My brother, Tony Ehlinger, hosted a get together at Buca’s Saturday. There was probably 40 of us. Everything was great! The food was outstanding . ..and so much of it! We were in town visiting from Louisiana during Christmas and needed a place for Christmas dinner. Buca was the only place in town that was open that we knew would be good so we went ahead and made a dinner reservation. The place was jam packed and presumably was doing the best they could given the sheer number of folks that showed up ready to eat. We were sat within 20 minutes of our reservation and automatically told by our server that the kitchen was backed up but that she would do all she could to keep us happy (I.e. keep our glasses full and bread coming). We had a salad, the lasagna, chicken límon, and the tiramisu. All of which were delightful. We enjoyed a good relaxed meal and didn't feel rushed at all and our server took excellent care of us. First time eating here and we will definitely be back!!! Our server, Leah, was awesome - super friendly and great service. We had the mozzarella garlic bread and mixed pasta platter of chicken cannelloni, manicotti and ravioli. I had the blood orange aperol spritz, which was tasty.It did take a little while for the food to come out, but it was piping hot and the pasta was clearly hand rolled, plus it was really, really delicious -- even the tomato sauce was so good we were scraping the dish! With regards to the family style portions - we were a party of two and ordered the small portion, which is advertised as serving 3. I'd say we have pasta and garlic bread left over for another two generous leftover meals. Which makes us very, very happy! Tl;dr delicious food but it takes a while. If you decide to make reservations on Christmas or Holiday. Best to plan for an early reservation. We had a 6 pm but there was an hour wait still, and when we got seated. We had to change our orders three times because they ran out of food and only few options left on menu, even bread ran out. We still had to pay full price for everything. So if you want to have more options get there early. Our server was very apologetic and she was very nice. BUT aside all that when we finally got our food it was very delicious!
