Britt Scripps Manor's standard wedding offering is simple, and nearly all-inclusive. It includes two nights accommodations for up to 14 overnight guests in seven historic rooms, and an event for up to 150 guests. You get the entire manor to yourselves for the entire wedding weekend, which means you can host a rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after-party, and morning brunch all at the same location!

Aly was the best day of coordinator and the best moral support for myself and my husband. She had everything under control and she had our full trust for the event (she still has our full trust for any time we want to do an event again at Britts Scripps)!

Jesse was the amazing chef that took care of us and he was so amazing to work with. He went above and beyond for us as this was the manor's first brunch wedding. Everyone raved about the chicken and waffle sandwiches that were served during the breakfast hors d'oeuvre hour. Highly recommend!

Ben was so accommodating throughout our time with the venue. We know he was doing a lot of background work to make sure our day ran smoothly and we are so grateful for that.

I recently attended a wedding at this manor and I was amazed by its beauty. The fact that this house was made in the 1800's blows my mind, because of how it was built with so much detail. This house is three stories tall and it is kept in great condition. The courtyard has plenty of space if you want to host a wedding or event here. You are also able to stay in the 7+ rooms that are available. I definitely felt the history on this property and it was an amazing time to experience it. More...

We can't recommend the Britt Scripps Manor enough. The property is dropdead gorgeous, the staff is extremely friendly, flexible, and communicative, and the in-house food/drink packaging was a huge plus. Not only do you get to host your wedding/event there, you can stay the night there too! Our friends and family had the best time, complimented the venue nonstop, and are still talking about how amazing the food and cocktails were.The coordinator, Aly, was a superstar and a lifesaver. She really exceeded our expectations in organization, communication, and was *always* willing to help in any way possible. Such an amazing venue!  We recently stayed here for a friends wedding and I can't stop raving about it.  We stayed in their Aesthetic Room. It was such a cool room. The old vibe to the whole house set the ton for the weekend and we loved it!  And the room upstairs was perfect to fit our whole group for some late night shenanigans.  Tons of photos were taken to show all my friends.The couple had a murder mystery rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding and the outside courtyard/ spaces were perfect. It was very comfortable and spacious.  The wedding itself was absolutely breath taking. I couldn't have imagined a better location for a wedding. We were all able to get ready in the house, drop downstairs for the wedding and have our retreat inside when we needed. Food and drinks were super yummy too!And I just have to say how above and beyond the staff were.  Bernie (sp?) was the so very helpful and professional. He was there for us even before we knew we needed any help.  Always eager to give us assistance through out our whole stay. And the rest of the staff were just amazing.  Super friendly and made our experience unforgettable.  I would recommend this location to anyone and everyone! More...

We recently had our wedding at Britt Scripps Manor and we were just so impressed with our experience!Aly, Ben, Noban, and Jesse just made it too easy and totally took the stress away from planning. They were helpful and super timely in responses to our endless questions. They were patient and offered recommendations when we needed it. Staying at the Manor for the weekend was such a pleasure. The grounds are beautiful and the house is so well taken care of. Aly and her assistant Nikki went above and beyond to take care of everything on the day. They made sure we were all well taken care of. We are so grateful we found this place and appreciative of all the people that helped make our dream a reality! More...

2 days into married life, and Britt Scripps Manor could not have been a better venue. Ben, the general manager, and Aly, our amazing coordinator, rolled with all our unusual requests, from the wedding bounce house to the ice cream truck. Nikki, the assistant coordinator, was also wonderful, and helped my bridesmaids keep me calm and on time. Jesse and his team helped us come up with a delicious menu and executed it to perfection. And everyone loved the cocktails Holly suggested. Bernie put all our onsite guests at ease and was very organized. Everyone who works there was wonderful and so professional. We made it through the wedding, and nothing even went wrong (or at least I never knew about it)! My one worry was the proximity of the condos next door, but we didn’t even notice them once things were in full swing. I literally cannot say enough nice things. Lets start with the manor itself: …MoreIf I could give this review 100 stars, I would ask for a 1,000! Honestly, words can't descrive how phenomenal this venue is. Lets start with the manor itself: Incredibly cleanly kept, preserved since 1887. Six couples stayed in each of the six rooms with an awe of admiration. There are so many unique details throughout the house to really drive in the fact that you are sleeping at a Victorian Era Mansion (at it's time the most expensive home in San Diego!), eating and living like an aristocrat. We had our ceremony and reception outside in the courtyard. The green wall, lights, statue of an angel, and the magnificant tree all played a key role in creating a magical atmosphere! There is also an upstairs to the mansion that has a huge living room, small dining room and kitchen. In this space, we held a Grand Gatsby Murder Mystery party! My first murder mystery ever! All the 30 guests dressed "spiffy" in the 1920s style as a bartender was serving drinks idiosyncratic to that era. All this could not have been possible without the unmatched support and love of the staff and coordinators! We had the venue to ourselves from Friday to Sunday. On Friday we played our Murder Mystery upstairs and had the full support of the management team that allowed us to hire bartender and let us do whatever we wanted. Leading to the wedding, we met with the cook to pick our food and we couldn't narrow down our options. My husband and I both have a different pallets and they really work with us to create a menu. Oh and the food! The food!! I didnt care if I looked fat in the my wedding dress, as long as I got to stuff as much of the food as possible in my mouth. Every guest was boasting about how unique and gormet the food was. I felt like I was catering from a 5 star ultra-pricey restaurant. Then we met with the bartender that made insanely delicious and delicate drinks. On the day of the wedding, our guests ordered "The Mila" or the "Roman", which of course were completely opposite. Then there is Aly! She was my heaven sent angel-of-a-coordinator. From the day that we met, her calm voice and organizational skills took my stress from an 8/10 to -2/10. Made me feel so much better about where I was in the wedding planning process. The day of the wedding, I just stopped caring about getting things done and completely let go of control. I did that with 100% trust that the team got it. Aly and the team set up the whole reception area just the way I wanted, coordinatred with the florist, the DJ, cake, and painter. They even had head pieces to talk to each that looked really cool! There was even a moment where I mixed up the tables with the table numbers and accidentaly had the wedding party far away from us. One of the staff came up to me and said "would you like the wedding party close to you or have the family close to you?". I told them "bridal party" (which was backward from how I originally had it). They quickly changed things up. When I went over to Aly to apologize, she calmy and with a smile said "It's ok, it's all good. Go and enjoy your day!" And promptly sent an attendant to give me a "Mila" drink. One of my favorite parts was having several personal attendants to just us for the whole day and night. And Bernie! We loved our attendenat for the weekend! He is the most adorable, sweet guy we've ever met! In summation, I love Britt Scripps Manor, Aly, Bernie, bartenders, and staff!! Wow its only been a few weeks since our wedding at this magnificent place and I’m still on cloud nine! We had such a great time I don’t know where to begin. Our guests are still talking about how delicious our food and drinks were. We chose this place primarily for their all inclusive package. You rent out the whole place for the weekend and have your wedding there. This was especially important to us as we had family coming in from out of town and wanted them to stay close so we could spend time with them. Our family was able to stay onsite with us. It was like having our own house that happened to be a Victorian mansion with hotel staff included. Also included is the food, drinks, and wedding coordinator for the wedding day. We got to plan our menu, cocktails, and timeline at our tasting. Everything is customizable and we got to design exactly what we wanted to eat and drink while they fed us a delicious full course meal and unique designer cocktails. It was so much fun we wish we could do it again!
On the morning of our wedding, Aly the coordinator, took care of everything! We didn’t have to lift a finger so we went for a morning run together and out to breakfast, trusting that she had things taken care of. It was a stress free morning of getting ready and it was much appreciated. As a matter of fact the whole day was stress free! Aly and the staff handled everything, and kept our timeline on track so we didn’t forget our cake cutting or our bubbles for our grand entry. I could write a book about this place and the wonderful people who run it. But I just wanted to write and let everyone know if you’re considering this place, do it! You wont be sorry. A special Thank You to Aly, Ben, Noban, Jesse, and Holly. We had so much fun!

Ben helped us assign rooms so everyone was comfortable and the checkin/checkout process was smooth and easy. And there parking is included!!!! Not just for your guests staying at the manor, but for all of the wedding guests too. How awesome is that?Even if you don’t care about anything else, the food here would make it the perfect place! What a beautiful hotel! I was only in town for one night and chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the venue I was going to. So close that I was able to walk to where I was going. We could not ask for a more perfect location for our wedding. The venue is perfect: gorgeous Victorian house, amazing tree in the backyard, and very friendly staff. What's so great about using BSM for your wedding, is that you rent the entire manor for the whole weekend. Nearly everything is included (venue, catering, bar, rentals, day-of-coordinator). We had our family stay in the guest rooms and used the third floor loft space for our rehearsal dinner. The team, especially GM Chris, Chef Jesse, and Mixologist Holly were super helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make our wedding weekend perfect! More...

We got married here on October 6th and it has taken us a month just to process everything. It was so much better than anything we had anticipated and people are STILL talking about our wedding. We got engaged in Jan 2018 and immediately started looking for venues. We really wanted a beach wedding and looked at about 5 different locations. We settled on a beautiful spot in La Jolla but the day we were going to sign the paperwork we just looked at each other and decided we didn't want to spend that much money on one day. So, it was back to square one with about 8 months to go. We got so frustrated at one point that we were just going to get married in someone's backyard and we started looking on Airbnb for homes that would allow that. Thankfully we stumbled across the Britt Scripps Manor. The pictures really don't do it any justice. My husband didn't even want to go see it but I just thought there was something special about it. The second we walked into the manor we fell in love! It is a magical place...I don't know how else to describe it. Then when we sat down with the property manager and went over pricing and what we got for that pricing we knew this was the place for us. There are just too many things to rave about but here are some highlights:- They worked with us on every little thing we wanted/needed- They responded same day every time we messaged them- They had a same day wedding coordinator who worked with us and was amazing- They let us go have a day of creating our own custom drinks and custom menu- During the stay they accommodated all of our guests and made us feel like the most important people in the worldI could truly write a novel on this place. The pictures we took turned out like a magazine shoot from the beautiful colors and architecture. We are grateful to the staff and vendors for making this a wedidng to remember. More...

I don't know how to rave about Britt Scripps enough! I had my wedding here in September, and it was the best wedding I could have imagined. Britt Scripps has the best customer service I've ever experienced. From start to finish, their helpful staff made wedding planning so much easier. The property may be new, but the staff definitely know what they're doing!The building and grounds are so beautiful and have so much fun character, which was perfect for me because I was looking for something more unique than the standard golf course or ballroom wedding venue. One thing that is a little unusual about the property is that the dancing is indoors (due to nighttime noise restrictions). I was a little worried about dancing being separated from the dinner part of the reception, but it actually ended up working out very smoothly. The dance floor was completely packed the whole night!In general, the staff at Britt Scripps was very flexible and worked hard to help us turn all of our ideas into reality. For example, my husband and I wanted to have a somewhat unique alcohol package (wine and beer plus a mimosa bar to go with our brunch-themed dinner). The staff worked with us to customize our bar package/pricing to make sure we got exactly what we wanted.This building has such a wonderful feel to it. Every time I visited the property, I walked away feeling extra super excited about the wedding all over again. I had such a great experience and I would highly recommend it. We are so happy with our wedding at the Britt Scripps Manor. The entire staff was so helpful, flexible, and a pleasure to work with! Chris the property manager worked with us on everything! We ended up with a great package that included all of the things that were important to us. We loved that the venue package included the food and beverage and day-of coordinator all at a good price. We only had to find the DJ, florist, cake, and photographer. Made everything so much easier.
Amanda, the day-of coordinator, was phenomenal. We couldn't have done it without her! She handled every single detail of the evening allowing us to simply enjoy it! She was a lot of fun too and kept everyone in a great mood and relaxed throughout the night! Her and Tricia (owner of Tricia Dahlgren events, the in-house partner of BSM) were extremely responsive to all emails leading up to our wedding day -- I mean usually within minutes! Helped us feel confident as the day approached.
The food was amazing. Executive chef Jesse Brockman prepared an amazing tasting night of food and cocktails and then tailored every dish exactly how we wanted it. Super flexible and the sky was basically the limit for food choices and drink choices. The open bar was great. We had 3 excellent beers of our choice and two signature cocktails that all the guests loved. Not but definitely not least, you get the whole mansion for the whole weekend! This was so awesome. The furnishings in the house are all either original or highly upgraded. For example, all of the appliances in the loft's kitchen are SMEG and also SONOS sound system throughout. It was luxury living truly. All of the 7 bedrooms are themed differently and it is such a fun house to stay in. We had our rehearsal dinner pizza in the HUGE loft.. Uh oh out of space!! A+++

Six weeks before our wedding date, September 30, our venue cancelled on us because of legal issues, total nightmare, I was freaking out. Having just bought Britt Scripps in July and completed refurbish work to this gorgeous property, new ownership was able to put together a better wedding than we already had planned. Seriously, these guys know what they’re doing. Reassuring us from the start since it’s a “new” wedding venue, they have 4 other properties and they’ve been doing this for almost 10 years, their catering program and different chefs are incredible, and they keep almost everyting in house so youre not having to cobble together different people who aren’t used to working together. They offer custom menus for both food and drinks, and both are SO GOOD…. Seriosuly, guests have not stopped commenting to us about how it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had! And Holly and her bartenders were so great, they would make new drinks for our guests on the spot, asking what people liked and surprising them with something unique. I just couldn’t believe how much fun my husband and I and all our guests had, I wish we could have a wedding here every year! The event coordinator (“day of” coordination is included) Kate was outstanding. So on point and awesome to work with! I just can’t say enough about how professional everyone was, and also a pleasure to deal with. This is a great team, fun, energetic, and it’s an amazing venue, and we feel so fortunate to have been the first to get married here with how everything happened. In 3 months, this team put together our murder mystery rehearsal dinner, 50-person ceremony/reception and executed it flawlessly. We are SO happy with the choice we made hosting our special day there! Our wedding was nothing short of "happily ever after" with the breathtaking backdrop of the tree overlooking the manor. All of our family and friends who attended absolutely loved it. They raved about the picturesque ceremony site, the glamorous and classy interior, the delicious food, our signature drinks, the friendly service and the overall ambiance. Working with both the management and the crew was fine. We couldn't have been more pleased with the incredible service provided by Louisa, the coordinator, Keegan, the property manager, and Jesse, the chef. I felt completely at ease with Louisa being in charge of our entire event from start to finish. Their whole team put our dream wedding together in 3 months. With several events spread throughout the weekend, BSM’s lovingly maintained historic home and grounds provided space for a ceremony, dinner reception, dancing, and brunch. Centrally located near Balboa Park, we even coordinated a bike ride through the city the day before our wedding. My partner and I wanted a wedding that felt warm, heartfelt, and reflected our values. The team at BSM made our weekend incredibly memorable and carefree. The venue itself is breathtaking and perfectly restored with incredible stained glass and finished touches throughout. Very minimal decor was needed to make the space feel special. BSM comes with an all inclusive catering package that was easy and delicious. We loved working with their chef to create a menu that our guests continue to rave about. One of the highlights of our weekend included staying on site for two nights with our wedding party. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and there are some terrific spaces on the third floor to get ready and spend time with guests before the event. WOW! Gorgeous venue, excellent and caring staff, made the whole experience a dream. We had an amazing time. Thank you Jesse, Chris and Holly. The house is beautiful and the grounds are spacious and yet lend themselves to cozy gathering. Setting up was easy, parking is readily available and food was delicious. Thank you Chris, a joy to work with. Holly was soooo helpful throughout the event and completely unobtrusive while she had everything covered. I'd have taken her home, but they might have gotten mad. Jesse, wow. You're amazing and so is your food. Thank you a ba-jillion!If you are a bride, looking for a venue, or even just a company looking for an intimate and amazing off-site corporate meeting space, THIS is the first place you should be looking.  A step back in time to a more genteel era, yet with modern amenities and so centrally located. There is so much to take in, the original woodwork, the priceless paino and custom stained glass, the themed rooms, and the hundred-plus year old tree in the backyard are just a few of its features that will leave you breathless . I recently attended a private event at Britt Scripps and was blown away. The property and mansion are tremendously luxurious and in a fantastic location close to everything San Diego has to offer. Apparently the estate is under new ownership and is running primarily as an event venue now. I am not sure how the inside looked before, but it seems they've really modernized the estate, while keeping the classic aesthetic. The way the outside is set up is literally perfect for weddings so I wouldn't be surprised if people booked the property for weddings as well.To ownership: Great job on the renovation! You had to carry three things with you at all times. The key for your room, hotel key card, and a parking garage key card at all times. Other than that, it was an okay stay. I recommend staying there at least once in your life, but i wouldnt stay more than 2 days there. The bath tubs and shower could definitely be upgraded, they're so old fashioned.
