I took a few weeks to come up with my feedback because I think that an evaluation is only useful and fair once enough time has passed by and the results of the consultancy are visible.
I want to start by saying that the coach I was assigned to was and continues to be completely amazing and kind and that her optimism and advice were useful. The CV that was nicely drafted and well put and the Cover Letter was also well written. However, I also have to say that I didn't find Career Joy services to be effective in my job search and that I honestly wouldn't recommend hiring Career Joy to to anyone that is looking for help with their job search.
While, as I've already said, working with my coach was nice I don't feel that the Foundation program helped me in my search. I can imagine how for some of your customers the insights and tips that Career Joy provides might be new and unfamiliar. However, for other more digitally aware and connected generations, the advice provided comes up as generic and outdated since most of the tips and recommendations (such as reaching out to recruiters directly on LinkedIn or connecting with people from inside the companies you applied to) are things that are already recommended on resources that available online for free or are easy to find in tutorials around youtube or other social media.
In this sense, the experience provided ends up not being as useful as it was initially promised. At a price point of 1,500.00 CAD, I feel like the value offered for the money is not the best.
I went with them because I saw they had pretty great reviews (when I was doing my research I was only able to find a "bad" review at reddit which TBH is quite similar to the experience that I had--> https://www.reddit.com/r/ottawa/comments/ac77fr/career_joy_reviewsfeedback/). However, knowing what I know now I probably wouldn't have payed for a full program and instead would have hired the CV services and Cover Letter drafting.
The service that I hired has already ended and in that regard, there is not much that can be done but I really hope my feedback helps other people consider their options a little bit better and maybe even helps them to take a look into their program and improve the experience for future customers.

I wanted a career change and decided to look for a professional coach in Montreal. I didn’t have to research a lot as I landed in CareerJoy website. For starters I loved the name and after reading all the website and the reviews my mind was already made up. It’s all very “human”, I got a call fromA person in HQ who walked me through the programme. 2 days after I signed up for a 7 session programme. My coach is Garen Jemian and it was perfect. We connected straight away, I felt so comfortable with him since minute 1. I loved his positive , enthusiastic supportive attitude. He was able to read me and see what I needed and focus on my weaknesses. He’s very knowledgable, very observant and respectful. We had the same goals in mind and he was flexible enough to change them on the go as I needed more help on a certain topic. For instance, the day we should have practised my interview I was going to discuss my salary with my CEO and I needed a strategy so we went over all the scenarios. It gave me the confidence and strength I needed for that conversation. I didn’t get all I wanted but I felt very proud on how I handled it (thanks Garen). I got other things that I was not counting on thanks to Garen’s strategy but he gave me the most important thing empowerment and clarity to see my and goals .I didn’t get the salary I wanted and think I should have, but I was able to negotiate in a very strong way. Thanks to Garen’s sessions I was able to focus on my next step and started looking for a job which me to look for a job landed an interview in 48 hours. The whole team is really professional and supportive. I have finished my sessions with a completely different mindset. If you have a student in your life that isn’t sure what learning path to take this is for them. They assigned me coach Kevin Schafer who shared similar industrial background, and the two coaching sessions I have gone through so far are very informative in terms of strategies in networking and job application. This is not a magic course that will give you THE Answer to what you are looking for. It really is like therapy but for work. This course helped me figure out what areas to apply myself in and what my strengths are. At the end of the day though, I still have to make a tough decision myself, regarding my future path. If you just want to be told what to do, this course isn't for you. If you are ready to work hard and search for what you want, then I would recommend this course.
