Very fine cakes - if you have an indecisive daughter like I do that's great - seem willing to let me drink coffee and eat cake as many times as it takes - but really, as good as it gets.

Cakes by Gina is amazing. EVERYONE at my wedding was asking where the cake came from and if they did birthday cakes because it was so good. We had chocolate cake and the amaretto cake. From the moment we walked into cakes by Gina they were so accommodating. My Husband (fiancee at the time) couldn't come with us to try the cakes so they made a plate of samples for me to take home for him to try. They also packed up our leftovers. When they found out I was a harry potter fan they helped me find a subtle way to work harry potter into our cake and walked me around the bakery to help me pick out how I wanted the different layers to work. They also worked hard to find ways to keep the cake the lowest cost possible. They also had a separate round cake sent for our first anniversary. When we brought home all the leftover cake from the venue the round cake wasn't with it- I though maybe the bakery forgot to send it so I called them. They informed me that they had send the round cake (and had picture proof it had been delivered) however, if the venue couldn't find it they would be more than happy to make me another round or place an order for a year from now so we could have it for our anniversary. I said no that if they had proof it was delivered I would call the venue again. I called the venue and sure enough it was there in the cooler! However, I think the fact that they KNEW the cake was delivered properly and they did their job but were still willing to replace the cake AT NO CHARGE speaks volumes to their customer service. After reading so many rave reviews about Cakes By Gina, I immediately booked a tasting. At the tasting, we had to wait quite a bit but was given drinks and could look at the display cakes. I think we got lucky we had to wait because then Gina was actually our consultant. We had a good idea for what we wanted for the wedding cake and she really made it come together. We also knew we wanted a corvette for the groom’s cake but couldn’t afford her original idea, but she brilliantly came up with a way to do half the corvette so that it fit our budget. What I loved about the tasting, was that you could choose what you wanted to try (and she would let you try everything!). We knew we didn’t want fruit filling, so it was helpful to narrow it down. She also didn’t make assumptions; we went to another cake tasting, and they pretty much told me that the wedding cake couldn’t be red velvet – they didn’t even have red velvet! I also loved the mocha frosting so much but thought the chocolate cake would be too much and she suggested doing the marble cake with the mocha frosting for two layers and two layers of red velvet. It was absolutely delicious! We already ate our top layer, because we couldn’t wait for our 1 year and we look forward to going back to Cakes By Gina to get an anniversary cake! More...

Cakes by Gina did our wedding cake. We knew we had to book her regardless of price after we tasted her cakes. They were incredible. We got three different tiers, each with a different flavor, because we couldn’t narrow it down. Her team was timely and professional. When they made a small error on our bill they corrected it immediately comped the cake stand. The cake looked gorgeous on my wedding day but the real treat was how it tasted. If you’ve been to many weddings you know most people don’t regard the cake too much, but that wasn’t the case for our guests. Many people commented on how good it was. Thankfully we had a little left so we could continue to eat it the days following our wedding. Now I’m sad it’s gone. They provide a box and instructions on how to box the top layer to save so we are looking forward to that on our anniversary. We will be going back for future cakes we need for events. We are so happy with our decision to use Cakes by Gina for my wedding- not only was our wedding cake GORGEOUS, it was also delicious! ! At the time of our first visit, we told Gina about our vision of having "grooms pies" (mini fruit pies, instead of your everyday grooms cake) and unfortunately that wasn't a service they offered but told us to check back in in a few months- fast forward and Gina and her team created (and now offer) the cutest, most delicious mini pies!!!! I can't say enough good things about Cakes by Gina. From the cake tasting, to ordering, to pick up and to of course lets not forget the most delicious cake ever. The cake was for my future daughter in laws bridal shower and she is Gluten intolerant so I wanted to be able to do one of the layers in a gluten free flavor, they not only accommodated me, but the bride and her maid of honor said that the gluten free cake was the best they have ever had. There is no other wedding cake business that even comes close to Cakes by Gina! Not only are her cakes the most delicious cakes that I have ever eaten, they are also the most beautiful and most skilled cakes that I have ever seen! We ordered way more than our guest count and we had NONE left over. Cakes by Gina are very good and I like how they set up a cake tasting for you, while they are preparing a cake design. Though, I have to say the whole experience was awfully awkward. Upon arrival, I was seated with Stephanie, a sales associate. I was offered hot tea and a glass of water for my niece. I would say I was there for a good 45 mins and my hot tea never came out... moving on. However, I was reminded twice that it was coming.

I showed Stephanie the simple designed I had wished and she sat there drawing the cake. It was rather quiet between all of us... and then she passes me a slip of paper to fill out which types of cakes I would like to try. I think I had tried about 5 different types of cakes. All of them were well made and very moist, which was great!

The reason why I took away a star was due to the awkwardness. Sitting there trying each cake in front of a sales associate, she being there to watch our judgement... it was fairly quiet during the whole process. Also, the price quote was pretty pricey for the price I had asked for. Nothing fancy nor intricate. The fact that it's a $125 delivery for the nearest place... meaning that even if it was down the street (which it is) it is still $125. I thought this was fairly ridiculous. I continue my journey looking for someone else to make my wedding cake. More...

I know that this review is long overdue but I wanted to make sure to express our sincerest gratitude. We got married in April2017. We had reviewed many vendors and went to 2 places. We went to Gina first and were greatly surprised on how great the cake tasting was and how she helped bring our vision to design such an incredibly beautiful cake. As we were living out of state, we didn’t have much time for tasting appts and we actually tried out another highly publicized vendor and decided that Gina’s cake tasting far superseded the other. Also, no one else can make a tres leches. Needless to say, the process was so easy and on our wedding day, my husband and I were left breathless. Many of our guests had noted that they have not had another cake that tasted so wonderful (and a few have particular taste pallets as they work in the catering industry). I also have to note that we felt overwhelming blessed to have Gina work on our cake. We felt the love she had for us when she met us, the details and finesse she put into the cake that showed how much she cared to give us the best possible cake for our incredible day. As others do, we had our top layer on our anniversary and the carrot cake layer was still as wonderful tasting a year later. I went in for a consultation 3 weeks ago for my wedding cake and it was absolutely amazing. I was met by smiling faces and great service. I sat down with Gina and she was extremely helpful as far as which flavors I should try (which was a choice of about 20). I was also brought complimentary truffles and refreshing water infused with oranges. There was so much cake from the tasting, so she suggested I box it up and take it with me. She carefully went through the design with me, gave suggestions, checked and rechecked to make sure I was satisfied. I left feeling confident and reassured that my cake and cupcakes would turn out great. I'll be sure to update my review after I see the final product for my wedding in June.
