Bang for your buck: 9/10Quality: 10/10Service: 10/10Ambiance/Location: 10/10Overall: 10/10Came for restaurant week and were SO impressed! The service was spot on and the food was absolutely incredible! There is a full bar, so we had a great selection of craft beer, craft cocktails, and Dave's favorite Old Fashioned. The interior is stunning. Lots of great natural light, beautiful wood work, and there's tons of space for dining. There is street parking, but we quickly found a spot! We look forward to coming back soon! More...

Good food and very nice staff.  We had two appetizers pirogies and meatball flatbread (which was delicious and almost like a mini pizza).  My wife had a calamari appetizer which was fried and had a really wonderful light batter on it almost like tempura.  I had the blackened catfish on rice with red beans, okra and tomatoes.  It too was very tasty.  My son had a non meat burger which he loved and said it was ever better than better burger. The space is open and fun with lots of art.  They had room for larger parties too.  I definitely recommend it if you are in Columbus. More...

Im going to hold out on the 5th star until I return another day for dinner. I'd like a holistic experience of Copious. My lunch was amazing. I got to sit by the window and people watch. I have one small minute aggrievance -inform me when menu selections incur an upcharge. More...

Excellent experience! Food was awesome, best collard greens we ever had! And our server Charles was totally great! Knowledgable and engaging. We would definitely come back. I had the fried chicken and my boyfriend had the hanger steak, cooked to perfection. And the chef even came out to speak to us on a Saturday night! More...

This was by far the BEST service I have ever had at a restaurant. Charles was a blast to have as a server and made us feel so welcomed and looked after. To top it all off, the cocktails were fantastic (also very strong) and the food was delicious. Copious is an absolutely beautiful venue with amazing food and exceptional employees. Thank you Charles for proving that the sky is the limit when it comes to service. We'll see you again soon! More...

The food at Copious is phenomenal. From the appetizers to the desserts, the offerings are unique and curated. I've dined at numerous restaurants throughout Columbus, and this menu stands out. We ordered pirogies as our starter, and I chose shrimp and grits as my entree. Both dishes were excellent. To finish, I had the banana fosters bread pudding, which was absolutely divine. The restaurant is spacious and well-decorated, and our server Jonah was very attentive. If you haven't been before, I highly recommend visiting Copious. More...

I was here for a wedding.  So take that as you will. The event space upstairs is really nice, I thought.  Setup was done well, and the staff was plentiful to assist with water refills, plate clearing, etc.  Honestly, I had never been to Copious, but based on the wedding food, I would absolutely come here for another meal.  I'm not sure I've ever said that before about any wedding food, and I'd wager it's not a sentence that gets a whole lot of use in general in the English lexicon. It was good food.  I was impressed.  It left me wanting to come back and sit down in the restaurant.  That's how businesses should be doing it -- put a quality foot forward even if some think you don't technically have to.  Well done, chefs and other employees of Copious. Food wasn't bad, it really wasn't. I had the pasta with sausage and shrimp. Need to make sure that orders are correct and getting checks could have been faster but we were a large group.

We had a great time. And our meal was delicious: crab and shrimp dip with Old Bay seasoned homemade chips. I really liked the use of chips for the dip as a new take on the usual tortilla chips. Very tasty. We normally try not to do appetizers bc then we are too full to eat our entrees - but not last nite! . I had the duck in sauce and pasta with tomatoes and noodles. And my husband had the shrimp and scallops risotto. Oh my! It was good. And we ate it all. The duck was cooked well as was the risotto dish. Our waiter took great care to make sure our dinner was good. So of course we tipped well. . This was our 2nd time having dinner here and it was as good as the 1st time. We will be back. Oh do try the honey and lavender cocktail. Nice. We then went downstairs to Notes to hear the Hoodoo Soul Band. Wow. They were good! Gotta check them out again. What a nite!! More...

First time visit on a busy weekend night. My party was running late which worked out because the staff seemed busy and apologized for our waits at different points. Our group enjoyed our cocktails, which often featured local liquors. The bread was above average, especially when paired with the garlicky butter. The chef was able to accommodate my friend's food allergies for her meal. I got the Brussels sprouts salad without added protein. The bacon was fresh and flavorful. The rest of the salad was a little more bland. Something like dried fruit or nuts could have added more flavor and texture. The rest of my party seemed happy with their meals. I'll likely be back, though perhaps not repeat this meal selection. More...

My fiancé and I stumbled on Copious on a whim. It was the weekend of Valentines Day and they welcomed us with open arms with no wait time. We ordered a bottle wine (with help of our waiter to convince us to do so), the halibut meal and the pork chop meal. It was hands down the best place we've eaten in so long. However, to top it all off Charles, our waiter, was phenomenal. He was so personable, helpful with meal selections and just down right an amazing guy. We thank y'all so much and will be back frequently!! You're amazing Charles :) More...

My review may not be the most helpful in that I came here for a special event upstairs in the loft and thus did not eat off the regular menu. However I have been downstairs to the restaurant/bar Notes on Sundays to hear the Bobby Floyd trio and Mojoflo play. Granted, the Notes menu may very well be different from Copius, so I'll only comment on what I've had. I had a fantastic (and strong!) chocolate martini sitting at the bar and I've had their burgers and fries, which I believe had truffle oil on them and were pretty tasty. I hope to come back at some point to try the Copius menu as well, and as a heads up if you like live music, check out the schedule for Notes cause they have lots of good groups! More...

I enjoyed this second go at Copious, more than my first. Very happy Copious has changed up their Happy Hour - from seating to menu selections.Around 3 pm on a wet, dreary Friday, walking in, I was promptly informed by the cheerful hostess that their happy hour seating is now throughout the entire restaurant, not relegated to bar seating only. Fantastic change of course, that I wish more restaurants implemented.  I was much more pleased with this second try with Copious. I got a few small plates to sample, a few of which I had to take home cause I was full after eating two small plates. The Roasted Beet & Goat Cheese Salad was wonderful. The mixed greens were LIGHTLY tossed in their citrus honey vinaigrette, as not to take away from all the components. The dressing was refreshing, there was a decent amount of chopped red and golden beets. Several big clumps of the goat cheese, too.Now I know what all the craze is about for mashed cauliflower. OMG, the pillow-fluffy accompaniment to their Roasted Pork Belly starter was on the level of addictive. Really great subtle garlic notes. The three thick slabs of pork belly could have been hotter (and thus juicier). The chunky caramelized fig jammy condiment atop added a tasty sweet-sour flavor to the pork slices. It being early before the dinner hour, and rainy and generally depressing outside, I was the only patron in the restaurant while I ate. So, service was timely and pleasant. This second trip has changed my questionable  opinion of Copious for the positive.PS: I got a few different HH dishes to-go to fulfill my gift certificate: Ohio Pierogies and the Roasted Pear Salad. A heads-up: Get BOTH! The potato and white cheddar pierogies come with a mushroom ragout that's a perfect pairing. I loved the pear salad, but passed on the Champagne vinaigrette dressing - too much tart. More...

First the bad. Service was slow. That's about all the bad. Good. Food was delicious. Location fantastic. Overall. We went for Sunday brunch and waited almost an hour for the food. The ace was not very busy, but we didn't really notice because we were catching up with old friends. It was the manager that approached us about how long it was taking. She was fantastic, super nice and very professional. She took the blame for loosing out food order. I've worked in food service for way too many years. A manager that does that is very rare. Especially when we didn't have to draw their attention to the wait time. I will definitely be back, and soon. More...

The $6 burger was awesome, although my server was extremely inattentive. The music venue, Notes, was also awesome in terms of listening to music. But the kitchen and table service at Notes was awful. It took forever for food to arrive. My server totally forgot my order. My tablemates had to gulp their food down before the next seating because it took so long for the food to arrive. The great music compensated for all that, but you need to do better coaching your staff. More...

This is my second time at Copious for a large birthday party. My first experience was exceptional. Food was great, wine choices were good, service was impeccable. Our party rented out the private room downstairs and continued our wonderful night. My experience was a 5 star experience.

However....went on 11/10/17 with a large party for a 40th bday party. There was only one waitress for our entire party. She was great and very attentive. The only reason I could not give a 5 star rating was due to the kitchen staff. Some members in our party received their food almost 30 minutes before the rest of the party. Timing was way off. The food was just okay and varied in temperature. The $33 filet mignon was lacking. Do not recommend this.

Kudos for the restaurant embracing technology. The wait staff carry around tablets that can pull up each bull andd pay almost as fast as Chipotle .

Aaron was my waiter and he was awesome. I gave him a laundry list of what I dont want on my burger and he memorized it correctly! He also wasn’t afriad to tell you what was good and what was not a seller on the menu. The food was awesome. I was not that hungry but presentation and mix of flavors turned on the drooling and cookie monster eating machine in my brain. Seriously, I will go back and try another dish. I had thier hamburger and sweet potato fries. Fries were outstanding as well. My only issue was drinks. I am limited on drinks and I wanted sweet tea but Aaron said it was not southern style so I passed and had water. My friend really liked thier mixed drink grilled lemonade with strawberry. More...

Our server was DJ and he is one of the best servers I’ve ever had. He made excellent food and drink recommendations, kept our glasses full and was very personable. He has a postive and infectious attitude. He even made sure that the dip would not be too spicy for me.

Nice, quiet atmosphere. Clean glossy wood tables with popular ambient music.

Food was delicious. We had cocktails, an appetizer, two entrées and a dessert. Everything was bursting with flavor. We had the hot crab and shrimp dip, halibut special, chicken thighs and bananas foster.

The butter was seasoned and paired well with the bread.

We found this place on a whim. I never heard of it before.

I came here with several friends and I must say I was impressed with the food as well as the staff. The food was delicious and the staff pretty much catered to our every need. The entire time my party was there, we never had to look for or flag down the waitress. Inside the restaurant it's beautifully put together with a slight urban feel. Upstairs is huge for parties or banquets and the lighting on the ceiling is so pretty and perfect for spring/summer events. I will definitely be returning and will invite friends and family. This was our first visit to Copious.  We chose copious because the menu looked interesting. The parking lot in the back is convenient and valet is available as well.  The restaurant has a really cool vibe.   Elegant but not at al stuffy.  The walls are adorned with works from local artists which are available for purchase.  The apps were amazing. The best Brussels sprouts  ever and the fries were perfect even without the duck fat.   I had the schnitzel with braised cabbage. Come on....it's schnitzel!  Good stuff and the braised red cabbage was more sweet than sour.  A plus.   The spaetzle   was a little different from traditional but very tasty. First time at Copius Saturday evening with my husband and friend.  Parking was easier than anticipated with a lot directly behind the building.  Reservations were at 8:15pm and much to our surprise, it was not crowded.  It is a very trendy place with modern decor.  There is a large entry area with the hostess stand and I enjoyed a pineapple mojito while I waited for my friend to arrive.  We met the manager and talked for a few.  My friend arrived and she got a pineapple mojito, as well and then we were escorted to our booth.  The booths were quite roomy and the entire dining area was spacious.  Noise was minimal, although we were there after the dinner rush, I believe.  Service was on point.  I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, which sat on a bed of creamy polenta, wilted spinach, and topped with spicy remoulade.  Crab cakes were creamy, yet were perfectly browned on top and bottom.  Polenta was cooked perfectly and paired well as a base for the crab cakes.  The remoulade was spicier than I anticipated, but not unbearable. My husband got the Best Ever Burger, which is a blend of chuck, short rib, and brisket topped with bacon jam, dijonnaise, white cheddar, lettuce, and tomato.  Huge burger with great flavor.  He paired it with french fries.  My friend ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Risotto, pan seared with pancetta, fennel, and asparagus on a bed of cauliflower "risotto" and sun dried tomato pesto. The presentation of all of the food we ordered was impressive.  Expect large portions of food made with high quality ingredients and great flavor. More...

I came to copious today for a baby shower and was blown away.  The ambience, food,  and service was exceptional.  We were on the top floor which was a beautiful event space that holds up to 250 people. The meal for the event was buffet style and served very impressively.  The meal included salad which was very fresh with two types of dressings. Grilled mixed squash and vegetables done to perfection and lightly seasoned. Two types of pasta with a really delicious marinara sauce.  Bread, butter and cheeses. This place is nice. A higher scale brewery district place, with some outstanding food. Place was spotless, and decor was modern and sharp. Service was spot on, but our server had this really over the top fake smile, that actually, was sort of creepy, but like i said, he did a great job, and was very knowledgeable. I got the pork belly, which was excellent, she got there mussels, which I tried, and might say the best we have had in the city, next to Barcelona. Little man got his signature burger w/fried egg, and said it was great. The restaurant itself is on the first floor, but they share out the basement for live music-entertainment. Not sure if its ran by them, but still cool I guess.Only a few small nits...this place is pricey, and my portion size could have been bigger, and the parking is a nightmare. They have a very small lot that was full, and I had to circle the block a few time before lucking out, and grabbing a meter spot from someone pulling out.Other than that, Im a fan. More...

After wandering around on a Sunday afternoon, my companions and I wanted to get drinks... Of the alcoholic variety. That is apparently difficult, even in the German Village / Brewery district. So cheers to Copious for having happy hour on a Sunday!(this earned them the extra half star, they were really 3.5 in my mind otherwise...)We came in at exactly 4 and were seated in a back booth. They do have a decent menu selection and after a few minutes of deciding, my companions got wine and I went with a Witch's flip cocktail. (I'm a sucker for egg white cocktails). We keep ordered the fried Brussel Sprouts and hummus to munch on. Bread was brought to the table as well. The Sprouts were good (but why is this trend just now hitting Cbus?! And can people start getting more original with their preparation of it?) but the hummus was a bit weak in flavor and presentation. My cocktail was... OK. The flavors were a nice combination, but I thought they would have been better warmed. And the egg white foam was pithy and I wanted more. The service was efficient and we had no problems with our waiter. He even allowed us to use a discount on the meal, so win!I didn't really like the loud music coming from (I assume) their lounge below... It didn't make the afternoon relaxing and made it hard to hear the conversation. So a good stop for drinks on a Sunday, but it won't be my go to for the area. More...

Let me start by prefacing that my reservations were for NYE and they were hosting a prix fixe menu. I booked through an app and for most the event was prepay $75 per person including 3 courses and a glass of champagne. Copious is located in the legal district of German Village just south of the courthouses on High. There is a marquee with the restaurant name. They have a bar off of the dining room and a jazz bar called Notes in the basement. There is also a second story for special occasions. We arrived on time and it was a full house. They had valet but we found a spot close to the entrance, the two men at the door were talking to eachother and therefore didn't open the door for us two ladies. With our reservation we were seated immediately. They had a jazz band playing which further accented the romantic atmosphere; hardwood  floors, dim modern lights, and highback booths. As I stated the had a prix fixe only menu so I can't speak for other items on the standard menu. I ordered the French onion soup, 10oz ribeye with potatoe gratin and creamed kale, ending with a cheese platter. My girlfriend had the French onion soup, salmon with orzo and asparagus, and Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. It took a bit if time to get our orders mostly because the manager was called over due to me wanting to sub the creamed kale for asparagus, I just don't do alfredo sauces. When the food finally came it looked tasty...even the creamed kale. The manager pulled a miracle and included an order of asparagus (with the prix fixe subbing is not an option). The ribeye was huge and tender but too pink to be medium well. I ate the fully cooked parts and requested they fully cook the rest. Yes, I know medium well still has pink in it but only a hint of pink not raw meat. This was more like medium or medium rare in the middle. Once properly cooked it was perfect. The potatos gratin was layered like a lasagna with thinly sliced potatoes. My meal and my friend's meal were both very satisfying. It was clear we paid for the vibe as well. The meal was slightly overpriced as I would have expected to pay more like $60 per person at comparable establishments but remember this was a holiday and special event. After our dining we went to Notes in the basement, to bring in the New Year with a dance party hosted by O-GEE. All in all we enjoyed yourselves, both food and venue. The ability to park once and have both dinner and a party in an upscale environment is rare in Columbus. Great place for dressing up for something special or a romantic date. More...

My husband and I had Thanksgiving dinner here, as it was just the two of us this holiday and we didn't feel like cooking a big meal. We found Copious to have a very affordable prix-fixe menu for the day as compared to many other options in Columbus. We had appetizers of baked brie and fried brussels sprouts, entrees of herb-roasted turkey and seared scallops, and desserts of pumpkin cheesecake and a roasted pear for $30/person. We finished our entire meals and enjoyed them both as well as my husband's smoky bourbon cocktail. The service was prompt and the restaurant was clean and bright. We had been to one of the Brewery Hop events previously in the summer and found their bartender representative to be excellent, so kept Copious in mind as a place we had to come back to. We'll definitely be back again to try the regular menu as well. More...

Copious is interesting. It's located on South High Street in the Brewery District and the building also contains the venue Notes. We've gone here a couple of times and each time we've had the exact same experience. The quality of the food diminishes with each course. The bread + butter and beer selection is great. The appetizers are great. The main courses are not as good. The desert is forgetful. Although I'm delighted that they do carry my favorite port on the menu. But I can't figure it out. I'm not sure if we're just ordering the wrong dishes but every time we go there is a very noticeable quality difference as the night goes on. Copius at 4 stars is definitely worth a visit, but I recommend ordering a lot of appetizers! More...

I have been here twice but both times only for lunch so my review is limited to the lunch hour but I hear good things about their brunch and I know they serve dinner as well.  I have also attended an event upstairs in their event space and it is really nice, too, but this review is all about the lunch.Okay, first of all, Copious is a great space.  The inside is large and bright.  The atmosphere is very inviting.  As we were walking out, my boyfriend and I agreed that we want to come back and try their dinner and brunch as well as their bar.  They also have patio space if you wish to eat outdoors. The lunch menu has a lot to offer including daily specials.  The variety made it a little hard for me to choose but I ended up going with their turkey club sandwich.  It was very tasty and the fries that came with it were DELICIOUS.  The prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion size.  My boyfriend got the grilled cheese and their soup of the day and he really enjoyed it.  The tables come with orange-infused water and it is so tasty and refreshing!  Our server was very friendly and attentive.  We dined with another friend who has food allergies and she was very mindful of that which is always appreciated. We had an excellent time at Copious and are looking forward to returning again outside the lunch hour to see what else they have to offer. Came here for dine originals week. Started with the falafel and hummus, which was good. The falafel had a unique flavor to it but was still tasty. Had the fall risotto for the main course. Pretty presentation, but wasn't super flavorful. Could have used a little something extra,  but very generous portions of the veggies and chicken. This was definitely the most bland of the main course dishes. Everyone else had either the steak or pork schnitzel, both were great. Loved the atmosphere as well. Chic and local art that you can purchase that decorated the space. The service was friendly but somewhat slow. We were one of two tables in the whole restaurant but it took quite a while to get our food. Dine originals was a great way to try this restaurant. We celebrated my wife's birthday at Copious and Notes, and had such a remarkable evening.  Copious is a huge, fine dining restaurant in the Brewery District.  There's about twenty parking spaces in back, which is nice when you are going down town.  Not having to pay for parking is such a bonus.  When we went inside, the restaurant was empty.  It was 5:00 on a Sunday, and the main reason we went there was to watch the Bobby Floyd Trio (traditional jazz) in the underground live music venue named "Notes" (copious notes).  Bobby Floyd tours nationally with the Count Basie Orchestra, and he was out of town this time, but I'll get back to that.   On Sunday, there was happy hour up at the bar in the restaurant section of Copious.  Happy hour on a Sunday?  That's as rare as spotting big foot!  My wife and I ordered several half off happy hour appetizers, like stemmed mussels and egg rolls.  They were tasty and ended up being the perfect amount of food.  Wine, beer, and local spirits were also happy hour priced, so I enjoy a few Watershed and Oyo bourbons on the rocks.  She had red wine, which she seemed pleased with.     We then went down stairs to Notes.  Tickets to see the Bobby Floyd Trio (piano, bass, and drums) were $8 a piece for general admission.  Boy was that a deal!  The club is what you'd envision in your mind.  With a very "speak easy" vibe, it was classy, with lots of bistro tables and booths.  You can reserve seats for an extra price, but we thought we'd chance it.  Bobby Floyd was not there that night, because he was traveling with the Count Bassie Band.  His replacement on piano did not disappoint.  It was such an intimate experience, that even a casual jazz listener would enjoy it.  The cocktail waitresses were on point.  They have a limited dinner menu in the club, but my wife and I had already eaten.  Over all, it was more than a night out.  It was a one-of-a-kind experience! The food is fantastic! And the service is great too. I tried the burger and the rack of lamb. They are both great. The price is definitely on the higher side but I'm willing to pay for this kind of food, and service.

Me and my family went to Copious for my moms birthday. We wanted to go to a nice place with high quality food and this definitely hit the spot. We went on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was nearly empty, upstairs at least. I could hear live music going on downstairs, which was pretty good by the way, but not sure if there was other people down there as well. The food was amazing too. I personally got the Burger and Fries which were delightful. The burger was juicy and the fries where plentiful and delicious. Others in my family got the Ohio Walleye which they all enjoyed as well. For dessert we all got the cheesecake, and wow, this had to be one of the best cheesecakes I had even eaten. So if you are looking for a high quality meal for a special occasion, you should really check this place out. More...

Was going between 3 and 4 for this but the waiter, who I wish I could remember his name, brought it up to a 4.  Very friendly, knowledgeable and easy.  A co diner pointed out that it's difficult to be professional and still work your way into a conversation seamlessly and he did this.  Having waited tables for 30 years I know you have to read a table and he is great at that. The pressed coffee was awesome as well.Prices are pretty standard for this kind of place and brunch.  2 of us got the Chicken and waffles and 3 the hash.  Everyone was pleased.  Only observations on the Chicken and waffles is mine Chicken was overcooked and the seasoning could have been taken up a notch spice and salt wise.  I would have liked to notice more of a competition between sweet and savory. Portion was huge and I ate it all up.I'll absolutely be back for dinner or happy hour! More...

I had a great dining experience at Copious! The Columbus Dine Original offers locally sourced American comfort fare, craft beer and cocktails in a spacious, art-accented venue. The bountiful restaurant menu features small plates, fresh seafood, gluten free and vegetarian options. Each dish is prepared with care. The chef uses the finest organic and locally raised ingredients. The restaurant works with 50 artisans who help create the best dishes Central Ohio has to offer. When I dined here, I ordered the Sous Vide Airline Chicken Breast which came with roasted garlic whipped potatoes, seasonal vegetables and truffle beurre blanc. The gluten free dish was flavorful and prepared perfectly. Just like the restaurant's name, I received a plentiful amount of food. Copious also offers a great Happy Hour Tuesday-Sunday from 4-7pm. Patrons can receive half off all starters, soups and salads. As for drinks, all house cocktails and wines are $3 off and local beers on tap are $5. Besides offering delicious cuisine and a decent alcohol selection, Copious provides a unique dining experience with its live music and changing wall art. The art on the wall changes monthly with new art from different local artists. If you are looking for a one of a kind dining experience, I highly recommend checking out Copious. My family was in from Maryland and my girlfriend came down from Cleveland for my birthday this past weekend. For brunch, we decided to give Copious a try and we were not disappointed! Cheddar Shrimp and Grits were outstanding, French Toast was impeccable, and the Chicken and Waffles were great. Bloody Mary was average but the ingredients were fresh. One of the owning partners came out and talked with us for quite some time and highlighted the addition of the new Jazz Club downstairs. A must try for brunch in a city loaded with viable options. We are adding it to our dinner list in the coming weeks! More...

Grabbed dinner at Copious last night, I live in brewery district but this was my first time in. I love the space, and they were able to quickly accommodate our group of 8! Our server was great and very knowledgeable about the menu. We arrived at 630 and happy hour goes until 7, but only at the bar. They have a great selection of draft beer, lots of local breweries and some cool cocktails. For dinner I had the mussels and ordered a side of Brussels sprouts. The mussels were good, but the sauce was very salty. The Brussels sprouts were great! I'd like to check out brunch next! More...

An excellent combination of earthy salty sweet and anything else you might want for a taste bud.  We went for going for Dine Originals restaurant week, however we also tried the seasonal fig and berry bruschetta as well. It was the most perfect combination of salty sweet smoky bright crunchy and soft all at once.Copious makes its own burratta in house and it is amazing! This version was served over both red and golden beets, drizzled in honey, and topped with the savory roasted sunflower seeds accent. A tiny piece of watercress set off the whole ensemble. This was an amazing combination of earth the sweet creamy and salty.I had the scallops which were seared perfectly, served over blue cheese grits, and accented with brussels sprouts. It was absolutely delicious, light and yet filling. I cannot wait to go back again! More...

I'm from DC; in Columbus for 2 weeks for training.  I found Copious via online Yelp and Open Table reviews. So glad I came.  I'm a breakfast food lover and regardless of what's on the menu I tend to default to eggs.  When I'm at a new place, I always ask the staff what their favorites are.  They know the menu.  My server Andrew recommended the Eggs Oh MG.  It's a short rib hash, topped with 2 poached eggs, breakfast potatoes, bell peppers, onions, hollandaise sauce.  Eggs perfectly cooked; hash perfectly seasoned. All coffee is French press which if you drink a lot at breakfast is pricey since they charge by the pot. However no more than your regular speciality coffee from your favorite coffee place.  The roast was bold which I also enjoy.  It's rare you can go somewhere these days and get French press.  Excellent coffee.  The restaurant wasn't crowded at 1130 on a Saturday morning.  Service was attentive without being intrusive.  Highly recommend. We came in for the New Years prix fixe menu, and I have to say, we were NOT disappointed. Our waiter James was friendly and engaging, and gave descriptions of the food that were nearly as mouthwatering as the meal itself! He knew the menu back to front, and highly recommended the burrata starter and the pork tenderloin entree, both of which were absolutely to die for. The burrata came with an incredible delicate brown butter sauce that was nutty and rich and a perfect complement to the creaminess of the cheese. The pork tenderloin was exquisite - cooked sous vide, and seared slightly, and just melt-in-your-mouth tender. The pork came with a cauliflower au gratin, which had nutty wild rice and an incredible pecorino to boot. Just fabulous! The desserts were great as well - a peppermint creme brûlée and a super boozy eggnog semi-freddo! Wow. And best of all, we got to chat with Don, the executive chef throughout the meal, and he told us all about the dishes we ordered, and some of the other incredible events Copious has to offer. Every time we come here, the service is absolutely perfect and the food is world class. They make you feel like you're royalty! I can't recommend Copious enough. Hopefully we'll be back for their January beer dinner! More...

Very nice restaurant with an eclectic take on some traditional dishes. Food was excellent and the addition of the local art on display in a great touch to really show off the talents of Columbus. Service staff is friendly and knowledgeable on the dishes served to offer up recommendations. The chef came out during the meal to seek opinions on the dishes and give his insight as well. The only thing keeping this place from being a 5 star rating in my book is the noise level, it is quite loud in here that would prevent it from being a romantic date spot, but still a good casual upscale dinner location with a great bar to pull up to for that late night cocktail. Stellar happy hour! Came here with a group last week and we had fantastic service. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and didn't seem to mind that we were loud (and probably a little obnoxious)! The setting here is really beautiful - lots of local art on the walls and handcrafted glass vases along the tops of the room dividers. It's a much larger place than I had anticipated, so I bet it would be good for large groups. We had an assortment of the $5 happy hour small plates, as well as a few of the side dishes. The gouda mac n' cheese was amazing! The wings are a good price/size for .50 a piece, and the chips with cheese was also tasty. Glasses of wine were also only $5, and my Malbec was excellent. A good variety of food and drink for great happy hour prices! Also, the bathroom was super nice. I would definitely go back for another happy hour, and would be interested in visiting for dinner. I can't believe people have not found out about Copious yet. It has a HUGE layout, lots of parking and a ton of potential.  Happy hour - They have some fantastic wines and drafts. Their bartenders also seemed to know there stuff. Pours for around $5 and some nice bar bites.Parking: its easy to do here, which isn't the case in most of the area. Major win for convenience. The staff: they are truly passionate about the experience and want to see Copious thrive. i don't blame them - I'm on that team as well. The food: brunch was great (Grits are bomb), happy hour was decent. The meatball was a win.The challenge here is doing a lot of different things and finding a concise way to talk about it. Everyone that I talked to had a difficult time trying to explain everything that Copious was and could be in part because of Notes downstairs and the event space upstairs. As Copious figures out its story, you're going to want to be a part of it. More...

We came for restaurant week. Both the restaurant week and regular menu had some delicious-sounding options, but we were there for the specials. It was 6pm on a Friday and we didn't have a reservation so while husband waited in the car, I went in to see if we could get a table. I was greeted by a hostess and the manager and they were prepared to seat us immediately, even when I said we would have our 1 year old with us. The service was excellent and all the servers were so friendly with my daughter, waving at her and talking to her throughout the meal. Our server was very attentive, even as more tables were coming in, letting us know if we weren't satisfied with our drinks we could order something else. Drinks were tasty and poured well. Husband had the Spicy Redhead (a little too throat-burning for me) and I had the grapefruit margarita. For appetizers, Husband had the bacon wrapped goat cheese grape leaves which he said were tasty but we're very small. I had the caprese focaccia bread which was good but I would have preferred the olive tapenade to be a little more chopped up. Our entrees came out quickly; husband I both had the hot chicken. The sauce was perfectly spiced and sweet, but we both would have preferred a little more chicken. I enjoyed the deviled eggs (husband did not) and he enjoyed the collard greens (I did not- too buttery). Husband had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert and I had the fruity milk cake which was a large serving for a dessert but tasty. Overall we would come here again but maybe without the little one. While they were very friendly toward her, there wasn't much we could give her from the menu to eat and there was no changing table in the restroom (though there are two walls they could easily install one). Um, wow, I love this place. Went for spur of the moment happy hour with a friend, and we had such a lovely time!! The bar is beautiful and clean -- think subway time next to wood tones, with nice, cushy, & backed bar stools -- and separated but still open to the dining space, which also looks bright and comfortable. Happy hour has a special $5 menu. We ordered white wine, goat cheese-stuffed dates, caprese crostini, and mac n cheese fritters -- all delicious, good portions, all super worth the $5!! The staff were awesome, too, attentive and friendly but not overbearing. Honestly, best Cbus happy hour I've been to yet. I'm going to be a regular.Importantly, we asked: "Is your happy hour 4-7pm on all weekdays?"Answer: "No -- it's 4-7pm every day."EVERY DAY!!Other notes:- Local beers on tap: I saw North High, Zauber, Wolf Rodge, and Land Grant I think.- Patio looks nice, but unfortunately facing west so too hot on summer afternoons/evenings. Copious is a unique new addition to the brewery district, and though they have needed some time to find their feet, I think they're now well on their way to becoming a highlight of the area. The three levels offer some unique options, with their event space on the third floor for large parties or private events, the art gallery / restaurant space on the main level, featuring some beautiful, simple decor, local art pieces, and a nice menu of "elevated" but still very reasonably priced comfort food, and their beautiful back room if you have a group between 6-12 people (assuming it wasn't reserved for another function). Finally, the basement, "Notes", offers a great club space with a very relaxed, sit down, take it easy vibe for the live music and open mic nights, paired with a bar food menu that still delivers the same quality as the main restaurant.Service had some issues early on, and I think they were still figuring out exactly how to present themselves in the first six months or so of operation, but it's mellowed into an excellent product now, with a great selection of farm to table ingredients and a strong focus on showcasing the best of what Central Ohio can provide in terms of food, drinks, and artists. It's a very special place, and I'm hoping it will be a fixture of the city for many years to come. More...

Stopped in for Copious's brunch last weekend.  I appreciate the fact that Copious is (1) open at 10am for brunch and (2) not very busy on weekends, for some reason.  The food was tasty, nothing particularly memorable, but competently prepared and well-sized portions.  The price point is exactly right too, I think.  Copious excels in adding a little spice to their dishes at just the right spot - the house-made fresno chili sauce was killer on the tacos, and their bloody mary has just the right amount of heat.  Service was friendly and attentive.  Highly recommended for groups, quick brunches, etc. More...

Copious might be the new kid on the (Brewery District) block, but I am already so in love with it -- and all the potential it has!First off, I adore the Brewery District. I know I'm not supposed to have favorites, but it truly is my favorite place in the city to play. There's just an easiness about it; it's so comfortable. And Copious is a fantastic fit for the neighborhood.Copious has three parts:1. The main level -- The main level is the dining room and bar, and it looks like an art gallery... because it kind of is an art gallery. There are beautiful white walls filled with rotating local art. I know a lot of places have rotating art, but something is different here... the art is gorgeous, colorful, and affordable! Like, I could actually buy pieces for my house! As a contrast to the white walls, the floors are a beautiful dark wood and the tables are made from reclaimed wood from the original ceiling. Also on the main floor is a private event space where you could host 20-ish people -- perfect for a birthday party or even a corporate lunch (since they have the technology for it).2. The upstairs is a gorgeous ballroom that could fit 200-250 people, with its own bar. This is an event planner's dream.3. The basement is called Notes, and think of it a lot like Brothers Drake. It's dark, more casual, has a music stage, its own bar, and plenty of places to lounge and chat. There are so many things I love about Copious -- I'm going to do a list:+There is PARKING. Like, a whole private lot that's FREE. (hand on forehead, dramatically falls to the floor)+The views! So many great views of the city and the Brewery District.+The food! I almost forgot I was technically reviewing a restaurant (because it's so much more!). I was there in time for the new spring menu, and everything is hyper local. The produce, the meats, the cheeses... even the booze is local. The menu is legit and incredibly well thought out. +The cost is just right lunch, so you won't feel guilty about going out. The brunch and dinner menus also look AH-mazing.+The menu is diverse, so meat folks, vegetarians, and gluten-free people should be happy. It's obvious I love this place, and I know they're going to keep making things better and better. On that note, I hope I can provide some helpful feedback:I believe a restaurant can have delicious, well-prepared food and impeccable service AND still be conversational and casual. Think: The Whitney House or Wolf's Ridge. IMO, Copious should be in that same direction. Right now, the service comes off a bit stiff and TOO formal. For example, don't talk to me like I'm at The Refectory. There's no need for "Helloooo gentlemen, insert more formalities, yada yada yada." Another example would be -- you left me a pitcher of water on the table so I can serve myself. Let me serve myself instead of refilling every single sip I take. I guess my point is, just unclench a little. I promise you can still have high standards -- and you'll get a few more Bryants in there and not just the Suits (no offense at all to the Suits).I hope that was helpful and not gripey? I certainly didn't mean to be gripey. Anyway, I believe in this place and am THRILLED it's here. I cannot wait to see all the great things they do! More...

Went here for a NYE dinner.  Was pleasantly surprised that reservations were still available a week before 12/31, but that's likely because this location is still new.  Loved the food; really I was blown away because I had written off the restaurant as just another "New American" establishment.  The gentleman and I split the crab dip (think deconstructed crab rangoon with fried wonton skins serving as a chip), a beet salad, and the filet mignon with a giant lobster ravioli.  The filet was perfectly cooked--I was so impressed!  Though I would've preferred an actual lobster tail, the ravioli was quite immense and filled with tender meat.  Will definitely be back for food and to check out Notes, the music venue.Service was a bit wonky, but that is understandable because it was NYE.  Examples include receiving a $66 bottle of wine instead of the $27 one I ordered.  But since we drank it all and it was quite good, we didn't ask for an adjustment (and you have to live it up a bit on the last day of the year!). Food was very tasty and I love the atmosphere and menu. The service was a little slow but that's expected when a new restaurant opens up. I can't wait to go here again!

Great atmosphere, breakfast food was delicious- tacos w chorizo, egg, avocado and a homemade hot sauce that was flavorful w serious heat. White cheddar grits were perfectly cooked and the fried green tomatoes were so good they didn't even need a dip. The Eggs Oh'Bryan was a great pairing of corn beef hash and a poached egg w hollandaise. Bloody Mary had garlic and black pepper w a hint of lime, and the coffee was French-pressed Cafe Brioso beans- all so good! And the friendly, knowledge service was the icing on the cake-- we'll definately be back for dinner and more brunch! More...

One of the best restaurants in Columbus. We've been here twice now and were impressed both times.  Both the service and the food are fantastic.  Wagyu Bolognese, Duck Confit Risotto, Pan Fried Chicken, Meatloaf, etc, etc. all worth a visit. More...

Lovely new lounge/restaurant in what has previously been a rather ugly building unoccupied for years.  The restaurant is spacious and well decorated with classy art adorning the walls.  Happy Hour was our first visit and the menu did not disappoint.  $5 well drinks and $6 well martinis coupled with a happy hour app menu that includes crab cakes, Ohio hummus, and an amazing mushroom crostini made me a very happy birthday girl.  Entrees for dinner run on the high side ($14 to $28) but look delectable.  We will be back for sure!  Service from the bar staff was wonderful as well. After the closing of everything from Handke's to Rigsby's, I was afraid that the Columbus food scene was going to die of Cameron Mitchell. Thank god (or Terry Turner) for Copious, which is a wonderful new restaurant in the tradition of the city's best offerings. A couple highlights worth noting. First, the head of house is the sort of old-school maître d' that breathes life into any great restaurant: he's laid back and funny, has encyclopedic knowledge of all the wines (and they have a very good wine list) and food on the menu, and he remembers what you like and can guide you to what's new on the menu that's likely to match what you want.  (Why restaurants hire former cheerleaders as their "hostesses" is beyond me.) Second, they have an actual pastry chef! Probably most people skip dessert these days for the simple reason that dessert--which is the part of the meal that's supposed to leave you grinning from ear to ear--is often fairly boring and not worth either the $ or the calories. At Copious, the desserts are actually awesome, with the blueberry milk cake being one of those that you'll crave for weeks after trying it.  Finally, the rest of the menu has some real knock-outs: we've loved the (almost) Rigsby's-quality mushroom risotto, the unctuous smoked brisket, and an umami-packed butter bean burger that puts another Columbus favorite's veggie burger to shame. If this doesn't become *the* destination restaurant for the German Village area, I'll eat my supply of matches from Lindey's. More...

Special night out for us and wanted to try someplace new.  It's always hard to pick when your don't live close to the city.  We picked this place by yelp and we were not disappointed.  Our server was Jake and he was very knowledgable about the menu and made the evening really good.   Our dinners tonight were excellent and the service way above par.  The food was fresh and prepared perfectly.  Great place to try and will go back again. We went to brunch at Copious today and now I can't wait to go back for dinner. I got the Copious plate which is a pretty basic breakfast but was delicious. I got a chocolate pecan scone on the side that came out warm and was amazing. My boyfriend got the 3 amigos tacos with house made hot sauce on the side. It was HOT but they were so yummy. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Price was on point! Can't wait to go back! More...

Wonderful first experience at Copious last night!  Lovely interior; awesome staff and super knowledgeable servers.  We started with a cocktail at Notes downstairs (smokey scotch cocktail while listening to Jazz? Done).  Food was a bit slow to come out; which the staff apologized for and comped our drinks.  It was worth the wait - seriously delicious scallops and my friend loved the pasta.  Perfect wine pairing suggestions from our server.  Such a great addition to the Brewery District! I'll be back; one of my new favorites. More...

I celebrated my birthday there. It was a Sunday and they were dead so we had the entire restaurant. Staff was friendly and informative. Food was delicious and the chef came out to ask how we like the meal. Food is local and the meatloaf was a crowd pleasure. The price was a little high but not too crazy and you can definitely share a plate. Also wine and cheese/charcuterie were great. Finally great fall dishes and desserts. I would definitely go back and have friends check it out. After living in the village for a while it's nice to go some place different but still local. More...

Excellent food and drinks. The owner has a great vision and actively tries to provide an excellent dining, drinking, and musical experience for his guests. There is also a heavy emphasis on being a good neighbor in the community. The wild mushroom risotto is to die for. More...

Copious (and its subterranean partner NOTES) was a smash hit!  I met a fellow foundation board member at Copious for cocktails before dinner.  The bar area has seating for 20+ persons and is well-appointed.  I sampled scotch while my friend enjoyed a beer (Wiedeman) and that was terrific.   We grabbed a booth near the back where we could talk, over dinner, and things went well.   Food - soup (butter squash & apple) was just terrific; taste and consistency with cooked chunks of squash - yummy.   Our meals were the steak bistro (ordered rare-rare; received medium rare which as fine) and amish chicken with spinach/kale.  Really delicious.  Copious is all tech for ordering and payment; servers using tablets.  Our server seemed a little overwhelmed by payment but it didn't deter from the great food and nice atmosphere.   NOTES was really great.  Larger space than expected in the basement of Copious, the jazz club should do well if Columbus finds its "hipster" culture and Copious/NOTES can deliver on the acts consistently.  Featured was MOJO FLO who really kicks out the great music and vocals.   Lots of friendly stage area seating - nice bar area away from the tones so you could hear yourself talk; even a nice little back area couch room.    I'm recommending you visit Copious.  I'm going back and hope to keep it at 5-STARS. Had a classy early dinner at Copious this evening. We were seated immediately, had a pleasant and attentive waiter, enjoyed an appetizer of Mac and cheese and would go back simply for the Butternut squash soup. We then shared a salad and I loved the brisket with blue cheese cake. The atmosphere is modern, quiet and romantic upstairs and then we were excited to venture downstairs to find a live jazz band playing. This is sure to become a neighborhood gem! More...
