Due to unexpected circumstances, we had to move and move fast. Our realtor told us we had to get touchups on a number of walls in our house. Colorblast came through in a pinch. Amanda was the first to reply and schedule an estimate, first to actually give us an estimate, ended up giving us the best rate, and even fit us in our tight window of time to get the job done.Steve came through and efficiently got through all the work - our walls look just like we hoped. Had the outside of the house painted earlier this year. I got 3 quotes and although Nathan's quote wasn't the cheapest, he did ask the right questions and provided a good breakdown of what was and was not covered. The project was delayed by several months because of the bad weather however once they started the crew were great. Turned up on time and cleaned up their materials. There were a couple of empty cans and water bottles left in a small flower bed but they probably didn't see them because of the plants. They finished on time and I can still say 5 months later I love it. Nathan was also the only person I had quote for some internal painting having been so pleased with the outside.The inside looks great. Fabian was very patient while I decided if I liked the accent color. He filled, textured and painted a small dent in my staircase wall so well that I wouldn't have known it was patched.Fabian always let me know when he was coming and going and how long he was going to be. I hired Colorblast to paint my mother's 1909 Edwardian in Berkeley in 2015 and my gutters and trim on my Queen Anne in Alameda in 2017.  Their craftsmanship and attention to detail are impeccable.  Fabian worked went to great lengths to ensure that the work was nothing less than perfect and that I was happy with it.  If you have a period home, these are the guys you want to go with.  No need to waste money on an outside color consultant either - Colorblast can tell you which combinations work and which ones don't. Colorblast painted my home 3 years ago. There were a few areas where paint was pealing off but the paint job was still under warranty. I contacted Color Blast and they were very responsive and took care of the repair with 3 weeks. Fabian was sent out to make the repairs. He was extremely polite, wanted to do the repairs right, and kept me informed of what he was going to do. The results look so much better now. Nathan just finished painting my house and deck today. He did a fantastic job! He is a true professional. He saw things I did not before we did our final walk through. Everything was perfect! Nathan was the only contractor that would even tackle repairing my trex deck.Nathan's crew, Fabian and Jose worked hard and were very knowledgeable. They were on time each morning and worked steadily throughout the day. They were very clean, too. There were issues with dry rot on the facia boards. Nathan is extremely talented as a carpenter and roofer as well and knew exactly how to fix the problems. I was so relieved. I had a very difficult time selecting the color as the last time I painted my house I wasn't really happy with the color. Nathan had me work with the Sherwin Williams rep to make sure I had made the right color selection and I LOVE THE COLOR!!!! Just so grateful..if you want it done right, call Nathan.PS: upon reading some of the negative reviews I was amazed. Maybe these people just can't be satisfied. Couldn't ask for a better painting experience for the exterior of our house.  Reasonable price quotes from Nathan.  Amanda kept me updated on scheduling changes due to weather etc.  Jose and Hector were absolutely awesome.  Clean, courteous, knowledgable and concerned about painting the house correctly paying attention to all the details.  Completed any requests and corrected a few minor loose board issues without hesitation.  Left job clean and gave daily updates prior to going home.  A great experience compared to others in the past.  Definitely would hire them again. Color Blast fixed our deck. We had our deck stained last year by another contractor who messed it up.  We just were not happy. Nathan came out this year to look at the deck, walked thru what was done wrong and explained our options. Nathan and his team at Colorblast painted our home this month (May 2016). The project took a bit over a week (mostly due to weather).  One of the things I truly appreciated about Colorblast is that they were always communicating with me to ensure I knew the status of the work.Our home had not been painted in around 10 years and the house needed quite a bit of work, including replacing dry rot. Nathan and his team were great - not only did they paint the exterior of the house, but also replaced the dry rot in our exterior stairs and added siding where it was missing on one side of the house.  In addition to painting the exterior of the house, Nathan's team painted our exterior security doors and an adjacent gate - both of which made the house look even better.  Working with Colorblast was also easy. Since I had to head out to work pretty early in the morning, I knew I could always email Nathan and his team to ask questions or provide feedback. I hired Nathan Martinez and his crew to paint my 1910 two story Edwardian in Berkeley. The house is so old some of the wood panels had rotted in the back. Nathan is a skilled carpenter as well as painter and replaced the panels with new wood at a minimum cost. Nathan offers thousands of colors to choose from. We choose a beautiful sage green with a dark green trim. The porch is brilliant dove white. Nathan's crew continually asked my opinion on how the job was going and if the trim was painted exactly how I wanted. Nathan spent 1 day to repair the rotten wood and just 3 days to prime, paint and trim. The total cost of under $5K was much less that other painters who quoted me $10K or more. I hired Colorblast to paint the exterior of a rental house. Nathan was very professional, returning calls and emails. I had 3 estimates and Colorblast was in the middle. They weren't cheap, but sometimes the "cheap" comes out expensive. They discovered dry rot and emailed me the pics and also showed me what would need to be replaced. ColorBlast Painting recently completed painting the exterior of our house in Fremont.  My wife and I were impressed with Juan (jobsite foreman) and Hilberto (fellow worker).  When questions came up about painting details that were not explicitly laid out in the contract, they erred on the side of "customer".  Juan was very accommodating to our daily schedule as well.The overall job done has a very polished look and to our satisfaction.  Note: Even though they lay tarps over the immediate foliage, over spray did manage to get on greenary 10' away, so cover that yourself or ask them to address. I hired this company because others didn't return my call. Nathan returned my call same day I left message. They are on time, three people in the crew, 4 rooms , 8 colors. They are done in three days. I ask for a new color due to my change of mind, called Nathan, and he is on it and worked it out without delay the timeline we set. Nathan and his crew started work on 4/28 9am and completed 5/2 4pm. 1700 sq foot stucco house with wood trim and a large exterior deck. This work included power wash - SERIOUS sanding - replacement of some dry rot deck boards, painting both the house and the deck. They never stopped working. The temperatures were high tht week but they kept going. The house looks fantastic and I'm very happy to have found Color Blast Painting. I completely recommend their service. More...

I do not wish to sound redundant, therefore I will state that I echo the review from Anthony D. I got six bids to paint my recently departed parent's beautiful house built in 1917.   Nathan's bid was significantly cheaper than the others.  I was initially wary about choosing him, because of this.  I do a lot of interior and exterior painting myself and I am definitely a perfectionist who ALWAYS makes sure to prep very well before I paint.  I did not have time to do this house and had to trust the job to another person, which was very difficult for me. .  I have a very keen sense about people, and after interviewing Nathan, I got a strong sense that he knew what he was doing and more importantly, that he had a strong sense of pride in a job well done.  I decided to give him the job and see if (hope) that I was right.I am happy to say that I was right.  Nathan did not cut any corners and the prep was tended to thoroughly.  He even re glazed my 2 old, cracking 12 light windows! Nathan and the Color Blast crew are great!  We hired them to paint the exterior of our house.  After getting several bids, Nathan's bid was not just the lowest bid, but included the most work.  Our paint was in REALLY bad shape and was peeling almost everywhere.  Color Blast scraped and "feather sanded" the house by hand.  They did a wonderful job of smoothing out the rough, peeled areas and the final paint job was better than we had dreamed.  In addition, we had some rotted lattice columns in the front of our house and one was completely rotted.  I hadn't been able to find a matching replacement, so Nathan constructed a new lattice column (by hand) to match the to match the the non rotted section (ti looks great).  Also, they washed and stained our back deck and replaced all the rotten boards that needed to be replaced.  Now the house and the deck look fantastic (and the deck steps are finally safe).I highly recommend Color Blast.  We recently built an detached addition and had them come and paint that as well.  Again, great price and great work! After meeting with two other paint contractors, we decided to hire Color Blast Painting to paint the exterior of our house. Nathan told us exactly what we could expect with his crew. The roof of our house had areas of dry rot along with cracking and peeling paint from the many years of repainting over existing paint so it was quite a job. The gentlemen who worked on our house were Ed and Vance and they did a great job. They answered our questions and quickly took care of some minor issues without hesitation. We hired Color Blast Painting to paint the outside of our home to make it more attractive to sell.  Our home is very old and it needed wood repair as well painting, and we knew that Nathan and his team had these skills.  Nathan, himself, came over immediately after we called Color blast Painting to give us an estimate, which was extremely reasonable.  Color blast started the following Monday, and they were done in three days.   I was most impressed with the prep work that Nathan and his team performed on the house.  I don't think that the house had ever been properly painted since, 1947.  Since Color Blast Painting prepped and painted our home, we receive so many complements from our neighbors, and we received and offer on our house within two weeks after it went on the market.  Nathan and his team were very professional and I would recommend them to anyone. I got bids from Armstrong, Rayco, MB Jesse and Certa Pro painters.Nathan wasnt the cheapest and he wasnt the most expensive. I spent a great deal of time interviewing him and he was able to answer all my questions and explained the process of painting my house and made me feel at ease. He told me he would not be refinishing the house but that he would sand and prepare the really bad areas, especially in the front and sides where the house was most visible. I chose him because he was lead certified and assured me he would maintain a meticulous job site, use Benjamin Moore Aura paint, and he had experience with my type of project.The house came out looking beautiful. There were a few issues, but Nathan has done his best to try and get everything resolved and I appreciate what he has done.I believe he cares a lot about what he does and that he is also a hard worker and a talented painter. I hired Nathan to refinish my bathroom/kitchen cabinets. Original finish was lacquer and it was wearing out - very unevenly, parts looked like new parts looked horrible. Nathan caught my attention among other bidders - his bid was very competitive but most importantly he suggested some innovative method. During the job it turns out the final look would be sufficient for bathrooms but we wanted something even better in the kitchen. Nathan again showed flexibility and ability to work around problems. Nathan did a great job when painting the interior of our house.  We have a 2000 sq. ft. house and on the first day, he brought himself and 2 others with him.  They were very professional and extremely helpful.  Even though I wasn't able to get all the furniture moved out of some rooms, they moved everything to the middle and worked around it.There are some minor details that needed to be touched up after everything was put back and the paint dried.  But this is to be expected and Nathan came over himself to take care of these issues.Overall, we are very happy with the paint job and would recommend Nathan to anyone looking for a professional painter. I selected Color Blast Painting to paint the interior of the house I purchased this month. I actually selected them because their office in only one block from my house, and I felt they would be motivated to do a good job in that regard. The owner, Nathan Martinez, does the estimating himself. He sets realistic expectation about what to expect, and he picked up on the fact that our house had some oil base paint. This required a special primer, which was critical to getting the paint job correct. we also had 4 different wall colors! They offered a fair price, and showed up exactly on time the first day of work. this was a plus. They subsequently arrived every day when scheduled, and communicated pretty well throughout the project. After our hardwood floors were refinished, they came back on the last day and attended to all the details, finishing strong. I'm fairly picky, and wouldn't call the work "perfect", but when I step back and take an overall look, it's pretty darn good. I will be having the same company paint the exterior of the house soon. We hired Nathan and his team to take down our popcorn ceilings, texture, and paint in our new place in Walnut Creek.  They did a fantastic job!  They were on time, efficient, and thorough removing and replacing the light fixtures and any window treatments that were still up.  They did such a good job we had them come back to paint the whole interior of the house.  Nathan was so flexible too - I texted him that morning to change some of the colors and he was on it.  Five stars and they will be returning to tackle that ugly wallpaper in our bathroom :)  Thanks again Colorblast!
