Yesterday I picked up a 10 inch round, 2 layer caramel cake from Bolton's Bakery on East Broad St in downtown Newnan. It was wonderful - "to die for" was one description I heard! This was for a special birthday celebration, and I couldn't be happier. There were only 2 small slices left over, and folks were negotiating about who'd take them home. From the moment we walked in the door, they made us feel at home in this family-run bakery. The chocolate shark-topped cake Jeremy and his sister made for my son's birthday tasted like the most amazing rich and moist homemade cake and was a hit at the party! Just WOW!
I had heard about them and heard their cakes were great. What an understatement!
We recently moved to Newman and wanted to support a local business so I gave them a try.
Had them bake me a carrot cake for my 25th wedding anniversary and it was the best!!
They even added the writing in silver which was a nice touch.
Fast and friendly service and the prices are very reasonable.
Highly recommend.

This bakery is incredible. I go twice a week. Everyone there is like family. I love my hug from Melvin as much as I love their cupcakes! Jeremy hears me come in and magically my favorites ( cupcakes and cheese straws) appear. Their donuts are better than those at Krispy Kreme. The sweet potato pie is the best I have never tasted! And the lemon brownie may be the most delicious item on the menu. Just drop in. If you don't see something you like, just ask. Jeremy or sweet Miss Sheila may have it in the back. Visit them. The Bolton's have become second family. When I walk in the delicious smell brings me back to my Nana's house. Wonderful tried and true recipes made with love. My favorites are the lemon brownies and blueberry scones, but the pound cake is close in the mix. As we walked toward Bolton's Bakery one of their customers was walking down the street eating cake. She stopped us (strangers to her) to tell about this fantastic cake. Since that's exactly where we were headed I decided I'd give the caramel cake a try. We were cheerfully greeted as soon as we entered the bakery. It was not one of those pretend greetings where the person saying it doesn't even look up at you. It was a very sincere and Happy to see ya kind of greeting. That immediately put a smile on my face. The caramel cake and hot fried pie made my smile even wider and it went down into my tummy with each bite. I drove an hour to get to Bolton's Bakery after a friend told me how great it was. I am so glad I found this wonderful family owned bakery. They are such nice people. I've had two of my daughter's baby showers within the last month. They did a awesome job on the cakes and cookies! Today was our first experience with Bolton's Bakery! We walked up to the store from dance class. He was so sweet to my little ballerina as she decided what treat she wanted.
