I had the Cubano sandwich with the black bean soup instead of fries and it was outstanding. I tried a little of everyone else's food at my table and it was all incredibly delicious. I was too full to order dessert, but someone at my table ordered the flan and encouraged me to try a bite and oh my god was it AMAZING. Would highly recommend! More...

Solid Cuban food in Boise. My friend and I visited Casa Blanca Cuban Grill for dinner, and we had a nice time here. We visited on a Sunday evening and the place was packed because of a large birthday party, which took up all the tables in the center of the dining area. The party was having a great time, singing aloud, dancing in their seats and even the staff was joining in. Fun! The menu had a lot of classic Cuban dishes, with a full bar, including local and imported beers and drink specials. For dinner I ordered the classic roasted pork dish, the puerco asado, which came with rice and beans, yuca and grilled onions. I also ordered a side of the plantains with.It didn't take long for us to get our food and everything smelled good. The roasted pork dish was tender and good, but wasn't as juicy as I thought it would be. It was a tiny bit dry, but the lime juice from the yuca really helped add some flavor, as did the roasted onions on the pork. I ended up adding some hot sauce for some extra spice and flavor. Of the entire dish I liked the yuca the best. It was very soft and loved the lime flavor that it was cooked in. The side of plantains unfortunately, was something I wouldn't order again. It was overcooked, so had a candied flavor to it. I wished the plantains had been more plump and soft versus sticky. My friend ordered the fricase de puerco, which was a pork stew with rice, beans and plantains, which I had a bite of. Her stew was made with a creole sauce, which was fantastic; she really enjoyed her meal.Glad to have checked out Casa Blanca for some Cuban food, a cuisine I don't often have. Casa Blanca serves lunch and dinner, has a large private parking lot and there is a private room for parties and such. Staff were super friendly. My husband and I were searching for a new restaurant to try so when this popped up we were pleasantly surprised. The food is DELICIOUS and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend the papas rellenas for an appetizer and the pechuga de pollo a lá plancha. The sweet plantains are to die for! Highly recommend for a quiet and delicious meal. More...

Although I don't live in Boise I think of this restaurant often! Whenever I am visiting the Boise area I try my best to stop by and have a quick bite. It is homemade and authentic. The customer service is excellent and they have a variety of dishes to choose from. On occasion I have shown up with about seven people and they have been quick to accommodate a large group.
