Great food and terrific service. Carlos did an amazing job. Highly recommend their catering and the tamales are so tasty.
Their food is amazing! I had to get seconds of everything I tried. I had the asada street tacos and cilantro lime rice. Everyone was complimenting the delicious food. More...
I used Chilito's as my caterer for a baby shower I gave yesterday at my home. Carlos arrived and after we decided the best location to set up the buffet station, he got to work! He was up and ready, on time, and the presentation looked great!! My guests were very impressed! Carlos even had a griddle set up to warm the tortillas as we came through the line. He was so friendly and chatted with all of my guests as he filled their plates. The FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! Most of our guests were not local and they were RAVING about the food. I ordered the El Popular and boy, is it aptly named! We had steak and chicken street tacos, all flavors of tamales (cream cheese jalapeno are my FAVE), rice, beans, guacamole cilantro, onions, chips and the FAMOUS Kika's sauce! People were going back for seconds and THIRDS! I was so excited that we had some leftovers, which Carlos packed up nicely for me! I HIGHLY recommend Chilito's for your next event or just dinner!!! Great job Carlos and Al(owner)!Remove review More...
Carlos from Chilito's catered my cousin's baby shower yesterday and the food & service was amazing! We had the street tacos and tamales (all different flavors) and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Their service was great, as well! I will definitely use them again in the future. I know the owner and the food is a labor of love. You gotta try the cubano sandwich, its my go to order. His tamales are uniquely tastey. When you eat here you're supporting a local business and a local family. You have to try the food it's delicious and you won't be disappointed. The owner and his wife are usually the ones cooking and it's delicious More...
Best tamales in San Antonio!
Chilito's is a small place with some great food. The pork tacos are filled with great tasting pork, never dry. Their Kika sauce is really good, I'm on my 3rd bottle of it at home.
Very friendly staff. Food is excellent I recommend the tamales. The food is a little pricey and you can definitely find cheaper. The flavor is all it's own very delicious. More...
Great food! Top 5 in San Antonio
Love their tamales!! Best in town
Quick service and great food
Tamales and kiko sauce to go, please. Ordered frozen to bring back to Vermont. Great options and easy to order online.
Kiki's sauce is the best!
Food was really good.. Number 5 which is a burrito meat lover with mild sauce and regular fries Don't forget the mexican coke..
Absolutely delicious!I love the food from this place! I've eaten half the items on the menu and everything is absolutely delicious. My favorites are the Famous Bowl and the Worst Burrito with the Spicy Kika's sauce! Fast and fresh! Staff is always friendly! More...
This place is amazing!!! Really good unique food. And that sauce oh my goodness!
Order catering from chilitos often. Wonderful and friendly staff and the food is awesome!
Love this place. Great food at a great value. And
Great taste. Loved the tamales came with cream already and the bowl with sweet potato fries is delicious, definitely recommend .
I wanted to give HUGE praise to Chilito’s. I threw a last minute get together for Billys birthday last week. Chilitos popped into mind. I have only had their FAB tamales. I figured if the rest was as good as those, I will score. Al made it happen for me! ...and I ordered the “#1 el popular”. SO EASY. I named the drop off time and he delivered it piping hot and settled it to keep warm. GENEROUS portions. ALL of it was Fantastic! HIGHLY RECOMMEND More...
This little food truck has the most craveable food around!! You will literally CRAVE the food with that SAUCE! Simply amazing!
The location in San Antonio on Babcock is friendly and the food is amazing...I'm a frequent flyer. Love the cream cheese and jalapeño tamales best

Probably my favorite place to eat in San Antonio. Super nice owner, and excellent food.
This is a great place to grab a bite to eat. Some of my favorites are their veggie bowls and jalapeño cream cheese tamales. The rice & beans are also great. They also offer a rewards card and after so many visits, you get $5 off. The sauce they have is good and available at HEB. More...
Their tamales and sandwiches are excellent
The tacos here are always hot and fresh! It's a nice grab n go without some much guilt. It's nice not to go to a franchise every once in a while. They have a rewards card so be sure to ask for it! The tacos are over $3 but worth it! More...
Four and a half well deserved! This could easily be the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had ! Also try a bowl, you won't be disappointed!
This little place is located on the corner of Huebner and Babcock. We tried a sampler plate that had quesadillas, tacos, tamales and rice and beans. It was about $15, and we figured we could try a little bit of everything. Let's start with the tamales. These were unique in that they had cream cheese and jalepeno, they were okay. I guess I am a bit of a purist, because I like my tamales with pork meat. The quesadillas were full of meat and cheese, crisped up and very tasty. The tacos al pastor were okay, but lacked some of that spicy flavor I look for. The rice and beans were my least favorite, because they were combined in a cup. I would try this place again and try something else. I really want to see what else they've got. More...

Just had a chance to try this place out being from E.P. and having the tamales and tacos these are top notch highly recommend!!!
This has been our favorite place for awhile now we come here at least twice a week lol. Amazing food, fast and friendly service. The famous bowl is a must! We like ours with regular fries and carne asada meat. More...
It took me a very long time to try this place because it's pretty out of the way for me but it's so worth it. I got the tamale plate which comes with 4 tamales and a LOT of rice and beans. First the tamales are soft and at the perfect ratio of masa to fillings. They are not big but I grew up eating them like that so that wasn't a big deal for me as it's been in other reviews. The rice and beans have great flavor and texture. With the quality and quantity definitely worth the price. I also got the Cuban sandwich plate which is good but nothing out of this world. Next time I'd repeat the tamale plate but could hold off a few trips to have the sandwich again. This place is worth driving the 13 miles out of the way I did. More...
One of the best steak and cheese sandwiches I've ever had. The wait is a little long and the drive thru is cumbersome. Definitely order ahead and you won't be disappointed. The flavors are on point!
Another in the growing list of cool little places to eat in San Antonio with its own unique flavor profile. Chilitos Express has a pretty decent variety of stuff in its tasty menu. The best by far has to be their Chilitos "Kika's" sauce. This stuff is no joke and it is now even being sold at HEB. I bought a bottle and have almost finished it in only a week. Their Meat livers taco is amazing, the rice is different, but good. Also, I genuinely feel that their tamales belong among the top 3 best in San Antonio, but they are a little pricey compared to other offerings in town. Their location is easy to find, but tricky to access in traffic. Expect to wait a good while if there is more than one car because the place is TINY and drive through only. These last few items cost a star, but should not reflect the food, which is great. More...
Jalapeño and cream cheese tamales are bomb. Tamales are small, but the jalapeño/ cream cheese are worth it. Try the green salsa- also super good.
I'm upset that it took me so long to finally try Chilito's but I'm glad I finally did. Service is always friendly and the food is always made fresh to order (not to mention delicious). Al, the wonderful owner of this place, is great! He really goes out of his way to give you exactly what you're looking for in his dishes. The street tacos will deceive you as you may think they're small but they really fill you! And although I've tried a few of their offerings, I have to say that I think my favorite dish from here is the Chilito Famous Bowl with asada. It's a hearty meal with savory steak, beans, rice, mixed in with some sweet potato fries, and topped with kika sauce (regular or spicy, your choice but I prefer spicy). My partner in crime will usually share this as it's definitely a lot! Add some Mexican coke and I'm a happy girl. :) More...
Amazing!!! So full of flavor and just the right amount of spice. The beef was super tender. I couldn't eat it all but I tried my hardest! I'll definitely be back!!!!
The food is great!!Don't ever call, they never answer, but if they answer get ready to be put on hold and get forgotten...
Some of the best tamales I have ever eaten in my life. Those chicken and cream cheese tamales were the business!!! I plan on driving back to San Antonio to pick 5 dozens up
I love this place!!!! My friend picked some up on the way over and I had the sampler plate and she ordered the street tacos. Everything was so good!!!! I loved the lime flavor throughout everything. Also the cilantro lime rice and the chicken cream cheese tamales are our new favorites!! More...
Yummy food. I got the bowl with chicken. But be careful when you're leaving. Very easy to damage your car.
Chilito's catered our son's wedding shower at our home and we were beyond satisfied and delighted with the quality and taste of the food as well as Al and his very personable staff. We served street tacos, tamales, beans and cilantro lime rice with pico, guacamole and queso too. Many of our guests raved about the food, but also commented as to the friendliness of the staff. They also provided bottles of their spicy sauce to send home with guests as a party favor. Chilito's is a great idea for your holiday party needs and I am thankful to have them as an option for the future. More...
Food is great and affordable. Portion is especially great for the price. Definitely recommended!
Abe & I loved it!! We were very impressed with Al's service. The food & quality for our wedding rehersal dinner & after wedding party was perfect. We created our own menu & it was a hit! The servings were the perfect combination & filling! I totally recommend his catering service & drive thru express off Huebner. Al was a pleasure to work with. More...
Absolutely love their tamales and the beans and rice are also delicious. The spicy chicken are fantastic. Best part is that it's a drive through! Owners are really nice. Will definitely bring going back soon! More...
Really good food. I got the platter so I could sample a bit of everything and it did not disappoint. Next time I will get an extra side of rice and beans because they are the best rice and beans I think I have ever eaten. Seriously amazing.
Was our first time here and man the food is awesome. Tamales and street tacos were amazing as well as the rice n beans. The guy who took our order was really nice and we will def be back!
Wow ... this place was great! I thought we were going to the corner for tacos and instead we stumbled onto some really amazing food. We had cream cheese chicken tamales and roasted pork tacos. The pork was very flavorful and tender; flour tortillas may be the best in town; and the tamales were perfect. The menu also has an El Cubano ... may have to go back for lunch tomorrow! More...
Holy cow. LEGIT food. We were looking for somewhere to sit, this is just drive-through, but we decided to give it a try because of the great reviews. So glad we did! Excellent food.
This place is awesome! I randomly found this place while I was in the area. We got street tacos and tamale plate. The pastor tacos are delicious and the salsa is bomb. The tried all of the tamales on the menu but the pork were my favorite by far. They're all still worth a try though! As good as all the main items were, the rice and beans were the star of the meal. So good - I finished everything and that rarely happens. More...
I'm going to first start off with their Tamales, they were amazing. I never would have expected the combinations to work they way they did but they worked and worked spectacularly. Next the street tacos w/ steak, they were very good certainly up there with the better street tacos in the city that I've tried. Their spicy sauce was also extremely delicious I definitely need to get a bottle of that. And the finale was the burrito, this thing is a monster. The chef told me this burrito weighs in at a pound and a half, that's a lot of food lol, but it was very delicious and I may or may not have eaten all of it. It's not your normal burrito, this one includes fries inside as well as beans, rice, and meat, and is grilled to an almost crispy shell. It was very tasty and I would definitely order it again. The customer service was also top notch. All in all deceiving looking drive thru produced some extremely tasty food which I highly recommend checking out if you haven't already. More...
Coming from the West Coast, I've found it hard to find some Mexican food that is similar to how it is back home. Many of the Tex-Mex food seems to lack flavor and compensated by drowning the food in sauce and cheese.Chilitos is the closest I've come to a truly satisfying Mexican food experience. The establishment seems very low-key compared to other nearby establishments but they've definitely made their food with more authentic ingredients. For what you pay, you get a lot of food and the service was quick and friendly. I'd definitely come back again! More...
Omg im in heaven havent found a decent burrito that is not smothered in sauce to give flavor and the quesadillas are bomb even the pork tamales are amazing and the mild sauce is delish definitely a satisfied customer
Love this place! Their chicken and cheese tamales are delish and so are their mini tacos. Def recommend! You have to order ahead of time for delivery or drive through pick up. They have a loyalty card and great customer service! More...
Food was great, price was right, did not dissappoint!
Food is good. First time having Peruvian food.
Chilito's is an EXCELLENT option that changes up the normal go-to places & support local! Their bowl with Peruvian pork & spicy sauce (medium spice) tastes much better than any bowl you could get at chipotle, and their Street Tacos with rice/beans mix is also a great. The Huebner/Medical Center location is drive-thru and wait time is not much, making this a much healthier and tastier option than any fast food. This Latin/Peruvian fusion place is an amazing choice if you're looking to change up the traditional mexican food/tacos that predominate around San Antonio! More...
Great food. Been here 3 times and its been great every time. Taco pictured is called "worst taco" with pork. Good size very filling. And the cream cheese tamales are great with a good kick for the jalapeños version. And the staff have also been fantastic every time. More...
Been there countless times!! The food is amazing!! Definitely a hidden gym in the city! Tried almost everything on the menu and have found nothing I didn't enjoy! The street tacos and wurst burritos are amazing! Try it! More...
We got the sampler to have a taste of everything and their food is SO GOOD! Especially the quesadillas
Great and unique food it's a must try
I have ordered from here so many times I have lost count. Everything I have tried is amazing! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Great, friendly service. Got the Cubano, and the pork was phenomenal and paired well with the spicy Kika sauce as well as the rest of the toppings.
Decided to try Chilito's after a friend recommended it and will definitely return! Had the Street Tacos with Steak (arrachera) and they were delicious, as well as the side of rice&beans. Definitely recommend this place as an alternative to fast food options, great flavor! More...
This place is awesome!!! The "Worst Burrito" is probably the closest thing to a Mission style burrito you can find in this town. The only thing is that it's a tad dry...the fries (yes, FRIES IN THE BURRITO) probably soaked up all that yummy kika sauce. If you're a fan of sauces, I suggest asking for extra in the burrito. The spicy version of the Kika sauce isn't very spicy, so feel free to go bold. The tamales are $1/ea if you choose to get it a la carte. They aren't great, but I think they're above average. My coworker had the Cuban sandwich and was really please with it, especially the chicharrones that come as a side. The only drawback is that the place isn't really "express." It took a normal time you would expect at any establishment to get our entrees out considering we were the only patrons at the moment. They are generous with their promotions/coupons. At the time we stopped by, they were offering $2 off if you provide proof of check-in on facebook. They have a stamp/loyalty card with $5 off on the 6th visit and a coupon if you order through grubhub. More...
I was asked to check this place out for my best friends who live in Waxahachie & wanted my opinion to help them decide on catering for an upcoming wedding. I'm glad they tasked me with this! Not sure how they found this place, since I actually live here, but it's awesome. Al & Sarah are very nice & were very accommodating. Here's my honest opinion:Beans: Not authentic refried like my favorite ones from Mexican Manhattan, but they're delicious. They have a grilled, almost smoky type flavor that makes them taste completely different than regular beans. Rice: Amazing. Similar to Chipotle cilantro lime rice, not regular Mexican rice. This in itself set it apart from my perspective since I don't eat Mexican Rice. Street Tacos: Mui Delicioso. I don't eat regular tacos so I'm a good judge of street tacos. First....Pork is my absolute favorite. Second.... Chicken has a really great grilled flavor & Last....steak is very tasty. Tamales: I've never had cream cheese tamales, but they're wonderful. Hard to tell the difference in the 2 flavors, but they're both great. For catering events, these are a perfect alternative. Both pork flavors are similiar & amazing. Again... pork is my favorite! Kiki sauce: Very flavorful & I could probably drink it. The spicy has just the right amount of heat.I'm sure the other menu items are equally as wonderful. Try them out & you won't be sorry!! More...
I had the Famous bowl with Peruvian pork and it exceeded my expectations and it was delicious. This place is around the corner from my house and I will be visiting frequently.
Met the owner, who explained the business has been around for over 6 years in Boerne, and now they are expanding into San Antonio. The building has had several business, including a drive-thru location for Wells Fargo. While the ATM remains, Chilitos has updated the building with paint and signage and I found it easily, located in front of the pawn shop in the corner shopping center. We ordered the Chilitos bowl, a quesadilla and two dozen tamales with mild sauce. Everything was delicious! The quesadilla was cheese filled and the steak had flavor. While the jalapeño pork tamales were good, the chicken & cream cheese was even better. The shining star was the bowl: filled with sweet potatoes fries, some of the best rice and beans ever, then brisket and sauce, the taste was balanced. The owner was kind enough to provide a sample of the spicy kika sauce. Both the mild and spicy are great - the spicy has a stronger kick if you don't have the cream cheese to cool off the spice. Will definitely be returning. So glad they chose to expand. Hopefully they make more locations in the 281/1604 (Stone Oak) area soon. Specials posted on FaceBook, as well. More...
Long review ahead. Please stop now if you do not like long reviews. You have been adequately warned. Yep "Woohoo! As good as it gets!"We discovered this little gem as we were driving home on Babcock. It's technically a drive-through that shares its space with the Wells Fargo ATM and I suppose while one can actually drive through, it'd also be reasonable to park nearby at the numerous parking spaces available (free; for anyone reading that's coming from out of town and are doing Ctrl-F) and order at the window in person. Btw, the window is on the side of the building facing the Wells Fargo ATM.Now onto the food. It's good. It's affordable. It's not greasy. But let's be more effusive. The owner is a friendly guy and will wait as you face indecision over which item(s) to order. After you have ordered and are awaiting for your freshly made items to manifest (10 minutes), you can chat with someone, people/car watch, and be entranced by the tantalizing aroma wafting through. We've tried the items below as of this writing and can vouch for their satisfaction.Popular Items-Chilito's famous bowl ($8): nice sweet potato fries-That Quesadilla ($7.50): 12"; good hot and cold [eating one right now]-Chilito's Tamale Plate ($7.00): yes yes yesLas Tortas-El Cubano ($7.75)Chilito's Gourmet Tacos-Hell Taco ($3.25)My personal favorite is the Chilito's Tamale Plate, especially the cream cheese jalapeno. Try it. I'm not going to wax poetic about the the soft tamale dough with just the right amount of bounce or the creaminess of every bite but I think I just did. Oh well. For the choice of meat, I like the Peruvian Roasted Pork (similar to the texture of Chipotle's beef barbacoa) best. As for the mild or spicy sauce, I don't find the spicy sauce very spicy but then again, everyone's tolerance level is different. There are many places to eat but since you're reading this, why not stop your search here and now and give Chilito's a shot? And finally, you may wonder still, dear stranger, if I recommend this place? Why yes, indeed I do. More...

Great tasting tacos! I haven't gotten a chance to try the tamales but all three tacos that I tried were excellent.
Don't let the name fool you. I had their Hell Taco and it's now my favorite taco, even better than Torchy's (but Torchy's still rocks!) Chilito's just opened up in the Medical Center area and I recommend trying them really soon because once the word gets out the lines there will be crazy. More...
Amazing, tasty, "to die for" food. ALL items on their menu, without exception, are superb!

Seriously fantastic food, tamales and YES let's not forget the awesome and amazing Kika sauce!! I have bought many bottles of that sauce and now have friends in San Antonio asking me to pick up bottles for them too!! I love the street tacos and just picked up 2 dozen tamales today for a party this weekend!! Only the BEST tamales for my guests!! I am sad they aren't doing the full menu anymore because I loved the Cuban sandwiches and their bowls, but I understand that the tamales are such a hot item that they needed to keep up with all the orders! And anyone wanting the regular menu can always try Chilito's catering!!! They would be great for any event!! If you haven't tried Chilito's you really must!!! More...
Absolutely the best tamales on the planet! These are not your typical tamales! They will make you taste buds do a happy dance! Must try!
Chilitos Express was highly recommended to me by our wedding venue and now I know why! This little food truck is packed with big flavor! Their signature sauces are amazing, tamales are out of this world and tres leches cake made by Al's wife was to die for! We used Al and his team for our rehearsal dinner at Eagle Dancer Ranch in Sisterdale and they were a huge hit! All my guests loved the food as did I! If you are looking for delicious food, top notch service for a remarkable price you have found what you are looking for! Al and his team will take great care of you and leave you with happy bellies! Came here because I heard it was a local favorite. I ordered the ultimate double cheeseburger and it was huge! It was one of the best I have had. The main chef came and sat with us as we ate and talked about how he worked for Gordon Ramsey. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised! With the quality and quantity of the food this place was sure worth it! More...
Chilitos tamales have become a staple during our holidays. Order ahead or call ahead to see what they have left for the day bc they are made fresh! Try the jalapeño cream cheese. This was my biggest graving during my first pregnancy. I would stand in the long line every market days just to feed my cravings! I highly recommend the worst tacos! My other favorite is the burritos bowl. I've had this with chicken, pork, veggie and they are all equally delicious. When we have family other we order the sampler that has a little bit of everything, there is something for everyone. Tamales, empanadas, quesadillas, tacos etc!The owner Al is a very nice guy and has a passion for growing the restaurant diversity in this town. He does a great job bringing a fine quality cuisine himself. More...
I have been going to Chilito's Express since they were at The Pavilion Food Park on Johns road. The food is always made to order and is in your hand in no time at all. The employees and the owner Al are very friendly and make sure that you are taken care of. Unlike other places around Boerne, here you will get a generous portion for a reasonable price. They do not skimp at all. I have tried quite a few things on their menu and have not had anything I did not like. Their burgers are huge and their tacos are stuffed. I like the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Burger, the pork street tacos, and the pork "Worst Tacos". I would recommend ordering one of their lunch specials because you can try something new at a discounted price and it includes a drink. If you are a Starvin' Marvin the Chilito's sampler plate will satisfy even the hungriest of the hungry. More...
Excellent flavors in hamburgers. Real thick patties. Argentinean sausage burger is great. Cream cheese and jalapeño tamales are one of my favorites. This is not TexMex! Sauces make the difference. Authentic Peruvian flavors, get the taste of Peru without the trip!I bought six dozen to take to Tennessee when I moved here! And will be ordering some more soon, as well some of Al's sauce. More...
I first tried Chilitos when they served at my children's private school function and was immediately hooked. Their green sauce (if you get the hot) is exactly that hot and spicy. I am a huge fan of their street tacos and highly recommend it. I have tried their rice and beans and although they are not typical Mexican recipes (hence the word fusion) they are equally delish. Give them a try! More...
What can I say it was really good Latin style food at a great price. The bowl was big enough for my girl and I to share. Outdoor picnic tables will soon have umbrellas. Thanks David you guys are awesome! More...
Just moved to Boerne from CA and have been looking for a really good taco truck. This place has excellent food!!! Tried the chicken cream cheese tamales and they were excellent! We also ordered the sample plate which included some street tacos and quesadillas, both really good. The meats are seasoned and cooked to perfection. I really want to try one of the burgers next time around. We will definitely be back! More...
We had the street tacos at an real estate event last week. They were awesome especially with the green sauce. Thanks Al for helping make the Esperanza Real Estate Preview a success.
Saw this place featured on SA Live today, and was intrigued by the green sauce. Gave them a call to see if they had any available for purchase today. Spoke with a super nice guy named David who checked inventory and offered to set aside 2 of the green sauces so that I could pick them up. Since the sauce is made fresh every day, they sell out quick.Drove from the South Side of SA (and I mean Palo Alto south) all the way to Boerne for this sauce. Once I got there, was assisted by a lovely young woman named Madison, who told me I got the last of that sauce. I ended up buying a dozen of the cream cheese/chicken tamales and a dozen of the cream cheese/jalapeno tamales as well. Got home and tried all three, and OMG....the sauce is Serrano- based, so it doesn't take much, but it is SO DAMN DELICIOUS! And the tamales...out of this world, and I'm not EVEN exaggerating.I live in the South Side so I always order my tamales from B&B, and have always been a happy camper, and will continue to order the traditional pork and pork/jalapeno tamales from them. But I have to admit that I kinda fell head over heels in love with Chilitos sour cream and chicken/jalapeno tamales and that food-gasmic green sauce. I hope the two will understand that I can't let either one of them go More...
So so so good. Best tacos in town for sure. Delicious.Today was my first visit and I will definitely be a regular. Great prices too!!
This review s in regard to the food truck set up at BOB. Great Tamales!! Had the cheese and jalapeños, this will be a nice stop next time I go to Boerne. Good job guys, great flavor and customer service. If only BOB ( Boardwalk on Bulverde) could clean up there act we would stop by more often. More...
Amazing tamales! Curse the person who came up with the idea for chicken and cream cheese tamales. So delicious.
Excellent food! I got the combo plate and my wife ordered the quesadilla. We loved it all. Even the rice and beans were great. I don't know exactly how to explain this differentiation, but it is definitely Latin food as opposed to Tex-Mex. I love Tex-Mex, too, but Latin cuisines is a class of its own, and Chilitos is doing it right. I highly recommend the drive up to New Braunfels for some excellent Latin Fusion dining! More...
Best kept secret in S Texas. Jalapeno cream cheese tamales are well worth the 70 mile round trip I make to get them. The Cuban sandwich and pork tacos with the signature sauce are just outstanding. Walter and his assistant make remarkable food and have customer service down pat. Very reasonably priced. I go as often as I can. By the way, I think the location is 905 N Main in Boerne. Wish I could give it more stars! More...
First time eating here, won't be my last! Got the chicken street tacos and LOVED them. The owner was very friendly and helpful
We eat at Chilito's approximately once a week. Mu husband is hardcore for the steak quesadilla. I can't go longer than a week without the pork taco! Chilito's has great prices and outstanding food. Al recently added a few more items to the menu and they have all been winners! The "Worst of the Worst" taco and Hell taco are awesome as well, just really filling! And don't forget the green sauce. I would eat that stuff on ice cream if they offered it! More...
The "Worst tacos" are the BEST!!!! They are called "worst" but they are the complete opposite. Love it over there! Can't go wrong with anything you order.
Chilitos has moved into the beer garden on Main St. This place is great!!!! The Latin burger combines traditional American fare with a secret cilantro sauce and Latin spices. The worst taco and quesadilla are excellent. There are many other items on the menu that I have not tried but I will definitely be heading back to try everything else. More...
Come visit Al at Chilito's Express. The food is fantastic and at a great price. I can't wait to go back!
Absolutely delicious! Try the beef empanada and the cream cheese jalapeno tamales. A coworker brought them in for breakfast and they sure beat the standard breakfast taco!!
Chilitos Express brings Latin flavors to Central Texas. The owner, Al Maldonado is originally from Peru and is hoping to expand the palates of local diners.I've eaten at Chilitos about 7 times. I started off with more traditional foods, breakfast tacos and "worst taco." All were delicious, tender tortillas and fresh ingredients.Chilitos makes delicious tamales that are filled with either cream cheese and mild jalapeno, or cream cheese and chicken. I thought cream cheese tamales would be very rich, but these are flavorful, delicate, and interesting.Chilitos has very good meats and the foods that feature meat are delightful. Try the meat empanada, in fact, try two. This week I tried two "white board" specials: The Caribbean Brisket Taco and the Loin Steak Taco. They are my current favorites. The Caribbean Brisket has brisket meat tossed in a Caribbean salsa and it is a bit spicy, but then, I love spicy. The loin steak taco has a creamy green sauce that was finger licking good. If you know what you want to order, you can call ahead, and leave a message and your call is usually returned quickly. On rush hour mornings, it's a good idea to call ahead. I keep asking Al when he is going to bring more Peruvian food items. He said it's been difficult because people are afraid to try new things. That seems both very sad and very true. Boerne is pretty conservative and bland in terms of food choices. But Chilitos is about 10 minutes from La Cantera, and San Antonio folks are bound to be looking for something besides the regular taco now and then. More...
