Fabulous brunch! Loved the cat head biscuits, gravy and grits! Plus, so much more with a variety of choices! Great food and service! It was my first time and it will definitely be on my list to go there again and again!!! More...
One of the biggest surprises I’ve ever found for dining! Great place! Great brunch on a Saturday!
The food is so good and ppl are so friendly here...very different place the whole set up is different...
This was a fantastic stop on my way through Little Rock. Highly recommend. Casual cool atmosphere. Perfectly smoked sausage with smoky bbq sauce. This went perfectly with the best sautéed cabbage I've ever ate and delicious creamy mac-n-cheese. Watch out for the jalapeño cornbread as it was spicyWish this was closer to home. Definitely should not miss this. More...
So delicious - brunch only on Sunday! Like that's a bad thing - everything was so delicious- oh we will be back next time we're in Little Rock!
Food is always great , Donnie's the best!!!OUTSTANDING
Good place to eat. Food tastes good customer sservice is good people are very friendly and place is clean has a pretty good atmosphere to it
Great food and people
The best fried chicken I've ever had!! My husband and I were just passing through and stopped at this fantastic diner.. now we are planning our trips around Cathead's Diner.
Great food and fun atmosphere. The turnip greens were the bomb!
Wonderful industrial warehouse style atmosphere. Their Brisket was quite delicious. Went for the brunch and it was quite tasty. Cinnamon roll was really good. The coffee was actually really good ...a medium blend. The folks were chill and friendly. Highly recommend it you get chance. More...

They are environmentally friendly & make most of their fare in house. Recommend the GF chicken tenders. Best breakfast by far. will be back
Cathead's Diner was a wonderful sunny day experience. Food was great, staff was amazing and the owner was even better. We sat on the patio with our dog and enjoyed the beautiful weather while dining on the Saturday brunch foods. House made sauces are an awesome thing when done right and this place does do it right. I live in NW Alabama where white BBQ sauce originated and Cathead's is even better than mine! If we ever happen through Little Rock again, we will definitely make it during their hours of operation and stop in. We all left full and happy. More...
This is a great place for breakfast, lunch or weekend brunch. It’s down home comfort food done well and with good local ingredients when possible. Donnie Fernau and crew are friendly and welcoming as well! More...
Great food and atmosphere. Wait staff very attentive. A bit pricey.
Delicious and fun. You can even step on the old weight scales they have to get a pre and post dinner reading. 1 entree and 3 delicious sides. And don’t forget the cathead roll. Umm. 5 stars. More...

I love everything about this place. The amazing food, the stylish decor, the friendly staff. Every dish is executed perfectly. I can't recommend Cathead's Diner enough! Delicious. More...
I had been to Cathead's for breakfast once and it was fantastic. Still, I was dying to try the brunch buffet and brought four friends along, none of whom had dined there previously. From the excellent spicy Bloody Mary to kick things off to the crème brûlée doughnut, brunch was ludicrously awesome! Chef/owner Donnie Ferneau's brisket is scrumptious, as was everything else from the greens to the fried chicken, cheesy tater tots, cheese grits, bread pudding and literally everything else.. Donnie came by a couple of times to see how we liked it and was happy to talk about his process, both in terms of recipes and local sourcing. Superb brunch -- ten thumbs up!! More...
Great atmosphere even better food! Passing through but hope to return.
Loved the atmosphere felt like down homecooking with a little old and new school food! The swirl mimosa was the best frozen and on the rock!!
Great food and great service, highly recommended
The bread pudding was AMAZING!
Went there for a work luncheon. Not my kind of food but the service was good and everyone else liked it. It's breakfast, BBQ, and soul food with a dessert bar.
Went for lunch. Buffet as I had limited time. Had catfish, beans, okra, and cornbread. All tasted homestyle. Catfish was better than expected. Was a little pricey but would try a sit-down meal next time and try their greens More...
I got a recommendation for this place from my OKC peoples. Being from KC and having grown up and lived in Texas and the South for a big part of my life, I am genetically predisposed to eating BBQ and fried food at anytime of the day, to include breakfast. It's in my DNA, true statement, you can Google it. *Science*Anyway, I love the location in the old warehouse style building, real close to the city. The decor is great, my kind of place. Cafeteria style, so you get your food right now.The brisket has a great burnt edge on it, although was a little fattier than I like, but that does not affect the rating at all. Just a persona preference. The pulled pork was excellent. I LOVED the grits and sausage casserole. The grits were nice and thick, cheesy but not gooey, just the way I like them. I didn't have to do anything to them, that's the sign of good grits. Again, *science*. I even had them whip up a couple eggs for me over medium, which were also great. I mean it's eggs, what's not to like? For $22 or whatever, this is a solid meal. Very highly recommended, especially after a night drinking tequila mules in the River Market area. More...
We happened upon this diner and feel it was an amazing find. Food was excellent. Service went above and beyond. Would highly recommend!!!
Food and staff were AWESOME!!! Very kid friendly too! ☺️

I loved the chocolate gravy and biscuits! The environment was perfect for breakfast and chatting with friends! The staff were super friendly and on top of refills and clearing our table.
Great atmosphere, super friendly staff and owner and meatloaf will make you question if your mother’s is the best you’ve ever had!!!
We had the privilege of having brunch here, the service is outstanding. Haven’t been out to eat in a little while because of such terrible service and food lately but I found a diamond in the ruff. Will definitely be back. 5 stars are not enough. Thank you for such an amazing experience. I will be back More...
My wife and I care here this morning for the brunch, and not only was the food and service amazing , but we were pleasantly surprised to find many gluten free options on the buffet!! As a Celiac that HUGE!! Donnie you have outdone your self yet again my man !! I recommend this to anyone More...
Excellent spot! We sampled the all you can eat brunch. It did not disappoint in the slightest. Everything from the cheesy potatoes, to the housemade pickles are fantastic. Absolutely worth your time!
One of the best dining experiences of my life, and I am a die hard foodie who has been all over the country and even out of the country. When I get here, I get so f$#%&^% excited, my man has to tell me to calm down & stop freaking out. I'm seriously like a kid in a free candy store or Nordstrom's on a shopping spree. There are all kind of flavors bursting in my mouth. All the food comes locally and the owner is so personable, (I thought he was a bust boy, as he sat down next to me to describe the "mofro" drink I was asking about & then explain how to dine, as it was my first visit) until I saw his picture and name in a local magazine, when I suddenly realized I used to go to a restaurant he owned years ago downtown called Ferneau, that had the best lamb chops I have ever tasted in life in a restaurant (b/c of course my sister makes the best lamb chops on earth)....no words to describe this place...it will change your life! You must go..it is in my top 5 of all time!!! More...
Great food, great staff & great atmosphere.
This place is the perfect mix of no-frills, down home southern comfort food, and modern farm-to-table preferences. It's like what I imagine eating at your aunt and uncle's farm house with the whole family would be like. The buffet is definitely worth the cost, especially if you are getting a mimosa or Bloody Mary. I had the frozen mimosa "fro-mo" which was delightful. The food is lovingly prepared (and locally sourced), and is replaced with fresh batches often. It includes two kinds of fried chicken battered perfectly - tenders or bone-in. The eggs and pancakes are all made-to-order. There were biscuits and gravy, chocolate gravy, collard greens, potato casserole, amazing bacon, homegrown grapes and watermelon, pies and cinnamon rolls...the whole menu is mouth-watering goodness, with a nice selection of sauces to choose from. We liked the horseradish-based white Alabama BBQ sauce. Our surprise favorite side dish was probably the fresh pickled cucumbers - they are easily the best pickles I've ever had! I ordered sunny-side up eggs and although they came out great, my server apologized that they weren't as "pretty" as usual, and brought out a fresh plate of eggs, perfectly plated, free of charge. Our server and the employees busing the tables were super friendly and prompt. The owner took a short break from working the food line to come check on every table, and talked to us for a long time, and even showed us the big smoker out front after our meal to show us how it's done. You can tell he really cares about this place. We will definitely be back - wearing loose-fitting pants! More...
Was in town for work and stayed in Little Rock for the weekend. Really enjoyed the natural beauty of the city. Saturday for Brunch we came to Cathead's on a strong recommendation and I am supremely glad we did!The buffet ($22.50) was a wide range of well thought out southern comfort food. From the fried chicken seasoned to perfection, to the cheesy potato casserole with thinly sliced smoked sausage - it was delicious. In addition there were ribs, tenders, grits, bacon, greens, made to order eggs, short stack, top notch coleslaw, fresh fruit - locally sourced, an array of pies, cinnamon rolls and doughnuts and more, but that wasn't even the best part. It was worth it alone just for the house made pickles. Now, I'm not exactly someone who goes overboard for pickles, in fact at many places I'm familiar with, I'll order dishes without the pickles because they are not to my taste. However, I could tell these ones were different. You could see how seasoned and fresh they were right away. They were without a doubt the best pickles I've had in my life. We loved them. This doesn't even get into the sauce station, where by the way they have an old cattle scale so you can weigh in before and after if you desire. But I digress, you have a mixture of various sauces and excellent house giardiniera, but my favorite was the Alabama white bbq. That horseradish really ties it all together. Not to mention our server, Annabelle, was an absolute delight and made the experience all the better. If you get a chance, also strike up a conversation with Chef Ferneau - he is a friendly and welcoming individual who will make sure you have a great experience in his restaurant. He is also great at encouraging you to try the green options on the buffet which is always good! More...
I worked up an appetite walking around the Clinton Museum/Library so it's a good thing I found Catheads. For $22 (25 with alcohol) it is an all you can eat cafeteria style brunch. His place has it all. Fresh Shrimp, Brisket, Ribs, Pulled Pork, Eggs Made to order,All the sides, And a full desert bar just for starters. Not only is the food amazing, the service is spectacular. Southern courtesy and charm oozes out of this place. Every time I go to Little Rock, this place will be on my to do list!!! And it should be on yours, just make sure you bring your appetite Update: Went back to Catheads for a weekday lunch. Same great food. Same great service. Even better price. Will always make a stop when I'm in the city. More...
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good variety of delicious food for the brunch buffet. Will definitely go back!
Brunch was AMAZING! Great food and our server, Lacanna was so sweet and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Excellent fresh, home cooking! The food and service is wonderful Comfortable atmosphere. I wish I could eat here every day. The biscuits are “to die for”.
So pretty sure someone's grandma works here because the food is definitely some southern cuisine! The biscuits are some divine flaky goodness! Yum! Must try!!!!!
Good food. Saturday brunch is fun. Bit expensive, but decent value if you eat a lot. Make sure you're hungry before you come.
Excellent brunch buffet!! Will be back.
Great food and awesome service. Makes you feel like you're family.

We stopped in to eat on our way back to Wyoming at the recommendation of our cousin. All I can say is AMAZING. Food is down home cooking at its finest, the staff is friendly and helpful, the owner goes out of his way to make you feel as if your in his home eating. Wonderful experience and would reccomend it to all. More...

Amazing food, attentive staff—get there early for brunch, getting crowded before we left a little before noon. Will definitely do brunch again & again.
A very unique spin on breakfast. BBQ breakfast. Don’t laugh till you try. I pulled up to the building and saw a smoker. Then I got a great whiff of the smoke itself. I thought I was crazy or at the wrong location. I’d love to taste lunch. Breakfast would not be my first choice. BBQ spices on all. Not that it hurt the taste. Just wasn’t ready for it. Service was great and friendly. Recommend and I will be back. More...
Loved how everything was seasoned correctly. We ate lunch and it was good, but now I want to try breakfast because I hear its fantastic.
Excellent food. Service was mediocre on our visit. Great decor and atmosphere. I would give five stars if it wasn't so expensive.
I LOVE this place. Devastatingly delicious food and really affable and courteous staff! Will be going back again. Highly recommend!
Stumbled onto this place for Saturday brunch nearly by accident and it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious & the service top notch. I’d definitely return again when my travels bring me though Little Rock. More...
One of the best spots in town to visit for lunch. The owner and the staff are absolutely phenomenal. I always go back and wonder what new stuff they have for me to enjoy!!
Great! Perfect! And awesome food!!!

The chicken was incredible
New place opened in June. Awesome breakfast choices! Great coffee. Their namesake is the "cathead biscuit" (it's so good!) These are hearty biscuits and will fill you up! The gravy is thick and flavorful also. Great service. Shay, the GM, was especially helpful. Leslie, the server, was excellent as well. Cathead's Diner is open for lunch also and I will be back. They have so many specialties. Be sure and try this place! More...
Just walking out of Catheads and was SUPER impressed and pleased! First time there and definitely lived up to the hype. Food was hot, fresh and tasty. Drinks were perfect and $2 margaritas set the brunch tone for sure. The owners came around and were personable and made sure we were well taken care of. Five Stars, for sure. More...
Cathead’s Diner is a MUST!
The food is awesome the service is great there is nothing more I can say except I wish it was free ! LOL!
Food was fresh cooked, seasoned well and reminded me of home cooked. A cool place that was large and loud but didn’t matter once you start eating!!!
Very good food! Service fast , very friendly, makes you feel "right at home" l will definitely come here again.
Super friendly, quick service, knowledgeable cook staff on gluten-non gluten options. Good portion sizes, great tasting food! Will be back.
Ribs - Smoked, NOT boiled, to perfection. Can stand alone, delicious without sauce (a rarity even among established BBQ joints).BBQ Sauce - Wonderfully balanced, tangy with a touch of sweet. A harmonious collaboration of yumminess when ladled lovingly over the smoked meats. Fried Chicken - Not oily, flavorful through and through. You will not be disappointed once you get past the crispy outer layer.Potato Salad - Chunky and creamy all at the same time. Very enjoyable.Pancakes - Not a bunch of carelessly thrown together ingredients just to have something to pour syrup over. These pancakes were great, they were soft, moist and delicious. Biscuits - Big, flakey and held up nicely under my sweeties pool of chocolate gravy (never had that before...loved it)! I dipped mine in the traditional gravy (equally good). Bread pudding - crusty, good flavor.....would not have hurt my feelings a bit if there had been one more stick of butter utilized in the recipe. Just touch less than the "puddingly" texture I was looking for.Mimosas - I don't typically like them, and initially declined to take a sip of my sweeties. I am glad I tried it, it was good, not bitter and the orange juice was so sweet and fresh.CUSTOMER SERVICE: The first person to great me was warm, friendly and smiling. Our waitress was so very accommodating and attentive. We timidly walked to the brunch buffet line trying to figure out how to get started and once again we were greeted with welcoming friendly smiles. As they plated our selections they chatted with us, they talked to my babies 6 and 7 asking them what they would like and made sure we all got exactly what we wanted. This place was pretty busy, we arrived around 1130, but it never felt busy. I never felt rushed when making my selections and our waitress never acted as if we were a bother. They handled the crowd effortlessly and efficiently. The other stuff:I was so very appreciative of the fact that Donnie Ferneau decided to open his restaurant on the other side of the highway. This area is underdeveloped and could definitely use a boost in commerce. I am proud of Donnie for utilizing environmentally friendly straws.....thank you. I had a nice conversation with Donnie and as you can tell by this post, I am pretty wordy. I just had to let him know how much we enjoyed our dining experience and to thank him for his contribution to the dining culture here in Arkansas. He was so humbly appreciative of my feedback. If anyone took the time to read this entire post, please take a moment to provide some positive encouragement to Donnie and his talented team. More...
Ok... “All you can eat brunch” and they have cocktails & Mimosas. I mean really, when was the last time you went to a cafeteria style, family friendly buffet and had a Bloody Mary? Well, it was a first for me.Open dining hall in the newly renovated “paint factory”. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The menu changes on a regular basis. The offerings today included pulled pork, chicken tenders and greens to go along with the usual breakfast options. And of course they had awesome biscuits with your choice of white or “chocolate” gravy.Everything was very good, but they do have an opportunity to improve their freshly prepared eggs. I suggest perhaps a separate “station” or table. I ordered eggs over easy (willing to wait for them), but our waitress brought them to the table and they were over cooked.Oh yeah, they have biscuits as big as a “Cat’s Head”. More...
Big city feel in Little Rock... customer service is great and management makes it a great experience.
Amazing food and great casual atmosphere. A must place to go eat!
I wish I could give this place 4 1/2 stars. This review is for the Sunday brisket brunch. Five stars for the fried turkey, fried chicken, brisket, hash brown casserole, cabbage, and "fromo." The bread products and desserts were decent. Still a fun experience! More...
Best cooked carrots I have ever eaten! Wow! All my foods were flavorful and delicious!
We love Cathead's. Wonderful place to eat. My five year olds eyes bug out of his head every brunch as we walk past the donuts i just realized today that we hadn't been in a minute. We'll remedy that in short order.
Best brunch in town hands down.

Just excellent. Always.
Neat old redone factory space...great service with up styled southern classics. Sunday's just brunch is offered. I had good beef brisket, a fried ckn breast (wasn't in the mood for fried, just pulled of the skin, lovely moist non-greasy con underneath). Also had Really good greens, half of a really tender biscuit with gravy and other goodies My drink was a frozen mimosa-just right. We did not have to get back in line when my husband wanted a sliver of pecan pie, it looked so good, I asked for some too.Delicious, desserts on tuna plates, quirky decor that's upscaled still, with fun signs going to the reatrooms. Would definitely go again More...
My husband surprised me with brunch here today. Amazing food and amazing people. I will definitely be back!
Fantastic food and staff
Great brunch. Was a little crowded on Mother's Day weekend but the food was great! Will certainly go back.
Awesome food and atmosphere everytime!!
Food was excellent
Food and service was very Good!!!
Enjoyed their Low Country Boil! Great food, great service and great atmosphere!
Every time I've eaten here, I'm glad I did. Mr. Ferneau can cook!! That is not true of all TV celebrity chefs. Chicken and dumplings were as good as mine and that is saying something because mine a GREAT. And so were the sides!! Now if they can put up some acoustical molding so it doesn't sound so much like a noisey cafeteria. Even if they don't, I'll come back anyway. More...
I have been to Cathead's 3 times this year and had a great experience each time!! I have a daughter with a peanut allergy and they were very aware about not having peanuts in their food or using peanut oil! Their confidence was comforting! A lot of times restaurants are clueless about their peanut situation.. Today was Mother's Day so they were packed! There was an hour wait, which we expected bc of the holiday. It is a lovely area to walk around and kill an hour! When it was our turn for a table, the waitstaff was so happy and polite! They didn't seem overwhelmed by the rush at all! Not to mention that the food was amazing!! Seriously so good!! I can't say enough positive things! My daughter says it's her new favorite restaurant! More...

Food was delicious! Brisket was smoked to perfection! Owner was especially nice to my daughter for her birthday! It was a great brunch all together!
Great food and atmosphere!
Best friend Chicken on the planet.
Always good. Owner interactive. Will return.
Amazing fresh food. Great ambiance. Our waitress wasn't good by any means but the food made up for it. Those that missed their taco Friday night really missed out.
A bit pricey but the food is great.
As always, everything was delicious! Tried something new today...a Maple Bacon donut. A maple glazed donut, sprinkled with big, crispy, smokey pieces of bacon. Sweet and savory perfection!
Came for Sunday brunch and it was amazing! Everything tastes delicious and the donuts were definitely my favorite. If you're in LR looking for brunch, this is your place!
Huge lunch for a really great price and great service! Came here for lunch this week and was not disappointed! It's a cafeteria style eatery where your place your drink order with your waitress and then grab whatever you would like from the food line! On this day their specials were fried turkey, meatloaf and pulled pork! I had what I would call a thanksgiving meal and it was delicious! They have loads of sides to choose from and even lite plate options! Don't forget to check out their dessert case! They're donuts and pies are the perfect end to a meal! Will deff be making this a weekly lunch spot! More...
Finally gave Cathead's a try on a Friday at lunch and I am beyond pleased!! Having been gluten free for three years which means extremely limited in fried food. Cathead's has not only gluten free chicken tenders, but also gluten free fried catfish on Fridays. I was blown away by the chicken!!! Would have truly never known it was gluten free-- it's THAT good! Dedicated fryer as well. Got the sides of cabbage, mashed potatoes, and carrots. All excellent as well!!! Wide variety of sauce options were fun too. Overall, a fantastic, Southern lunch for ALL diners-- I will certainly be back very soon! More...
Great food. A cafeteria style lunch that's well priced and tasty. Very quick service, so that you can actually enjoy your meal and not rush to get back to work.
Rated 10 stars! We had such an amazing breakfast, can’t wait to return another day for lunch (portions were enormous). Very attentive service, best coffee; sausage and bacon had tremendous flavor. Pancakes topped any home made recipe we ever tried, and they were served with maple butter and syrup. The fried chicken was so good, you’ll want to guard your plate from anyone else’s fork! Cathead Biscuits are homemade and truly the size of a cat’s head. The restaurant is located a block from the Heifer Foundation, a few blocks from the Clinton library. Take the trolley to the Heifer bldg and walk the block to the restaurant. Btw, you’ll need a walk after you enjoy the food! If you are not located near downtown, the restaurant is worth the drive, plenty of parking and handicap access. Bon Appetit! More...
Ate here several times while in Little Rock and every time it was good. Catered food was good too. Smoke Meat Loaf is excellent
Very good food...Cool atmosphere...excellent service.
Great place to eat, big portions Excellent food, the biscuits are highAnd on Thursdays the meatloaf will make you weak in the knees
Get the chocolate gravy and biscuits.
I gave this a five because it's very unique. It's pricey for a guy like me. That said, if you want to break the routine, give this place a shot.
Cathead's Diner for is our new favorite restaurant in the city. We have visited several times and have not been disappointed. The staff and owner are very welcoming and friendly. More...
5 star as always. I tried the fried chicken and it was Southern approved. Crisp seasoned crust with tender and juicy meat.
Great food and drinks fast. Friendly people. Highly recommended
Arrived late on a Sunday, not too long before their 2:00 close. It was brunch and brunch only. Delicious food being enjoyed by everyone. The crowd from fancily dressed post-church goers to casual tee shirt and jeans. Sunday the special was brisket and it was dynamite. The bacon was great, the bread pudding a delight. There was more but I can’t remember it all. One price, as much as you can eat and I did. More...
Really good food, better than most home cooking. Prices are not too bad either.
Fried shrimp, catfish, biscuits and cinnamon rolls are terrific. Do not skip dessert. Service is spot on as well.
Pricey but.....you do get a cocktail and all you can eat. Food was really good and I enjoyed the variety. Owner was very friendly and overall it was a fun place to eat. Will definitely go back.
Everything on the menu is crafted with love. Awesome recipes on southern comfort food. Cafeteria style line is fast and easy. Go ahead and get dessert... you will see what I mean before you get to pick a biscuit or jalapeño cornbread (get both). The service is with a smile. Come hungry, you will leave fat and happy. More...
Had brunch here today, first time I've ever been. That was 4 hours ago....I'm still soo full! This experience was fantastic. For Sunday brunch, you get in a cafeteria line, say what you want, your tray is fixed (multiple plates for mains, sides, desserts, biscuits, etc.) and you can get up and do it all over again if you want! It is $22.50, or $25 with one mimosa. The brunch's main attraction is brisket. However, I got mine early and got some dry pieces off of the end. Maybe it is better to wait until they hit the middle of the brisket for something more juicy?Everything else I tried was good, especially the mini cinnamon rolls and bread pudding. I also love the sauce/ butter bar with many options for....well, sauces and butter. The wait staff is incredible. Donnie Ferneau is there cooking, waiting, making sure everyone is happy. It is really nice to see an owner/ chef 100% focused on making people happy. My vegetarian friend even got a special plate of fried catfish just for her since there was only shrimp as a protein on the buffet. So nice!!!This was a brunch to remember, but one I should only visit rarely....my pants are too tight now. =) More...
First time visiting. My husband and I love local brunch spots. We saw the recommendations and decided to give it a try. I did not know it was cafeteria style. I do not like cafeteria style food. However, this place won me over. We went for the all you can eat brunch and I was stuffed. The line makes sure you get plenty. Our waitstaff was patient with us because we were so overwhelmed with the choices. We were pleased with everything we ate. More...
So glad we stumbled upon this place leaving to head back home to Nashville. The food was phenomenal!! There is literally something on the menu for everyone's tastebuds. I loved the brisket...it was so tender and the flavor was to die for!! To say our experience was amazing is an understatement. It started with a very friendly greet and smile by the host, Crystal. She set the tone and our visit just got better from there. Our server, Shamara, took the time to explain how everything works with the buffet style brunch and didn't rush us when we asked questions. Our service was wonderful. Chef Donnie stepped it up another notch by spoiling us with great conversation and chef stories. It was obvious how much he cares because I watched him go over to every other table and make them feel as special as he did our table. If you are in Little Rock, a visit to Cathead's Diner is a must! The food was great, the people working there were kind, and the atmosphere was clean. Nice place! I will be back.
Awesome brunch! The selection was wonderful and made from scratch! Its all you can eat served cafeteria style. My only complaint was with the grits. They tasted like they were made with a shrimp stock but weren't labeled that way. They were probably great for shrimp and grits but I don't like seafood. Not a huge problem past the initial offending bite though. I was just simply able to go back to the line and get something else! More...
Great food, and fantastic service. Very busy, only because they are so good.
O M G !!!!? Nuff said
Great breakfast chicken biscuits were perfect.
After my brother’s urging, I finally made it to this diner. Spacious loft ceilings, unfussy seating, with friendly, fast and caring service. And then the food. Let’s talk about the smoked turkey which paired amazingly with the house made white dipping sauce ( it has a name, but I was too in shock from its flavour to recall its actual name) . Or the scrumptious biscuits with the house butter, the giant and cozy coffee mugs. I had one of the tastiest meals here. Oh and that strawberry cake went amazingly with the coffee. Thank you Cathead’s and Donny Fernau for putting Little Rock ( again!) on the map, so comfortably and unpretentiously, for foodies. More...
Went there on a Saturday for the first time, is was a brunxh buffet, but.... there was ribs pulled pork fried chicken, chicken strips, best buffet i have ever eaten, was so surprised on the house salad dressing it was so good I would have put it on bread and ate it. Everything made in house, great deserts too!! Chef donnie even came around and visited with us. Will definitely be going back !!!!! More...
I hadn't been able to make it to Cathead's for brunch, but once I did it blew me away. Beautiful seating area. Nostalgic decor. Friendly staff. I was able to score a cup of amazing coffee as I waited only twenty minutes for a table. Then the food! Brisket, BBQ pork, and fried chicken. The cheese grits and collard greens were on point. My only regret is that I didn't leave room for dessert. It looks like I'll have to return, and soon. Cathead's Diner is a must-do for Sunday Brunch! More...
Went for Saturday brunch. The pulled pork was amazing! I do not like bread pudding at all but my daughter convinced me to try the doughnut bread pudding. I would drive back to Little Rock just for that. It was out of this world! Be prepared to wait to be seated on the weekends but fully worth the wait. More...
I'll give 4 stars based on the overall experience. Some of the food was better than others. Fried chicken was good. Not Gus's good but very good. Brisket was good but I'm just not a huge brisket fan. Side veggies I liked a lot. Desserts looked a little better than they tasted. The frozen drink I got with the lunch was really good and I recommend it with the Sunday brunch. Service was very good. Our waitress was very nice. Overall the best food we had in Little Rock over the weekend. I would come back if in Little Rock again. More...

Cathead's Diner is an excellent place for a brunch with friends. The cafeteria style service was a plus. The staff were attentive and very friendly. The food was excellent. Great Sunday brunch buffet with amazing brisket
I just left this place about 20 minutes ago. It's Sunday, 2:28 pm as of this writing. It took me a while to finally attend Cathead's and I fully regret not visiting much sooner. I can still taste the cheese grits with greens and brisket on top and it is one the best things I've ever had in my life!!! You get every bit of your money's worth here and I will be going back again as soon as I can. This is some of the BEST food you can find in Little Rock, hands down. Keep in mind they stay VERY busy so be prepared to wait for a moment and I assure you it is FULLY worth the wait. LOVED IT!!! More...

This LR’s newest lunch spot! It reminds me a lot of Fishers on Broadway back in the day-although it’s a buffet. But being a buffet-it’s gourmet food-and good pricing as well! So proud this area is growing and with this restaurant as its anchor it’s a sure thing! More...
Had the pulled pork with coleslaw , golden mashed potatoes, and baked beans!! #delicious
First time eating here. Pulled pork was excellent. All sides were well seasoned and delicious. Definitely will return.
Came for breakfast and had a great meal. The biscuits made me love biscuits again and the homemade breakfast sausage was absolutely delicious. Great food, reasonably priced, and great atmosphere. More...
Good food, but pricey.
Great food, a different dining experience, but not in a bad way at all. I o feel lik the prices are a tad high, but it wont keep me from going there once in a while. Also, they do have mimosas, and that's a win in my book. #mimosas More...
This is some of the best Southern food you can get. The variety is amazing. I've been several times now since they've been open. The chicken strips are the best in Little Rock. I go on Thursday's because they have Smoked Meatloaf usually. Yeah, seriously, SMOKED meatloaf. It's as amazing as it sounds. I love the variety of the place (they always have donuts regardless of the time of day). My favorite time to go is on Sundays though. That's when they have Texas Style BBQ Brisket. This stuff is insanely good. And it's all you can eat. Along with a ton of other country style foods (grits, greens, pulled pork). I'm getting hungry just writing this review! More...
I go here for lunch with co-workers (we can walk from Heifer!) and I've never been disappointed with their lunches. Everything is delicious. I especially love the biscuits with their butter (is it maple syrup and magic you put in that stuff?) More...
Everything was delicious! I was here for the chicken and dumplings and all the sides! Can't skip out on dessert either!Great atmosphere and friendly people.
Stopped in for lunch today and I will definitely be back. The ribs were great and the service was friendly.
Great place. Food was amazing. Highly recommend!
If Cathead doesn't prove that Little Rock and NLR are FOODIE towns nothing will. A fun, cool place making some really good food. One of the best lunch values in the city. Not just another cookie cutter place. It's own style in and outside with food you want to hug. The donuts should be called "do-cakes" you will LOVE THEM! I'll skip the $1.00 upcharge salad next time to savor more of the comfy food. "They" are making East 6th, safe and hip again. While that biscuit might be big the corn bread is even better. More...
My 1st visit, and I'm already looking forward to the 2nd! Had the pulled pork which was great, but man, that smoked meatloaf can't be beat!
Good food. I'm glad they have a lite menu.
Fun place, great scrambled eggs. Busy atmosphere.
Fried catfish Friday was excellent!
This is one of my favorite places in Little Rock. Chef Donnie hit the nail on the head with this one. Love there food have not had 1 bad meal here . My wife is a manager in the food industry so we're picky. The smoked brisket is ridiculous. So definitely try this place. You will love it. More...
Been here twice while visiting AR to see family. Once for lunch and the second time for breakfast. I wasn't that impressed with their breakfast. It's a set menu ordered and delivered to your table. I would have preferred ordering cafeteria style too, so that I could pick and choose. I will definitely return for their lunch. Lunch is served cafeteria style. Lots of delicious options. Down home southern cooking. They make everything from scratch. There's a table off to the side that has all the condiments you need. Don't pass on the homemade chow chow. It's a relish that's excellent with anything...just like at grandma's table! The people who work here are very friendly. Service is good. Bathrooms (Look for the litter box sign) are clean. I've heard that their weekend brunch is really good too. I look forward to trying this next time I'm in town. More...
Awesome food and very reasonable!
Great food and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.
Great food and atmosphere. Outdoor seating available with the fresh scents of the smoker. Yum...

Had a great pulled pork sandwich at the food truck next to Southern Reel. They also let us sample some of their donuts. We will definitely be back.
The brunch is fantastic. Probably one of the best restaurants in Little Rock
Love coming here when I can. We always have Leslie and she takes great care of us! Highly recommend for breakfast, and will hopefully be trying out lunch soon. All of the staff is friendly and excited for you to be there. Enjoy! More...
Cathead's Diner has a wonderful breakfast with great brunch options without all of the fancy nonsense. It gives you what you came for, simple meats, eggs, and biscuits to die for. Food prices are very reasonable especially given the portions and even their mimosas are cheap compared to some in town. (I've seen $7 at other brunch spots). Pop in and grab some local eats if you get the chance More...
Cathead Diner is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in town and is where I bring out-of-state guests to show off Southern food. I just wish they were open for dinner! Not only is the food incredibly good (including the baked goods and pies!) but everyone who works here has been super friendly and helpful. I had the smoked meatloaf for lunch recently and it puts every other meatloaf I've had to shame (sorry grandma). More...
Today was our first visit and it did not disappoint. We arrived before opening time and there were people already waiting to line up. On Saturday and Sunday they offer the brunch buffet only 10-2. Saturday is smoked ribs day. You definitely want to try the ribs! These best ribs I have ever eaten. It's a not a traditional buffet. It's cafeteria style serving. But so FAR removed from anything resembling cafeteria food. I love that they portion it out for you. There has to be less waste and I appreciate not worrying about germy serving utensils! Anyway, I digress, back to the food, shrimp and grits are perfect, smoked pork with a delicious, tangy BBQ sauce, perfect. Delicious sides like collards, cheese grits, carrots, braised cabbage, fantastic. Biscuits with traditional white gravy and chocolate gravy. And desserts are out of this world. From a Biscoff cookie pie to homemade doughnuts. Even the coffee is good! Let's just say we almost embarrassed ourselves. Almost. Excellent, friendly service. One of the mastermind owners walked around greeting customers and was so very friendly! It's a beautiful, comfortable space and we are so proud it is in Little Rock! More...
Good food. Nice atmosphere.
Super friendly staff and amazing food. Donnie came out and talked with us and make sure we had a great experience. We will be coming back when we are in town!
Great place for lunch. Great service. Excellent food.
Great food and staff!
TL;DR - Really good food, cool atmosphere. On the pricey side, especially considering no drinks come with the buffet (at the base price). Will probably go back again, but most likely for a special occasion, not just a normal Saturday brunch.Atmosphere: I think the new "East Village" area has a lot of potential, just based on the initial offering of Cathead's Diner. The atmosphere is "cool" and rustic, and fits perfectly in the old-meets-new vibe I think they're going for in the EV. It does get a little loud in there, mostly because there aren't many soft surfaces to absorb all the sounds.Food: The food was delicious. I had brisket, cheese grits, cooked carrots, pecan pie, a maple bacon donut, and a butter pecan glazed donut. My wife had shrimp and grits, smoked sausage, green beans, fried chicken tenders, and a creme brulee donut. Daughter had a waffle with whipped creme and chocolate chips, bacon, a biscuit, and a cookies and cream donut. We were all quite satisfied with our selections, but too full to go for another round to try others. Apart from the items we chose, there was also pulled pork, donut bread French toast (yep), greens, salads, fruit, cakes, a few types of gravy (for the biscuits, I guess), and lots of other donut flavors and desserts. I don't know if the menu rotates, but it seems like the kind of place that would do that.Drinks: We only had water, juice, soft drinks, and an espresso, but the drinks menu (front and back) had LOTS of cocktails to choose from.Service: The service was ok, not spectacular. We did have to reach out to our server for refills, rather than her checking on us regularly. Everyone was nice though, and the servers in the buffet line we're patient and friendly.Price: On the high side, especially if you only go through the line once. There are a couple of buffet "bundle" options that include drinks, but the base buffet price was $22.50 when we went. The bundles are, of course, more.I think we'll go back, but considering the price it would be for a special occasion, or maybe when people from out of town are with us. More...
Great little cafeteria style eatery.
Food and service were good. Biscuits were dry and hard. Very noisy.
I very much enjoy the friendly staff and more so the food. Large variety of veggies and pastries. I don't mind bragging on Cathead Diner.
Friendly staff, EXCELLENT FOOD, Awesome atmosphere--- I Rate 10 stars! 0700 open for night shift workers, $3 MIMOSAS, other specials, and a GREAT BREAKFAST and AWESOME Donuts
Best plate lunch in town!
The food is good and there are different price points. The location makes it hard to converse if the place is packed. Our server on the day didn't check on is but the other wait staff seemed attentive to their tables and even helped us when our server disappeared.
Excellent lunch! More food than I can say grace over. Must try the cornbread. Best I've ever had. Vegetables were amazing. Loved biscuit. Desserts looked like perfection, but I had to settle on just looking since I'm watching my sugar intake. This is a must visit when in Downtown/East Village. More...
We tried the brunch all you can eat!!! Amazing food and staff!! The atmosphere was great as well loved the decor
I must first disclose this fact that you may find disturbing: I hate biscuits. So I was a little worried about heading to a place named for biscuits that are as large as a cat's head. (I do love cats, though.). I also love brunch/lunch, when you can get the best of both meals. Sunday brunch/lunch was delicious. My plate was piled high with brisket, greens, grits, squash, purple hull peas, a chicken strip (I also dislike chicken and waffles--I'm a former Yankee--sorry!), and a biscuit. Wish I could say the biscuit changed my mind about biscuits, but alas, no. Still find them bland and depressing. Everything else was fantastic. Dessert was a warm cinnamon roll. Delightful. I would have gone back for seconds but knew I would regret it. Friendly and diverse crowd and warm service--so happy to see this part of town being packed on a Sunday! More...
My wife and I tried it one more time for Sunday brunch and maybe third time was the charm!I'll keep this short and quick.- All of the food was nice and hot. Everything we tried was really good. They even did a "perfect bite of grits, greens, and pulled pork" that was delicious. Some things could have used more salt, but pretty much everything we ate (brisket, chicken, shrimp and grits, greens, pulled pork, etc.) was really, really good. Much better than our previous visits. GET THE CREME BRULEE DONUT! TRUST ME! Also, BEST BRISKET in Little Rock...no question about it.-We got there around 10:15am. It wasn't packed, but was about 75-80% full I would say and we still waited 20 minutes in line to get our first plate. The line eventually died down to where you could get another plate of food with little to no wait. My suggestion is just don't come right at the peak hours. However, with such short hours, it might always be busy. Have your waiter/waitress bring your frozen drink AFTER you get back to your seat.-Atmosphere is still really loud, but you just gotta know that coming in. Everyone, staff and patrons, seemed to be having a great time, which adds a great charm to the place.-Would there be some things I would still change? Yes. But it's not my restaurant. There are still some kinks, but they're figuring out the food which should be paramount. I'm glad we gave it another-another chance. Super tasty and had a great time.Over $20 per plate for brunch is not cheap. However, you CAN and WILL get full and enjoy the food. You just might have to wait a little bit. So gald there's a place like Cathead's in Little Rock. More...
I told my coworkers about Cathead's and they loved it. Great atmosphere and great food. I have had the strawberry donuts, strawberry is not my favorite but these were great.
Lendi Courson Wells
Absolutely the BEST meal I have had outside of the hubs. The BEST food, service, and atmosphere! Not very often that you find the owner walking around making sure everything is having a great experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was my first experience with cuisine in Arkansas. It was recommended by a friend for their delicious breakfast menu. My girlfriend had the Cathead biscuit breakfast sandwich. She loved the biscuit but found the homemade sausage patty a bit too spicy for her. I happily polished it off for her (it had smoky and chocolate notes, and a pleasent heat to finish). I ordered the cheese grits with barbecued pork and "Cajun grilled tomato", which was delicious and hearty. The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and attentive. When they discovered that I was from out of town they insisted that I try the pulled pork on its own so they brought a sample to the table (heavenly!) and strongly recommended that I try their creme brûlée donut. I pulled the trigger and was rewarded by a fluffy, complex donut. It's a bit sturdier in texture than some other donuts I've had since, but the flavors are wonderful. Also, the coffee was strong and flowed freely. I strongly recommend you give this place a shot. Long time breakfaster, first time luncher and BOY am I glad I stopped in. Today was chicken n' dumplings, fried chicken, chicken livers, and pulled pork. I got the fried chicken, some mashed potatoes, green beans, WHOLE fried okra (whaaaat?!), and some cornbread. It's like my dang mama cooked me lunch!!! I have on good word from my grandmother that the chicken livers are out of this world, and my mother herself liked the chicken n' dumplings. Win win win all the way around folks! I got a cocktail too, because I'm off work today and I thought I might as well. Blueberry lemonade, sparkling water, double shot of vodka, all delicious. Summer in a cup!All in all, I stand by my five start review. I love this place so damn much. More...
check it out! Nice place. clean
Southern food done frou frou style in a cafeteria line. Great food, but it's extremely NOISY/LOUD in here due to the warehouse acoustics of this place. Our party of six was having to yell at each other to even conversate during lunch. The food off the line was all delish, though, and it seems even great care was taken to the sides (veggies) as well as the main courses.A hearty Bon Appetit-o! THREE RBI TRIPLE FOR THE GO AHEAD RUN!This place is exceptional! Traveling last week for business I happened to be staying close by and someone suggested I try this diner for breakfast. It was the right thing to do, brother. Man, it's good!I had two scrambled eggs, which were cooked perfect - nice a fluffy. That wasn't the best part, though. The cook sprinkled some spices on top (sounded like a spice off the shelf) and man, it exploded with flavor! It wasn't spicy-hot, but had a good flavor to go with the eggs. I also had the cheese grits. They were made with rice grits, spices and finely shredded cheese and were very hearty. I also had a famous cathead biscuit. I was expecting one of those huge, flaky biscuits you see on TV, but it was better. The breading was more flavorful and somehow more "dense" than a typical biscuit. Then to top it off, the waitress brought me some apple butter to go with the biscuit!! I'm not sure, but it could have been homemade apple butter. Wow, it was good. The waitress, Leslie, was fast, friendly, and engaging. I highly recommend this place. More...

I absolutely Love this place. We have eaten here on multiple occasions since they opened. It's wonderful to see another building in our downtown area to be revitalized and repurposed. I completely support our local restaurant. The food is delicious always fresh. The pies and cakes just top it all off. And it's simple yet beautiful on the inside. People need to remember you pay for what you get, this is quality food, and by going to local establishment you are putting money back into our community. The staff are super friendly it gets busy for Saturday and Sunday brunch but it's completely worth the wait and you can try everything. This place is Yummy!!! More...
5 stars well earned. We live right in the area and just ride our bikes to have breakfast or lunch. Check out the buffet on the weekends, it's awesome. Best comfort food in Little Rock! Hands down
Cathead’s aint no joke. This is like a country breakfast if it were served in Boulder, CO. Is there such as thing as gourmet southern faire? Great food, and a staff that went above and beyond to make sure that my visit was fantastic! This place will be making a mark on the food scene in Little Rock!!!!
The smoked meatloaf is excellent, and the mashed potatoes are great. I had the creme brulee donut and my niece had the sprinkle donut both were delicious.
This place is not bad! Its a little spendy and the line take a really long time to get through. Although its all you can eat brunch from 11am-2pm by the time you make it through the line the first time its doubtful youll want to go back through it again.
AMAZING. Chef was so friendly
Wow...where do you begin? Everything is absolutely delicious. I decided to concentrate on just my favs instead of loading up on a little of everything. They serve donuts to patrons waiting in line and fresh baked cinnamon rolls to seated patrons as they come out of the oven. I actually planned on taking pictures of my prepared plate. I inhaled it so quickly, I had to take pictures of my kid's plates because they eat much slower. I would definitely get the frozen mimosa with my meal. It is wildly refreshing.Update: 8.18.18Went to Cathead for brunch with the girls & the food was just as fabulous as the first time I dined at the establishment. That Saturday they had smoked ribs and shrimp grits. I have never had shrimp grits but I am a seafood enthusiast so I asked the food line server to give me a bowl that had an additional shrimp...When I tell you she went over to the pot & spooned out a ladle of shrimp, I near about died! What customer service and the dish was addictive. One of my favorite restaurants in Little Rock now. Definitely one to take potential clients from out of town. More...

Omg the food is amazing! The employees are amazing, everything is well organized. Mimosas, Bloody Marys . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The most tender brisket I have ever put in my mouth, was absolutely delicious! Desserts were over the top! Salted Caramel Cake was moist and delicious. We will return!
Went here this morning after my sons taekwondo, with the intention of getting donuts to go and leaving. My son asked if we could stay and eat instead and I’m sooo happy he did. The food is great and the service is some of the best service we’ve had in a long time. The whole staff was so friendly and helpful (I’d never been to a brunch buffet before). From the waitresses, servers, to the GM, to the owner, everyone was very friendly and made it a happy environment. And the food, omg, YUM! With us both being picky eaters I was surprised that we loved everything we tried. Good ole southern food, I wish we met the chef too so I could tell them how great the food was! Last but definitely not least, we did do what we originally intended and got a box of about 15 donuts to go. All I can say is WOW! All of them were so amazing but the creme brulee donut is hands down the best donut I have ever had in my LIFE! They only had 2 left (which we got both of them, lol) and now all I want to do is go back and get more. I will wait til a weekday though, so I can get me a unicorn donut. Because yes, they have a unicorn donut on the weekdays!!!!! I do not usually do reviews. I might tell some verbally if I found a place I like, but I had to give one for Cathead’s Diner! This place gets 5 stars and we will be going back very soon! And you should too if you love yourself! More...

I went here yesterday for the first time and absolutely loved it. The ribs were the best i've had in LR. The eggs cooked to order were perfect. The creme brulee donut was amazing. This is my new favorite restaurant in LR and i can't wait to go back! More...
Food line was quick. Service was attentive. Food is very good. Excellent meat and three concept.
Loved the catfish and the key lime pie
If you are looking for the biscuit of all biscuits... then you’ve found it. They fried chicken on the biscuit is as perfect as having picks 1-10 in a fantasy league draft. The fluffy biscuits are better than drinking some Yoo-Hoo on the badminton fields with your friends. 13.8 / 10 More...
We've been searching for ribs that's comparable to what we ate in Texas. Best ribs I've had since a recent visit to Austin, TX. Best shrimp and grits I've had since my visit to Myrtle Beach, SC. We are going back this Saturday and we have already recommended Cathead's to others. Enjoyed the experience!!! More...
Went here last Sunday around 130pm (just 30 mins before closing) and thought that the food will be scarce by that time...and I was wrong! The brisket was the bomb! I had it with cheese grits, potatoes, bacon, bread pudding and biscuit n gravy. Yeah I had different kinds desserts! Everything was delicious. The service was superb! Owner stopped by gave me a high five and a coffee. Everything was on point. The decor and atmosphere was great as well. Definately coming back. A great addition Little Rock for sure. More...

Went for brunch, definitely go hungry. The food, service and atmosphere were great.
I’ll be honest here, I don’t care for brisket. Never have. Chef Ferneau has changed my mind; I never knew it could be so delicious! Brunch today was my first visit here. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every cent! People that know me are fully aware that I do NOT wait at a restaurant; this fat boy will go somewhere else before doing a long wait. If you’re here for brunch you’re going to be waiting. Again, it’s worth it! I can’t wait to go back again should I ever happen to be hungry again. I ate way too much, but it was too good to stop. Thank you Chefs Ferneau and Marks. Keep up the good work. More...
