Best Taco Tuesday deals hands down! $1 street carne and pollo asada tacos and $2 Mexican mules! Quick and friendly service and tasty meat with micro cilantro (my fave). Pretty tasty food!My mother and I visited and were served by Meagan, who provided excellent service.We ordered a burger and soup combo. Both were excellent, the burger was perfectly cooked and the soup tasted fresh and not out of a can.My only regret was the beers that we tried, they personally weren't to my liking, though that is a personal taste issue. I'll be sure to try some more of their beer menu in the future and I hope that I'll find something to my liking.I look forward to visiting again in the future. Fortunately found this place when Verizon gifted me a gift certificate. Our bartender was amazing! The atmosphere was great. Super laid back. And the food was amazing. I got the Impossible Burger and coming from a meat lover this was sooooo good. I would even dare say it was better than my boyfriend regular burger. And I quote "yeah I wish I got that it taste much better than mine". I will day I think they just had the heat up too high for his burger. Beer was good and the whiskey selection was nice too! We came in last night to honor my late father's birthday with my mom, grandmother, out-of-town cousin & BF. I had made a reservation (bc I get points and had a group of five) but it didn't seem necessary before 7:30pm. Having lived in LJ for a long time this location has had much turnover but I hope CAVU enjoys some longevity! Our server Dennis D. had no idea we were there for a somber occasion; he had amazing energy and engaged my 90-year-old Grandmother specifically in a way that made her light up! It was really lovely; his service had a great impact on our dinner. The food was really tasty, not overly seasoned or "hipstery" like so many brewery spots. My cousin ordered their most popular beer and, being something of a world beer connoisseur, she was a fan! I LOVED the house-brewed cream soda and highly recommend it even if you don't care for A&W (their's is far better). The ambiance of the place was also great: the music was cool but not blaring. Awesome place to have a party!  The covered patio is really cool with fire-pits and string lights. We were also able to run a slide show on the TV's. We had about 75 guests show up for drinks and appetizers. I definitely would suggest the sliders and flatbreads as well as the hummus tray. Meagan was our server and she was outstanding. My boyfriend, dog, and I decided to stop here on our way back to Los Angeles. The patio is dog-friendly and the environment is very relaxed. Our server was very nice and helpful. She offered suggestions on different beers and helped me select a hard cider. The chai cider was great! We had the chowder and the fish and chips to eat. Where do I start? This place was great. My husband, sister in law and her hubby and I went to this spot for a brunch. Andrew, our waiter, was on point right from the start. He was quick to get us drinks, menus and turned the fireplace on at our table. I recommend sitting outside , it was a gorgeous day, how could we not? The food was delicious! I've never had a grilled chicken sandwich that actually had flavor and wasn't DRY! So juicy and so delicious! This place is now our go-to when we have tickets to a show at the Comedy Store, which is right around the corner. They had run out of what we had originally wanted, but that is ok, the staff was really attentive and courteous. They even remembered us from previous visits, some time ago.The steak frites were delicious and the demi sauce enticed me to have more, my wife loved their fish and chips. Unfortunately the house beer is not good except for a collab lager they had, but maybe they'll get there eventually. My husband and I have eaten at Cavu twice since it opened. This location in La Jolla has changed hands a few times. We think this time could be a winner as the food is really good and consistent so far. Bartender Juan very nice young man, pleasant personality and makes an effort to make sure you're enjoying your meal. I highly recommend that locals and others give it a go. Well worth a visit. Really enjoyed the vibe here. Dogs are allowed on the patio, which was perfect for us. Beer was good and food was delicious. My only complaint would be it was a little overpriced. Came here on a Saturday for a late lunch and it is phenomenal! So a few things:1. This place is under new management. Service is awesome - the staff are super personable and responsive. 2. Jonathan makes killer drinks. Just tell him what you like and he will create a masterpiece for you. (Ask him to try "Jonathan's Rosemary". It's ah-mazing) 3. Food is awesome. Ok, let me preface by saying, I'm not typically a beer drinker because I prefer more taste in my drinks and beer, I usually find stale tasting - if that makes sense. This is the second time that I have visited this location in the past three days. I will make this a staple for lunch every time I stop in town. Their draft selection is nice, but my favorite is the belching beaver on tap. Mucho bueno. Their mojitos are also bomb.Calamari is lightly battered and in steak strips. Delicious.Crab cakes are crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. Very fresh. Delicious.Wings were grilled and had a sweet chili sauce. With the creamy ranch, was also delicious.Clam chowder was good according to deliciousness, but I don't get down on that even if great quality. It is missed on me. Flat bread had thin crust which was crispy and crusty. Gorgonzola cheese con spicy chicken was a good a good combo of flavors.Stuffed chicken was healthy and flavorful.
