I did self defense in the form of jiu jitsu for my senior project and David, one of the instructors here, was my mentor. He helped me so much not just with my project but taking personal time to help me get better at jiu jitsu. Him and Paul are extremely skilled teachers and create such a good environment for all the students in the class. Going to class is something I looked forward to daily and we learned something new and worked hard every day. A very hospitable group of people; a welcoming culture there for sure. Great workout, great technical instruction by professor David and professor Paul. Colossal Fight Company is—hands down—the best combat sports academy that I have ever trained at. Colossal prides itself in maintaining an atmosphere of safety and mutual respect—which are two of the most important aspects of an academy. One thing that you will quickly discover is that you are not seen as merely a customer, but treated like family—whether you are visiting, just trying it out, or have been attending for years. Colossal is great for men, women, and children of all ages (with the exception that kids must be five or older to begin training). My wife and I have been training steadily now three-to-four times a week for over six months, and absolutely love it. Davy, Paul, and Moses all do phenomenal jobs at instructing, and all of them are wellsprings of knowledge and experience. Another awesome aspect of Colossal is that most places only offer one type of martial art, but Colossal offers both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo, for those who want to cross train. Colossal also offers training six days a week (most places only have two or three), which makes training manageable for even the most hectic of schedules. Whether you are looking for a great workout, fun extracurricular activity for the whole family, practical and functional self-defense, or all of the above, there is no better place than Colossal Fight Company.
