It was pretty good. Not excellent, but good. The prices we OK. 13.99 per person on Sunday. The Mac n cheese was flavorful, although the macaroni was overcooked. Cornbread stuffing was FIRE!!! The smothered steak was juicy and seasoned well, it was my favorite. The fried chicken was decent. The fried fish was decent as well. The yams tasted like they were straight out the can. The greens were good, but a bit spicy for my taste. BBQ ribs and chicken were really good!! The sauce wasn't too sweet or spicy, and it was cooked perfect. Nice and juicy! Oxtails were small and overcooked:( The drinks were GREAT!! KOOL AID!!! Plus they had a sweet tea and lemonade!! Okay so I'm broke, so I love coming here when they open to get that $7.99 special and that fresh food. Some good ass food, it almost put me into a food coma. I was not expecting to find such delicious soul food in this part of town in South Gate. But in the day time you can get a Soul food buffet all you can eat for $7 that's unheard of. But it's legit! Fried Chicken is really good! Mac and Cheese was on point. Oxtails! Bomb! My only thing I'd change is the Greens were cooked with no meat or smoked meat so it lacked flavor. As well as the red beans.
