Danielle is extremely talented. She has that photographic eye that is super rare to find, especially with capturing natural, outdoor beauty. She was our photographer for our engagement shoot at Smith Rock and wedding ceremony in Sunriver. All of our photos are stunning (the hardest part is going to be choosing which ones to frame!). Danielle was quick and responsive via email, as well as offered to meet with us in-person initially to discuss how her work could dovetail with our vision. We were lucky to work with Danielle over 2 days for our wedding weekend where she captured both our western and Indian wedding ceremonies at Nestldown and Fairmont San Jose. Danielle knows Nestldown intimately well and our pictures reflect that. She knew where to find the best lighting, the best angles, and the best poses. We could not be happier!

On the following day at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Jose, Danielle captured the Baraat, and the ceremony, and kindly stayed some extra time to get large family portraits of our families.

Danielle made us feel comfortable from our first interaction over the phone and was also very responsive via email in the weeks leading up with the big weekend. She gets the pictures you want and the ones you didn't know you wanted! And of course, the pictures turned out stunning. We love them so much we still look at them almost daily after 2 months...

We had two weddings over two days both of which Danielle did the photography for. I see many reviews here are about Nestldown which was where we had our western wedding. We recently had family photos taken by Danielle in central Oregon. We did a mini half hour session and had our almost 2 year with us. It was cold and the babe was not having any of it but Danielle was very patient. I did not think we would get many good photos with the circumstances however I received the finished photos today and I am amazed at how wonderful they turned out!! Danielle was one of many great decisions for our wedding at Nestldown. My husband and i appreciated her even more because we are both people who hate to be the center of attention. We were immediately at ease with Danielle and constantly laughing, in our intro meeting and during our big day. We were a little worried about not knowing how to pose without an engagement session, but she knew just how to direct us without us needing to waste any time learning her cues. She was a joy to spend our day with, and the photographs are amazing. I think she managed to capture an amazing shot of nearly every guest, and we still have people gushing about the photos over a month later. Everyone says choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important pieces of planning your wedding. It was really easy for me after seeing Danielle's work and after meeting with her that she would be my first choice. She is very easy going, professional, and does not pressure you into anything.

We got married in San Rafael and Danielle came with her assistant, Brianna, who was also fantastic. They showed up right on time, calm and ready to get to work. This was another thing that I loved about Danielle was that she was so calm and relaxed and fun to be around. You don't realize how much time you spend with your photographer on your wedding day so it's important you like being around them. Again, even at our wedding venue (which she had not photographed at before), Danielle found some really cool places to shoot at. We got married in a courtyard type of setting, but we have wedding pictures from around the property that make it look like we were in a forest, at an old house, near palm trees. It's amazing how she was able to make all of the property at our venue look so beautiful, not to mention us! I don't even know were to begin. Danielle was nothing short of completely amazing. She beyond exceeded our expectations. First off we had our engagement photos, TOTALLY in love with them, then our wedding photos blew us away. Danielle was absolutely amazing! She did family photos for us (me, my husband, and our 18 month old).  Our daughter was NOT excited to be there and wouldn't exactly cooperate so my husband and I were skeptical when we left.  A couple days later we got all the photos and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY.  We couldn't believe how many great shots Danielle was able to get.  She was so patient the whole time which we really appreciated.  She was easy to communicate with leading up to our shoot, and was so quick in getting the photos back to us.  We are beyond pleased to have found her and will definitely continue to use her for many more occasions to come.  Thank you Danielle!! My husband and I hired Danielle to do our maternity shoot when I was 35 weeks pregnant.  We met at Rancho San Antonio, a place she was familiar with and would give us the organic shots we hoped for.  In advance, I had shared some photos from Pinterest to give her an idea of what I was looking for.  Danielle went above and beyond to ensure that we got some of these shots and also some that in her expertise, she thought we would appreciate.  I arrived first to the shoot and she took her time with me.  She was fluid and elicited emotion by asking me to reflect on different questions or feelings about my soon to arrive baby.  When my husband arrived, he felt hurried and still wrapped up in work so it was hard for him to settle into the session.  Danielle clearly has worked through this problem before and did well with making jokes and helping him to feel comfortable.  She captured the joy of that season of our lives beautifully and we are so grateful for the photos she produced.  She has a genuine passion for her job and it shows in her work.  She is friendly, professional, responded quickly to our inquiry and got our photos back to us in a timely manner. Danielle photographed our wedding in October 2015. Like everyone says, I think that choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important pieces of planning your wedding. It was really easy for me after seeing Danielle's work and after meeting with her that she would be my first choice. She is very easy going, professional, and like others have mentioned, does not pressure you into anything. Danielle was even better than I imagined though once we saw her in action. Our first experience with her was our engagement shoot. I was really open for a location and Danielle already knew of some spots she has photographed at before in Santa Cruz. So we went over there one evening and spent some time in a field, near a tree and then we also were going to go over to the beach to get some beach shots. On our walk out to the beach, we saw an artichoke field and decided to stop in there really quick to get some shots. I loved how she just went with the flow and the lighting and the surrounding to determine where to shoot. We got so many amazing shots in several different locations and I swear the entire shoot only took 2 hours (including the drive from the field to the beach/walking). We got married in San Rafael and Danielle came with her assistant, Brianna, who was also fantastic. They showed up right on time, calm and ready to get to work. We are so very thankful we had the opportunity to work with Danielle for our wedding in May! I had researched photographers for weeks and no one seemed to even come close to her in comparison. We got married at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley and although she has never been to the venue before, you would have thought she had been there a hundred times! She called up the venue before hand to get more information about the grounds and worked with the Ranch to have someone available to drive us to the very best areas for the perfect photos. She really did her research!  She made us feel so comfortable and relaxed and worked wonderfully with my crazy family and all the busyness of the day. For a first timer in front of a professional photographer, Danielle Gillett had no problem getting me and my husband comfortable. She helped with the poses that were a little un-natural, and made them stunning photos. From the first time we met her, she was responsive and attentive to what we were looking to get from the photos of our wedding. Danielle is an amazing photographer and SO easy to work with!  We were referred to Danielle through friends who've used her for their wedding and family photos, which we loved. We met with a few different photographers but loved her photos, style and felt she would be best to work with. Since we've never taken professional photos (or had a wedding!) we wanted someone to provide us with some direction, which Danielle was great with.We did our engagement pictures a few months before the wedding in Santa Cruz and Danielle picked out some beautiful spots....everyone commented on how our photos looked like they were from a movie or fairy tale. My husband and I were shocked by how beautiful the pictures turned out and how quickly we were able to take tons of photos.On our wedding day Danielle and her assistant were great! Not surprisingly I was a little stressed about staying on schedule and making sure the wedding went as planned. Danielle kept reassuring me that we were on time and had plenty of time to get all of the shots we needed. Danielle and her assistant captured photos of every aspect of the wedding from the detail shots, to our first look, amazing ceremony photos, fun photos of friends and family etc.We received a sneak peak of our wedding pictures within days of the wedding and received online access to view all of the photos within 2 weeks of the wedding. The hardest park was picking out the best photos for the album since they were all beautiful. When we received the album and our digital copies of the photos they came in the most beautiful box, it felt like our wedding album was another wedding gift! DANIELLE IS THE BEST!Her talent is just unbelievable! My husband and I were just married at Nestldown and she did our wedding and engagement photos. We are very very happy with our photos. They are beautiful and unique. We were specifically looking for work that would highlight nature and play with special lighting and keep us looking natural yet romantic. Danielle is very very good at doing all these things. My profile picture is from her, hehe.She's also very prompt. I've heard complaints from other brides that their photographers take months and months, Danielle certainly does not take too long. She's also flexible and down to earth, but she can also get things going! Of course, we were running behind at the wedding and she was very good about making sure she didn't add to our delayed schedule.The only small comment I have is that she does not deliver digital files until after the wedding, so I did not have digital files of my engagement session for my wedding website and invitations. Danielle provides the option to buy one digital file at a time, but it's quite expensive... I would have been happy to even use a branded version of the photos to give her credit. I think the policy should be reconsidered, but it certainly isn't a deal breaker! Just wanted to make sure other brides are aware as it can change your planning for budgeting and design of website and invitations.She is very well priced considering the high caliber of her work. I used the Nestldown vendor list to find her, and I was really excited that my favorite photographer, Danielle, was NOT the most expensive at all. Danielle took our wedding photos in July 2007. We met with a few photographers but it was pretty clear she was the best. Her talent is apparent, and I also liked her very much as a person which was important to me in someone who was going to shadow me on one of the most special days. She took some great engagement photos as part of the package and we got to keep all the digital files from the wedding day. We got so many compliments on them! When I found out she was doing mini-sessions this fall for holiday photos, I jumped at the chance! We have two kids now and it was so fun to see Danielle again. We are connected on Facebook and it's been fun to watch her business prosper. We took pictures in Quiksilver Park in San Jose, a bit of a hike for us in San Carlos but it was totally worth it. Danielle is a true gem! She is extremely artistic with light and nature. Book well in advance. We were very lucky that Danielle was available for our Sunday wedding. If you have a photo site in mind, be sure to discuss it in advance to make sure light, etc. is in your favor. If you have poses in mind, don't forget to bring them up. In all the craziness of our big day, I forgot a handful of poses I wanted. My family has had the privilege of working with Danielle on 3 separate occasions over the past 2.5 years: for our pregnancy photos, our wedding, and newborn/ family photos. Danielle is both extremely talented and a kind, pleasant person to work with. My husband and I got married at Nestldown over in the Santa Cruz mountains. For anyone who has ever seen this venue, it's as beautiful as it gets- tall redwood trees, beautiful gardens and a lovely touch of rustic elegance mixed with a bit of a fairytale house and a dragon den among the trees! It was so important for the two of us to be able to find a photographer who could capture the natural beauty of our venue along with the importance of our special day and Danielle did beyond all of that! My husband and I recently got married in Santa Cruz and used Danielle as our photographer. We are not from Santa Cruz so were a bit hesitant finding vendors in that city but on our FIRST look at Danielle's website, we were hooked! Even better though was meeting her in person, instantly feeling comfortable and getting valuable advice from her. She was extemely responsive & knowledgeable throughout the whole process, even accommodating a last minute engagement photo shoot so I could use her pictures for our wedding invites. All of the preparation aside though, on the day of our wedding, I couldnt have been more thankful to have her there. They really did attend to every detail and made worrying about the photography nonexistent. We didn't meet Danielle until the day of the wedding, because we live in Florida and planned our wedding long distance. The moment I met her, I felt completely comfortable, as if I had known her a long time. She made me feel completely at ease, and I felt confident that she was getting every shot I wanted, even though I never actually gave her a list of shots that I wanted! Danielle is the perfect combination of professional and friendly. Case in point: despite an accident prior to our shoot, Danielle pulled through splendidly, without complaint, and without sacrificing the quality of her work. She also made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera lens; she talked to us and made us laugh, erasing our initial nervousness to be the subjects of the photoshoot. Our photos turned out to be brilliant...very natural, but at the same time, artistic. She captured the various emotions we felt during our wedding day, from love and happiness, to surprise and tears.
