Great take-out service. I called in my order and it was ready within 15 minutes. The cafe is complete with baked goods, outdoor and indoor seating available. Plenty of parking and a popular local spot. If you have a sweet craving they do offer gluten free baked goods and mini cakes if you really want to indulge on your cheat day. A solid place to check out for sure! More...

Nice little restaurant and shop, but very crowded. They crammed a lot of tables in a small space. The restaurant is in an industrial area. The outside looks like a warehouse. Inside is nice, though. Employees are super friendly.Food was okay, but baked goods are awesome. I got a salmon salad, which was delicious. DH got a pulled pork sandwich, which was okay, but a tad dry, probably because we asked for sauce on the side. Good thing we did, 'cause it got some heat! Rosemary fries were also a tad dry. It was busy and took a while for the food to come out. You can watch the "behind the scenes" action behind large glass windows, but there weren't a lot of people back there. The coffee drinks were okay, but not as strong as I'd like. We tried a bear claw pastry stuffed with apple filling. It was awesome. Unfortunately, they were sold out of chocolate croissants by lunchtime.Overall, a good hidden lunch spot. Not super fancy, but a notch up from regular dining. Don't skip dessert! More...

Glad I was finally able to try this place out. Came here for breakfast this morning and I was not disappointed. I will definitely add this to my breakfast list. I ordered the French toast and my husband ordered the huevos rancheros. Both were good. I actually enjoyed his dish more than mine. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more dishes and pastries! More...

The first time I dined at Chocolate Maven my husband and I enjoyed this during Valentines Day for brunch. The place was full of energy and packed to the brim. The location is small so if you are dining on a holiday and you want a more intimate experience then this might be hard with this style of restaurant. Otherwise if you like a lot of energy and enjoy a bumping place full of excitement then I think you should select this for your special day/night out.The desserts are what the place is known for and often times when I am invited to a special event where I need to bring an item, if someone selects an item from Chocolate Maven it is often the most talked about dish. I would recommend this place for your next special event. More...

A definite must for food or/and dessert. We were just traveling through on a road trip and happened to come across this place. Don't let the fact that it's in an industrial building with a second hand store fool you. Inside was a wonderful bakery, coffee shop, and big glass windows looking into the bakery itself. They've won first place in Santa Fe 10 years in a row, ...for a reason. Our salads were great, sandwiches around us looked super, and our dessert, sublime. They have high tea as well. A must if your in the area. More...

The name of this lovely bakery is a misnomer - they are SO much more than a chocolate shop.  They are a fine bakery / casual restaurant with a well earned HUGE following.  I didn't notice the first visit (too focused on the AMAZING bakery items and gracious customer service) - but in the sit down restaurant side - they have an "open concept" kitchen where you can watch the bakers create their masterpieces (and whisper admiring/appreciative "I love you's" through the window).  The cinnamon buns are NOT to be missed!!  Treats are half price at the end of the day.  Go NOW! I'd give Chocolate Maven ten stars if I could!! If you're in Santa Fe and like delicious food, fresh bread, sweet treats, watching bakers do their thing or any combination of these, get yourself to Chocolate Maven right now! I was in Santa Fe for a week and visited twice for a meal and once additionally to pick up some bakery items to bring home with me. Both times, I was seated in the small dining room that has a glass wall where you can look into the bakery and watch the bakers (artists!) work on their creations. I loved being able to watch them make everything and then see it come out to the dining area. Talk about fresh! The first time I went, I had the chicken avocado wrap with their garlic rosemary fries. I cannot describe to you how good this was. The wrap was made fresh and you could tell because it was still warm and soft, which made the wrap a million times better. The fries were crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and seasoned perfectly. Plus, the portion was huge and I was able to make it into two meals. The second time I visited, I went for brunch and had the chilaquiles. They were super filling, but I didn't find them quite as flavorful as I did my wrap. I also ordered one blue corn blueberry pancake on the side because I wanted to try it since it's a unique menu item. I'm glad I tried it, but I found it very dry (it's gluten free) and there were no blueberries in the pancake, only four of five sprinkles on top of the pancake. My advice: skip these pancakes. As far as bakery items go, I had a regular croissant, chocolate croissant, and the chocolate shortbread cookies. Both of the croissants were perfectly flaky, buttery, and soft on the inside. The plain one would be perfect for a sandwich, which I know they do in the restaurant. The chocolate croissant rocked my world... seriously. I miss it. Same with the chocolate shortbread cookies in their store. Yum!! I brought them home in my carry on and rationed them out over the following week, which felt very dramatic but also very appropriate. Bottom line: get yourself to Chocolate Maven! This is definitely one of the best finds in Santa Fe. The food and the atmosphere lend themselves to a great time and a delicious meal. I can't wait to go back!! More...

This place is a must! You might not guess it from outside, but it's pretty posh inside. When you pull in, it's in a warehouse style building next to a restore kind of shop. I expected the food to be average since it's more of a bakery, but it was outstanding, from the main plate to the dessert to the ambiance and excellent service. If you dine in, you can have a view of the bakery, as there is a glass wall between the dining area and the pastry kitchen. It's pretty neat to see.For the main, I ordered the chicken crepes. I opted for something on the more savory side, so I would still want dessert afterwards. They were really tasty and a perfect portion size. Next up, I ordered one of the few non-chocolate dessert items on the menu -  the almond pear tart with raspberry sauce. It was divine and not overly sweet, just buttery and fruity. They were also incredibly generous with the whipped cream. I don't even put that much on my pumpkin pie at thanksgiving! More...

Really this 3.5. The ambiance is great, and for the most part the brunch menu is on point. The bacon though, a key part of any brunch is terrible, steer clear of this item. The bacon at any fast food restaurant is better. Now if you like see through bacon with limited flavor then this is your spot! The rest of the food was very good. I had the huevos Rancheros over easy and it was perfect. Some of the best corn tortillas I've ever had. The pastries from the self serve pantry are always on point. Over all, if you're in Santa Fe it's worth the stop. Just need to up the bacon game. More...
