An amazing experience all around. This is my go-to salon for all of my hair needs. I ask a lot of my hair and I often go in needing extreme color correction. Brenton (the owner) is often in the salon helping clients and providing support for his stylists. They offer some spa services and have complementary beverages including a few wine choices. I was in a desperate need for a root touch up. I found the Brenton Lee salon on yelp. I was set up to see Melody on Saturday afternoon. In walks in this statuesque woman who was obviously very pregnant. LOL! I haven't been to a more caring individual in a long time. This was probably the best salon experience I've had in years! Personal attention as so as you walk in the front door, greeted by an amazing front desk personnel. I was escorted to my chair and offered a water , and then came the Master of color Mr. Brenton Lee himself! The consultation about my hair with great only asked me what I want I explained to him that I wanted this particular color in my hair and he said he can make it happen. After going through the process, conditioning, adding the color , blow dried my hair after he show me the professional color is to match the color that you want to put in your hair and then to make sure that you're here and stays healthy during the process color and I was so super excited , so stoked that it was exactly what I wanted.I would recommend for anyone that wants to pamper themselves and enjoy your experience . I have mixed feelings about this place. There is so much I like and appreciate about them, and yet in the end they didn't get me the hair colour that I wanted. Last fall I ended up getting a pixie cut (at a different hair salon) and I decided that this was the perfect time to finally live out my dream of having blue hair. I found a picture online that had the particular shade that I wanted, and I reached out to Brenton Lee Salon on Yelp to ask if they could pull it off. I had originally been looking at Asian hair salons, but my friend recently had her hair coloured here and she recommended them. They are really quick about responding on Yelp and I was able to easily set up a meeting for a hair colour consult. I came in, met with Melody, who was enthusiastic about my hair colour and confident that we could reach the desired look in 2-3 sessions.For my first actual appointment, she ended up lightening (aka bleaching) my hair twice and then colouring it twice. I really like Melody--she is a lot of fun to converse with and she definitely knows what she's doing (as you can see for yourself on her Instagram). The end result was a lighter blue than I wanted, but I knew that I wasn't supposed to get my ideal colour after the first session anyway. While it wasn't my ideal shade, the blue did come out really nicely and what I especially love is that it faded out really beautifully. I got so many compliments on my "mermaid" "ombre" hair colour!My next appointment was 6 weeks later since Melody did not want my hair to get too damaged from all the chemical treatments. I again showed her the particular shade I wanted, and emphasized that I really wanted my hair to look good in about 3 weeks when I would be travelling and taking a lot of photos. Another hair stylist suggested a dark blue to Melody, saying that it would fade out really nicely, and I agreed to it. Unfortunately because Melody was unfamiliar with this particular dye I don't think she was very comfortable with it and she did not leave it in my hair for very long. Not sure if that contributed to the end result, but that is just something I noticed. Initially my hair looked a dark blue, and I was hopeful that it would turn into the shade that I wanted. However, my hair ended up turning green by the time I went on my trip. I still got compliments on it and my pictures turned out fine, but this was definitely not the colour that I had wanted.I can't deny that Melody and this salon does good work, and I have consistently received compliments on my hair after she dyed it. I also do appreciate being pampered at this salon (they offer various beverages while you are there--I recommend the sangria) and everyone is super nice here. I also like that you can text them regarding upcoming hair appointments. But they are pretty darn pricey, and if I'm not getting the result that I wanted, is it worth it? I would definitely recommend this place, they do good work, and I have to point out that they run specials all the time (sign up for their newsletter!). But for now I have no plans to go back. Came in to check out the Junior stylist, Amy, as they were having a promotional deal for Junior stylists (Normally I have Melody). I also like supporting working professionals who are looking to improve their craft. They were willing to honor the deal on a Saturday even though normally it's on Tues/Wed. I had made an appointment for a color gloss, deep conditioning treatment, and a blow dry. My correspondence was completely through texting using their appointment line. Upon arriving, the door was locked and me and another client were waiting outside for awhile before we were finally able to get buzzed in. We even tried it a few times but no on picked up. It was really weird as we both were repeat clients who had never had this problem before. I even called the studio and no one picked up. I left a text message and no one responded. Aside from this strange experience, the rest of my experience was good.We were greeted warmly at the entrance by the staff. They offered me a beverage, in which, I had a hot tea. Amy introduced herself, and I was able to choose from a selection of menu items. I didn't know what each service meant (no descriptions) so I had Amy explain to me her recommendations. I was also handed a tablet to fill out information about my hair to get a special "code" for which products work best for my hair type. I thought this process was interesting but slightly unnecessary. The entire service cost $70. It took a little over 2 hours. This was quite a steal as my hair looked fabulous!  I also purchased a Wella hair lotion ($19) which seemed like the thing to get as the receptionist was adamant it worked for her flyaways. Amazing salon! Comfortable and trendy style on the inside, they offer a wide range of refreshments and make you feel right at home! It had been years since I went to a salon and after trimming, coloring, then bleaching, then coloring my own hair for several years, I needed help regaining my hairs former glory. And Amy did exactly that! She helped me find out what would be best for my hair to still have fun with color but not damage my hair more and even bring back its shine and body. After a fresh cut (beautifully done to get rid of my nasty split ends) color removal and a conditioning treatment, some great hair products and a new color, I am beyond satisfied! My hair is healthy and shiny and beautiful! I also got the chance to meet Brenton and he and his staff were very helpful. I visit my miracle worker, Tanya, regularly so she can beautify me and make me look fabulous. She is always tentative and makes me feel at home and always comfortable. We have gone from different lengths and from brown to blonde blonde blonde and back to brown with her amazing Bayalage!! I love all my different looks she does on me and the products she uses are so great on your hair. Not harsh or damaging at all!! I have been going to Brenton to do my hair for at least 5 years now (it goes by fast, lol).  I have never left his chair and been disappointed.  He first did my hair when I was transitioning from relaxed to natural hair.  I wear my hair curly most of the time and he is the only person I trust to straighten it, color it, and keep it healthy.  He uses the best products and my hair is never shinier or softer than when I visit his salon.  I had another one of his stylists, Melody, do my hair once when he was out of town and she did a great job too!  The salon is great and full of professional and friendly people.  I would highly recommend it. OMG why didn't I come here sooner! I first heard of Brenton Lee Salon back in 2012/13? When I was in hair styling classes. I followed his professional Instagram and was a instant fan girl. March 2017 I now work in Pasadena, so I had the thought "let's check out the salon!". Turns out they had just moved locations and were literally next door to my work located upstairs! Yes!!! I went upstairs and made my appointment. (FYI I'm such a fan girl I knew almost the whole staff before ever really meeting them) So my first appointment, Julie that's Brenton's wife assisted me when I got there. Got me all ready and prepped. Brenton's listened to all of my hair questions(pretty sure he knew I was gonna be one of those picky guests) but he calmed all my concerns about my previous bad experiences. There are so many amazing things I can say about my amazing & beautiful magician of a hairstylist Julie and Brenton; but I'll try and keep it short  I am picky when it comes to my hair and who and how it's taken care of. I LOVE that they value their clients time and care and if you have an appt. Guess what you are actually their only client at that time and they ensure your comfortable and happy at all times. I have tried many salons over the years,  that do the typical let's start you have you wait, start this person and then have them wait and bounce between ppl causing your visit to be an entire day Vs the 1:1 attention Brenton Lee Salon provides. I have never walked out of their salon unpleased. Whether it was a major cut and color change or just a touch up and trim, I am always walking out feeling like my hair is not only looking UGH-mazzzzzing but feeling so soft and healthy (despite my color treatments). I not only commute about 90mins to go and get my hair done but would travel to see them anywhere their road takes them! The salon is clean, orderly and has a relaxing feel. I'm going to keep this simple. I've been coming to Brenton Lee Salon since its inception and have loved everything about the salon, from my one-on-one experience with the owner and the staff to the superb level of expertise. My hair always comes out amazing and keeps me coming back again and again. I regularly get the Global Keratin treatments and a few months back received a beautiful golden balayage which still gets me tons of compliments. I can't say enough great things about this salon and the stylists who work there! I found it on Yelp some years ago and I never looked back! I've had my hair taken care of by many stylists and each one had their own special touch. Lately I'm a client of Tanya's and she is the bomb.com! She hooks up my hair and I always leave feeling like a million bucks! She has major skills as a stylist and educator. I'm lucky to have found a stylist that's close by and super cool! I visit LA twice a year from New York and two main things I do prior to my flight to LA? Call Tanya for an appointment to work her magic with my dead, no strength and damaged hair. And the second one is with my skin care which has nothing to do with this review. Anyways, one thing about me is that if I go to one stylist and got a bad vibe from her/him, you better bet you I will never come back. I'm loyal to one stylist and if I ever do change, it's because I moved to a different state or one of us died.
