I signed up for Crossfit so I would have a group to workout with, and feel more motivated. The classes are enjoyable, and the staff are thorough and attentive, even if you are a beginner. I feel very accomplished when I finish a workout, and I love that I feel like I am becoming stronger when I go continuously. I have taken a friend who is an absolute beginner, and they were very patient and helped her learn the movements while still focusing on the rest of the class. More...
Awesome. Super fun with great, knowledgeable instructors
I'm completely new to crossfit or any type of heavy lifting, so it was confusing the first few classes but now I have the hang of it. The trainer and class is always extremely encouraging and crossfit spot makes me really enjoy crossfit as a newbie! The shower's under renovation so the back of the facility (changing area and walkways) are a little cramped, but nonetheless I recommend coming here for some really rigorous strength training/lifting. More...
Every single class I’ve taken is amazing! The staff is so friendly and kind. They do not make you feel unwelcome or intimated at all. I always feel I’m being pushed to do my best! They also play great music! 100% would recommend this to anyone wanting to step up those athlete game More...
I really enjoy the community at CrossFit SPOT. I joined two weeks ago and after not working out consistently for almost a year, I've been to 8 classes and that's only because I am traveling out of town for most of the second week. I feel great! The accountability and encouragement you get from the coaches are phenomenal! I would certainly recommend CrossFit SPOT to newbies who want to get fit while having fun and doing it safely, as well as to expert lifters. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace while also pushing yourself to see results:-) More...
This is one of those places that, to the newbie thinking of embarking on a serious fitness program, can give the impression of being a very intimidating place. After all, some of the fittest people I've seen spend time here. My initial impression however, after taking a week of classes and observing everyone's interactions - there isn't an ounce of ego in the entire Box. The sense of community, where the coaches and members alike motivate and congratulate each other for a never-before-done weight on a deadlift or a snatch for example, is amazing. This is a family run operation, and from the top-down, each and every member is supported (and pushed hard) in moving closer to their purpose of being there - the only competition that exists is the one between your present self and the person you're committed to becoming. Yes, it's hard. And I question going to the next class when every single part of my body is in pain. But I go, because I know that at some point(s) in the future I'm going to be faced with really some tough life obstacles. And my deciding today to show up to a class that'll push me beyond my perceived limits, will give me the confidence to push through whatever life throws at me in the future, either by my doing or by something out of my control. I'll see you at the next class... More...
Great location, amazing instructors and awesome community. Couldn’t ask for more and then they expanded! So excited to have become a menace and I see myself growing every single day.
I’ve been a crossfit member from another NYC gym and switched to the new location at 33 West End since they opened July 4th. A quick address update- the gym entrance is actually located on Freedom Place which is between Riverside Blvd and West End Ave. The classes are intense but well programmed and all the instructors have a strong passion to make sure members (new or seasoned) are doing the moves with correct form and performance. It’s a great atmosphere of socializing and working out. this new gym in NYC has plenty of sunlight and near the west side area for outdoor programming. I’ve already bought my annual membership and great to see the owner working out with us also. More...
my first crossfit experience and loving it so far. i started with the “olympic lifting for beginners” classes and benefited a lot. the regular classes are also in high quality and you get a lot of attention and help from the instructors. the coaches are really friendly and helpful. every day the workout is different and that makes things more fun. working out in a group also makes tough work more tolerable! highly recommend this location! More...
The classes are great! Working out with a group of people really motivates you and the instructors push you. The instructors are very accommodating depending on your level, which makes you feel comfortable and Welcomed.
The new location is really nice—the wall of windows brings in a lot of natural light and faces a landscaped courtyard. Other boxes in the city are in basements or on loud and hectic streets, but this box has a great environment/feeling. The coaches mostly all do a good job of trying to learn your name, and whenever I have had a question, their tips have really helped. More...
I’m new to CrossFit Spot. I’ve been going since the beginning of the month and have been seeing results with my losing weight goal. The trainers are very helpful.
Great spot The community is super welcoming, coaches are good at giving direction and making everyone in the class feel like they’re working out hard for their fitness level.Spent a week here and would gladly come back next time I’m in town. More...
I tried CrossFit Spot after moving into Manhattan, and wasn't sure how a larger box would compare to my first CrossFit gym in the suburbs. The coaches were so friendly and attentive, and they still maintain the community atmosphere of a smaller gym. I received great feedback on some of my lifts and had some great workouts! Definitely plan to go back. More...
Good gym and pleasant staff. Very convenient schedule/hours. They also do a nice job writing balanced programming for their athletes.
I've taken 5 RX classes so far and am enjoying the whole experience. The coaches are very welcoming and are genuinely invested in their clients which is always great to see. I always feel motivated to push as hard as possible when I'm there. Space is small for a crossfit gym but SO clean. Air conditioning is A+ and is a huge added bonus for a crossfit gym. I'm looking forward to working out in the new space. RX workouts are challenging but not too crazy. Haven't tried a crossfit class yet at spot but the programming looks great. More...
Great trainers for everyone from beginners to pros. Welcoming atmosphere. New facilities opening. Can’t recommend it highly enough!
Great team and experience all around. I'm a beginner to CrossFit but the team has been great at explaining exercises etc.
A fun, dynamic workout with instructors that do a really great job of making you feel welcome and ensuring you are doing exercises correctly and well!
This gym has a great sense of community. The instructors are attentive and helpful with form. Plus, the workout changes everyday so you’re never bored!
I really loved this place!!!!. I am already seeing results and I have only taken 5 classes so far. Nice space, clean, great coaches and very good and effectives WOD. I am super happy to have found CrossFit Spot because I was really needing to be pushed to reach my goals. More...
Amazing workout in a great new location. Eric was an inspiring coach that kept everyone motivated and made me feel welcome at my first class. Will definitely be returning here on a regular basis. More...
Conveniently located just a few blocks away from Columbus circle, this gym provides a great opportunity for city dwellers to stay in the heart of the city for a workout and avoid crowds of tourists at the same time. At their new space, there is everything a strength athlete of any level might need: all sorts of bars, kettlebells, dumbbells, and other toys that I have yet to try. They offer multiple classes throughout the day and have open gym hours every day of the week, which is a nice change from some of my previous gyms that had open gym only on certain days. The regulars and the coaches are approachable and willing to give an advice if asked. It is clean and spacious too! More...
The coaches are super friendly! The classes are a bit intense, but it’s a good feeling to make it through them. I like that each time I go, it’s a different circuit. Space is a bit limited. But I think they are working on this.... Overall, I’d recommend to a friend. More...
Bought a 10 pack of classes for a really good price on Groupon and I’ve really enjoyed the classes. The instructors are attentive and make sure you have proper form which is really important and don’t always find in CrossFit. I love the format- generally it’s the first 20 minutes or so working on a particular move, like a snatch, clean and jerk etc, and the second half of the class will often be a partner AMRAP workout which usually has a good mix of cardio and strength. My only dislike is that they don’t always start on time, and they don’t incorporate stretching into the workout, tho they do encourage you to stay and stretch. More...
Although this was my first Crossfit gym, I'm reviewing SPOT after I've been a member at several different CrossFit gyms in the New York area. Here are some of the benefits:1) It's a small gym with a max capacity per class of 12. This allows for more personalized training.2) The WODs have a good amount of strength training. The workouts are posted online, so see for yourself - anyone can view them. 3) Trainers are kind and knowledge.4) The juices and smoothies are amazing!!5) One of the cheapest CrossFit gyms in NYC.There are two downsides to this gym, which justify the cheaper price point:1) Since there is a max capacity, you may be locked out. However, if you know your schedule and book early, you'll never have a problem.2) There are only two showers, and the locker room is on the smaller side. I showered at home.Hope this helps! I highly recommend SPOT. More...
I've tried the 5th times now and I feel very good about it
CrossFit spot easily became a place I like to be in which is hard to say for a gym lol. The staff is super warm and friendly and the gym’s cleanliness is superb!!
In town for a month and have loved CrossFit SPOT so far - tried CrossFit classes and RX and would recommend both ✌️
After few months of thinking, i finally came to CrossFit SPOT. I was very nervous at the first two classes, but the coach and classmates were very helpful.I took a RX with Zachary. Olympic Lifting for Beginners with Julia and Crossfit with Eric, they are all good! More...
This facility is wonderful very friendly staff an the instructor is on point with the workouts .
This is my first time participating in a Crossfit program and I am very happy to say the least! I have taken a few classes with different coaches and all of them are absolutely wonderful!! Yes, they will kick your butt but they will also motivate you to keep pushing AND also correct your form to avoid injury! This to me is very important, the fact that they go around to each person in the class to make sure everyone is doing the move correctly sealed the deal for me. The atmosphere is bubbling with positive energy. The space is clean. The location is perfect. I will continue to attend classes here for as long as I am able to!!!! Thanks to everyone at CrossFit SPOT for the motivation and encouragement :) More...
At first I was hesitant to try this place out, but its such a great community of coaches who continuously motivate you. They really try to get to know you, and are open to questions at the end of each class. The RX classes are really intense but its nothing you can't do! love how open everyone is and their shakes are a plus! so delicious. More...
This was my first crossfit experience ever and its been great! The staff and instructors are very friendly and helpful and the schedules are convenient. I will definitely be purchasing monthly sessions. More...
CrossFit SPOT is an inviting and professional fitness community. The coaches and gym team are friendly and knowledgeable. RX workouts are intense but thorough and enjoyable. Other members are generally nice.
Love the knowledgeable coaches and the fun athletic atmosphere! Both the CrossFit and RX classes are a great daily workout! Highly recommend for those who WANT SOLID RESULTS! ✔️ More...
I get my butt kicked every class. Instructors are awesome
I am not a person who likes to workout, or ever works out, but CrossFit SPOT makes it easy. The coaches are incredible - they are compassionate and helpful. The facilities are perfect and it’s great for a beginner like me. I’ve completed 5 classes and I look forward to the next 5!! More...
Thanks for having me Crossfit SPOT! I had an awesome time, and felt very much like I could just jump in & be myself. Excellent coaching, over 3 days whilst I dropped in. Really appreciate the expertise & being able to get a good sweat on. All the best with your big move. Thanks again. More...
My wife and I bought a 3 session pass from Mind Body. We used them all and had a great experience. The coaches were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for a great "drop in" experience. More...
Great environment and coaches!
Love it here! All the coaches are so sweet. They motivate you. I also like how small the class is so you are still able to get that one on one experiences.
Coach was phenomenal and explaining the techniques for each exercise and how to execute.
Love it here! The coaches are extremely nice and motivating. They push you hard, but the reward is outstanding. I purchased a package from groupon. The redemption is easy and they offer classes daily to accommodate most schedules. The atmosphere is not at all intimidating. More...
Love this place. I got a 1 month membership as a gift, I am happily going into my 5th month. The environment is extremely supportive and all coaches are very focussed on your form, safety but at the same time also challenge you to your limits
Love this place! The coaches are professional and knowledgeable and the members are supporting and motivating. There is a good mix of men and women, older and younger. There is also a smoothie bar inside which is nice to swing by post-workout on your way to the office. More...
Fun boot camp classes, high intensity but flexible based on your ability and how willing you are to push yourself on that day. Motivating instructors and great energy! More...
Great space and coaches!
Love the RX classes! It's a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The small class sizes allow for hands on training and an efficient but intense workout!
I'm new to CrossFit SPOT and I'm loving it. The RX classes are really challenging, but doable. You can push yourself as much or as little as you want. The coaches I've had so far are motivating and knowledgeable. This is my second week, and already I am noticing I have more energy during the day. There's even some abdominal definition happening. All in all, it's been a great experience. More...
My experience with CrossFit SPOT has been amazing since day 1. I’m new to CrossFit so I was nervous to join but the coach and staff made me feel very welcomed. The box / facilities are new and very clean which makes it an even more enjoyable experience. Coach Billy and Coach Eric have been there every step of the way giving me direction, feedback and more importantly encouragement. I’m now always looking forward to next class! More...
Honest, legitimate team and great workouts. I’ve been to several places and this gym has been the best. 100% recommended!
An excellent and efficient workout! I was nervous to go at first because I have only been running and haven't been doing anything weight lifting related, so I was afraid I'd be extremely out of place and weak compared to others. I was very mistaken! The coaches show you the movements and you scale them to your comfort. Everyone is so nice and open creating a good judgement free environment where everyone is pushing themselves and encouraging others to do the same. I always leave feeling so accomplished and proud of what my body can do! More...
Did the 1 month unlimited Groupon. Location was convenient from work, classes offered were great! I did the RX as well as the My Beginner Spot. Great, enthusiastic knowledgeable instructors. Only complaint would be to have an instructor led cool down. More...
Amazing RX classes, incredibly motivating trainers and friendly atmosphere! You guys are awesome, I love coming to CrossFit SPOT!
I've only been attending the classes at SPOT for a few weeks now, but so far I'm loving it! I feel as if the workouts have a good variety and definitely challenge you. The gym is very clean and welcoming (some Crossfit gyms can come across as intimidating.) It's not a very big space, but the staff does a great job at utilizing what they have and not making the classes feel too crowded. The coaches are also very friendly and helpful! More...
Great place ! The coaches are so professionals and motivating! The classes are difficult and challenging in the good way . Highly recommended
I love this place. The groupon coupon helped me start for the first month at reasonable price with no commitment which really gave me time to get comfortable and make up my mind. I am very very happy with the workout I get from each class. Coaches are cool af. I push my limit every time. My biggest issue with gym has been staying motivated which is no issue at all here because of the timer and partner workout system. More...

So much personal attention, but not in a hovering way. I’ve never done the same workout and each trainer has a unique style. Really great, 100% recommend. One more thing.. I’ve been to a few CrossFit/bootcamp type places in the city and this one feels the most homey. More...
Great class to help boost your strength and cardio. The trainers are very encouraging and motivating. They do a great job helping you maximize your effort and also make the class very fun to attend. I will continue to attend.

I came to CF Spot with some lifting experience looking for challenging CrossFit classes in a welcoming environment, and I found exactly that. This is the best CrossFit gym I’ve lifted at, and I am proud to be a part of it. More...
It has only been a week, but I am already hooked. All of the instructors I’ve had so far, Danny, India, Eric, and Adam, are equally awesome and will put you to work.
I got a Groupon and decided to try the RX classes. I had a great experience overall - the instructors were all very nice and encouraging while the workouts were challenging. It's also nice that the class sizes are rather small - more personal attention and you start to see the same people again and again. The receptionists (and from that, the organization) were friendly, even giving me free water bottles the few times I had forgotten to bring me own! More...
The small gym size is a negative, but it comes with one very nice advantage... small class sizes. With smaller class sizes you can get better and more attentive coaching. The coaches know you by name because there’s at most 12 people in one class.6:30am classes can be difficult to get into as they fill up pretty fast with pre-work gym goers but for the most part it’s easy to find your way into classes if you plan.I personally have liked the smaller class sizes and more attentive coaches...They are also moving the CrossFit gym soon, to expand the space. More...
Purchased the Groupon to try this gym and have had a fantastic experience. Started with a few Rx classes and then transitioned into a mix of Crossfit and Rx. The coaching and the weightlifting for beginners classes on Sundays have definitely helped to make it a smooth transition. I have enjoyed the programing and also appreciate the warm up and mobility portion of each class. Great facilities and great staff - overall have loved this spot and plan to continue my membership. I stumbled upon crossfit SPOT through a free trial and instantly liked the gym's atmosphere. Having never done crossfit before, I was pleasantly surprised by how much much coaching you receive! The variety of classes is great - between RX (more hiit style) and your traditional cross fit classes. I quickly joined after my first class and have been loving it. Feel stronger already! More...
After 2 years of not exercising I finally decided to try out CrossFit Spot, I find the classes challenging and fun by the time you’re done your sweaty and exhausted but you feel accomplished. The trainers are great they encourage and motivate you especially when you want to give up. I enjoy going to the classes and I look forward to continuing . More...
CrossFit SPOT has been an amazing experience so far. I'm in their RX Classes, bad the workouts are intense, and challenging, which is what I'm looking for. Coach India, and ad Coach Patch are supportive, and make the workouts fun, and attentive of form, and any modifications you might need because of an injury. I'm definitely coming back time and time again More...
I have greatly enjoyed my time at CrossFit Spot. All the coaches are incredible and push you to your limit. However, they also take injuries very seriously and always have alternatives so you can fully participate in every class without exacerbating any injuries. I would highly recommend everyone take at least one class at this gym! More...
I never thought I would go in a CrossFit place but never say never! I have done only RX so far and it's been a very good experience. Quite intense but even when I am not able to complete an exercise I don't feel bad because the spirit is simply to give your best and coaches are here to help. Coaches are great. Serious place but not pretentious. Overall a positive vibe. More...

I've taken a few classes here, and it's been consistently great. Awesome coaches, great facility, and amazing workouts. Definitely recommend.

Great gym with great instructors
I started taking RX classes at CrossFit SPOT about 3 weeks ago and it's honestly the highlight of my week. Working out alone doesn't always work for me, so I decided to sign up for classes here to receive the extra push I needed to successfully work out. The coaches were very welcoming and quick to learn my name, and I like that every class has a specific agenda so that we stay on track. For someone who had never taken crossfit classes, I was a little nervous at first but everyone made me feel very welcome here and push me to reach my goals every class. More...

Very professionals coaches, clean space , very well organized classes routine. Love it!
Great workout in a clean and modern facility. Friendly people and individual attention from trainers.
Crossfit can seem intimidating for newbies... and it is! But at Crossfit Spot I found a very accessible "box", where coaches help you master crossfit (including olympic lifting ) technique in a fun, friendly environment and where all skill levels are welcome ... Spot is awesome!
Great for out of town drop in. Super clean, friendly staff, exceptional coaches. Thank you!

Love how kind and encouraging everyone is — I’m not the strongest or fastest in any class, but I always finish the workout and feel great. Facilties are clean and organized, but ladies locker room is very small so can be a bit hectic in the morning. More...
I've taken multiple RX class (really intense cardio/strength/metcon with medicine balls, TRX, kettlebells, dumbbells, battle ropes, assault bikes, etc) and they have been some of the most challenging workouts I've ever done. As a former gymnast, I love the team aspect (before the class starts you go around and introduce yourself and answer an ice breaker question) and the environment in general is really encouraging and motivating. There are always modifications so the RX class is suited for many fitness levels. The instructors stress form and safety, which is surprisingly hard to find at many gyms in the city. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a challenging, intense workout! More...
Crossfit SPOT is amazing! As someone who does various ClassPass a few times a week, this studio is one of my favorites. Full body workout, I'm sore for days following a class. Most Crossfit locations don't allow drop ins or people without membership but SPOT does! Coach India is great, her classes are super tough but she's always very clear in explaining the work outs before we get to it. They're fun too! Highly recommend this location. More...

It’s a no attitude, no intimidation and the most friendliest workout place I have ever been. From the coaches, staffs and members, everyone’s very approachable and helpful.
The place also has their nutrition bar where you can get nutritional food and drinks, snacks and even meals! I’m also a big fan of their clothing merchandise, good quality and really nice and simple designs of their shirts, jackets, tank tops, hoodies, muscle shirts, hats etc.
Overall, this place met my expectations that makes me keep coming back. Maybe a sauna or steam room could be a good addition in the future. I love you CrossFit SPOT! More...
Excellent coaches who are also some of the best athletes I've ever seen! Gym is clean, nice and filled with amenities. Joining is pretty much one of the best decisions I've made!
It is one of the best crossfit club I went to, especially because of the quality of the programs, the coaches and the equipment. Definitively the nicest crossfit club in the neighborhood.
Everyone is very welcoming, the number of person per session is limited. Coaches can provide personalized advices and support during sessions which is great!
I have always wanted to work out without using weights machines, I found what I needed at CrossFit spot. I would even say that it is the best place I have found to do sport! More...

Wish i could come and train more regular with you guys. Highly recommend anyone in the area visiting NYC to drop into Spot for an awesome session. Be sure to order yourself one of their yummy recovery protein shakes for after! Total Gains!!

We did a Drop in at Spot during our Stay in NYC. The receptionist the day before was reall nice and friendly. Showed uS. around and booked the Class for the Next day.
The Receptionist the Next day was unfriendly. Not interested in us it seemed nerved of the situation. He directly asked us to pay 40 dollars each!! For one class. No shirt included. Yes it is NYC but this is not what CrossFit is about.
The class itself was really really good. The coach was great and he put all out of the small training area, which was clean and well equipped.
We would never drop in again as it was too expensive and with the second receptionist we did not feel very welcomed. But the coach was nice, friendly and did a great job! More...
Very loving & caring experience crew this is the place to go ♀️

Good box with nice people!
Beginner Friendly, best overall in NYC.
Best CrossFit box in the city..
Very professional and a great community
Amazing awesome gym, love the atmosphere and love the community that the SPOT built.
Excellent coaches and a clean gym. Typical Crossfit programming but they also offer RX classes which are similar but include less of the weightlifting and gymnastics skills.
This was pretty good. Staff and participants were overwhelmingly chill. Had a fun, sweaty workout.
Cool spot. Regularly go to this gym. I can't say something about "cheap price", but all that inside this place is definitely worth it. I talk about great, friendly and smart staff, professional and very helpful coaches, who's chanhing programs are amazing, and also about general atmosphere of this place. Definetly deserve 5 stars. Danny was great!!Thank you so much for taking the time to coach me even though I was a drop in. Appreciate it!!
A bunch of friends and i dropped in to take what you can call a reunion wod. The coaching staff and the facilities are great. The coaches are attentive and will help you master your technique/workouts. They have different options when it comes to their classes. Up stairs they hold Rx class for conditioning, which is good for those who are looking for cardio and/or strength. The downstairs section is a small but don't let that fool you as you'll get a great workout by taking their crossfit classes. The programming incorporates high-intensity interval training, strength training, and olympic lifting movements. Yoga and mobility classes are also offered and they have their own olympic barbell club for those just looking to focus on getting stronger in olympic lifting and even compete. I know crossfit is intimidating to many but give this workout a chance and thank me later. Side notes: -This box is constantly offering group deals so take advantage. -They have a juice bar. More...
Love this gym, the people and the facilities are great. They have a lot of different class options, upstairs is the conditioning classes called "RX", which are great if you are into cardio/strength building. Downstairs is the crossfit which is similar but also incorporates weightlifting and more sophisticated stuff... they also have mobility/yoga and other classes and fun special events. try it out, it's totally worth taking a chance!! They have a great locker rooms, shower and everything is very clean and great environment for fitness + great workouts!! More...

Best equipment, Best staff, Best service over all.
I love this place. I started off quitting in the first 20 minutes of my first class, it is now 2 months later and I am never turning back. The classes are great, the coaches are awesome and care so much about you. It is clean and beautiful. One of the best decisions I have ever made and stuck with More...
Amazing place. It is aways clean, coaches and staff are friendly and talkative. Workouts can be tough but the couches try to push you harder and take their time to make sure you are doing it correctly. I tried their trial month, I was very happy with the results. I can't afford their regular monthly prices right now. But I can't wait to go back! More...
Dropped in for a class while visiting NYC. Very nice facility with great coaching. I'll be back.
Changing my rating to 5 stars because the bathroom sinks have been repaired. I graduated the New You Challenge and joined as a regular member. The difficulty level keeps increasing and I've never been in better shape. I work out at my fullest every single class. Coach Will, who designs all the daily workouts, is the best. You will never get a harder, more fun, more satisfying workout. The spirit of camaraderie and support is amazing. I'm hooked! More...
Great gym with a choice of some great classes including CrossFit and RX, which is a cardio/HIIT class. Coaches are knowledgeable and friendly and the place is CLEAN.
Great facility with an even more amazing staff. I have been working out here for a couple months and have yet to be disappointed. Every coach is very experienced and knows how to push you to your limits while also creating a safe and enjoyable atmosphere (well as enjoyable as a crossfit workout can be). Limits on class sizes make every workout more personal and allows them to really make sure you're doing exercises properly. Highly recommend! More...
I love the place. Great instructors, challenging classes and an all round supportive environment. Awesome working spot... excellent staff
Crossfit was once something I avoided due to the lack of knowledge and anxiety of not belonging. This gym has changed my whole perception when it comes to the workout. One of the nicer crossfit facilities in the city. Solid workout.
Amazing facility, so friendly and welcoming!!
This place is top notch in every single aspect. I could not be any more happier that I joined. The facility is brand-new and well-maintained, creating the perfect lab for athletes to grow . The coaches are all outstanding and truly passionate about their teachings. The programming is extremely detail-oriented, focusing on building the proper fundamentals through each phase of every Olympic lift. Most importantly, there is truly a sense of community amongst all of the athletes training, regardless of their level-- everybody supports one another through even the most challenging workouts. Seriously, give this place a try. More...
CrossFit SPOT is an amazing place. I am beyond happy that I chose to join a 6 week challenge group. The owner took his time to actually sit down with me and ask me specifically what I wanted to do and told me how he would help me to do so. Every class that I went to had amazing coaches who were so supportive of the members. Every time I walk in there, I'm greeted by super friendly staff and I can feel that they care about me being there! I am really happy to continue my journey with SPOT and know that I will achieve my goals soon. More...

Nice workout, friendly staff and great gear for training!
Wow!! I Love this place. The trainers are amazing/ big shout out to Stephanie and Julia. These girls are fantastic!!! I would highly recommend this gym!!! great class always .
Amazing people, amazing coaches! The only downside is the price, but it's cheaper than most other xfit gyms in the city so I guess that's not really a downside. I have been part of 2 other gyms in the city (crunch and equinox) and this is the first that has a community (family) that keeps you going (inside and outside the gym). Classes: Rx (conditioning), Crossfit, Bodyweight (similar to conditioning but works on exercises using your body - headstands, hand stands, hand stand pushups, toes to bar, muscle ups), Yoga, Spot Barbell (crossfit class to perfect (or learn) the Olympic lyfts, bench press, deadlift, etc )They also have a bring a friend program where you get a discount if someone says you referred them! Great Community to be a part of. Train Hard and Play Hard!
The community at this box is amazing! the coaches have a true passion to see you do well! I love that they cap the classes at 12. We did a drop in to do the open 17.1 workout here and got a very warm welcome. Great facilities, great spirit and great smoothies!
Great spot, great people. Billy and his team created a safe environment where you feel at home and always like giving 100%. The best gym I visited since moving to NYC. Always looking forward to the next workout. More...
I'm so hot and cold with any place to workout (especially if there is a contract). I was part of Lifetime Fitness in New Jersey (quit when I moved to NYC), crunch in NYC (quit because they didn't offer many early morning classes) and Equinox (amazing facilities, but quit because I didn't feel a sense of community and the classes started to become quite boring). I had always wanted to try Crossfit, but never wanted to pay the CRAZY amount for it.I started here because I saw a groupon deal (I think it was under $100+ additional groupon promos) so it was a no brainer. In the first month I was there, the instructors knew my name and I had started to become friends with other members so I knew I had to continue on, but what about the price?! The gym did such a great job of promoting inclusion (staff and box goers together) that I didn't want to leave it and was willing to pay a bit more for that and the BEST workout I've ever gotten. Most boxes ONLY focus on the crossfit part which means they have zero cardio - if you've ever ran a Spartan race, you need both crossfit strength and incredible cardio. This one really stresses conditioning and kicks your butt in every class. Even in my fittest days at equinox, I couldn't do a pull up - but 3 months at this gym and I am able to do them! The instructors help you work toward being strong and healthy, not just looking fit. If you are very new to crossfit or just gym-ing in general, don't be scared - there are people of all levels and ages and everyone is there to cheer you on. And if you are very fit, you'll still be sore after any of the classes. More...
I usually don't post reviews but I really love this gym. Family vibe very encouraging atmosphere. I am someone who really likes to get a lot out of my classes and push myself so I ALWAYS take Will Arrufat's classes. He has empowered me to go harder in my classes and try new exercises. His energy is fun and and I can honestly say I am much stronger now than I was before I started. More...
I've officially been a member of Crossfit SPOT for a year now, I just renewed my membership and felt the need to write an update. This place has really changed my life. I've lost a significant amount of weight, pushed myself to my limits and made some really great friends. I feel like I belong to a community and I really couldn't imagine my life without it. Even if crossfit isn't your jam, they have REALLY AMAZING conditioning and HIIT style classes (called RX on the schedule). They will kick your butt and make you feel like a total athlete bad a**. I highly recommend getting yourself to an RX class with Will Arrufat. He's a Nike trainer with a fun teaching style that will challenge and support you. Seriously. You need to take his class. All the trainers are fantastic, so you really can't go wrong.Facilities are beautiful and well maintained - equipment is new and high end, locker rooms are that of a "boutique" studio and there's a coffee/juice bar. Finally, and I really hate to discredit someone else's feelings, but whatever other reviewer said that Will was "uncomfortable" is completely off base. Everyone at this gym is beyond professional and has the credentials to back it up. Also, as a PSA, if you ever feel seriously uncomfortable in that way (at any gym or in life generally) then I don't think YELP is the most appropriate forum to have your concerns addressed or to find a remedy. Always talk to someone in a position of responsibility because that's a serious thing. I find it borderline disgusting that someone would be so flippant as to make accusations like that online. Will can push you to your max, but won't push you past your limits. The workout will be tough, but it will also be doable. This guy has worked at some of the biggest names in the city and (I'll repeat it) is a NIKE TRAINER - he knows what he's doing, his classes fill up with waitlists. Form your own opinions on that one. If you're ready to find a family and change your body this place is your home. More...
Great place to workout ! I've been attending classes for 7 months now. All the coaches are very nice and supportive. They built a nice and welcoming community that helps you out with the training and takes care of each other. The facility is super clean and well maintained. The equipment is new and the classes are small ! So you don't only learn the technique but also your weaknesses to be improved. Love this place and it'll be hard to find another box like this one. I joined the 6 Week New You Challenge and it was such an incredible program filled with amazing people! The coaches definitely knew that I was capable of more challenges and I enjoyed every aspect of it! Not only did they push you towards a greater physical state, but they were also very supportive and cool! They made the class environment very comfortable so judgments were NOT allowed! They helped you out with your form and encouraged you to do your best! The fellow challengers were also supportive and very friendly! Amazing workouts and would highly recommend this place! More...
Nice energy, good people, don't take themselves too seriously. Beginners (like me) welcome!
I've been working out here for about 4 months - I've been a member of the black box, and tried out and visited a bunch of other gyms in the area. This is the best gym in nyc. My cleans and snatches have gotten way better because of the coaching, both in the crossfit classes and the barbell club. Everyone is super friendly and the coaches do a good job pushing you hard but with safety and proper form in mind. The facilities are also phenomenal. built in olympic lifting platforms, top notch eleiko barbells and plates. It doesn't get better than that. If you live or work nearby, you should definitely join. I discovered CrossFit Spot when I signed up to be a member of the New You Challenge the box was hosting. I interviewed with the owner Billy De La Rosa and was immediately impressed with the facility and with Billy. Yes, this is a business; however, Billy genuinely wants his members to succeed. I was super impressed that he remembered most if not all of our names and has attempted to develop personal relationship with dozens of new members. The facility is impeccably clean and well equipped. The trainers are very well qualified, encouraging and personable (Stephanie, Jessica, Will, etc.). Front desk staff is always helpful. Did I mention that one of the fittest woman on Earth (Kari Pearce) trains here! CrossFit can be intimidating to many particularly those who are new to the experience. This box takes every stereotype about CrossFit and smashes it. It is an environment where encouragement, camaraderie and hard work is encouraged. More...
My wife is big into crossfit and loves this place. I'm a proud, retired, meathead who has gotten out of shape. My wife dragged me to this place and I have to admit I really liked it (don't tell her or I'll hear "I told you so" forever). There is a good mix of expert and beginner people and the instructor (Mike was mine) was very good. It really kicked my butt and I needed that. I'm thinking about making it a regular thing. I've gone twice now and really like it. Nice facility and very good people More...
I joined Crossfit SPOT three months ago and there is no looking back! LOVE this spot! I'm a beginner to the sport, but the top quality, technical and patient coaching during the MySPOT intro session with Coach Jessica taught me the basics while giving me the confidence to keep going. Since then, I've taken full advantage of the amazing programs at Crossfit SPOT to build my strength and cardio. The barbell classes are great opportunities to practice weight lifting moments and even if I'm only moving a fraction of my peers, I've always felt welcomed. The RX classes (especially with Coaches Will and Stephany) are high energy circuit-style sweat sessions that keep you moving for a full 60 mins and the only thing it gets you comfortable with is the crossfit terminology as the exercises are intense and fast-changing. To practice the gymnastic movements of crossfit, the body weight classes are ideal. At first they appear to be more low key, but since no weights are required, you are your greatest challenge! The body weight classes encourage agility, build strength and mental commitment. And of course, I'm happy to share that I'm also enjoying regular crossfit classes too! Thanks to the positive energy of coaches Danny and Mike, WODs at 6am are the best start to my days! (Seriously!) CrossfitSPOT is a top notch facility with excellent coaching and a wonderful community atmosphere led by a great owner Coach Billy. I'm so happy that I took a chance to give it a try. I've finally found my workout spot in NYC! More...
Great gym! I've been to a few cross-fit gyms but this is the best!! Classes are small and the instructors push you just the right amount and are really careful about form. I was going to be in town for work for a couple weeks and needed to find a gym. I came across CrossFit Spot on Yelp, and since it was so close to my hotel, it was perfect! The entire staff was wonderful to work with from my very first email correspondence with Billy, to my very last class with Danny. The facilities and equipment were clean and organized. The price was incredible at $99 unlimited for a month. And as if all of that wasn't enough, being able to be coached by some of the Fittest Women in America was an awesome experience. If I'm ever back in New York, this will 100% be my go-to gym. Thank you for everything CrossFit Spot! More...
Almost having a personal trainer to work with in a small group environment ! Great concept ! Great for beginners and people trying to get into shape as myself
I've been at Crossfit Spot for a month now and can already see the changes in my body: I'm stronger, thinner, and more energetic. The coaches here are incredibly motivating and tell it like it is. They've created the perfect environment to push yourself and find your inner strength. Highly recommend! More...
This place is fantastic! The equipment is top notch and the instructors are very patient and helpful. They do a great job motivating you to stay engaged in the class. I also like that they have class options for RX and Body Weight Mastery that are beyond the scope of traditional Crossfit-only gyms. I took the month-long Crossfit Spot intro course and really enjoyed it. They spent a lot of time teaching proper technique and form to avoid injury so that once you're ready to move on to the traditional Crossfit workouts, you're confident and comfortable lifting. Not only the staff, but also the other gym members who work out here are very inclusive, supportive, and encouraging. More...
This is an incredible CrossFit box with stunning, brand new facilities, incredibly knowledgable and motivational instructors, and a real sense of camaraderie. Oh, and there's a fancy juice bar upstairs. :) I've gone to a few CrossFit classes (better if you've done CrossFit in the past and are familiar with Olympic lifts) and an RX class (really intense cardio/conditioning with medicine balls and the like). One cool thing they do which I've never seen at other gyms is give people heart rate monitors to wear, which project onto the wall -- they're a great way to make sure you're pushing yourself. The studio is on ClassPass which is awesome! The only downside is that the class packages are quite expensive -- still well within the range of normal for New York CrossFit, but more than I could afford on a student budget. Overall, though, if you want to get into CrossFit, this is a great gym to do it at! More...
Excellent Crossfit box and gym! Very nice facilities (locker room, shower, lockers, etc), very knowledgable and friendly coaches, and a great two level gym setup. Only opened about a month ago, so plenty of space in the classes. Only dropped in, but have seen a lot of gyms/boxes and this one is awesome! They also use heart rate monitors and project the info on the wall during the class, which is cool and adds something extra to the workout. More...
Dropped in on a Thursday from out of town. Emailed with them prior to coming. They responded quickly and clearly. Coaches were great. I came in hurting a bit from an injury and advised them I couldnt perform a few of the exercises on the board for the day. They were extremely understanding and adjust my workout accordingly. What I really responded to was they treated me like one of their regulars and didn't just ignore me knowing I would be gone in an hour. Mike and Morgan ( the coaches) both critiqued and gave me some great tips on my form for some of the movements!Totally recommend dropping in here! More...
I found Crossfit Spot through classpass and I have done 2 RX classes so far. I definitely think that RX is a great circuit training workout, and I look forward to coming back 3x a month (classpass' cap on visits to any specific studio). Pros:- Nice showers - they even have hair towels, and their shower products (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) smell fantastic - New location - Heart rate monitors they give you to wear around your waist during class gives you stats like how much of your max you are working at and the amount of calories burned- Liked the partner segment at the end of the RX classes that helped you have more of a sense of camaraderie - Liked the introductions at the start of class where you find out everyone's name and everyone answers a random icebreaker question of the day Cons:- Only 2 showers - For some, it's location on Amsterdam and 62nd could be a con since it is pretty far west here, but it is actually convenient for me since I live 10 blocks away - Small-ish changing area in the locker room- Only one hairdryer, and it is weak - suggest that they get more hair dryers - at least 2 to match the number of showers they have, and get ones that are more powerfulOverall, this is definitely a great place to work out, and I will be coming back to their RX classes (still a little scared to try out their Crossfit classes) More...
Tried CrossFit Spot for the first time today in the Rx class. Loved it. Billy De La Rosa is awesome. Facility is awesome. I am excited to go back soon for either Rx again or for a different class. Had a lot of fun too.
I've been wanting to try CrossFit for some time and was intimidated by the whole scene. I passed by CrossFit SPOT one day, and it looked incredibly serene, colorful, and inviting, almost like a playground. After a quick correspondence with Billy, the business owner and coach, I stopped by to take a closer look and get my questions answered (and then go think about it for a month or three, so I thought). However, as I was touring the place I could not find one single reason not to join. Everything about it screamed that it's just what I need, ridiculously immaculate and with only smiling faces; and so I signed up for the basic program called My SPOT, which is a 4-weeks progressive program of three days per week, designed to teach you the basic language of CrossFit. Along with that, Billy generously offered that I will take full advantage and come to Bodyweight Mastery classes and so I took one of those with Michael on a Saturday morning. It was incredibly challenging, I was catching my breath for half of the class and was unable to move a finger for the entire following week. At the same time, I've never felt so alive. Michael has a unique combination of alternating between tough and soft love as he studies your real ability along the class. Today I officially began the 4-weeks program and had a class with Deanne who was inspiring in every way. I could go on and on about every detail of the place. Bottom line is that it is immediately noticeable that Billy worked hard on every small detail in order to create a place that is giving the client a very different experience than any other studio in this city: a convenient location, an inviting and immaculate, state-of-the-art studio, a professional and inspiring team, programs that make sense to whichever level you're at, and always, always a warm smiling face at the front desk. You feel that everyone really wants to be there; more than that, you feel that everyone treats this place as if it was their own. I say, come on over. More...
Awesome coaching, great community and good, positive energy. I would highly recommend Crossfit Spot to anyone looking to enhance their fitness journey!
I found Crossfit Spot on Yelp when I was looking for a box that wasn't super busy, since I wanted to change up my workout routine. I was very happy that I found it!I took the 1 month challenge (I was only looking for a short term thing/I'm happy at Equinox). At first I enjoyed it, since the classes were small (2-6 total) at the times I went. In comparison to Equinox, you get a great work out for a semi-private training class. After the 2nd week, I found that the classes weren't really what I was looking for. They were Metcon/tabata styled classes, and I joined to learn and start doing the olympic lifts/workouts that is known to crossfit. This was pretty much a deal breaker for me, since with 1 month membership, you're only doing the groundwork type of classes. They have these style of classes where I currently go, so it didn't make sense to repeat them when I already have that option as is. I would definitely recommend the one month plan IF you were looking to lose weight and change up your routine. I can definitely see their athletes getting results because the coaches are very personable and push throughout the classes. The facilities are GOREGOUS, very clean, well thought out, and new... they even have showers if you head straight to work. If you're a guy like me, looking to learn some new tricks and lifts, and put on some muscle/not lose weight, I'm not sure if I would recommend it (the 1 month challenge). If you do the full membership, that's when you see the types of workouts you join crossfit for, then yes join. Overall it was a positive experience, and in the perfect world, I would have liked to have a membership here and Equinox, but that was cost a small fortune every month. I had a great time while I was there, but it ended up not being a match for what I was looking for. More...

The last six weeks at this box has taken me to the next level of my physical fitness. I love the training protocol, which has improved my endurance and strength. It has also given me a huge amount of body confidence, learning how to move effectively and efficiently.Coach Billy and staff are great motivators, knowledgeable and kind. The small group classes are scaled to each individual's capabilities within a supportive environment. They've integrated technology into their training sessions using Bluetooth Polar heart rate monitors with stats projected onto the wall so you can see how hard you are working. The bi-level facility is clean and locker room is decked out with all you need to shower up and go (toiletries, towels, hair dryer). They also have prepared paleo focused food available from the Kettlebell Kitchen. More...
Best Crossfit gym in NYC. Beautiful, impeccably clean, organized space. Enthusiastic and experienced coaches that focus on you, your technique, and your progress. I've been to other Crossfit gyms in the city. I found them to be less than welcoming and 'frigid'. The other gyms are about getting the numbers up at the detriment to improving proper form. I was always getting hurt. At Crossfit Spot, technique and form are paramount. No one is pushing you to 'go heavier' if your body mechanics aren't properly developed. If you've wanted to try Crossfit, and have been intimidated by cold gyms and disinterested staff, this is the place. They are friendly and supportive from the moment you enter the gym until you leave after your work out. Plus, most important, you WILL get into the best shape of your life doing things you never thought possible. Coaches that compete at the highest levels will guide you to exceptional results. More...
