Such an amazing meal! I booked a counter seat earlier in the week, mentioning it was my birthday. I cannot express how incredible and accommodating the service staff is and has consistently been. The food is mouth-watering delicious! We tried most things with our group of 12 for my SO's birthday dinner. The lamb was so tasty, the pork loin impeccably prepared, chicken was flavorful, and a new favorite, the trout, was to die for. Had dinner with another couple and totally enjoyed. Started with four shared plates (among many fine options) then finished with the wood-fired chicken. We stopped at Birch + Butcher on a Saturday afternoon after seeing a matinee at the Marcus Center. We were looking to enjoy some cocktails and light bites. One thing I would note: while they're listed as being open all day. They don't actually serve food from 2-5pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We arrived at 4pm, which wasn't a huge deal as we were happy to linger over cocktails at the bar until 5pm. I think they maybe don't typically get patrons at that time, so our reception was somewhat awkward. I say this to convey that I would probably not recommend arriving during the hours of 2-5pm. We began with their averna cocktail, which I would recommend to bourbon lovers. It's strong but the averna offsets the bourbon with a fragrant sweetness. It is delicious. Once 5 o'clock rolled around, we ordered some bites. We got their charcuterie + cheese board (divine), bbq parsnips (thanks to all who recommended this! SO amazing. Perfectly charred, with the smoky taste offset perfectly by the fresh and creamy greek yogurt), and the marinated beets (served with whipped goat cheese, pistachios, and arugula).
