My grandmother Hazel was a maid for a family on Staten Island. She did great work keeping their home cleaned, and ours. I often remember her sitting at the ironing board on Saturday's, ironing her boss's button down shirts while watching Night Rider on TV. She would work for her employer every holiday, sacrificing time with her own family.
