Great drinks and desserts and pleasant relaxed vibe
It was fine
Love this place... visited daily on our 7-day stay... service was fantastic every time, no matter who was the server... everything was delicious, from loco moco to pancakes... great coffee too.
Great place to grab brunch. Lots of local fare with locally sourced ingredients.
Great coffee.. nice relaxed place for your morning breakfast
Great food!!! Great service and amazing people.
Great place to walk to. Amazing pastries breads and coffee. Staff is very friendly.
Nice little roasting store with awesome view of ocean

Great place to just sit and take in the sights and sounds or to do homework or work in a peaceful setting. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Gus loves it too.
We were on the island for 9 days. Stumbled across this place on our 4th night. From the outside saw a very simple but intriguing menu. We decided to give it a shot.Remember it's only day 4...We had the prawns for our appetizers. A hot steaming bowl cake out. The steam and the smell of the fresh seafood and garlic immediately filled our nostrils. There I front of us you could see an ample portion of prawns mixed with tomatoes, garlic, and seasonings. The true jewel of the dish was wine broth that was hiding underneath. All the flavors came together, the acidity of the wine along with the charge of the garlic beat complimented the shellfish. We could have drank it with a straw! I went with the catch plate. At the last minute I added the steak option to go with it. I had the butter poached preparation, the BIG piece of Ono was light and flakey cooked perfectly. Remember that steak I added. Well that was a life changer. I've have had steak from a number of prominent steak houses around the U.S. this put them to shame. More...
What a view to go along with great food!
Awesome food and service!!
We had brunch here and it’s near shopping areas. Open area right by patio was lovely
What We Ordered(Mains come with 2 sides)* Mains*- Baby Back Ribs - Pulled Pork- Grilled Ahi*Sides*- Asian Slaw - Seasonal Vegetables- German Potato Salas- Mac and CheeseWe were all wowed by the place. Although a lot of things on the menu were already sold out by the end of the day, our meal was still delicious. The baby back ribs were fall off the bone. The grilled ahi was extremely fresh. I felt that the pulled pork needed more sauce on the side (I enjoyed the guava bbq sauce) but, my sister enjoyed it as is. All the sides were delicious but, our favorite was actually the pickled vegetables they give on the plate. Who knew a pickled green bean could be that good?! Also, very surprised the mac and cheese was really cheesy. Most places get it wrong. Service was lovely. Waters were refilled. Definitely going back to try their brunch! Cons: No AC. Luckily we were seated under one of their many ceiling fans. More...
I ate the avocado smash and while it was good it was not great. The avocados were a bit runny and cold. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the great avocados I've eaten in California. Delicious food, great service, and a lovely space conveniently located near a lot of resorts and public access beaches. We were at 3:30 on a Wednesday and the place was empty (probably not the case at lunch or dinner time). Very tasty coconut pancakes but I wish there was an option for only one or two pancakes with an egg and bacon. You have to commit to the pancakes and then order extras on the side which was too much food for me. The homemade mocha was delicious!

Great place to get a light lunch
We went here twice during our stay on the big island. Food was great and the service very friendly. Most of us got either the pulled pork or beef brisket sandwich. Love the coffee barbeque sauce, but the pulled pork was tasty enough it didn't even need a sauce. We all loved the cornbread served before the meal. Sides were good too, my kids liked the Mac and cheese and I really liked the seasoned vegetables. We all liked the atmosphere as well. The only negative would be the time it took to get drinks that we ordered, but it seems to be on par with most other places here in Hawaii so can't hold it against them. More...

Open air, really good vibe. Laid back. Went for brunch and had Puna Benedict which was amazing. Husband had loco moco which he loved. Had flat white and husband had latte; both really good. Staff were nice, treated our three year old nicely and got her settled with some food quickly. We didn't have reservations but they did have some people who did at about 9-10 am. Actually I was going to give it a 3.5 but that's not an option. Food wise, 50% okay 50% good, friendly service, but the portion was way smaller than what I expected. Ribs need a lot more improvement.

Service is okay. Food is okay. Timing is okay. To sum up this place is okay. It is basically the only place to eat breakfast in the area if you don't wanna be at the hotel. I really did enjoy the potatoes.
Great food and service. Tried the avocado smash and pancakes. They were amazing. Their smoothies are great. Totally coming back for brunch.
Delicious lunch and supremely helpful staff. In addition to our food and beverage needs, the hostess recommended a splendid salon for my wife to visit. Just really great people.

They were out of a lot of food and drink items. Service was sketchy but the food was good and the sunset view was priceless.

Absolutely amazing!!! Food is so fresh, service is unbelievable :) They were able to accommodate my food sensitivities and their prices were so reasonable I ordered a tea and smoothie with breakfast :) Manager was incredible and remembered us when we came back the next time!
Great breakfast/brunch place, fresh food, nice selection, consistently good service. Love their smoothies too.
Excellent restaurant and food. Highest quality. I always ask for Gina. Excellent waitress with a wonderful personality. This is my favorite coffee and breakfast cafe on the Big Island.
If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The food is delicious, but the service is even better! The manager greeted us each day and offered to hold my baby so I could eat! They were so kind and the food was so delicious that we went there three times in five days. Best of all- they are actually affordable! Try the pork Benedict- you won't be disappointed! More...
One more thing... PATIENCE is required! Don't go if in a hurry! They are on 'island time!'On our second visit, the wait for both a table (even though they had empty tables -- was told they were reserved for parties that I never saw arrive)... and our food arrived after 40 minutes... still was tasty, but management need to tighten up their process More...
So far on our trip we have been to daylight twice. It's definitely an upgrade from anything at the resort we are at.Coffee is good and price is reasonable. We have enjoyed several of the entrees as well. Can't go wrong with the Niu pancakes or the Portuguese toast both are sweet and savory. My favorite is the coconut syrup they give you. It's amazing and can't seem to get enough of it.I did get the avocado smash toast one day and I'll say it wasn't the best the toast was very hard. Had trouble cutting it with the knife. Might have just been an off day for it though.Service has always been top notch and friendly.Overall, one of the best breakfast/brunch spots near the resorts. More...

Come before 5pm and you will be ordering from Daylight Mind's brunch menu (different after 5 which becomes Kiawe Smokehouse). We ordered the Niu pancakes and plate breakfast. Both come with delicious coconut syrup, pineapple butter and this other sweet butter. Both taste great, but if you want something more than just pancakes then I would recommend the plate breakfast as it comes with rice, potatoes, eggs, avocado, etc whereas the Niu pancakes were just pancakes. Order some sides if you want more, but I think the worth it meal was the plate breakfast. Don't forget to reserve a table, but most people including my family walked in and the average wait was 10 mins on a Thursday before noon. More...
Stopped at the Kings Village on our way north. Nice place to stop for breakfast or brunch. Food was average but the service and friendliness of the folks were great fun to talk to.
This cute restaurant has great breakfast good with a beautiful little outdoor seating area. The coffee was great as well. I recommend the macadamia nut milk for some great flavor if getting a latte or adding something to your coffee.
We accidentally found this gem and are so happy we did! After the delicious smoked marlin dip and homemade taro chips, my date and I both ordered combo plates. Each includes 2 meats and side, so we were able to taste the pastrami, coffee rubbed brisket, smoked marlin and tempura fish. Everything was delicious! Rachel was a wealth of knowledge about the food, its history and the island. This place is a hidden gem!! More...
Magical. Ocean side, bright, with some great choices in food. Makes sure you grab a table near the water (go up to the loft if you have to). Taste and price was alright for portion size, but fruit salad wasn’t ultra fresh. Still, amazing vibes and great service. A wonderful place to relax and socialize. There’s parking underground just beside the complex. More...
The staff here are very friendly and quite passionate about their coffee, which is something I love in a coffee company. Aside from having decaf espresso, which is something not everyone carries, they also have a product called "bespoke" coffee in various varieties. It is a process of making coffee that they are very knowledgeable about - I'll let them tell you about it, it's really interesting to hear!Be sure to go up to the second floor - the view is fabulous!Do be advised - they are often busy and it can take a few minutes to get your coffee. They are worth the wait, though, and great to talk to. More...

My Husband and I ate a lot of food on our 1 week honeymoon here and this was absolutely our favorite place. We came back three times. Each time the food was delicious and the staff and owner were nothing but prompt and friendly. A little pricey but it's totally worth it, especially for the view. Plus if you go during happy hour their menu is definitely affordable. If I lived in Hawaii I would seriously come here every single day. More...
Great service, great coffee, great atmosphere and view. They roast their own coffee here and are generous with coffee fixings/condiments. They also offer a unique set of fancy lattes. Some drinks come with free refills, allowing you to really take in the atmosphere if you're looking to just relax. Also they offer yoga. More...
I'm a coffee snob. When I'm home, I roast my own beans and one of the things I was really looking forward to on the big island was visiting coffee farms and finding an amazing coffee shop. My pre-trip research turned up lots of coffee people talking about Daylight Mind. After starting my day here every morning for a week, I must agree that this place is phenomenal. Our first day, Kaylen (spelling?) Gave us an intro to some of the local beans with several perfectly done pourovers. We discussed some of the farms we were considering visiting and got great local advice from her on which ones to prioritize and other great things to see in the area. We came back here on a Tuesday night for happy hour (it's not just the coffee that's great--the pineapple cider and the BBQ are amazing too!) and also had great service and more great advice from Brynna. We met the manager that evening and she did a great job answering my geeky questions about the beans and the roasting process and just coffee in general on the island. I can't imagine why anybody would go to the Starbucks a few doors down--Sbux is the McDonald's of coffee and Daylight Mind is more like a Michelin starred steakhouse. Don't miss this place! More...
What a wonderful place! Fresh food, very friendly staff. A common place for breakfast for us this trip!
Love this place. Breakfast, lunch, coffee, snacks. All top-notch. The Dirty Chai with 100% Kona and the MAC-Nut milk is excellent!!
Excellent for brunch, coffee is exceptional!
I wanted to have lunch with a friend from the mainland but due to a previous meeting I had to make a late lunch reservation. I was told that lunch was over at 2:45pm so I made our reservation for 2:30pm hoping that we could squeeze in a lunch before they closed the kitchen. When I arrived my friend was there but lunch was no longer being served. Happy hour service was going to start at 3pm so my friend and I chatted for 30 minutes until we could order food. When a server came to take our orders I asked if there was any chance that I could order a cheese burger. The server asked the chef and they agreed to make us 2 of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Thanks so much for allowing us to get lunch after the kitchen had changed over to Happy Hour. Big Love!Kirk More...
We have decided that we should have eaten all of our meals here while staying in Waikoloa! Awesome breakfasts! Smokehouse delights for dinner. Full bar. Creative menus. We love this place and will sorely miss it when we have to fly home. More...
Delicious breakfast stop outside the hotel we are staying at, the hilton. Pricey for the amount but friendly environment and nice customer service. Our server forgot a plate of pancakes but made up for it by bringing dessert on the house. The coffee is delicious but got cold quick with the fans blowing and the cold cup. The breakfast tacos looked good but picky eaters left them behind. The loco moco was a hit as that's a local fav. Would come back on our next trip to the big island! More...
Great place. Good atmosphere.
Really awesome food! Cool decor! And really nice and friendly staff! The wait wasn't that long and the noise levels are just right. We didn't get to soak everything in so we'll be back for another dine in to really understand the place. More...
amazing food and drinks, well worth the money
The wait staff is right there to assist you and the apps are delicious! Great place for breakfast and happy hour. So nice to find waiters that care about the customer. They answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. The Kona location is just as fab but with a view. More...
We found this restaurant after leaving our hotel and decided we didn't want the buffet breakfast and opted for a more traditional breakfast. I ordered the avodado mash which was very good and fresh with a squeeze of lemon on the avocado and thick crusty bread topped with a poached egg. It was just enough food to fill me up. My husband ordered the puna Benedict with Portuguese sausage and that was also delicious. We both had coffee and waters. We opted for the house coffee which was pretty good. The service was not very attentive and that's really the only reason for the 4 star because we had to ask a few times for refills, but the food was really fresh and delicious. More...
This is a great place to hang loose with friends. Great food , drinks, and service. Friendly staff and nice access to a very nice mall
Loved my Ahi tacos was delicious. Edamame’s with garlic was yummy . Excellent service, we enjoyed our dinner.
We ended up here after taking a long hike to a beach. We really needed some late in the day fuel and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere was very laid back and our hostess was very polite and helpful. The house made drinks were delicious and they had a pretty good selection of unique brews. The food itself was wonderful and the kitchen was very accommodating with our food. We would definitely recommend this place and will be back again ourselves! More...
Seriously, now we're really going to get picky, but to get five stars, they would have to make the Kona coffee refillable! Otherwise, this was so delicious. I will say, a little heavy-handed on the herbs for the frittata. And they should toast the bread on the puna kine Benedict. But, those are incredibly small things. Otherwise the food was incredible. More...
I got the Kona kine Benedict, my sister got the Puna kine Benedict. The food was amazing, everything had a clean flavor to it. I usually feel heavy after eating eggs Benedict, however I left feeling pretty good. Portions were perfect. I'm wearing tight-ish clothing & was afraid of being bloated after, however that was no problem. I finished the whole dish. It wasn't too much, nor was it too little. I'm overly satisfied. The ambience is very laxed, yet still energizing. Has a very comfortable vibe to it. Workers are very nice. We had Gina. She's great, gave some drink recommendations, checked up on us. It's right next to the parking lot so it's pretty accessible. Will be coming back next time I'm in Kona. More...
Enjoyed great service and decent food and coffee. Got the chicken sandwich and poke bowl. Both were decent and filling. I really enjoyed the green smoothie $9 because it was not too sweet and all natural. Im glad they use paper straws
Really enjoyed the Loco Moco for breakfast. Have yourself a cocktail and get the day started right. Great atmosphere and reasonable prices for the area. Everyone on the staff was friendly. We will be back! More...
Great tasting food. Very friendly staff. Good coffee.
I had french toast. It was light and not too sweet, just the way I like it! My mom had pancake and she liked it too. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. Minus 1 star for not friendly hostess. More...
What a delicious surprise. They have just opened a new dinner menu featuring a wide variety of in- house smoked meats, Fish, and a few vegetarian items. Friendly service, very reasonable prices, fresh local flavors, and an unbeatable waterfront view.Don't forget to try the pepper water!I only wish we had enough time to go back. Thanks for a memorable, relaxing dinner after a hard day of play. We decided to come here, rather than going to the buffet at our hotel; best decision we’ve made so far. Food was amazing and service was great. The “Sam Breakfast” was incredible. Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. I would recommend this Restaurant to anyone visiting, looking for an amazing breakfast for the morning. Five stars, no doubt. More...

Hands down the best breakfast around Kona! Farm to table fresh..everything taste great including the espresso, atmosphere is so chill and the is food reasonably priced. Like any real farm to table restaurant get there early as somethings run out. Go once and you will be back everyday! Enjoy.. you are welcome! More...
I came here Thanksgiving morning for a nice breakfast at the Queens' Shops in Waikoloa. I am so happy to have stumbled upon Daylight Mind. We did not make reservations ahead of time and the restaurant was pretty busy, so we had to wait around half and hour or less for our table which was fine, because we had some time to look around the shops. Once our table was ready, we were greeted by our friendly waitress. I ordered the Breakfast Plate, because it seemed like the most worth it dish to get on the menu (it was). It came with two eggs any style, a bit of spinach, avo smash, fruit, rice, and toast. I loved the variety of different foods to try from by getting the plate. The avo smash was just like a guacamole, it was really good! I even smeared some on the toast. The waitress also gave me a side of their strawberry jam to try and it was to die for. It had the perfect sweetness to it. I also tried a bite of the blueberry scone. It was delicious. It had a nice buttery flavor that mixed well with the sweetness of the blueberries. I loved the ambience of Daylight and everything about it was amazing!! More...
Wonderful atmosphere and great food!
Amazing service and wonderful food!!
This place is a HIDDEN JEM. We had dinner last night at Roy's and it was "good" but this place was amazing, and I personally think better than a lot of the other local places. We'll definitely be back for brunch! More...
Don't listen to the bad reviews! It's just a bunch of snobby tourists lol The food and coffee here are excellent, and waiter (his name was Conner) gave us the best service we've had at any place. You need to check this place out!
Great breakfast, great coffee, cinnamon espresso bun is the best and great service!!!
Lunch time favorite! The menu is short but sweet but the food is onolicious! The staff was great and the place was clean and quiet. I forgot what we had on the menu but we devoured it! They serve coffee and have a bar as well. They have outdoor and indoor seating. We would definitely come again when we're in town and we had our friends try it out as well. More...
We finally hit this place for breakfast our final day in the Waikoloa Village resort area, and so glad we did! This was one of the tastiest and most reasonably priced meals we had in this area (west coast of the big island). Ordering from the brunch menu, I had the avocado toast with a scrambled egg, and my husband had the omelette with all veggies rather than meat. The avocado toast could have benefited from another slice of toast since there was so much guac. The pancakes were the best item on the entire plate, light and fluffy served with both maple syrup and coconut syrup. I personally LOVED the coconut syrup; my husband said it reminded him of his grandma's coconut cake.We both ordered from the coffee menu. He had the Kona coffee (had some other name on the menu) and I had a flat white. Both were fine; nothing special.Arrive early if you don't have a reservation. They open at 7am. Our east coast body clocks have had us up for the day around 3-4am each day here so we arrived shortly after open (within 15-20 mins) and they already had about 3-4 tables of people seated. We were able to be seated right away without a reservation. By the time we wrapped up our meal around 8am, they were placing people without reservations on the waiting list. All said and done, our meal was about the price of feeding just I've us for breakfast inside our resort. Overall, I'd give this place a 4.5. Rounding up, they are a 5 star experience. More...
I went for brunch and had the Sam's breakfast. I ordered the omelet the mushroom and tomato and it was filled with both. The mushrooms were just right and the pancakes were large and light, The coconut syrup was more coconut than syrup but I liked it. The food is cooked to order so it's not fast but worth the wait. I would definitely go again. More...
Great food, fantastic service. Must stop, especially if seeing a movie nearby.
Most excellent place to grab a bite to eat. The avocodo smash is a supreme delight. Can't recomment this place high enough for service and quality of food. If you get a chance, grab a seat on Conner's section, he has very good recommendations!! More...
The Puna Kine Benedict was exceptional. Fresh flavors of the avocado smash, tomato and spinach with a perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise.Delicious!
Wonderful place to eat. Connor was our server and was very friendly and extremely helpful with tips on things to do. My wife and I had a great brunch. Reasonably priced, I know there's much more expensive places. Coffee was very good and the view outside was beautiful. I would recommend this place to everyone for breakfast. Not a massive breakfast menu but some good options to chose from.We will be going back for a happy hour and to eat dinner. Thanks again to Conor our server, always nice to meet people as friendly and helpful as him when your visiting a new place. I'm hesitant to use 5 stars because there's always room for improvement but this place is very good. More...

I came twice during my stay on the Big Island -- once for coffee and once for breakfast. I had a great experience both times. The coffee shop is conveniently located in the Queen's Marketplace and near a number of big hotels, townhouses, and timeshares. We stayed at the Marriott, which was just a couple of blocks down. I first came in in the afternoon for some iced tea and a green smoothie for the hubby. We were seated in the cafe (non-dining) area of the restaurant, where we sat down and made use of the WiFi as we pulled out our laptops. The drinks were good - nothing particularly special - and the servers were friendly. I immediately loved the pleasantly casual and quiet environment. I especially appreciated that they have a defined cafe area and a restaurant dining area.As for breakfast, we got the Saimin (noodles) and Moa Bettah Sandwich (chicken). They were both great, but the sandwich deserves its own applause. My husband really liked the tender chicken, and the portion was massive. Well done!I will note that while they don't have AC, they do have ceiling fans. So if you're coming in hot, don't worry. You'll eventually cool down.Parking is abundant in the marketplace, and restrooms are very clean. More...
Angel, I can't tell you how appreciative I've been of you making my coffee in the morning so many times. You are skilled like no other in latte craftsmanship, and you always had a genuine smile on your face before the sun even came up. Please thank your bosses for selecting high-grade, mostly island-sourced espresso beans, but suggest they add just a little more flavor to the mashed avo and poached eggs breakfast thingy...and give you a raise. 200th review, so I had to celebrate with a trip to Hawaii! We are staying nearby at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, but decided to venture out in search of less expensive breakfast fare. We ventured out to the Queen's Marketplace after getting a recommendation from the imu tender at the Luau to try some of the local (and not necessarily Kona) coffee. We came into Daylight Mind for a cup, and ended up having breakfast. Amazing Portuguese French Toast, with some great haupia (coconut based) syrup. Delish! We were satisfied with this, but on top of that, the extremely friendly (and genuine) staff brought us some cookies that were destined for a tour group that cancelled, gratis. How nice is that?We chatted with the hostess and ended up buying some amazing macadamia nut bread to go. Almost left it out, but the cold brew? Top notch! If you're in the area, hit this place up. Cliche as it may sound, they really did represent the aloha spirit and made these howlies feel like family. Seriously great. More...

Expect a relaxed atmosphere and staff. However they are super nice and help put you in that laid back Hawaiian mode. Coffee is great and the food is good too. Love this place
Without fail this place comes thru again for a wonderful breakfast. Felicia was very attentive and had a great attitude! Thank you for making our experience a great one! The portegese sausage is amazing is perfect. The potatoe side is really good... they must have changed since some of the other reviews on here. Very crunchy and perfectly seasoned. I think the mocha might have been the best coffee I've had in a long time.. I could just drink these everyday... Also really enjoyed the local hot sauce "spicy ninja"!! 3 different kinds .. all very unique and special. Goes perfect with the mushrooms potatoes and avo smash More...

Fabulous place went there for breakfast and kept coming back for their excellent coffee. Great atmosphere, great service, delicious food and even better coffee. I'm so sad I can't go back.
Such a fun breakfast spot! We just arrived and are so glad we found Daylight. The food was excellent - large portions and delicious flavors. The coffee was also excellent! I got a cappuccino and my husband got the cold brew, which we definitely recommend! We didn't try a pastry, but will be back for them. On top of it, the service was excellent. Conor was our waiter and took the time to make personalized recommendations on the menu and ask about us. He even went so far as to provide us with his favorite beaches and snorkel sites, which was so helpful since this is our first day on the island! We will definitely be coming back! More...

One of our favorite breakfast locations! Great staff & they are always striving to improve or accommodate. Awesome breakfast this morning!
Great breakfast/brunch spot in Waikoloa. Relaxed open air environment definitely doesn't feel like it is in a shopping center. Definitely loved their egg dishes especially the eggs Benedict with avocado and fruit salad. We will be back! More...

Every time we visit Waikoloa side, this is where we spend our mornings...every one of them. The coffees are on point, which is actually surprisingly rare for a place known for their coffee. The Puna Kine Benedict is my favorite but I have never had anything on the menu that wasn't delicious. The staff is always pleasant and smiling, especially Conor, who is usually the one taking care of us. The ambiance is great with open air dining and convenient parking in the shopping center with easy walk up as it's on the entrance corner. Highly recommend! More...
My husband and I were looking for a good restaurant that had fine food for dinner. (What I meant by fine is not hamburgers, pizza, pasta, etc) We looked at the menu and decided to give it a try. Wow!! NO regrets at all! Food was fantastic! Very- very GOOD! At least what we ordered. I had the catch of the day and my husband had the rib-eye local steak. The catch of the day was delicious as well as the steak. Selena our waitress is really nice and gave a great service. She even gave a full box of free pastries to go. I supposed they were going to throw them away since they offer fresh every day. For dessert we had this chocolate ball, I thought it was like a type of soufflé with some cake in it, instead it was very creamy and rich chocolate. Not soft creamy. Inside the dessert, It had another ball that tasted and looked like marzipan, around it was very nutty and than the think layer of rich chocolate. I wasn't to impress with the dessert. One for fours is good enough because if the richness of it. I took pictures of the dessert from in and out for a better detail of how it looks. Anyway, I highly recommend this place for dinner, the ambience was relaxing, good for talking since it wasn't loud that night, nice live music. The guy that plays the guitar and sings is really good and signs great soft songs. More...
From the brunch menu we ordered the Puna Kine Benedict. Fresh spinach, tomato, avo smash, poached eggs, Hollandaise; rice or potatoes $16. It was fantastic. Large amount of avocado drenched in citrus. Perfectly poached eggs on thick wheat toast. I had the fried potatoes and my wife had fresh fruit. Our server, Coner, is from the area and was very friendly and helpful. Recommend. More...
Just stopped in for the best breakfast of our stay thus far. Ample portions of great (not resort style) REAL food! I had the Puna Kine Eggs Benedict with a side of pulled pork. Perfectly prepared poached eggs and veggies. My husband enjoyed the SAM pancake (huge but fluffy) with bacon and coconut-a perfect combination!! Our server, Puna was gracious and helpful in helping us decide on a wonderful breakfast. So.... if you tire of the high cost and ordinary resort breakfasts, try the Daylight Mind Coffee Company.. you won't leave disappointed!! More...
I haven't tried the food yet, but if you need an iced latte on a hot summers day, this is the spot. The interior is spacious, so it makes a nice place to relax out of the sun
Great service and good food thats not to far from the over priced breakfasts at the resorts.
Ka'u Cheeseburger was onolicious as well as the salad it came with. The breeze blowing through the restaurant was very refreshing while it was very warm outside.
Best loco moco anywhere, made with boneless short ribs. Amazing people, especially Ashley. Great coffee. Four us went to breakfast and wanted to try everything on the menu. We will definitely go back as often as we can during our stay on Big Island. More...
Food was fresh and delicious. Server Raymond was exceptional. The entire staff and vibe were all 5 stars. Highly recommend
This place was great for dinner in the Waikoloa area. Great menu and service was great except for one thing. The surf and turf came out with fish and steak when the person who ordered expected shrimp. Apparently depending on the day it is one or the other and it was not confirmed at time of ordering. She questioned it and the waiter didn't make any effort to replace it or make sure she was happy with her order. My Cioppino was excellent and the chowder and Portugese bean soup awesome. Bread was lacking a little something but overall a great enjoyable meal! I would def come back for breakfast or lunch More...
Good good food. Great service and nice atmosphere. Initially I was expecting this to be over priced and foo foo. But it was really good. The pancakes are huge. The Kona coffee is tasty. I think 3 of us got the basic breakfast. Lots of food and very tasty. Reasonable price - for Hawaii. More...

An absolute must !! Excellent food and even better service! Two thumbs up from us ❤️
Best Chai Tea Latte I’ve ever had, great Green & Gold Smoothie and Herbed Chicken Salad! Have been here about 5 times this week!
Great location and relaxed island atmosphere. Gets a little too warm during the day. We loved the toast here and island breakfast! Not a far drive/walk from surrounding hotels. We came here early morning and didn’t need a reservation. Staff was friendly, explained all the items well, and service was quick. Great spot for breakfast and lunch. Nice, laid-back atmosphere, good service, and quality food and coffee
Very nice modern, hipster-y place. Food and drink is good quality and service is good. Their fresh bread and scones are very good and the coffee was excellent. I tried the avocado toast. It was different and I've had better but it was alright. It was more like guacamole toast than avocado toast. But the egg was perfectly poached and the toast was really good. My husband liked his sandwich. The savory scones were delicious and the blueberry muffin was good too. More...

Service was very good, and the place is clean and tidy. More...
This was a great little spot to eat if you want something off the tourist path. Exceptional food.
This quaint cafe was a perfect spot to enjoy a fancy coffee and delicious breakfast! The folding doors that open onto an outdoor patio are fantastic!
Casual cafe style restaurant with great menu items. Warning: just about everything has coffee as an ingredient in one form or another, so you might find yourself up all night organizing the pantry if you're not careful.
I recommend the Chopino.
Great food and service close to where we were staying. Hoping to retire to the Big Island in the not too distant future and will definitely be back!!
My wife and I were tired of paying for overpriced resort food that wasn't that amazing. We stopped here for breakfast just before heading out on a day long adventure. Wow! It was fantastic. Vibe was totally laid back but the food was NOT. Everything was fantastic. I had the short rib with sunny side up eggs over rice. Rustic, filling, and delicious. My wife had a Benedict Dish with avocado mash. She loved hers. We loved the vibe and food so much we stopped for an early dinner as we arrived back later that day. They weren't serving dinner yet but had a happy hour food menu that was a great deal and spectacular. We feasted on appetizers, delicious fish tacos, and great cocktails. Bartender Scott was a great conversationalist and a lot of fun. We will be back before we leave town. More...
Best cup of coffee I ever had! The food was amazing, can't stress that enough, de-freakin-licious! Highly recommended to all!
Amazing amazing breakfast..!! Love the huge place with enough space between tables. Very tasty avacado toast and Coconut and Macademia Nut Pancakes. Nice and helpful staff
Love the breezy, beach feel of this spot. Went for breakfast. Good, friendly service. They have good coffee. Had the benedict with avocado, tomato and spinach. Hollandaise had good flavor but because the spinach and avocado were cold the whole plate ate cold (including the eggs). Good spot to stop before shopping! More...

Ashley is simply amazing! Order the Niu Pancakes. These pancakes will divide your family because you will not want to share any of it! Kid friendly, located in Queens Village, reasonably priced, an everyday go to while on vacation. More...
I am so glad I found this place! I was staying at the Hilton Waikoloa Village resort and was NOT OK to pay $37 for their only breakfast option. Luckily, daylight is located nearby in Queen's Marketplace and just a short drive (or walk) away. Contrary to other review places and a general google search, you actually don't need a reservation during off peak hours (I don't think you absolutely need a reservation during peak hours, but it could definitely help speed up your wait time). FOOD: We ordered the niu pancakes and the puna kine benedict - both highly recommended dishes by our server. The niu pancakes were mouth-watering! The pancakes were so light, fluffy, and airy which is hard to find at most breakfast joints; however, the star of the show was the coconut syrup. (I like how this was presented in a container on the side so you can control how much syrup you want on your pancakes.) The syrup was very light and creamy and brings all the flavours of the pancakes and coconut/macadamia nut topping together. The puna kine benedict was also amazing - the avocado smash being the best part of the dish. I wasn't a fan of how the benedict was placed on toast instead of an english muffin; this dish felt more like avocado toast than an eggs benedict to me. If you're thinking of getting this dish, consider the avocado smash instead. You get way more avocado, and don't have to pay an extra $4 for spinach, a slice of tomato, and a small portion of potatoes (not worth it imo). SERVICE: Service was great from the moment we walked in. Our hostess rearranged some of the tables/door shutters so we could have an amazing view of the ocean, feel the cool breeze, but still be inside and out of the sun. This really helped set the atmosphere in this bright and airy place. Overall, the food here is to die for; it's actually quite difficult to find negative things to say. I'll definitely be coming back here during my stay, not only because the Hilton food is overpriced, but because the quality of this food is hard to beat! More...
As another reviewer wrote, eat here. Daylight Mind is a nice little coffee shop, bistro in the Queen's Market complex. We stopped in for lunch and the food was great, the service was polite and attentive and the prices were reasonable. If you're staying at the resort down the road, it is definitely worth the short drive or longish walk to Daylight Mind. You will be happy you did. More...

They wer short staffed but the service was faster than i expected. Food was outstanding and ws received rather quickly.
My wife and I visited here today. And I have to say they may have had the best service we have had on the island. Very attentive, quick, fast to refill drinks, etc. with that said, we arrived around 10 am so maybe it was during slower time? Anyway- we ordered the avocado smash and the basic breakfast. Both were VERY tasty and we would recommend both. Check out the pics. The avo smash was very generous on the avo and the basic breakfast was a cornucopia of flavors! More...
Great escape from the hotels- We have been here once 2 years ago and again twice in the last few days, once for dinner and once for breakfast we we were headed to the airport- Dinner recently was a nice surprise, I don't recall but I did not think they were doing dinner two years ago. Wife had the stuffed mushrooms and a burger- both were great she said- I didn't even get a chance to see the mushrooms hardly- I had the Poke appetizer- huge portion- fresh fish- very good- possibly could have been a bit spicier but still outstanding value- and then followed it up with the stew- thinking something lighter and then heavier- the Poke was so much I had to work at finishing the stew- Dessert looked great but we were stuffed so we took it to go- Breakfast was great also- Loco Moco with short ribs- who would have thought . . . Very good though- I was full still after a long flight! Service was friendly- very "Island time" but if you are in a hurry you probably need to adjust all of your thinking- sit back, relax and have their version of a Moscow Mule- very good- More...
Ate here 3 times for brunch during our stay ... loved the avocado smash. Next favorite was French toast. Delicious! Niu pancakes were yummy! Had eggs over a mix of veggies. Still delish, but not my favorite. Great start to our day! More...
Came here after a hike. Was served by Andrea and she was awesome. My girlfriend ordered soup and salad and I ordered the stew... both hit the spot.
Yummy, healthy (well... healthIER) breakfast choices and friendly staff. Cute shop. Smoothies were overpriced and underwhelming. But avo toast and hamakua eggs were both tasty and filling. More...
Great tropical cafe. It's really spacious with high ceilings, huge windows, and lots of space between tables - making it a good place to have a lunch meeting. There was great natural ventilation indoors. The gold and green smoothie was insanely good. More...
By Hawaii standards this place gets 4 stars cause 3.5 isn't an option, but elsewhere it would probably be lower. We're talking breakfast so I'm not sure on their lunch / dinner situations.Pros: Cool spot, we sat down. Breakfasts hit the spot when you need something with eggs. They had hot sauce (yeah, that's not too common over here which is bunk) and they fry up little medallions of Portuguese sausage which are surprisingly good.Cons:The coffee was on the weak third-wave side of the fence. The potatoes were withered. A More...
Great breakfast on the Big Island but really one of the best breakfast anywhere. I was watching carbs so I got the Avocado Toast without the toast. It was the best! They put some bacon down and it was phenomenal and the local hot sauce made it incredible. Kate got the pancakes and everyone was happy. And the service was friendly and helpful. What a nice place! We have been here for just a few days and this beat all of the other hotel meals hands down! Staff was friendly and the avocado toast with poached egg was delicious! Also had cold brew coffee...great flavor and not acidic at all! Picked up a few pastries to go....my family loved them! More...
Favorite meal of the trip in terms of food- both orders were delicious. We went at 7am on a Monday (time change issues so we were up and starving!) and they seated us and were able to serve the entire menu. Food came quickly and service was good. Very accommodating for kids as well. Highly recommend! More...
Having Easter Brunch, and it is fantastic. So thankful we picked this place over one of the larger buffets!!!! Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Excited to come back and experience the regular menu. More...
Loved going here. The food is really good, and their coffee is amazing. The service was great, the workers were fun to talk to and they knew how to keep the conversation interesting. I would go back 10/10
Great find for brunch! Our waiter Conor gave us great recommendations, Puna Kine Benedict and Coconut Pancakes were delicious. Overall great experience and will definitely be back. See you next time Conor! More...
Great coffee, great food. Coffee is fresh and delicious. Food is fresh and delicious. We loved their soup, salad, pasta, fish, burgers. The kids' meals are great quality and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is relaxing, with lots of fresh air coming in the open doors and windows. Staff is friendly and eager to please, but not always attentive. Only negative is they run out of some menu selections if
