We hired Josef to DJ my son's Bar Mitzvah without knowing much about him or having seen him in action. He met with us and my son, was incredibly patient and eager to help in any way and simply wanted to put me at ease. He responded so nicely to my son's questions and play list ideas. DJ Josef is absolutely wonderful!!! Not only is he great at selecting the right music, he knows how to work a crowd and makes a fantastic emcee! He also gave us references for a violinist and photographer when we asked, AND he also went out of his way to pick up a generator for our wedding ceremony on the beach. When everyone left, he stayed to play us another song so that my husband and I could dance alone. He really treats you like family. He is so charismatic and professional! The DJ we had booked for my son's engagement party (a friend of my son's) said he was traveling the day of the party and was concerned he might be delayed and that we should make a Plan B "just in case. " I reached out to Josef on Friday, Dec 24th and he accepted the job for the following Wednesday evening. Well, Josef should have been our Plan A! He was GREAT! He played a bunch of the music from the play list I provided just two short days before the party, including a lot of music he didn't have previously. The music wasn't overly loud (perfect for our venue), and he brought just enough lights for our simple party to add to the festivities. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
It is no secret.
1. We consult with the client about their musical tastes, as well as that of the guest.
2. We watch the guests, responding and adjusting the music to the vibe on the dance floor.
3. We take requests from the guests.
4. We get to know guests by creating casual, yet meaningful conversation.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
While I do have a personal style, I fine-tune it to match the style that best fits the client.
I've been told that I'm as cool as Frank Sinatra, yet as funny as Jerry Seinfeld. I don't know if it's good or bad...it just works for me.
What do you love most about your job?
The smiles at the end of the party, the once in a lifetime occasions, the Father of the Bride speeches, the ever surprising clientele, the great food and wonderful locations.
I really love creating a memorable experience for my clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had been DJing for years, but I had not thought of it as a business until an opportunity presented itself.
I created a network of event professionals with whom to exchange ideas, farm talent and elevate the art of DJ/MCing to the next level.
Why should our clients choose you?
In any city, there are hundreds of DJs from which to choose. The idea is to choose a professional with whom you connect, trust and enjoy their company.
I create an environment in which the client can create their own vision and trust that their celebration will be handled with the utmost respect.
If I could give just one piece of advice to any potential client considering a "cheaper" DJ, it would be to make them show you a contract.
