Jennifer is a magician! She had complete command over our new puppy. She showed us exactly what to do to be good parents and be in control of our sweet Lola. She included our three teen daughters in every step. They looked forward to each session, which is a miracle in itself, to get all the girls together each week. We are very thankful to Kie de Boehmler for training our Mini Golden "Simba". Our Simba is now able to follow commands, sitting, staying in place , not jumping on people when they come to the door, walking on a leash and not running away when he is not on a leash at the dog park. Simba can also come with us to a dog friendly restaurant and sit throughout dinner in a calm manner.
Kie was able to gain Simba's trust immediately. He was kind and professional and had patience with our puppy. Every class was fun and Simba is truly going to miss Kie.

If you are having any issues with your pup you should def get a hold of canine Counselors. Very knowledgable they first will provide you with a free assessment of your pup then they will assign you a trainer. Our trainer Jen, was super knowledgable and very friendly. She was able to show us strategies and methods for our super hyper active border collie mix. He now knows how to stay in his place, walk properly on a leash and just generally more well behaved, all in 5 weeks. Will absolutely recommend Jen and canine counselors. Thanks again! More...

Best decision I could have made for my pup Cash and myself! In just 8 sessions our trainer Jennifer had Cash following so many commands and not barking at every dog that walks by! I feel like I'm able to enjoy and play with my dog more rather than constantly trying to discipline him. I think maybe I needed the training more than him �. I was referred to Canine Counselors by a friend; however, the one that made all the difference in our lives was the trainer. Meli has been exceptional with the training that she provided to Nikko. Nikko's training began at Petsmart, but neither one of us was benefiting from the training due to all the distractions within those classes. Making the choice to have Meli train Nikko has been the best decision, given that he received personalized attention within his environment and it allowed me as the owner to learn how to set boundaries for him. Meli is very dedicated to what she does and you can tell that she loves her job. She made herself accessible to us for any question or concerns, which is important. I strongly recommend Meli to anyone interested in obtaining results and wants a caring trainer. I absolutely love Canine Counselors! My son brought home a Rhodesian Ridgeback and he started growing and growing! I was scared of how I was going to be able to control and train him. My daughter saw canine counselors on instagram and I called and made an apt! As soon as the trainer, Jennifer walked in she and Panqo clicked and it was as if he was in a trance every time she came in. She was absolutely amazing. Quicker than I ever imagined he was sitting, laying down, listening to all types of commands. I can't say enough about the level of commitment and expertise with the trainer. She was always on time, always confirmed her apt, and was always happy and helpful. Constantly giving me tips and going the extra mile. Great experience with Melissa! She is amazing and Bowie just loved her! She was very professional and very patient with me as I had tons of questions and was very stressed out regarding the potty training and obedience training for Bowie my Yorkie. I have not had a puppy in ten years and I had forgotten everything but Melissa took her time and explained it all. Bowie had his last session today and he and I have come a long way. I feel better and I’m more relaxed and hopeful that he can only get better from here. When he reaches a year old he will get trained to be a therapy dog. I can’t wait. Our trainer was Raquel. She started with us when Cora was a little over 8 weeks old, and the experience was wonderful from the start. Raquel took the time to understand our main concerns (bitting, housebreaking, etc) and gave us a very accurate timeframe on what to expect with our puppy's progress. Raquel guided us the entire process, she followed up after each session, she scheduled the classes appropriately to make sure we were giving the puppy enough time to see changes. Jennifer is the best! We had recently adopted Beau who was a 6 month old Dalmatian at the time from the Humane Society. My husband and I quickly realized that we had no clue how to train a dog. We contacted Canine Counselors and from the first interaction we knew we were in good hands. Prior to getting Canine Counselors and Jennifer my husband and I would go back and forth contemplating if we made the right choice to adopt.

Jennifer was awesome! Beau is a really active and stubborn dog and we knew after the first at home training we had made the choice and Jennifer was the perfect match with Beau.

Jennifer took the time to explain the different commands and why they work so well. These will be lasting tools for our family. We had a great experience and would HIGHLY recommend Jennifer and Canine Counselors to anyone.

Beau is now fully housebroken, doesn't bite, knows the basic commands and will walk with us without pulling our arms off.

My wife and I adopted an 8-week old puppy from a high kill shelter. The puppy (Cora) had minimum contact with the mother which meant a lot of hard bitting among many other things. Our trainer Raquel was wonderful from the start. She took the time to understand our main concerns and gave us a very accurate timeframe on what to expect with Cora's progress. Raquel was not only incredibly sweet and dedicated but also very proactive and hands-on to make sure Cora was doing better every day. Whenever we needed a new accessory for training, Raquel went above and beyond to provide us with the accessories herself. Our trainer Jennifer was excellent.  She trained  my five months Labrador Retriever and she did a great job.  She was very  professional, punctual, and fun to work with.  She taught us how to correct some negative behavior that he was picking up through my other dog.  She even went above and beyond to help us correct some bad behavior our beagle had for quite some time.  Our beagle had the tendency on jumping onto the edge of the counter and grab whatever food he could, but with Jennifer  technique, he stopped jumping onto the counter.  Back to my five months Labrador, he now behaves a lot better than before and with continuing trainer he will be an excellent dog.  If I ever get another dog, with no hesitation, I will call Canine Counselors and ask for Jennifer.Thanks for everything Yoe & Kathy Hernandez. First and foremost I have to give a big thank you to my trainer Danielle, she's the BEST! I've had dogs all my life but every session Danielle always taught me something new. She has trained 3 of my dogs and most recently my American Bulldog Lily and mix breed, Luke. Included in your training are group training lessons FOR LIFE which are held the first and third Saturday for the month. My dog Lily being a stray for a period of her life did have some dog aggression to the point we could not take her out in public but the group lessons have made such a difference, it's incredible! Luke was such a handful that I never thought he could be disciplined but with Danielle's guidance I've seen such a difference in his behavior and it allows us all to live together peacefully. I highly recommend the investment to any dog owner, the structure and knowledge they provide really does make a difference.I do see a few negative reviews on here and I must say...a lot of people don't take accountability in the behavior of their dogs. When I go to group training I see so many cases of people not listening to the trainers or following the commands. Canine Counselors give you the tools but it's up to you and your pet to put in the work, so please don't bash a great company if you're not putting in the effort as well. I plan to train all of my future best friends with Canine Counselors and if you're able to, definitely request Danielle! More...

This is my second time around with Canine Counselors and Andres Beheit!15 years ago, Andres trained my Miniature Schnauzer puppy beautifully and we enjoyed many years with Candy as a well-trained, lovable pet. Sadly, she passed away last July.When we were ready for another puppy, I didn't hesitate to call Canine Counselors again and was delighted to be able to work with Andres again!This time, we have BooBoo, a Pomeranian puppy. Again, Andres' behavioral techniques and wonderful demeanor have made training our new member of the family so much easier and pleasant.I always say he must've been a dog in his past life because he understands them so completely! lol!Booboo took to him immediately and absolutely adores him!I can't thank Andres enough for his punctuality, professionalism, patience, and warm personality which has made transforming my rambunctious, stubborn puppy into a well-mannered, well-trained one. Best decision I ever made.  Our trainer was Jennifer.  I have a Yorkie who has a pretty strong personality with separation anxiety on top of it.  Jennifer spent time with us and trained me as much she trained Roxy. :)   It's amazing how much better she has gotten...Ok..how much better "I" have gotten too.  In addition to the obedience training and behavioral issues, she learned and is learning some pretty cool tricks.  We also went to the group class which was fun and helps Roxy get used to other dogs.Looking forward to working with them more. I have two Australian Shepherds that used to walk me instead of I walking them.  They were not social and would bark at other dogs and strangers. ..in other words, spoiled.  One is 6 years old and the other is 2 1/2 (never too old to train).  Well, I cannot begin to tell you how amazing my dogs are today. After 8 classes, they have graduated and are great walkers, socialize, and no longer bark at other dogs nor strangers.  Canine Counselors training has been the best investment we have made.  We were blessed to have Marien as the trainer.  She has an incredible gift with dogs...they just LOVED her from day one, it was love st first sight!!  .The dogs now sit and stay while I walk away for over 100 feet until I give them the command to come to me, this used to be impossible!!  They automatically sit when I stop, walk alongside of me, and are just a joy to walk, when it was a task before.  For graduation day (today), we took them to Merrick Park where they intermingled with strangers and children who stopped to pet them.  They walked through Nordstrom and restaurants and they were AWESOME, so well behaved!!  I don't normally write reviews, but credit should be given where credit is due, so I could not pass this one up!  Thank you Canine Counselors and Marien for a job well done!!!! I am extremely grateful I discovered Canine Counselors and William, our professional trainer who assisted us with our Boxadore Gracie. I have to admit I was skeptical as they would not give me much information on the phone until we had a free evaluation. I am so glad I accepted the free evaluation. At the evaluation appointment the program was explained and what could be expected at the end. Gracie is very sweet and friendly towards us, but was completely aggressive and wild toward anything else, you name it, cars, people, leaves, the sidewalk, Gracie wanted to attack everything in sight to the point that we could no longer walk her and was considering giving her away. We were locked in a cycle, Gracie was wild because she was bored from not having walks, and we couldn't walk her because she was wild.William was always very patient and punctual. Within two sessions, William had given us the tools we needed to resume our walks with Gracie. Towards the end of the sessions we could walk her with confidence at outdoor shopping malls with people all around. On more than one occasion now I have been told by complete strangers what a wonderfully obedient dog Gracie is.Is my dog perfect now? The answer is no, but she is a pleasure to walk around the neighborhood now and is accepting the lessons we learned from William nicely. I have no doubt if we keep using the tools he has given us she will improve further. I am confident if we keep going to the free group sessions she will continue being the awesome dog she has become. If William is available to you; I highly suggest you request him. Absolutely amazing!! Canine Counselors has truly helped my dog through all of her anxious energy and has helped me be a better dog owner. Amanda, our trainer, was so great and patient with my little Maltese, Kiki. She was always on time, always in communication with me, and always incredibly helpful. I came across Canine Counselors through Pet Supermarket. I gave them a call and Peter came right out one evening at our convenience. He was thorough and full of ideas. Our cocker spaniel, Bailey was only ten weeks old. The program presented was exactly what we needed for our new puppy. That following week, Amanda came out and began training Bailey. It was like magic how much we saw Bailey learning. In three weeks she was potty trained and by the end of the training she knew all her commands and some extra tricks like play dead. Today we reinforce all the commands on a daily basis and Bailey attends the social training sessions on Saturdays at South Miami Senior High. Our new rescue Golden Doodle "Finn" was very sweet and happily housebroken, but otherwise wild. Over 5 weeks our Canine Counselor Amanda worked her magic with us. .. Finn now sits, heels, and mostly stays on command, and is much much better with other dogs. We also have skills now to address new challenges, like sitting quietly at Starbucks ... Canine Counselors came to our rescue about 7 years ago with one of our dogs.  We found her as a 5 month old pup on the side of the road and she had various issues.  William was great in helping us with her.  Now, we have another puppy and we hired Canine Counselors again to assist us.  The key is "assist" us as they are teaching us how to teach our dogs.  Some people think that a trainer is going to come in and perform magic on your dog.  It doesn't work that way.  You have lots of homework and things that you have to do with your dog daily to see progress.  I have recommended them to various people throughout the years and continue to do so.  If you have time, energy, dedication and the money to hire a trainer to come to your home...hire Canine Counselors! We were extremely pleased with the professionalism and accomplishments from  Andres.  Our Maltese started misbehaving  at the age of 6 and we had lost hope after trying different techniques ourselves, which had been recommended by "online experts".  We are lucky to have followed a friend's recommendation and hire the services of Canine Counselors. We couldn't have asked for a better result and/or experience. I have worked with Canine Counselors for over 10 years and with several dogs... from puppies to adult rescues.  William has been the trainer throughout.  My dogs are all very well behaved as a result.  It is more of a basic training, which is all my pets have needed.  I'm not sure if they have a more intensive training for dogs with behavior problems.  They also have free weekly group sessions, although I have never attended, and a free yearly refresher (one day) which I always take advantage of.  I highly recommend this company and their trainer, William.
