We've ate at the Captains table for years, never been disappointed in the food...From the prime rib to the breakfast always great food.
Awesome Crabcakes, great view. excellent all around.
Very nice dinner. Not overly crowded, wonderful views, friendly service staff, and food quality was great. Being able to hear the music from the bar downstairs did deter from the ambience somewhat, but we were very delighted over all with the meal and experience.
Food was excellent , service good. Pianists was superb. Lovely view, enjoyed it. Will be back many more times.
Keren our server was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable about menu. We loved it.
The service was wonderful! Our server was busy, but still very attentive. The food was great! Personally, I think it’s a little over priced, but it was prepared perfectly!Drinks were delectable!
Best sunset you‘re gonna find in the area. Great service. Very good food and wine selection
Great service provided by Keith. Scallops were delicious, NOT overcooked and plentiful as well as a great price. Grouper also excellent and a great value.
Loved this place. Our party got there rather late and the staff stayed late to accommodate us. Older woman at the bar playing piano was a nice touch. The bread and butter was delicious and the chowder was THE BEST EVER! Big chunks of seafood in a sauce to die for. The salmon was amazing and my husband's chicken dish was delicious too. It's a bit pricey but worth it. More...
The escargot and lamb was excellent. The chowder was thick and full of seafood, very good. The meal started with crunchy bread and sweet butter. The decor is very nice and elegant. The views can't be beat. The service was impeccable. The o my complaint I had is my steak was ordered well done and had to be sent back two times as it was rare each time. But once it was cooked to order it was very good. Prices are on the more expensive side. There is live music curtesy of a piano player. Very mice atmosphere. More...
Rather quiet last Friday at lunch. Service good and not overly attentive. Great view of the harbor and bay. Food well prepared and presented. Great place to entertain.
Great view of the Peace River - strong emphasis on seafood. Can sit indoors or out; restaurant is probably 20 feet above the river. A little on the pricey side for Punta Gorda, yet fancier than most places between the view and the ambiance (leans toward the romantic). Many different types of seafood appetizers and main dishes. They do have other choices; but that's not the specialty. They have a full bar. At the time we went, a piano player, friendly wait staff - and good food. There's enough variety on the menu to suit everyone - about 12-15 different entrees.I've seen some of the reviews talk about making reservations and the crowds. Can't speak to that; we went in June for my wife's birthday - off-season in Punta Gorda; place was nearly empty - got to banter with the waiter quite a bit. More...
It's been about a year since I dined at the Captains Table and having the day off of work yesterday wanted something different we decided to try it again for lunch. The remodeling of the inside dining room is just gorgeous and you could never complain about the beautiful harbor views. It's always my favorite place to sit with the gorgeous view of the harbor. We started off with the captains margarita flatbread, tomatoes, garlic, basil and fresh mozzarella with a balsamic glaze. It came out fresh piping hot and just perfectly crisp. We then went for the Caesar Salad with a piece of grilled salmon. The romaine was perfectly crisp with delicious parmesan crisps and toasted rye crostini bread. The salmon cooked perfectly with beautiful grilled marks and it had that perfect char on the outside. I have to say this by far was the best caesar salmon I've had in a long time. The service was great and the server was super friendly and on the ball. Captains Table is differently back on my list ! More...
Overall this place is pretty good it's at the end of fishermen's Village and it's upstairs although it does have an elevator if you need one. You can sit on the back patio on the second floor and you have a very nice view of the sunset or the water depending on the time of day. The food is pretty good although the beef tenderloin appetizer wrapped in bacon is very much overcooked although the staff did warn us about that. The captains chowder was really good although it could've been a little hotter it was very tasty. The waiter his name was Richard he was a really nice guy and very attentive . I did not have any main course meals here although the appetizers were nice and the lava cake dessert was definitely pretty good. More...
It was hard getting a read on this place because the reviews were/are all over the place! You really can't base a review on your drink since most places have more than one and they change often. My advice is if you don't like your drink, send it back! You also can't base a review on the prices because it's all relative. If you're a cheapo then you may find someplace pricey that I won't. (I'm not cheap)You have to base it on the food, service, decor, etc. It's not rocket science. Well for some I guess it is. So here is a real, honest, review. We sat outside which was great because it was a perfect night. Beautiful view of the sunset and passing boats. Our waiter was tip top. Brought our drinks right away and took our orders promptly.I love rum so I ordered rum drink. I forgot which one. Maybe a rum runner. Holy cow! Talk about rum overkill! OK, so I guess their bartender needs some lessons. Moving on.I had the Oysters Rockefeller and they were perfect! For my main I had the grilled salmon with a brown sugar marinade. It was just the right amount of crispy. It came with a mushroom risotto and steamed broccoli. My daughter had the coconut shrimp the was slightly on the overcooked side and the grilled Captains Platter. A nice assortment of grouper, scallops, shrimp, and I forget what else. My daughter said it was, "good."My only other complaint was that they only had regular coffee. No cappuccino or espresso. Seriously? Who doesn't have those two It's definitely, "touristy" or rather placed right into a touristy spot. But all of the food was, "good." None of it blew up my skirt, but I'd go back just for the outside view. They also offer valet parking but you have to pull all the way up to the front of the restaurant. Be careful because there are a lot of people walking about. More...
Trendy place; Lovely waterfront view; outdoor seating available. The waitstaff is friendly and prompt. The menu offers something for everyone both for beverages and cuisine. Great presentation delivered by helpful waitstaff. More...
My husband and I moved to Punta Gorda about 10 months ago and we try to go out for lunch or dinner every other week or so. Tonight, we tried The Captain's Table and we were delighted with our meal! We cannot comment on drinks from the attractive bar, because we only drink iced tea. The tea was really good and we do tend to be picky about the quality or lack of in restaurants. Silly, but that's just us. Our wait-person was Melanie. She did an excellent job, bringing hot bread and honey butter to the table, took our orders promptly and advised us wisely. We enjoyed our filet of beef with crab and hollandaise, served with really delicious garlic mashed potatoes and correctly cooked asparagus. So many places cook vegetables into inedible mush, but this asparagus was al dente and good! We were offered additional bread, refills on our delicious iced tea and dessert menus. Melanie made our evening perfect and so did the chef in the kitchen. We will DEFINITELY return...with friends next time! More...
Food was very good....service was good....view was amazing.....did not appreciate server pulling shade but we could still see the sunset ....awesome piano player, wish we could of heard her but the table by use was quite rowdy ....but we'll be back for sure ! More...
Have been dining here for a few years now and used to think that the food was absolutely dreadful. In the past year or so, they must have changed chefs or owners. The place has been completely renovated and for the first time, it is worth paying the higher prices for that beautiful view. The place looks great and the food is wonderful. They have had the same pianist for many years who is extremely talented. Our family is always pleased at the Captain's Table, now. Great job to the staff and owners! More...
The meal was amazing. We got a view of the sunset over the water from our table, which was beautiful. The waitress was friendly, professional, and attentive. I cannot believe that the restaurant was empty because it was a fantastic experience. The decor was interesting but wildly classy. I was delighted by every little detail. Even with a party of seven, we had an experience that blew us away. I cannot wait to for my next experience! More...
Five of us went for a mother's day brunch food was excellent raw oysters, prime rib, salad and much more. Service excellent as well. Only criticism would be that with a brunch there is usually an egg dish. Despite no eggs it was a wonderful lunch! More...
Great place, great view! I had the special, corvina and it was baked to perfection. Calamari with sweet and sour sauce was excellent. Service was top notch and the executive chef came twice to ask if everything was ok. Highly recommend. More...
This is one of our favorite places to visit in Punta Gorda! Today we were happily surprised by the updated decor inside and out. Our server, Brandy, went out of her way to be kind and personable and we really appreciated her "extra mile." The food was delicious and perfectly portioned. Will we be back to enjoy this lovely gem? You bet! More...
We came here for the lobster grilled cheese on their lunch menu. It didn't disappoint!!! Richard took good care of us. We've been coming here for years and it's always great.
First, the view is spectacular! The food was great - if you like calimari you'll love theirs. Twin lobster tails were great, staff was attentive. My only complaint was the lighting. Harsh and cafeteria like. Great evening! More...

I lunched here with my grandma last Friday. My grandma is a regular and insisted I order the salad with the COCONUT VINAIGRETTE.... it did not disappoint! It turns out she has pretty good taste. The coconut perfectly juxtaposed the blackened shrimp, the bold Gorgonzola and the juicy tomatoes. So the food seems to be all around excellent quality and flavor. Portion size was decent for a lunch salad, but a little pricey! I dropped a star for the service. We were not read the daily specials that we heard another table getting. And the waitress was a little less than sociable. Also, while the portion size was adequate for me, I'm not sure it warranted the price. You are definitely paying for views and atmospheres... and that coconut vinaigrette! More...
Location, Location, Location!I visit the Captains Table at least once a season as it is a great meeting spot for my Naples pal. What a wonderful surprise to see a major remodel took place over the summer. The bar is all opened up, everything is modern and contemporary. Very fresh feeling. They take a reservation via Open Table and that is a great thing to do in season. We were able to sit outside with a view of the water. So lovely. Service is consistently good, they all hustle when it is busy. My only disappointment is that the menu has also become a bit more "trendy" or contemporary. I missed some of the more basic offerings. Same ownership has a more casual open air restaurant on the first level. Seating there is along the lines of tables and benches. It's ok, we just prefer to be more comfortable upstairs. There are golf cart shuttles to get people from the parking lots if you need it. I will be back! More...
Great food, fantastic waterfront views......husband had the Chilean Sea Bass and he thought it was the best he ever had. I had chicken and it was really good - nice taste of honey on it. Good service, nice and clean place. We will definitely be back. More...
Loved the special salad and the corn chowder was exceptional. Wait person was wonderful and everyone was very friendly. Ate out on the deck. Great ambiance's. Beautiful. Thanks More...
I have been there several times now. I have only had sea food grouper scallops shrimp all have been good. The prices are fair especially lunch $13 for a grouper sandwich with a side seems pretty fair . Our table also had captain's plate $16 again for a bay view resterant its good. The crowd there is older and the decor is dated More...
Horrible!!!Made reservations almost a week in advance, called to verify party of 6 same day as reservation, upon arrival they didn't know who we were.Requested window table ... not available.Sat there for 45 minutes when the hostess came over and asked what party we were with No waiter, no water, nothing but totally ignored. We left. We enjoyed our dinner very much, the view was fantastic, and the service was fine. We especially appreciated the ability to have a quiet conversation while we ate. Will definitely go there again.
Met with friends for a Christmas get-together and since I was the one who picked the place, I was overjoyed when everyone fell in love with the Captains Table. Everyone's food was perfect. One of the ladies who rarely eats much ate everything on her plate because it was so delicious. The service was friendly and we didn't feel rushed. The view is wonderful, as well as the atmosphere. Everyone wants to make this restaurant our go-to place. As a side note, my husband and I just returned from a transatlantic cruise and I would say the food, atmosphere, and service matched what we experienced on our wonderful cruise. Don't miss The Captains Table. More...
We were there for Mother’s Day and had an excellent meal & Service. Yesterday, the service left a lot to be desired (apologies from the waitress don’t cut it). We were celebrating a birthday last night, so was hoping it would be a special experience. The food was good, but not excellent. We were planning to bring my mother here for her birthday on December 20, but we will find somewhere else to take her after last nights experience. More...

I had the Captains platter blackened, the flavor was great!
Amazing view out in the patio for sunset! Megan was an amazing waitress, we had a wonderful experience! Watching the sun go down over the water with great good & company made us realize the Captain's Table is quickly going to become one of our favorite spots! Definitely asking for Megan again next time we come, she was so great! Personable, kind, helpful...she really took good care of us & we can't wait to come back! Check out my pix to see what yummy creations we feasted on. I'll continue to add more pics as we work our way through the menu! I cannot remember what the titles were of our dishes but they were both tasty! Definitely glad we stopped in after house hunting! More...
We went hear knowing that the restaurant was renovated. We loved the new open look. The bar area is nice and open. The food was good, but we missed the seafood specials they used to have.
First time in years that we went out for Thanksgiving. We were seated immediately and had our drink order taken and served within minutes. Great selection on the buffet and almost everything we tried was very good. The ham was a bit dry. Had a great water view. Price was good for the variety that was offered Would not hesitate having another Thanksgiving meal here. More...
We had a late 6:45 reservation because of last minute plan change. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did. At the same time an employee said Do not take their table, no more people to be seated. The hostess said they have a reservation. This was offsetting as we could see a number of vacant tables. There was no soup or salad on the buffet. The meats were good, moist and well seasoned but the desserts were grocery store type and there was no fruit. The buffet was mostly carbs. Our waitress was very excellent and attentive. We felt the meal was overpriced for the menu. Golden Coral serves the same type of buffet for 1/3 the price. More...
The food and drinks were fantastic! Service was great!
Good service, great food, lovely views ... life is good,
We enjoyed our dinner outside on the deck where we could watch the sunset and boats coming and going into the harbor. It was a warm, beautiful evening, with excellent service, food, and drinks. The Escargot was outstanding! It was quite filling so I had the Coconut Shrimp for my main course and it too, was delicious. My husband had the swordfish topped with Mango salsa and he didn't leave a single bite! We look forward to returning again soon! More...
We waited 20 minutes for our table although we had a reservation. The staff didn’t offer us bar seats so we were left standing while we waited. My steak was charred and our server didn’t notice missing vegetables. Not a memorable meal! More...
The Captain’s Table is located at the Fisherman’s Wharf in Punta Gorda. The only negative thing I can say is that there was difficulty in finding parking. On the evening that we were there, there was the first night of the mall’s Holiday Lights Festival. We had to fight the crowds to get to the Captains Table. What we hoped would be a relaxing evening was quite stressful.Three out of the four dinners were excellent. The Fruta Di Mare was not what was expected. On the disappointing side. More...
Good friends, good shopping, good food makes for a good day.
Not impressed with the food and price, even though the service and view were good. Told them it was my wife's birthday when I made the reservation, but there was not even an acknowledgment!
We always like stopping here when we visit Punta Gorda. Good food and service. Great view of the water!
I have been going there for 17 years, and it was always one of my favorite places. I will never go back. They partially remodeled it and did nothing but make things worse. From the girls who greeted us with a bad attitude, to lousy service, to kitchen mistakes to a menu which did not include one single entrée or appetizer that I would order - it was a horrible evening. The following evening - Laishley Crab House (the same owners) - everything was great.JamesF More...
Myself and eight other friends went to the Captains Table after we heard of the big change to the overall ambiance of the bar and dining area. That was certainly the case! Everything is cleaner and more convenient to diners and barflys. The construction removed all the odd steps and different levels in the place and it is indeed a nice place to look at with great views of the water. Sadly, that was the best part of the visit. We should have been tipped off by the half empty restaurant on a Friday night. We've been there many times and it was always packed, especially on Fridays when the offered the seafood buffet.Sad point # 1. The seafood buffet has been discontinued. It was great but the menu changed and out goes the seafood buffet.Sad point # 2. It took over an hour after we were seated to get our food. There's no way it should have taken that long with the number of actual customers that had in the place. They're going to be in big trouble when (and if) the place is full when the snow birds come back.Sad point # 3. It appeared there were only 2 or maybe three waiters for all the tables. Granted, half the tables were empty but there's a lot of space to cover. There should have been more wait staff. Again, watch out for the disaster in the making come January and the season.Sad point # 4. I ordered a New York strip and it was so tough I could barely cut it. It had so much gristle in it it was barely chewable. Others complained of cold mashed potatoes which I can never understand. The plates must have been sitting out in the kitchen for pickup way too long. When the manager was told, he said he would bring more over to the table. Why would we want more cold potatoes?Sad point # 5. It took almost a half an hour to get our checks. We couldn't wait to get out of there.Be forewarned, this is not you parents Captain's Table. You will be disappointed. More...
Was expecting a better food experience after receiving favorable recommendations from a local. We are at another The night before that was excellent and was told this was better...maybe we were expecting too much.
I was a bit disappointed - the service was very slow & they weren't busy!
I was disturbed by our handling at the front desk. We had a reservation for four at 6:00 PM. We arrived a few minutes early. At first the hostess wanted to seat us in the bar. I said that would not be satisfactory and I would like a regular table close to the window so we could enjoy the view. She then tried to put us in one of your high top tables in the back section of the dining room. I again told her that this was not satisfactory. She then conferred with what looked like a manager and he put us in what was probably the most desirable table in the room. It was a great dinner and a great view. My only contention was that I had made the reservation over 24 hours in advance and that should have seated us with a little priority over walk-ins. I hate to have a good experience tainted with the action of a hostess who was unsure as to what she could do. Thank you for reading this, we have been dining in your restaurant since 1983 when it was Nightingale's and have seldom had a complaint. The new layout and entrance are a great improvement. More...
Fantastic venue with multiple bayside views. New upscale decor with matching menu to fit any palette.Server Megan was articulate and kind explaining the beers, also suggested some entrees that were popular.Observed chef mingling with customers all smiles with full tummys. We had Floridian chicken with grilled asparagus which was served with heaps of grilled vegetables. The Caesar salad was well dressed and left room for a heavenly almond cake dessert which presented with a torte and fresh whipped cream.Well worth the visit, perfect for a romantic meal with sunset views! Even better now that the remodeling has been completed. Our server was very attentive and did an excellent job. The view is just wonderful and there are many good choices on the menu.
Check out Trick or Treat on Trip Advisor 10/29/17 by Barb228
Food was good, service not so good. Wine was very slow in coming. Arrived after we had half eaten our appetizers. This seems to be an ongoing problem with this restaurant, they need to review their system. I think the bar tender gets into the act and if he is busy, the servers have to wait for him to finish. Also, our server seemed to have tables all over the place, it was hard to track her down if we needed something. More...
great service and good food, nice place to meet for lunch.
Staff is great. Food disappointing for the cost.
Very nice view and setting. Recommend for seafood. Fairly expensive. Definitely a special occasion only place fo us.

Revisited Captains Table for our anniversary. Our previous experiences were not at all good. This time we were delighted with our entire experience. The new décor is fresh and modern. The menu was great. It was hard to make a choice. Everything we ordered came cooked just right and just like the description on the menu. This will be one of our new go to places More...
Food was excellent, view great and our server, Melanie, very attentative. Will definitely take our visitors there and recommend to friends.
I got the salmon, which was pretty dry and mediocre. My friend got a seafood platter and her fish was woefully undercooked. The bar was nice - would be okay to meet there for a drink and the view. Later in the evening raucous music from downstairs really ruined the atmosphere of a quiet evening and clashed terribly with the piano music. Gave it 3 stars for the bar and view; 2 stars for the food. More...
A great seafood restaurant. I enjoy coming back here year after year .And they know how to make a great martini !
We were at the Captain's Table for a fundraising benefit in the very nice, new bar area, and then my husband and I had a quiet dinner afterwards. We use to love the Captain’s Table. We were disappointed when they did away with the Friday Buffet. We have eaten there many times in the past. This time was a total disappointment. The menu was not as good as before. Didn’t have as many choices. The prices have went up and the food was not as good as it use to be. Service was ok. In our opinion, the food quality was not the same as before and we were paying more money for less satisfactory food. We have a 40 minute drive to Punta Gorda. We will not be making that trip to eat at Captain’s Table. Not worth the drive. More...
We had a wonderful fish dinner. The red snapper was just perfect. The salads they served were chilled and well prepared. The view from the deck was fantastic. New renovations are great. Bartender wasn’t familiar with old menu and couldn’t make a drink to save her life. Waiter Bobby was great and tried to save the meal best he could. visited after it reopened after remodeling. Poor renovation job. Removed the salad bar. Opened up entire area. Still has the greatest view, but......Wine prices are out of sight, $42 was the least expensive. Dinners are now Ala-Carte after removing the salad bar. Food portions are smaller as well. New chef. We did not enjoy the food or service. Once seated we had to wait to get drinks and even during our meal we had to stop another waiter just to get our tea glasses refilled and even get our bill when done eating. They were not busy and we were not the only ones that were waiting on drink refills and food service. One couple at a table behind us even got up to leave before eating for they waited so long just for a waiter to even get something to drink. Maybe it was a bad day for this place or maybe it's a bad place to eat, I don't know but I do know I will never eat at this very high price place again! More...

Three of us went for lunch on Thursday and got a great table with a beautiful view of the harbor. We saw some dolphins swimming, almost like they were our entertainment. The food was good, we had the Cobb salad, the lobster grilled cheese sandwich (extremely tasty) and the lobster flatbread (special). Our server, Richard, was friendly and very accommodating (though he may have been bored because the place was very empty). I'm sure during the winter months it's a very different atmosphere, but we enjoyed the quiet meal and great service. More...

Great ambiance and service was terrific. Food was marginal to say the least. I had a grouper sandwich with a piece of very dry and tasteless grouper. My husband had a trio of fish which were very dry. We are not big eaters but I just say the miniscule amounts of grouper and scallops served was shameful for the price. We were a party of four and everyone felt the same. Will never go back. More...

The food was amazing and had a fabulous server Richard.
My first visit to the city of Punta Gorda and we visited the wharf shops and this fine place. Located at the very end of the wharf and on the second floor Captains Table offers inside and outside dinning with a beautiful water view.We came for lunch and I was looking for something different than the normal fish fare. So I ordered the Everglades Jambalaya. While it had the description as being made of Chicken, Shrimp, Andouille Sausage In A Savory Creole Sauce with Dirty Rice. I had once question and the name Everglades just screamed it must have alligator in it. So I asked and was told no alligator. But then they say alligator tastes like chicken. hmm. I enjoyed the savory stew, was told it was hot and spicy, It was not spicy. No big deal they do have to warn everyone these days for everything. It was a darn good jambalaya.Mrs. K. had fish and chips. What can I say they were fish and chips. Almost ubiquitous in SW Florida. They tasted just like any fish and chips I have eaten. Mrs. K. professed to fullness and could not possible eat another bite. That is how I got to taste the fish. We were finishing lunch and our excellent server came up and asked if we wanted anything more? I said no Mrs. said yes. Soooo she ordered Key Lime pie.I will say this having a taste of the pie it was one of the best Key Lime pies I have ever had. It was tart but not too tart just perfect flavor. More...

Great view overlooking the harbor, watched a couple of dolphins showing off. Our waitress was very attentive without being overbearing and the food was worth the money.
I made reservations on line relatively easy. This dinner was for my 96 year old mother and my 67th birthday. It was a special evening and I wish to thank you and your staff. Your two hostesses were great and found us a table that was just fine. Our waitress was a very nice young lady. The roasted prime rib and the white fish specials were both quite good, the asparagus was very tasty, so hat's off to the chef, and the salad had fresh and crisp vegetables. The ambiance was pleasant. However, the serrated steak knives were dull and both of us struggled to cut the prime rib. The waitress brought us two other ones, but they were dull too. It was actually easier to tear the meat into bite sizes with our tools. The waitress brought us a nice coconut cake with Happy Birthday written very nicely by her as well.If it weren't for the awkward dealings with trying to cut our meat, it was an enjoyable evening. I guess my only suggestion would be to buy some new knives.Thank you,Case More...
We were very pleasantly surprised with the food and the ambiance of the Captain's Table. It has been a couple years since we were last there and everything was wonderful starting with the service. Our dinners were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
good menu and reasonably priced. great Bloody Marys. It is all about the view and location that makes this special. Upstairs and outside on the water is stunning. The only problem was that we re in the couple of week period of Love Bugs and as the food arrived so did the bugs so w moved inside. This is Fla dining in April. Will always return. More...
Went there with my family and friends beautiful place clean great staff the view is amassing i would definitely recommend and revisit this location again.
Dinner with out of state friends on Saturday night, prime rib special was delicious. Calamari appetizer was excellent. Great service and nice ambience!
The Friday night seafood buffet was outstanding! Shrimp, salmon, sole, oysters, clams, and more. I'm glad we weren't in a rush, because the service was very slow. Very pleasant waiter, but slow.
great salads, nice service and fabulous views but wish they would update the decor.
Great Food Great View, right on the Water, and Great Service. Will be going back there.
Always great food, service, water view...... we are residents of PG; our favirite place to dine.... the wine is good too.
We get together with friends every year for our farewell dinner before heading up north . Meals were Outstanding !
Server was very pleasant but she was obviously overwhelmed. (we did not let that affect her tip however--as a matter of fact, we were quite generous --25%).Servere assumed that all 5 diners were going to be billed on one check. She should have asked about separate checks. Some diners came in after us and had their dinner served before we did. Table was OK but we would have preferred to be near a window--as requested when reservations were made. Pricing was "moderate to expensive" as expected. Chicken Marsala was not up to par. Rest of the party thoroughly enjoyed their choices. More...
Had lunch with friends. There is outside seating right on the water, great views, but opted for inside seating because it was windy. Had a great view out the window next to our table. The food was very good and plentiful. Jambalaya was first rate, as was the seafood platter. Oysters on the half shell were right on point: cold and fresh. Service was okay, with a couple of glitches but nothing catastrophic. We will definitely eat here again. More...
I love this restaurant. Whenever my family comes to visit this is where we go. Great food Beautiful view. Our server Ary was great
We sat on the deck, dinner reservations for 6:00. It was perfect...cloud cover came just enough to shade us from the glaring sun. Dolphins were playing in the water...nice breeze and beautiful view of the gorgeous sunset. Food was excellent as was our waiter . He was very attentive and really cared about our experience. More...
We met here with friends- 1/2 way for each of us. The service was excellent, very attentive without being overbearing. Everyone enjoyed there meals. Unfortunately we were seated next to some kind of party- and a little, maybe 3 year old, wasn't happy. Except for that- great experience. More...
Very happy. Took friend back next day for dinner. Loved all about it.
Love the restaurant, have been there a number of times. Unfortunately on this night our waiter was not very experienced, so service was slow.
Great location and food. Decor and. bathrooms bsdly need updating.
We were seated on the deck, perfect view of the sunset food was terrific just a great dinner in SW FL
We were very impressed with the food and service. We had the calamari and sea bass. It was wonderful!
Good food, great sunset view. Lots of shopping in Fisherman's Village.
This place was great for service, food and view of the sunset. The service was both attentive and friendly allowing as much time as you wanted then delivering the great food as it should be served.
We went on the sunset cruise at Fisherman's Village and after that we ate at the Captains Table. It was very good as always. Thank you
For the most part our group of 6 enjoyed the food. However, the angel hair pasta was way overdone and mushy. We did not tell our wait person and ate it anyway as we did not want to make a disruption in the meal. The shrimp in the entree were cooked nicely. We appreciated the quiet environment as we were visiting and playing "catch up" with our friends. More...
Everything here was outstanding, food, service, atmosphere, view. We sat on the deck and watched the sunset on our last night in FLorida. Couldn't have been a better pick for our last night. More...
Couldn't be more pleased. Reservation got us a table in the shade. Could carry on conversation with low noise level....Food was delicious. Kitchen accommodated special request from our friend. Life is good. More...
Our family get together was on the buffet night, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the view was amazing. The one downfall was that it took a long time for some of the entrees to get refilled. (fried clams & shrimp/scallop pasta) but everything else was very good. More...
Parfait pour un coucher de soleil, nourriture très bonne
We have eaten at The Captain's Table a few times over the years as a mid-way point to meet family between Naples and Sarasota. The location is very pleasant and the food is fine. My problem is the cleanliness. It is hard to appreciate the lovely view through very dirty windows. The fabric on the chairs is grimy and old. The windowsills are not taken care of often enough The bathroom needs a renovation. The woodwork needs a brightening up. It has the potential to be a much more beautiful place. Needs some TLC and a hygienic going over. More...
The food here is quite good However even though I give it stars for meeting friends,it's impossible to have a conversation because of the noise level and the confusion. You had to go way out by the door to use the restrooms, and dodge the very busy wait staff who, incidentally , handle the confusion beautifully. More...
Courteous and efficient staff, excellent table service, excellent food. All together fine dining experience!
Food was good. Salad bar was unkempt. Very sloppy from people putty food on plates. Dressings dropped on shelf where you would get it on your clothes. My wife brought it up to a worker and they said they were understaffed. Lol. Music was loud and more like rock dance music in a restaurant where you would expect slow dinner music in the background. Not for fine dining. Big disappointment. We planned on going there with 4 couples next week but after we told them our experience we decided to go elsewhere. More...
Was were a group of four and each had four different lunch items. All of them were excellent. The jambalaya was spiced perfectly. We had reservations for outside, but were discouraged from eating outside because of love bugs. We sat by a window and saw no love bugs outside. This was a bit disappointing. We were in very tight quarters. The server took out order and eventually someone brought out our food. We had needed drinks refilled but she never came back. So service was lacking. But the food was great. A great place to bring out of town guests. More...
Wonderful anniversary evening. Sat out on the deck and enjoyed the extraordinary harbor view. Had the Chilean sea bass which is always a winner. The salad bar and friendly service are an added plus. More...
We were seated in a timely manner. Waiter was very professional.
Wonderful food, excellent service, and beautiful sunset.
The view wa spectacular. The staff friendly and efficient. The food was good.Went to visit with family we sat outside the background noise was negligible so we had a great time catching up. We talked for hours and never felt rushed. More...
The Captain's Table has never been less than excellent when we have been there. Food and service is exemplary of ideal dining. It is always a pleasure.
We have been there a few times. The sunset view is remarkable. The food and food is always good.
Best Captains chowder. Food is delicious, salad bar is fresh. View is beautiful . John our server was friendly and entertaining. We'll be back.
Got there at 6:30 left at 10:00 slow slow slow, good food but slow
Ordinary food and drinks in a decent setting. This was a meeting place equi distant between Sarasota and Naples. Only reason to go to Punta Gordy.
Our table was ready & waiting in the perfect shady spot on the balcony. What a beautiful location & view!!
Very friendly service. The Chilean sea bass was good as I’ve ever had. All the ingredients in the salad bar were fresh and very good and were replenished as needed.
the view was awesome, even on a windy day. They have good salads for lunch, but the waiter made a few too many errors, and was SLOW.
Enjoyed dinner and the view as we sat out on the deck. Waitress was very attentive.
Great Salad bar, Food was excellent, it was hot and tasty, sides were awesome. Will put Captain's Table on our must return to list.Peggy, our waiter was outstanding. During the last 2 years staying here in the winter, we eat out and try various restaurants. We feel this is the best one so far. More...
It was a wonderful surprise to find this awesome restaurant with awesome food on the water with such reasonable prices! Sure wish we were closer to go more often!!!
We know Carlos over 20 Years and he is the best. And we are happy to see him when we are in Florida
A great place to meet.
A wonderful dining experience. Great sunset views & awesome meal. We had the best waiter...his name was Bob......very friendly & personable. Definitely an asset to the restaurant. Highly recommend this restaurant. More...
Had a great time with our snowbird friends!Good times, good food, great friends!!!
The restaurant has an excellent location but the décor is dated and dark and the food selection is no different than many restaurants in the area and actually may a little less quality. The service was excellent. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant at any time. More...
Great salad bar and terrific chef prepared entrees. Don't bother asking for a second salad bar for your spouse as the ill-trained young wait staff will fire back at you "that will be another $15.00 And don't bother trying to use a prepaid Visa card as the inexperienced and poorly trained staff will not be able to figure out what to do. Bring cash and you will be happier. The scallops with spices sweet sauce were first class. The view across the marina and bay are worth the visit alone. Our server John was adequate and thoughtful enough to have the chef split the entree for my daughter and husband and serve separate plates. Great job earned him a 30% tip but don't ask him to figure how to use a debit card. More...
Requested, reserved table was not available. We were seated elsewhere & were told we could move when requested shaded table came open. We moved on our own, no server assisted. The wait for our food was ridiculously long. Several requests for soup appetizer not fulfilled. One meal came out after at least 45 mins. It was sent back. Overcooked. Server asked us how the other meals were (?)--we hadn't received them yet! Server seemed surprised! Another several minutes passed. Three entrees arrived as did my soup! Mixed veggies were cool, seafood still over cooked, then excuse made for the long delays: 'the printer used to place order not working'. Oddly, several tables around us didn't seem to have such delays. Extremely disappointed with everything except the view of the boats on the harbor. More...
They were quite busy at 1:00 and we had a pretty long wait for our food. Other than that, all was great.
Took a while to get a server, but after getting up to find one, the server came and no other issues.
We all had fish and everyone commented that it was excellent. Salad bar was good but I was disappointed that they didn't have any spinach. Nevertheless everything appeared very fresh. Server was friendly and efficient. More...
Our server was the saving grace! Very pleasant and accommodating. Son's meal was great, he had the fruit de mare. My grouper had a metallic bad taste. Sent back and got the sautéed scallops which were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Salad bar was fresh and offered good variety. Ambiance is very dull and furniture needs to be modernized. More...
Server was attentive. Food was variable. Scallops were great. Oysters were tepid rather than cold. The shucker did not separate them from the shell, either.
Food and drinks were excellent. Waiter was very knowledgeable and personable. The view is beautiful
We drove from Ft. Myers to meet friends at Captain's table. Wonderful meal with excellent service at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.
we were meeting from College friends who have not seen each for years. Great place for this occasion. No one rushed us and we had a delightful late lunch
this was my 4th visit. I thought the quality of the food was just fair. Flatbread appetizer was extremely dry. Disappointed!!!
We have eaten at the Captain's Table several times - mostly with groups - and have been satisfied each time. Everything was very different this time. We had an early 5:00 dinner and the restaurant was not busy. We had a sweet server, but the service was the worst we have had anywhere. Nothing happened without us tracking her down. Do one came to our table for 15 minutes after we sat down. We finally got drinks and said we were ready to order. We had to call her back to the table twice and tell her again before she took our order. Our drinks were never refilled. The food came and was okay, but very average. Our dirty plates were not cleared. We ordered dessert and had to stack our own plates to make room for the dessert. What a disappointment! We love this location and want to go back, but we were taking a visiting friend for a birthday dinner, and it was embarrassing. We will hesitate to return. More...
Excellent food and service. Great few of the sunset!
We were having a family reunion with a cousin and her husband. The food was excellent, and our server, Wyatt, was outstanding. We called the manager to tell how much we enjoyed the food and the server. More...
The overall setting is really nice. Food was typical yet very good.
Always delicious food and great service. Fed a group from 16 to 96 years and everyone was happy.
Enjoyed sitting outside but more umbrella's are needed on a sunny day. Had the combo plate of grouper, scallops and shrimp. Very good key lime pie. Had lunch with a friend that we had not seen in years. Appreciated that we were not rushed. More...
We always loved Captain's Table, but, moved 45 min to 1 hr away and had not visited for a while. It was worth the drive and I can't wait to visit again. Food was done to perfection. It is now my favorite place for Ahi Tuna. Hubby had the locally grown pork loin and he was pleased with it. We could carry on a conversation and not need to shout. The view of the river is wonderful. The salad bar has some items that are not on the run of the mill salad bars and the quality was there just as it was with the dinner meal. Server was pleasant and patient with us. Hope to return soon. More...
We have been to this restaurant several times but this trip with special friends was way below the normal standard and very disappointing. Salad bar was poorly organized. Our server seemed new or easily distracted. Had to ask another server to get our server to bring our wine when we were all half done our meals. There didn't seem to be a manager on site to keep the serving staff organized and things running smoothly. There was one young female who we thought was in charge but she pretty much stood at a table of her friends and talked with them most of the time. I had the lamb which was really good other than two of the larger chops were raw, but was a large serving of chops. The lobster sauce was very bland and no flavour and the asparagus had a different sweet flavor. Like I said initially, this was a very unusually bad experience with this restaurant. We have never had a disappointing experience in the past but will not let this one bad experience keep us away. We will come back again because of our past experiences, but, if we have another experience like this last one, we will not return after that. More...
We had to send 2 dinners back because they were burnt and overcooked. We reorder another dish so we didn't get to eat together. It was disappointing - we complained to the manager. We felt that the interior needed updating. We have dined outside for lunch in the past and it had been a positive experience. Due to the last experience it probably will be a long time before we return. More...
The food and the service were both outstanding but this restaurant is badly in need of a renovation. The wonderful waterfront view doesn't quite makeup for the tired and dated décor.
Ordered surf and turf. Ordered filet mignon MEDIUM (hot pink center). Came out RAW. came back second time RAW. Manager cooked me a different steak himself which came out great, but by that time, my wife had finished her meal. Manager did not charge me for my meal. Sara, our waitress was great. Cook needs some lessons on how to cook steak. More...
We sat on the back patio. The view is terrific. Our waitress was wonderful. Very attentive and competent. And the food was great. Would definitely return.
We were meeting friends half way from Ft. Myers Beach and Venice.Worth the drive. Had an awesome lunch.
Attentive staff and helpful to get a better table. Sat inside with a great view of the Harbor and its boats coming in and out.Good selection of seafood ( nice and fresh of course) and salads and burgers for those meat eaters. More...
lovely atmosphere!! lovely view!!!Very good waiter!!!
Let me start by the other 5 times I have been here, all ratings would have been all 5's. To start we were seated as planned. When server took order she indicated it was her first solo night, which was fine and she was very pleasant. All went well until our food was brought out. We had 6 people, and they brought out six dinners. They passed out 4, then took several minutes trying to figure something out. The 4 people started eating, as it was chilly out and they were getting cold. Turned out one dinner was wrong, pork instead of steak, and the other was mixed up the difference fish, and the one was partially eaten by the time they figured it out. They said they would remake and rush the 2 meals out . About the time the others were done, the 2 remakes came out. The steak was suppose to be medium, and was cold red in the center. The fish was way undercooked as well. They recooked another fish and steak. The fish was still not fully cooked in the middle, and steak again cool red center. Now over 2 hours in, and everyone chilled, the person with the steak said forget it. They took the steak and fish off the bill, and offered free desert. Only one person took a desert, and took it to go as we had enough. The manager did come out a few times and apologized, but really should have comped the meal. As I started out, not normal for here, and I really do not blame the waitress. Needed a few more days shadowing. I am more concerned about the food preparation. You don't serve undercooked fish, and should be able to tell extremely rare from medium on steaks. This is not a cheap place and need to have competent cooks. More...
Beautiful view sitting outside at the water. Food was good. Our server was not attentive. Had to get our own tea refills, and ask other waiters to get our waiter. But luckily we wanted time to visit with friends and catch up, so it was nice to have extra time not to rush. Waitresses- waiter staff spread to thin in busy season. Still would recommend More...
Every thing was very good except our reservation was for 1 PM and we didn't get seated until 1:30 PM.
Very good food, and lovely views of the harbour.
Great food and excellent service. Bobbie was some. Enjoyed our dinner.
Service very good;however food Three fish trio dry. Could not eat grouper as it was so thin and dry.
Treated us great we were 12 people had a great time
We chose to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at this restaurant. We were not expecting a fine dining experience, but what we experienced was abysmal. The food actually was not too bad, but the service could not have been worse. No caring, no pride, no attention to detail. The General Manager was very apologetic and ended up comping our entire check. But, no good deed can replace a failure of a 25th Anniversary Dinner! More...
There is a beautifull view of the sunset. The food was fantastic and each of us had something different and each thought the food was fantastic. In addition, our server did an excellent job and as a added touch , the manager dropped by to make sure that there were no problems. The only negative was the fact that the on line menus was $5.00 dollars less than the restaurant bill for our two items. While this was a small point, it is worth mentioning as these errors could be easily rectified by the restaurant. Also, when the reservations were made we mentioned that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and our friends Birthday that evening but these were never mentioned by the server nor the manager. There could be a communication problem between Open Table and the restaurant. More...
I was the only person at the table without an order problem. They ran out of what my father ordered. They brought my uncle's appetizer with his meal. My aunt's ribs turned into a steak tip appetizer. They charged us for a soup we didn't order. The next two tables were drunk and excessively loud. More...
Service started off slow, drinks took 20 plus to arrive at table was never asked if anyone want a refresher. Salads bar was a total disappointment, not very well laid out very unorganized. Diner order came out quick and everyone was happy. One of us ordered the ribeye and it was more fat then meat and the scallop diner was on the small size with only 3 scallops. Prices were ok at a average of $26.00 per person everyone had a good time.. More...
Friendly service, however the food was sub par to what an "on the water" restaurant should be and comparable to a chain restaurant. Prices were high compared to the deliverable . The problems is there is very few area restaurants in the area to have this view and setting. The Swordfish was over cooked and chicken marsala sauce was a mushroom beef gravy. Should have probably went with a grouper or snapper. The restaurant does have nice views. Great for a get together and drinks. However food is not worth the money. More...
Great place to take out of town guests. Appreciate that they take reservations.
Good food, reasonable prices, service on the slow side
First time diner here. Great view of the sunset off the water. My first impression as we were seated was that the place needed some updating. The fabric on the chairs at our table was so dirty and threadbare. As I looked at other empty tables around us, I saw other chairs in the same condition. The food was just so-so. Maybe the two meals we ordered just happened to be bland choices. I had the fingerling fish special that had cut-up strawberries and blueberries. The fruit was good but and if I closed my eyes I would have no idea that I was eating fish. VERY mild taste and very little flavor except for the fruit. It was served with fresh grilled asparagus. Unfortunately it was extremely bitter due to being overcooked with the olive oil. Ate a couple of spears but left the rest. Also served with a scoop of mashed potatoes. My husband had the snapper. He said it was just ok... not very flavorful as other places he's had snapper. Meals served with salad bar. That was good. Service was really slow. Nice server but he had his hands full running to different areas to wait on tables. The place was not full by any means. He did ask about why I didn't eat the asparagus as he came over to clear table of our plates. I said it was very bitter and overcooked. He apologized and said he was sorry I didn't like it. We paid our bill and walked to outside deck to watch the sunset which was really beautiful. But would NOT go back for the food. More...
We have eaten there several times & had a good experience. We made reservations & invited friends to order the lobster grilled cheese sandwich based on our previous experience . The food came out - the sandwich bread was burnt for everyone. The meat & cheese(minimal cheese) had congealed & was cold. The french fries were limp & soggy. We think the order must have sat in the kitchen for awhile before being brought out to us. The meal was served by someone from the kitchen & we didn't see our waitress until after we had finished eating what we could of our meals. She never came to check on us. She also failed to bring requested water & soft drink. When she did come to present the bill, she argued with us saying the burnt bread is how they serve it here. More...
Everyone in our party (6) was pleased with their meal. We were seated between two very noisy tables, and at our age hearing is always a problem, but the restaurant was very busy, so we realize there was nothing to be done. Next year, we will try to make it at a less busy time/day.The service was excellent. More...

Always a good time getting together with friends and good food!
Three couples from Mississauga, Canada, met to catch up during their "WinterGetaway from the cold up North". We did that and had a fabulous meal with greatsurroundings. Thanks.
The food was decent but took forever to arrive. We had a 5:45pm reservation (and were seated at that time) and it took about 30 minutes to get our drinks and water. The dinner finally arrived some time after 7pm. Our appetizers arrived after our dinner despite a couple of reminders to the waiter. The restaurant was very short staffed and the waiters just could not keep up. Neither the food nor the view was worth the wait. This was our first and last time at the Captain's Table. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone. More...

Have had dinner here twice now in the past couple weeks. The calamari app is amazing! Would highly recommend it. They have one of my favorite wines at a reasonable price. Entrees weren't overly memorable, sea bass was good. Sea food buffet was good but we were disappointed in no crab. We probably won't rush back to this Friday buffet.
Service very slow this visit and food not up to standards of the past visits. Probably just a bad day in the kitchen.
We dine often at the Captain's Table and would highly recommend it. Service is great as well as the food.
I had heard great things about this place--unfortunately the area around here does not have many really good restaurants. Also unfortunately, this place was not great. Very expensive for what I had. I started with a shrimp cocktail--defrosted frozen shrimp with zero seasoning and less flavor. For dinner, seafood with "lobster cream" featured more the flavor of pimiento than lobster. Shrimp were overcooked, scallops weren't bad, fish was also overcooked. Salad bar was quite pedestrian. Desert was a frozen, bought-in and vastly oversweet cake offering. All this, with one drink, $60. I was not impressed and won't be back. More...
Great food, great service and a great sunset!I love the lobster grilled cheese!
Lovely place for friends to meet. Service was great. My special Mahi Mahi salad was overcooked and dry. Other meals were fine. We were not rushed and enjoyed our time together More...
Wonderful evening and service. We always enjoy the food, sunset view and the personal serve Carlos offers. Thanks for a job well done.
We enjoying having dinner at The Captains Table each winter when we are here visiting family. The fish is always fresh and worth a visit.
Great food. Excellent atmosphere. Love dining on the water.
The food and service were all anyone could hope for. The fish and chips were the best I have ever had. We did miss the Sunday brunch and hope that you will think about bringing it back.
We had family in town and chose the captians table for the great food and the wonderful view. We all enjoyed our food with the sunset. Couldn't have asked for more!

Three of the four adults had the Friday seafood buffet and were very pleased with the choices on the buffet - clam strips, stuffed grouper and sole, shrimp, ... One adult had the salmon dinner which was absolutely delicious - the other three adults all had a taste of the salmon. We finished the dinner with three pieces of Key Lime Pie - rich and creamy. we all left very full and pleased with a most tasty dinner One concern - we think the ccarpet may need attention KF More...
Our meal was less than fantastic. The best thing about the restaurant was the view at sunset. other than that the service was marginal. We ordered the crab stuffed grouper and it was very dry and overcooked and the crabmeat was shredded with too much filling. I asked our waiter for water and he ignored our request and we had flag down the other girl. We will not be coming back to this restaurant and we will pass the word on to others that we know. I mentioned to our waiter that it was my husband's birthday and we got absolutely no special treatment More...
A delightful dining experience. Great drinks, and very excellent cuisine. Recommend any night but Friday; the seafood Buffett is a zoo.
It's one of our favorite places to take family, friends and visitors. Food is consistently good and the server (Margaret) was terrific, as was the hostess who quickly arranged to move us outside because it was such a beautiful day. Don't miss it! You won't be disappointed! More...
Everything was great but we sat inside by the door leading to the outside deck. Each time a waiter went out to the deck or came back in the door would slam shut. (needed a new spring or something). We always meet friends here since it is between Sarasota and Naples.Very good all round!!
Amazing as always! We travel all over the world and dine in some of the finest restaurants. Captains Table's Calamari is the best my wife and I have ever had. We highly recommend it!
The only problem was that my wife had to send back her lobster chowder because it was just warm, not piping hot. Also, my meal (swordfish) was just lukewarm. I did not send it back because we were with another couple. It would appear that the waiter let the food set on the serving shelf too long. More...

Great venue. Touristy. Beautiful View! Nice friendly staff. Casual dining. Good food - very fresh. New England "still" has the BEST chowd-ah in the world!
Food and service was excellent! Will definitely be back soon.

As always the food and service were wonderful this is our go to spot when we want good food and great service
Six of seven of our meals were excellent, grouper sandwich which has been a previous favorite was dried out - no taste.

Great view out over the water. Comfortable setting in a convenient location. Food was good comfort food but not overly inventive. However this menu fit the local tastes just fine. More...
The ambiance (Gulf View) and service were great. The food was fair but the menu was good and different choices might have been better.
Lovely waterfront setting. Great seafood plus nice selection of non-seafood items. Prompt efficient service an enjoyable setting for lunch or dinner. Great deck the nice days but equally enjoyable inside. More...
We were at the Captain's Table for a family celebration . We had problems with our two year old at the table and the wait staff was supportive and helpful to the highest degree. Also one of the family members requested an item not on the lunch menu and our waiter went the extra mile to deliver that item with grace. As large families will do, we tested the staff and they responded with smiles, friendliness and excellent service. More...
Excellent service. Food B plus. Great view. Salad bar was poor.
Enjoyed the fish entrees...Cobia, captains platter and short ribs by the landlubber We had the best table afforded by the GM that we met in the afternoon. Get together with my cousin that I hadn't seen in 5 years. More...
I have celiac disease, gluten free, I felt that the captains table wasn't very accommodating. Usually a nice restaurant will fix you about anything you want. I asked about several dishes and was told none of the sauces were gluten free so I went with the filet. I asked if they could make a red wine sauce but ended up with mushrooms in a garlic sauce. I was disappointed. For the price I would rather go to a different restaurant that will work with me. More...
I have enjoyed the food and service at The Captain's Table in the past. Recently I had visitors in from out of town who wanted to sample some of the local sea food. Two of us enjoyed the friday night buffet while the third party enjoyed the salmon dish. All of the food was terrific, from the salad bar to the bar service. The buffet was fresh and was constantly being re stocked. I will be back again. More...
As it was my 80 B/D, our son and daughter(she in absentia) footed the bill--much to our dismay. However our waitress, my wife's escargot, my tuna tartare were outstanding, unfortunately my sons Oysters Rockefeller were smothered in cheese-- best you review Antoines recipe. Our entrees were good. PS--when I booked our table, the menu I viewed had Chiapino and Bouillabaisse. You had my mouth salvaging. When they return, please advise. LRL. More...
First of all the cosmos were strong, but good. Great wine selection. All of us had fabulous meals. Cooked to perfection. I'd recommend the Chilean Sea Bass - out of this world. Red snapper was also fabulous. All you can eat buffet was enjoyed by a friend. The desserts were very good, I couldn't finish mine so I took it home. Key Lime pie was also very good, my friend finished all of the pie. I plan an taking my sister and brother-in-law when they visit in March. More...
The stuffed grouper was too dry and sort of tough. Asparagus seemed as though it had been sitting around. I like your lunch menu better than dinner. Service and scenery wonderful
The best thing about this restaurant is that it is mid way between Sarasota and Naples so we drive down from Sarasota and meet friends from Naples. The view is great. The food is OK. It is only worth the drive for meeting friends from naples. More...
Reserved table on the water for 4. Great location, food better than average. The seafood platter was very good. 4 shrimp, 4 scollops, and a nice piece of whit meat fish served with potato and asparagus. Salad bar also included for $25. House wine during happy hour, until 7, was also very good. Could not of had a better waiter. Will return! More...
Food was very good. Our waiter was an older gentleman who was phenomenal. We had a family member who has alzheimers with us and he was kind to her. Never once getting annoyed or having an attitude. He is a credit to the restaurant. More...
Enjoyed the patio waterfront dining on a spur of the moment visit to Fisherman's Wharf in Punta Gorda. Grouper sandwich and seafood trio very nice and fairly priced for a tourist location with one exception, $7 charge for a small bowl of chicken noodle soup overpriced.Wait staff very keen on providing great service. Would recommend this restaurant especially using Open Table. More...
Great professional servers.. great appetizers and small plate selections.
The Captains Table over the years has been one of our favorite restaurants in Punta Gorda. The view is spectacular. But they unfortunately have dropped a lot of our favorites off of their menu. They used to have a Tornadoes Bocachini that was twin filets that we loved and on their appetizer menu they had PEI mussels that were outstanding. They have also dropped the seafood salad and pea salad from their salad bar. Not as happy with the selections anymore. More...
Fabulous food and great service! I would highly recommend.
Very enjoyable evening. We were there for a birthday celebration with family from central Ohio
Always a good choice. They take reservations and have plenty of good tables inside and out. Food and service are always great.
We arranged to meet friends that we hadn't seen in many years. The food was delicious, service was excellent, staff was friendly, and the view is outstanding.
We were in a party of five and everyone's entree was delicious. The Bloody Mary's were excellent with celery, olive and shrimp. Our waiter, Sam, was attentive and professional. We were all impressed while ordering because Sam never wrote anything down and when our meals were delivered, they were exactly what we ordered and all our extras we asked for like Cajun Mayo and tartar sauce were all included. The food was delicious and the outdoor eating area was very enjoyable.
Had an excellent meal at the Captain's Table with a nice window view. The service was very good. The salad bar an added bonus. The Captain's Table is located in Fisherman's Village so in addition to dining there is also shopping and entertainment. More...
Great dinner for seven. Thoroughly enjoyed. Our server Stu was a fountain of information and friendly but professional. The food raves came from everyone. I personally had jerked wild boar that came from the local 3 Suns Ranch. Highly recommend. More...
Nate is the general mgr he was awesome to come over and talk with us and Peggy was our waitress and she was great, we told her we would ask for her again.
The food and service are always good. Richard, the bartender, is my favorite. Can't beat the view whether you are inside or out.
Good food.Great service!Terrific view!Convenient location
A dining companion and I both ordered their spinach salad for lunch, while a third diner ordered a burger. We ordered our salads without gorgonzola and our server appeared to have written that down. We waited about a half hour for our food- during a very slow lunch service- and when it arrived, both salads had gorgonzola on them. Other than that blunder, they looked lovely; they had a bunch of blueberries and strawberries and a heap of salmon or chicken (per salad ordered, of course). We told the person who delivered our food about the error and he swiftly took the salads away and had new ones made. Meanwhile, the other diner's burger was getting cold, our drinks were low, and we hadn't seen our server since we ordered. After about 10 more minutes of waiting, the new salads arrived- but were practically bare. There were about 3 blueberries and a few sliced strawberries on each- as if they rushed to throw together two new salads to replace the ones THEY messed up. Very disappointing. When I finally tasted the salad, the dressing was awful!! It was definitely a bottled salad dressing that I'd purchased once before (and hated). The music was also a little loud and didn't match the tone of the restaurant. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I don't plan on returning. :( More...
We have been to the Captain's Table many times. New Years dinner was very good and so was the sever.
Garret was an excellent server and made our experience very enjoyable! The food was also delicious and beautiful views.
I felt the quantity and quality of food were disappointing. Portion of cole slaw was very small and bread or rolls were not included. Seafood trio consisted of two medium shrimp, two small scallops, and one piece of white fish which was not very good. French fries were good. More...
We came to celebrate my son graduating from college. It was a lovely evening with delicious food in a great atmosphere.
The Captain's Table is a very picturesque restaraunt on the bay with a fantastic view. The food is very good, plentiful and reasonably priced. Good value for the money. Our waitor was excellent. More...
Food was fair, service very slow. Not worth the price.
