I have chasing their food truck numerous time. It come to a point where the lady that work the truck know what I will order when I walked up. . Finally today I get to visit their storefront. And I couldn't been happier. You're greeted when you walked thru that door. The hostesses give some of the brightest smiles.. I ordered my usual which is the chicken and red velvet waffle.. my cousin ordered the jerk wings, lobster Mac and cheese with battered shrimps and some strawberry banana pudding. I love my waffle. Crispy on the outside. And the wings was nicely seasoned with a special dry rub! I will alway be a fine of Cuzzo Food Truck but if my craving get bad and I have find them.. now I have a store front to visit anytime! More...

I am so glad that I found a new spot while in Charlotte. My friend suggested it. I remembered the location from when I first moved to NC in 1997 but clearly this was a different restaurant. It is not a huge place but enough room to sit down and eat. The women working were friendly and very helpful to me as a new customer. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese along with shrimp and grits. It didn't take long for my food to be prepared. I also ordered one of their drinks which came with the meal when I picked it up at the counter. Let's start with the lobster Mac and cheese. My goodness, it was so good. The pasta, cheese and lobster was a great combination. There was actually a lot of lobster in it. It had great flavor. The grits were how I love them and what I miss about the south, very smooth. The shrimp was sautéed and was good. There was no sauce over them but the two still complimented the other. I. LOVE. CUZZO'S.Not many smaller restaurants in Charlotte can compete with Cuzzo's, and it's all because of that lobster mac and cheese. I might switch it up and get the wings, fish, or shrimp, but it will always be paired with the lobster mac and cheese. It even heats up delicious.I would classify this place as a soul food restaurant with a twist. They even have a food truck that is around different areas of town on various days. The food is just as good off the truck. This place has a variety of wing flavors, seafood options, and brunch specialties. On Sundays, they even offer a soul food buffet (buffet only on Sundays). I have had the fried fish and shrimp with the homemade tartar sauce. The fish was a nice size and flaky while the shrimp was so flavorful. The shrimp even had a hint of sweetness in them. Lastly, I've had the Cajun and plain wings which do have a slight house seasoning. I prefer the house seasoning over the Cajun because the Cajun were overly seasoned in my opinion.Individual:Lobster Mac and Cheese - 5/5Shrimp - 3.5/5Fish - 3.5/5Wings - 3.5/5The downside for me was how far it is from my house along with the fact that I would have to pay for extra sauce. Of course I know some restaurants do this, but I love sauce so the more the better. Also the fish is usually crisper, but it seems as though possibly the steam got to it and made it a little softer. It is a little pricy because you are dealing with seafood, but it is well worth it!I 10/10 recommend if you're looking for good food from a mom and pop in Charlotte. Just finished my carry out from Cuzzo's and boy oh boy I must say it was so good. I had the lobster Mac, shrimp and jerk wing combo w/ a side of squash & zucchini. Dem shrimps was amazing!!! If you ask around for a good seafood place, this name came up from mostly everyone we asked. We tried the seafood pasta that came with shrimp and crab meat and a side of about 6 crispy shrimp. I came in at 6:30 on a Saturday and the sign said 45-60 mins wait.  I assumed that was to sit but no, no, no.  The wait time was to merely get the food once it was ordered.  Everyone said "it's worth the wait".  I ordered then ran a few errands, came back after about 50 and the food was ready in about ten minutes after I returned.  FYI - Door dash picks up from here and may be a better option.  The funny thing is the restaurant is full of tables and chairs but everyone sitting is simply waiting on their food.  Not actually eating at the tables.  To go seems to b the preferred option.My family and I ordered an assortment of food.  Non of which is worthy of mentioning once you taste the lobster Mac.  By far, this is the best thing I tasted and I'd assume it's the best thing on the entire menu.  Of you go, go for the lobster mac!! Still one of my favorite food trucks in Charlotte.  Great comfort food and customer service.In a previous review, I did have a bad experience. But hey, mistakes happen. The truck was near work again today and even though I packed my lunch, I thought some shrimp sounded good. I placed my order and was ready to pay. The young lady taking orders was then like we messed up your order last time and owe you some tenders. The fact they know their customers that well shows me great customer service. I was still in the mood for shrimp so they took care of my meal. I ordered the kids size shrimp and lobster Mac. This is a trick I learned. I never can finish a full size meal and feel stuffed if I do eat it all. They feed you well here. This meal is consistent. Still the best shrimp. Perfectly fried and seasoned served with a Cajun tarter sauce. And lobster Mac has chunks of lobster, creamy and tons of cheese. One day I will make it out to the restaurant. I am only recommending because this is a place that has become famous in Charlotte and it’s black owned. Otherwise, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Walked in, there were over 10 people waiting for food. Looked at their menu, saw the prices, laughed, put menu back, and walked out. Their prices are ridiculous. It is not a 5 star restaurant but they are charging 5 star prices. With over 10 people waiting, the wait time had to be almost an hour. Y’all trippin’ Lower your prices, your staff needs to be more efficient and professional and figure out why the hell your wait times are so long. I will not return. Good luck. More...

Finally got a chance to check this place out.I ordered the lunch special which consisted of wings, mac n cheese, and broccoli. I got the jerk flavor. I must say the wings were really big in size, but I'm not sure the jerk flavor was there. I really liked the mac n cheese. It was pretty flavorful. This place has a pretty good following from the line of people that were there. I think I'll try it again but maybe a different wing flavor. The staff were really nice and the location was nice. I have been rocking with Cuzzos since they were just a food truck who would come out to my employers business park. From the first time I ate that red velvet waffle I knew This truck was destined for greatness & eventually he moved to an actual restaurant which I was so happy to see. Customer service is always good. Food sometimes can be inconsistent on quality but when it's good it's really good! In Charlotte visiting my sister-in-law and we were getting mani/pedis together when our nail techs started talking about a place called Cuzzo's that had the best Southern food they'd ever had. They described the best lobster mac n cheese they'd ever had and if we were looking for a place with great food to check them out. So post mani/pedis we were off to Cuzzo's to indulge in the succulent food we'd heard described. Upon arrival, mid afternoon, there weren't many people in front of us and we checked out the menu. A self-proclaimed shrimp and grits connoisseur, I had to order theirs, especially since I haven't had any since I moved West. I also ordered a 1/2 pound side of the lobster mac n cheese. My sister ordered the fish shrimp and grits. I also got the Kumelon "Prickly Pear" drink. We waited like 10-15 mins for our food and then our names were called and we were served our food in to-go plates (sidenote: all of their food is packaged to-go, even if you're dining in) I'm grateful that it was piping hot when it came out and so worth the drive. I truly enjoyed the shrimp and grits, I usually turn my nose to shrimp and grits without red sauce but it was so savory and down home. They also serve it with plenty of shrimp! I have never had shrimp and grits were the grits were that seasoned, but wow these were incredible!! My sister's fish was incredible salty though, like a vat of salt was poured on it. It kinda ruined her shrimp and grits. BUT THAT LOBSTER MAC N CHEESE WAS WOW WOW WOW! They have that thang down. It was perfectly seasoned, cheesy, tender lobster. It's mouthwateringly amazing. I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life. They lived up to their "World Famous" name. Overall we really enjoyed our visit and will be back. Yummy, got to try for the first time via their food truck. Line was very long, but seemed to move quickly. Food is actually seasoned well and flavorful.  Love the fact that the shrimp is lightly battered versus the heavily, which tends to be greasy. Lobster mac was very creamy and had  an okay amount for lobster pieces. It was appropriately  priced  and we will check out the brick and mortar in the near future. For the food truck, seems like only one is preparing. May suggest someone box and the other prepare to speed this popular stop along. Will say the young lady taking orders was very personable. Hands down. Best fried shrimp in town! I try to catch their food truck whenever I can. I haven't been to their brick and mortar restaurant yet. The only time I catch Cuzzo's is lunch time and I usually don't get out of uptown for lunch. When I see the truck is coming, I email the whole office. We're fans. I haven't tried anything at the truck I disliked. Think of it as Southern food with a spicy kick. My go to is the shrimp and lobster Mac combo. The shrimp is cooked perfectly with a golden light batter and is served with a Cajun tartar sauce. The seasoning alone on the shrimp is perfect. Pair that with creamy cheesy lobster Mac and you'll be in a food coma all afternoon. And there are good size chunks of lobster in the mac. For the wings, I love the jerk sauce and you can get the tenders tossed in this as well. I think you can also get sauteed veggies. I haven't tried anything else because I love the shrimp so much.
