If you are looking for a place to host your event, Central Studio is excellent! The rental prices are affordable and they have an open catering, decor, and drinks policy. I held a surprise birthday party for my dad recently and it couldn't have run any smoother! Abbie is very easy to work with and very responsive. They had everything we needed to build our party! Our daughter has been taking dance here for three years now. The entire team of teachers are great! Paige, the young children's teacher, is truly phenomenal with them. She has so much patience, and has instilled a love of dance within our daughter. I have also taken some fitness classes (Pound and now Pilates). I love that they get to know you, your body, and your needs. Fantastic studio, all the way around! More...

After the class I went to watch the regulars dance. The regulars were such strong dancers, and honestly, I felt privileged to take in a glimpse of this dancing culture that is so elegant and yet so foreign to me.

This studio is right next to my house and the funny thing is that I had been completely unaware of its existence until a friend of mine (who actually lives in St. Charles!) told me about dance classes there. They offer various fitness and dance classes, and the instructors are great. I started first with attending ballet, since I had always wanted to try it, but very soon I realized that it was not my thing and I switched to salsa. Carlos Reyes, who is the owner of Mambo Revolution and a salsa/bachata/cha cha instructor, gives lessons there multiples times a week, and they are amazing! It would not be an exaggeration to say that I found my hobby! And they also have social events once a month. The thing which seemed inconvenient for me at Central Studio was that you need to buy a monthly pass and if you are out of town and can't attend some classes, then they "disappear". With Mambo Revolution it is different - you buy a pass for 4 classes and you can attend whenever you want. This is way more convenient for me with my busy way of live. More...

The instructors are always friendly and professional, and they try to cater each class to the students' needs and interests. The studio offers a generous sampling of classes for both kids and adults, which is something you don't find at most dance studios. The teachers are both talented dancers and good instructors (qualities that don't always go hand in hand) and the atmosphere is really welcoming and supportive. I flailed around for the first few months and was never once made to feel embarrassed or hopeless. On top of the adult dance classes, I can also recommend Saturday morning's Central Conditioning, which is one of the hardest workouts in town.Update: I just started taking pilates here, after a few years over at Yoga-Pilates in Hi-Pointe, and the instructors at Central Studio are far and away the best I've ever had. I love Thursday-night adult tap with Audrey!  She's a phenomenal dancer and choreographer, who strikes a balance between technique-based exercises, challenging combinations, and time for practicing crazy, new tricks. I've tried both the intermediate and advanced classes and enjoyed both, but I definitely prefer the speed of the advanced class.  The intermediate class does many if not most of the same steps/skills/combos, but it seems to draw a steadier stream of new (but experienced) students, necessitating a lot of review and a much slower pace, so go with whatever pace feels right for you.The dance spaces themselves are a bit odd and don't seem conducive to having more than a handful of students in a given class at any one time, but that hasn't presented a problem so far. Finally, with the rising cost of weekly boutique dance and fitness classes (i.e., outside of a monthly gym membership), the prices at Central Studio are super-reasonable, maybe even a bargain. I came here with a one-month unlimited Groupon to try out the fitness classes. I would highly recommend doing so, if you want to look into the studio. Zumba is one of the most popular fitness classes here. High energy and a lot of fun. I've never taken a Zumba class before, but I still had a lot of fun. You're thinking a lot about what to do and what the movement pattern is, so you'll forget how tired you are. Definitely a great cardio class. Highly recommended!Meridian stretch is a great class for flexibility training. If you're an office worker hunched over a computer most days, this is the class for you. The instructor does well at adjusting the movement for you if you need it. The class size is small, so you'll definitely get the attention you need! Mat Pilates is a good class for strengthening. Exercises change every week, so you won't get the same, boring routine every time you come. Here, class size is also small. Also, as a beginner to Pilates, I didn't find anything too confusing and was able to push my body without feeling too out of place. The instructor will correct you if needed, of course.Prices are reasonable even without a Groupon. I would have enrolled if I didn't move out of state for my career. I've taken dance and fitness courses at another studio and quit because they raised prices too much for my taste. The prices at Central Studio are even lower than the prices at the studio I went to when I first started taking classes there! A++ More...

The owner Arica taught most of the classes I took. She was amazing, outgoing and super clear with her instructions (and boy can she move on that floor)! The classes always started on time; sign-up and scheduling/checking in was easy and organized; other students are friendly. There are resident dancers participating in a lot of the classes but no need to feel threatened or embarrassed just because your body doesn't twist and turn the same graceful ways. I always got a fantastic workout at end of all my hourly sessions. I can't recommend this studio enough. This is an awesome dance/pilates studio with great instructors. They really work with you, they're flexible and affordable compared to most dance studios, and they offer a wide variety of classes for adults and kids - zumba, jazz, tap, ballet, pilates, contemporary, and even a stretching class - among others. You can buy a punch card to take any class you want without committing to a schedule, which is great when your life is unpredictable. The instructors honestly care about creating a good class experience, and helping each person individually. And the energy there is amazing! Everyone is super friendly and sweet and happy to see you when you walk through the door.I have observed one of the teachers with her group of children and she always does a great job teaching, but she also sometimes sits them down and talks to them about the importance of dedication and doing proper technique. This is not just some money-making studio out to churn out performances and competitions. This is a real studio with a goal of really sharing a love of dance. Adult classes are welcoming and no-pressure. You go at your own pace and ability level. I've taken lots of adult dance classes and I know when a teacher knows her stuff or not. These teachers pay attention, make gentle corrections, and foster a positive experience for all ages, all levels. They're very approachable. If you have a concern or something you want to work on specifically, they will work with you to help you get what you want out of the class. They have guest artists come in sometimes for master classes, and they really promote the other area dance companies; they're truly a dedicated part of the St. Louis dance community. The studio space is small-ish, but bigger than it looks from the street, always clean and nicely organized. They have water and snacks available, a lovely changing room with towels and lockers, and a little comfy waiting area with a library of books on dancing. I've never taken pilates there, but the instructor seems very competent. Parking is usually street parking, and there's a lot behind it, around the corner. I started going there with a groupon and as soon as I can set out some time I'm going to start going back again for more classes. More...
