We used Carl for our wedding in May 2018. I researched other DJ's extensively because I am the type of person that has to make sure I choose the best option out there. And I know I definitely did! He had the best price and best package. He was very professional and very organized. I love the online planner on his website which was extremely helpful in planning our wedding. Carl worked very well with our other vendors in making sure the night ran smoothly. We had a friend play ukulele during our ceremony and Carl hooked him up, along with our minister, with mics and coordinated everything smoothly with them. My husband and I are not comfortable being the center of attention so we were nervous for our first dances. Carl was fantastic from start to finish! We met up with him over a year ahead of time. He showed up with a binder listing every conceivable type of ceremony and even had forms for same-sex weddings even though I didn't even mention we were two brides . His website ceremony planner helped us to stay organized and ahead of the game for many aspects of the wedding, not just the music. He was far more affordably priced than a lot of other DJs we looked into, A week ahead of the wedding we met to go other pronunciation of names, get an idea of the ceremony, and to go over uplighting (we went his recommendations on everything and it looked great)! Great music order, great price, listened to what we wanted, HIGHLY recommended!!

We hired Carl from City Street DJs for our wedding and it was such a great decision! We met with Carl first about a year before our wedding, then again about 3 weeks before the wedding. His website was easy to use, he was prompt in responding to our messages, and he did a fantastic job at the wedding! Having great dance music at the wedding was something that was very important to me, and I worked very hard on putting the playlist together. He started the night taking requests, and when I realized that was what was happening, I had my wedding planner ask him to stop and he did. He was very attentive to the crowd and would play slow songs when people started to get tired. We also did father-daughter/mother-son dances but where we wanted everyone to dance as well, and when people didn't react the first time to him telling them to get on the dance floor, he said it again to make sure people got up because he knew it was important to us to have everyone dance to those songs.

Carl also did the music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and played exactly what we asked for perfectly. He also did the uplighting for our reception which really took it up a notch!

Overall, Carl was absolutely amazing and I am so happy we hired him. To anyone that wants a huge dance party at their event, City Street DJs is absolutely the way to go!

Carl with City Street DJ was amazing from the start to finish! He worked really hard to be accommodating for my now husband and I. First meeting, before we had even hired him, he came to city to meet with us. Which is huge, since people from the city hate leaving the city! Haha! He is super personable, has a great sense of humor, and overall very open to give the bride and groom free rein on the “feel” of the reception. Carl made it a point to get to know us as a couple, and make sure we were on the same page when it came to all the events of the day. Something that was AWESOME was that Carl was our music person for the ceremony, cocktail hour, AND reception. It was great to only have to coordinate with him for all the events of the day. We hired Carl of City Street's DJs for our wedding this past June. I was a little ahead of the game and booked Carl right away, almost a year and a half in advance. I was one of those super planner brides. We met with Carl at a local Starbucks and proceeded to tell him our vision of our big day. He was very organized and professional, but also warm and all around a nice person. We decided to book him right away (after meeting with other DJs in the Chicago area) and he set us up with an online portal to help us manage the music we wanted played and to tell him about songs that were not to be played under any circumstances. Carl was always available by email any time we had a question and met with us two additional times before the wedding. I was planning our wedding from NH, and I was in town for a funeral in April, and Carl was able to set up a meeting within a couple miles from my house (otherwise we would not have been able to meet until the wedding in October. ) We Skyped with him beforehand and he is very friendly. Carl was the best of the best. We had high expectations and met with several deejays before we made our decision, and boy did we choose well.

From our first meeting until the last song was played Carl was organized, meticulous, energetic, full of ideas, and really helped us to cover all the bases. Carl met with us face to face initially, met us again at the venue we were holding the party in so he knew what to expect, and then touched base with us the week of the wedding for any last minute details.

He also helped keep us on schedule as much as possible throughout the night. He kept the party going all night - the dance floor was literally full every minute. He handled guests who came up to him with requests and questions with poise and patience, and there were several times I looked over and he was rocking out himself. There's no one better to work with than someone who really likes his job!

I wanted to mention that we ended up having a very tight amount of time to setup as there was a group in the ballroom before our wedding. You never would have known it and we didn't have an easy setup. Carl had everything in its place: The uplights throughout the ballroom were setup perfectly, the deejay table was ready to go (and looking really sharp), the list goes on.

It's also worth mentioning that we didn't give Carl a tremendous amount of guidance in the music we wanted played. This gave me slight anxiety but my fiancé insisted that we needed to give him some creative license and trust him to do his job. I'm so glad we did. With the exception of a few suggestions and requests Carl had the flexibility to read the crowd and play what worked...and it really worked!

Do yourself a favor and book Carl for your wedding or event. He is the full package. I would hire Carl again and again. Thank you City Street DJ's and Event Lighting for all you did to make our wedding reception one we'll never forget! More...

We would absolutely recommend Carl to anyone. We planned a wedding from out of state and couldn't meet with him before the wedding, but he made himself available as much as possible, responded to emails quickly, and guided us through the planning process. He really went above and beyond making planning easier for us and keeping the dance floor moving until the end. We were so surprised and happy with the crowd that turned out to dance, and I'm sure it was due to the balance he managed to strike between our (many) song requests and music that would keep everyone involved, from our 20-something friends to our parents and grandparents.

Carl was also flexible with last-minute changes that we threw at him, like needing to add a bouquet toss when we thought we wouldn't have one. He stepped up to help direct photos and other events, which was really a life-saver. We hired Carl to DJ at our wedding. From the very beginning he was prompt at responding to emails. He would get back to me later in the day after I sent the email or the following day. When we met with him for the first time he gave us this giant binder filled with any song you can imagine for your wedding along with other information he would need to know for the wedding. That binder became my “Wedding binder” and kept everything wedding related so organized. We were able to give him an edited version of our first dance along with songs to not play at the wedding. His website is so organized and makes it real easy to pick your playlist for your wedding. City Street DJ was absolutely amazing! Let me start by saying I contacted at least a dozen different DJs and Carl was the ONLY one who insisted on meeting us in person. All of the other ones were only willing to set up telephone appointments. This was an immediate indication of the care and attention to detail he puts into his business. When we met Carl, he made sure it was at a location and time that was convenient for us and was there and all set up with all of his presentation (very professional) upon our arrival.
All through the wedding planning, any time we had questions, he was timely and courteous with his responses and extremely accommodating. He supplied plenty of resources in addition to his online planner. Two weeks before our wedding he sat down with us again to go over the finalized plans. Again, he came prepared with a print out of everything we had input on the online planner. We arrived early (met at a Starbuck's) thinking we would get a coffee and not make him wait... but he was already there! His attention to detail made him the ONLY vendor that had everything perfectly planned ahead of time and didn't hound us with questions the day of.
The music was perfect! He played specifically themed songs we had chosen for cocktail hour and dinner. When we told our cousin who was getting married a few weeks later, he said that their DJ said he would not do that for them. Carl kept everyone engaged and dancing and accommodated impromptu speech requests from my Dad and nephew. THE BEST DJ I've seen in a long time! Carl was the DJ for my wedding and I could not be happier with him. One thing we loved about Carl is his set-up did not advertise his company! His set-up is chic and up-to-date!

From the time he arrived to the minute he left, he was organized, helpful and kept the party going. He helped all the vendors, parents and wedding party get organized and ready for the day. He was always on top of every "event"; cocktail hour music, first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, introductions! There was not one second, literally not one second, the dance floor was not full; everyone danced the entire night! There were even guests from another wedding at the venue (another wedding in another room) who stopped by and told my guests that my party was much better than the wedding they were at!

DJ Carl is the best! He made our reception super fun and interactive. I planned my wedding in Chicago from Virginia so I was not able to meet up with Carl until the Wednesday before the wedding. Carl came to the meeting with my then-fiance and I totally prepared. He had a binder with print-outs of the music selection, the wedding party names, everything! We went through each name in detail so he could make sure the pronunciation is correct. We went through the order of the ceremony music, the wedding party introduction dance to the reception, the order of the speeches. He was so prepared and on-top of things.

Carl was also super responsive to my emails and calls. He responded to me immediately or the next day. It was such a relief to have responsive vendors when you are planning your wedding from afar.

Carl was the perfect emcee for our reception. He introduced the speakers one by one so they could come up and speak. He introduced us for the cake cutting, the first dance, etc. We wanted him to be interactive and he did everything to perfection.

We also got him to play our wedding slideshow and when the slideshow didn't work in the beginning, he kept on trying until it worked.

Carl was Great!! From the beginning, he was so easy to talk to and was so great at responding back to me and setting up a meeting time as soon as possible. He is such a talented DJ and not only that, he is basically acts as day of coordinator. Once I heard of City Dtreets DJs, I was amazed at the price. That alone was my biggest deciding factor to have them DJ for my wedding as they had the lowest prices by far compared to so many other DJs in Chicago. I also appreciated how Carl was willing to drive out to meet my finance and me for our initial meeting and again before the wedding; he made that process very easy for us as many other places required us to go to them. At the wedding, Carl looked and acted professional. He was good at playing songs the crowd liked and kept them dancing.

My only complaints are that Carl was less responsive after the wedding when there were still some matters to be taken care of, although this should not take away from the overall service we had at the wedding. Carl Lojeski is THE MAN. He DJed my wedding and everything from our first meeting to keeping in touch in between to the wedding was FANTASTIC. Carl is a really nice guy and extremely accommodating. Carl was an amazing DJ. To begin, he was extremely professional in the planning for the wedding. He was always 15 minutes early. Meeting with him gave us great comfort that we were in good hands. My now-wife and I knew that one of the biggest parts of our wedding had to be the music and the dancing....we love to dance, our friends and family love to dance, and we wanted to make sure that everyone was on the dance floor the entire time.
