I have a local business that is currently in 3 different states. Big Gorilla Design has been handling my SEO for all 3 locations and so far I've seen steady results. I'm a very easy person to work and get asking with. All I ask for is some basic communication and transparency, which the Big Gorilla Design team does on a regular basis. I've never had any problems with anyone on their team not providing updates in a timely manner. And in just a few months, I have seen movement on the first page for a couple of locations. Big Gorilla Design has met my expectations in the web design department. The last company I hired for web design took so long and the final results didn't reflect the quality of work I was hoping for. I expected them to finish in a reasonable timeframe with a well designed site, but I got a mediocre site with a lot of issues. Big Gorilla Design actually pointed out all the issues with my old site, like how it was over optimized and very hard to navigate. They had a vast assortment of knowledge regarding what components a successful lead gen site should have and they made sure to incorporate all the necessary information my site would need during the design process. My last web designer didn't listen to what I wanted at all, and I was left with a website that did not work for my company. They helped me solidify and strengthen my brand and they've since handled aspects of my marketing and advertising, all of which I've been equally impressed by.
One key factor for me was collaboration. Working with them, I felt I was part of the process, without being overwhelmed by it. Previously, I had a bad experience with another web designer, and I'd been disappointed in the past by other marketing companies, who promised me the world and failed to deliver, so I was indeed a bit skeptical going into it.
When I originally met with them, I was impressed by their ideas, their knowledge and their expertise. When I met with other companies, I often felt like they were selling me ideas without any knowledge of my business. A successful website design involves more than sleek looks. It needs to convert your visitors. Whether a conversion means getting that visitor to make contact, pick up the phone and call, or having someone make a purchase on your site, your website is one of the most important sales and marketing tools your business will have. It's your ambassador to the world, and it's the first (and sometimes only) thing that potential customers will see regarding your company.
To be great, a website needs a great strategy and stellar branding, but it also needs to be well-coded, fast loading, SEO-optimized, user-friendly, and a few other things too. When choosing a web design company to work with, you'll want a company that excels in all aspects to ensure that your website is the absolute best that it can be.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
We offer a variety of services, so some of these questions would be dictated by the project at hand. But typically, during the initial conversations, we'll want to get a better idea of your company, the specifics of the project itself, what you see as the main needs, and what your ultimate goals are.
We always like to start off with a phone conversation, rather than just emailing or messaging back & forth, as it's important to have that connection, so we can better understand your company, and you can also understand who we are a little better too.
Once the project starts, we'll spend some time getting to know your company, as well as brainstorming, researching, strategizing and embarking on a discovery process. For smaller projects, all of these steps may not be necessary, but if we're working on a larger design, marketing or branding project, this is a very important element.
Describe your creative process.
Our creative process may differ depending on the type of project we're working on, but it always incorporates some level of collaboration with the business and/or business owner. We're not the type of company who believes we know what's best for your company before we've even had a conversation with you.
We listen to your needs and goals and consider ourselves a partner in helping you to achieve them. That's not to say we won't have ideas and suggestions of our own. We will. In fact, we'll share them with you throughout the process. But we believe the process should involve the business and/or business owner on at least some level, to ensure we're accomplishing what you need. From there, we'll use our expertise to take your project to the next level.
Although we're a creative company, we don't just rely on our creative juices to make your project or campaign its most successful. We use data, research & testing to inform our decisions and creating a winning design or marketing strategy for you.
