Donald is a great trainer. He pushes me harder than I push myself, and I have seen great muscle gain from training with him. I have abs of steel. I have a genetic disease that impacts my balance as well as a shoulder issue. He knows how to modify or substitute exercises for every muscle group which has enabled me to continue to train during physical therapy.
He cares about his clients and sessions with him are hard but enjoyable.
One piece of advice.....do not say, "I can't!" :)

I like to workout but don't do well on my own. I first signed up with Donald to be accountable and for help putting a program together.
He helped me set goals, make a plan and pushed me to succeed. He provided me with a variety of exercises and clearly explained which muscle groups I was working and proper techniques.
I highly recommend him whether you are a beginner or more advanced. He has the knowledge and the motivation to help you succeed.

Deciding to work out with Donald has been one of the best decisions I've made in the last six months. His depth of knowledge, combined with extensive experience and great people skills, has helped me more than I ever expected! He will push you to reach your potential, but is careful to not let you hurt yourself in the process. I'd give him ten stars if I could! More...

I had the opportunity to work alongside Donald for about two years. Donald challenges his clients to bring their best selfs to the table: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He encourages us through his own example. His personal commitment and dedication to his physical, emotional, and spiritual health inspire his clients to be better, and in doing so, live better lives. I am grateful to Donald for giving me the time and energy, and giving me a glimpse of what it really means to be balanced and strong. More...

Donald is amazing! I have trained with him for several years now both individually and as part of groups. His great knowledge and care has vastly improved my fitness level. Donald is able to tailor workouts to meet anyone’s needs from the body builder to triathlete to anyone just wanting to improve their strength and conditioning. Our groups have had high school athletes to people in their 70’s and 80’s. He has helped people recovering from surgery and people with special needs too. He trains the whole person from physical to emotional, nutrition to motivation. He will help you with all aspects. If you are looking for the best trainer, look no further than Donald with MSR consulting! He is the best! More...

I begin training with Donald eight months after I had a lumbar spine fusion and was struggling with pain and inactivity. He totally turned my life around! I began going to the gym with him three days a week before work, got stronger, more energetic, confident, and reversed the “chest of drawers syndrome” , where my chest had been going into my drawers! It is going on two years now with that routine and I feel awesome at 63 years of age, stronger than I was in high school and definitely more muscular. Donald works me hard and pushes me beyond what I would do for myself, all while having a fun experience that I look forward to the next time. I only wish I had begun training with Donald sooner!! I highly recommend him without reservation! More...

Q&As

I conduct a fitness evaluation to assess the client’s current fitness level as well as talk about the client’s goals and their physical limitations. Once I have gathered all this information, we can talk about how these goals can be achieved in a realistic way.

There is not a secret to getting the body of your dreams. Determining your body type (ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph), caloric intake, frequency of your training regimen, and your age are all factors which helps you to understand how your body can be transformed. A consistent routine with hard work and being aware of your caloric intake are the greatest factors in reaching your personal goals in fitness. “Move it or Lose it” is the greatest challenge because if you don’t move, your muscles will atrophy over time, negatively affecting your metabolism and ability to maintain your ideal weight.

The human body is made in such a way that it is fascinating to learn how it can adapt to stress and trauma in order to heal and be transformed. I love the challenge of working with clients as they grow in their knowledge and understanding of how their body will change with the right amount of force and training. When clients respect their hard work and change their lifestyle, I am most delighted because the time put into changing the body is not easy. I also like the challenge of helping athletes to achieve their specific goals in preparation for an event or competition.

I spent 24 years in the military training soldiers and helping them to understanding the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I competed in bodybuilding for 20 years and I love helping, teaching and equipping others with the knowledge I have gained of how to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of their life.

I have over 30 years of experience in the physical fitness arena and I’ve worked with clients from all ages (5 to 93). My experiences as an athlete and in training clients from all fitness levels and backgrounds set me apart from the average trainer. I have partnered with colleges to provide internship opportunities for their students to earn 90 hours for those earning degrees in Kinesiology and to give those earning certificates for personal training hands-on training. I’ve taught active aging classing and senior muscle strength classes for numerous 12-week sessions. I also specialize in training clients with joint replacements (ACL, MCL, back, shoulders, hips, and etc..) and other surgeries and diseases (cancer, MS, ALS, strokes, heart attack, Guillain-Barr’s syndrome, and etc..)
