Thomas was nice, pleasant and professional in the initial interview. He seemed current and knowledgeable when we met which is why I chose to move forward with him. I ended up with one of his writers who also seemed pleasant and knowledgeable. She asked a lot of good questions about my past experiences and where I was looking to apply. I felt she was going to provide a really good product. Not sure what happened in between because I never saw any drafts from her. I was told a draft was sent to Thomas for his review. When I spoke to Thomas he said he had a different idea of where he wanted to go with my resume. After some time, I did not hear from anyone. When I sent a follow-up email, Thomas finally responded and apologized for the delay. He sent me his draft, said he was going on vacation and would touch base with me when he returned and would provide a complimentary coaching. After reviewing the draft, I thought it to be mediocre. I did not feel as if it was a resume that best represented me, my skillsets or my extensive work experience. Thomas went on vacation and never followed up. I found Tom to be delightful in our initial meeting and thus why I opted to go with Career Thinker over the others who had submitted proposals. Ultimately, I just wasn't happy with the assigned writer; I had to spell check and correct grammatically more than expected for the price I paid. I had to update much of the format and even had to chase her down a bit in order to get deliverables completed. Tom had mentioned that he would be part of the process but wasn't and no one ever reached out to see if I was satisfied. I had a couple of my recruiter colleagues critique and all thought it was overpriced for what was delivered and ALL vehemently agreed that excluding my current professorship role from my experience is a huge mistake. Extremely Professional. Razor Edge Performance. UNBELIEVABLE Customer Service!!!!! I was truly impressed with MYSELF after seeing my New Resume! !!!! If you are in a mid-career change or just starting your career, there is lots of excellent information you can use here on delivering a great impression of yourself to others and telling your story, getting your head in the game, and using tools available. It is unfortunate that I've only been to two of his seminars. I say it is unfortunate because I wish I've had more opportunities to pick this man's brain. Tom is truly a master of his craft, his information will vastly change your view on how to proceed with finding a job, and his skill set will prepare you for it. I suggest if you have the opportunity to go to one of his seminars, that you do so ASAP. I'm sure that if you can hire him privately it will increase your rate of success tenfold. I went to my first Career Thinker workshop at the NY Public Library last month and liked it so much that I ended up attending all five workshops--Resumes, Linked-in, Cover and Thank You Letters, Interviewing and Networking. Each one was packed full of valuable information for my job search. The pointers I received improved my job search, and I've seen results already. The information presented is current, relevant and in-depth, and the engaging way that Thomas shares his powerpoint presentations made each workshop a pleasure.
