What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I believe many of the best pictures are obtained during candid "real" moments as opposed to those "staged" moments. Obviously you're going to want some staged photos from events such as weddings and such but my approach is to capture as many natural moments as they happen.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are you looking for? Is there a specific style you're looking for? Do you have examples of photos you've seen that you would like to share with me to give me an idea of what you're wanting to capture?
What do you love most about your job?
I love people's stories and getting to document and be a part of them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having children. When I had my babies (my first two are twins) I wanted beautiful pictures of them but we were on a tight budget and I couldn't afford to have them done so I set out to learn how to take beautiful pictures myself. I had always enjoyed photography and wanted to learn. Now I had the inspiration to make it happen.
