Our region was once an untouched wilderness of flowering grasslands and dotted groves. Bison browsed unbroken prairies rich in water, wild game, fish and fowl. Settlers soon lay claim and realized “that in order to procure the greatest amount of comfort, convenience and prosperity, it is necessary and expedient” that the area be divided into Lake and Cook Counties in 1839.

The meal was spectacular as was the service we received at the bar. The food came out hot, tasty with superior presentation. The female bartender was charming, engaging and very accommodating. Portions are outstanding. I had the Chicken Pot Pie which was the best I had ever eaten; the crust was very light & the filling was popping with veggies and taste. A hidden gem, indeed. The ambiance is fantastic: live music on Saturdays, fireplaces, comfy couches, great lighting and fun music. I've only been here twice, and the second time I was so impressed that everyone recognized me. All of the staff are super friendly and cordial; I could tell that everyone enjoyed being there. They have variety on their menu to cater to different types of eaters, and their service is quick. I almost don't want to tell people about this place because once they go, they'll be hooked, and I enjoy when I can move around and not be squished.
